Everything was great except the noise level in the halls. Someone was talking loudly in the hallway (or in the next room) at 3:00 a.m. and it sounded like they were in our room.

Westin Hotels are generally quite good, but this particular one was located in a vibrant part of Michigan Avenue, next door to the John Hancock Tower and Water Tower Place. It's got all the bustle of big city luxury retailing within steps but without the overcrowding frenzy :D The hotel itself is simple and elegant, with all the amenities you were looking for during a weekend stay. Entrance is off main street so it's easy to hail a cab and get dropped off. Checking in early was no issue (got in before 11 AM!). Helpful staff allowed us to look into neighboring rooms. Street-side views from our rooms. Updated bathrooms and heavy doors (I hate bathrooms with modern sliding doors or what not). Could hear our friends next door, but that may be bc one of our friends talks particularly loud :) and not necc a reflection of hotel. Coffeeshop in lobby but they also serve Starbucks coffee in room! I will come back!

the hotel was clean, neat and well-located near restaurants, shopping and nightlife for our group. We were very satisfied with our stay.

Very convenient location. Easy to find. Rooms very comfortable. Great bar and restaurant in the hotel.

the rooms were tired and old looking - i did not want to sit in the chairs. the upholstry was worn and dirty.the bed and rest of the room were very clean. The first night we were in a room close to the elevator so no sleep till 2 am due to the noise of late night party people coming back to their rooms. We asked for a different room the next day and the staff were very accomodating - said they would move our things for us. we returned at 4pm and nothing was moved but they took care of it quickly.

Overall I was very happy with our stay at the Westin. The one thing that was bad was it was really noisy. You could hear other guest very easily especially in the bathroom. In the bathroom you could here other peoples conversations and it also kind of sounded like you could here some mechanical sounds like the elevator shafts (I doubt it was the elevators though, we weren't that close to them). We are not a preferred members, they had special floors dedicated to members so I am not sure if it is just that way on non-preferred member floors.

All was great, as expected.

I stayed at this hotel for a work conference. The location of the hotel was great--very close to shopping, sight-seeing, and restaurants. The check-in seemed a little disorganized, but overall everything was great. The room was clean and semi-modern, and the bed was comfortable. In fact, everything was fantastic except for the noise. I hadn't spent much time in my room until evening and didn't realize that it sounded like my room was in the middle of a train station. My room must've been near an elevator shaft and the noise was pronounced. There was no fan or anything to drown out the noise and it occurred all night long. It was also intermittent, so when I did fall asleep, I woke up often. I suspect the walls are thin, as well, because I could clearly hear the conversations of drunk people returning to their rooms around 2am. I would recommend this hotel, but I would be very careful to inspect the room for noise or ask to be in a quiet location.

I had a great stay at the Westin, it is a well maintained facility with courteous and helpful staff. The only problems I encountered was the road construction around the hotel and the confusion about parking. I had no idea where to go for parking and because of the road work it only made it more difficult to find. This did not deminish the quality of my stay once I knew where to go but it did make for a rough start.

Myself and two daughters stayed at the Westin over the Easter holiday weekend. Great location - shopping on our doorstep. All of the staff, front desk, concierge and doormen were extremely helpful and gave us recommendations to great places to eat and sights to see. It is a pet friendly hotel and though we didn't have our dog with us, it was so pleasant in the mornings to see happy, furry critters with their owners. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a fabulous stay at the Westin in chicago. it was a great location ,the hotel staff was very friendly , and the rooms were very comfortable and clean .

Excellent staff!!! i've spent the night at the Westin before and as usual their customer service is exceptional. the staff went above and beyond to make my stay a great one. i would definitely visit this hotel on my next stay in Chicago

While the hotel was convenient and very clean, I felt the accommodations were average at best. Rooms were not spacious. I guess part of it is that Chicago is so expensive. I'm used to much more luxury for a high rated hotel such as this one.

The very loud noise in the halls went all night long until 4am making sleep impossible. The front desk's response to my complaint: "That's City Living".

Excellent service

Great location. Close to shopping, restaurants, theaters. Accommodations were wonderful! Clean room, clean lobby, friendly staff. Would stay at the Westin again!

The Location and proximity to shopping and my reason for visiting chicago was why I chose this location but this Westin disappointed this frequent traveler. No Pool or hot tub, thin walls in the hotel, noise all night long you can hear food steps in the hall way. They charge by the minute for local calls even as a StarGuest Member the staff was under staffed at check out and at the door. The coffee shop closes at 7:00pm very inconvenient,, overall the bed and room was nice and clean but the hotel lacks amenities. Its great for a 1-2 night say over night only.

Great location. Parking pricey, but it is everywhere downtown.

Did not appreciate the fact that the front desk person would not guarantee to hold my room when I called to inform him that we would be arriving late. He said they were over booked, and couldn't guarantee my room despite the fact that it was held with a credit card. In the end, we did get a room which was very comfortable. However, we could not watch the TV - the picture "strobed" on and off.

Perfect location, comfortable beds. It is an older hotel with only single paned windows so the street noise does infiltrate but on the plus side it had stunning views of downtown.

We had a wonderful stay, enjoying amenities and the neighborhood. A comfortable place to rest and recharge in Chicago. Terrific to share with family.

Hotel was fantastic. The staff were very polite and courteous. Hotel bar was nice and clean. Will definitely stay on my next trip to Chicago.

Comfortable room, courteous staff, awesome location

On the sixth floor,Saturday night/Sunday morning, some of your guests thought everyone within earshot of a room down the hall from 626 thought all guests wanted to hear their LOUD laughing and carryings on. The front desk never got a call because I knew when security finally arrived they would have been quietly inside their own room (s)

The rooms were very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable for a Hotel. I would definately stay at this Hotel again. The staff was very friendly.

great location .Bedding uncomfortable smelled old.Lack of sound proofing made for an uncomfortable stay.

Great location, nice rooms, a little small for a party of four but the room was clean and the staff was very considerate and helpful. Work out facilities were clean and the equipment was in very good consition.

We have stayed here many times before and only a few weeks ago. This time was very disappointing. We came in for 1 night to celebrate an early Valentine's Day and reserved a room with a king bed. When we arrived at 4pm we were told that there were no rooms with king beds available for at least an hour because VIPs from the car show checked in and took all of the king rooms earlier in the day. I pay my money and am a SPG so why are we not all treated as VIPs? After refusing a room with 2 beds the manager suddenly found a room. A very nice room. When we went to check out we tried to order our car from valet from the room. No answer. We went down and were pressed for time to catch our flight and they could not locate the car. We waiting over 20 min until they finally found it. They said the cashier made a mistake... We left very disappointed and will probably try another hotel next time back in Chicago.
