Hotel Lord Byron - Leading Hotels of the World - روما

Good value for a high end retreat a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of Rome but still easily accessible. This is an especially good base for visiting the Borghese Gallery and gardens and the zoo. There is a tram stop just down the street but we walked everywhere without a problem. The best breakfast in Rome, which was included in our rate, is served in the most gorgeous room with beautiful artwork and lovely fresh flowers. I didn't want to leave! Our room was unexpectedly quite large, a real luxury in Rome. We even had a patio with orange trees.

Great staff and charming Hotel in "Embassy Row" just north of central Rome. Food, especially breakfast and the service were outstanding. Recent room renovation was clean and stylish. We had a balcony and large two-person shower, both of which are rare treasures in Europe. Location was a little inconvenient to central Rome. The last half-mile was uphill from public transportation through the Villa Borghese Park. Taxis may be required for those who can not walk after a hard day of sightseeing. Overall the Lord Byron is highly recommended.

This beautiful hotel is a gem! The owner of the hotel is always in the lobby meeting and greeting the guests and overseeing the smallest of details. Needless to say, the hotel sparkles! The complimentary breakfast was superb! Staff was very accommodating and helpful to us non Italian speaking tourists. We will be back for a stay at this elegant hotel. Enjoyed it immensely....

Similar to other reviews, the location is a bit of a distance from most of the sights. After a long day of walking, the additional walk to the hotel, or alternatively, the addition of another taxi fare was not what we looked forward to. The hotel was very nice, breakfast was superb, but just a bit too far from the rest of the sights.

We stayed in the Lord Byron for two nights in June at the end of a long vacation in Italy. The hotel is a boutique style establishment that sits above the Villa Borghese, a very nice neighborhood and park in Rome. The hotel service was excellent, and the rooms very clean (if not a bit small). We enjoyed our stay immensely and would stay here again. The only downside is that the hotel sits about 2km from the Spanish steps and about 3 km from Vatican city. So be prepared to taxi into Rome for sightseeing and eating as there is very little commerce near the hotel proper.

At first, I was nervous b/c the hotel is a bit dated...but after a week, I'm never staying anywhere else in Rome! In short: Lovely Staff!! Excellent Service!!! Quiet Location Safe, affluent neighborhood Hotel needs a bit of a face lift, but is otherwise wonderful. Easy to cab into heart of ancient, more touristy city Easy to walk around a more "non-touristy" area, which is beautiful Wonderful for traveling with a baby Trustworthy housekeeping And did I mention the amazing service??

A very nice, cute, boutique hotel...with amazing service. The restaurant is also very good....great wine. The hotel is in a nice location, however a bit far from all the main sight seeing...so if you dont like walking or taking cabs then dont stay here. I personally enjoyed getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city in the evenings, and had nice quiet sleeps...something I understand you dont get staying in the city. Only negative is there was a few exposed areas of wood and nails in the bedroom that I wouldn't have expected from a 'Leading Hotel of the World'

This is a great hotel and the attention to detail at the hotel is second to none. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. Room was always clean and would recommend this hotel. Also there was free WiFi Hotel is not near centre, however a taxi to most attractions will be no more than 10 euros and the taxi will be outside the hotel in seconds. Also it is a nice walk through the park and you arrive at the Spanish steps (allow 30 mins for this though). Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. We plan to go back to Rome next year and will book this hotel. As long as you are aware that the hotel is not in the centre, then you will have no complaints about chossing this hotel.

This hotel is definitely not a 5-star. First of all, it is located pretty far away from the city center, where all the sightseeing takes place. You have to take a cab, unless you don't mind a long walk. At the end of a day of sightseeing, you may be too tired for that. Secondly, there is no free Wi-Fi. They don't even give you a phone cable. You have to pay for it. I'm sorry, but at these prices, you expect the little extras to be included, as they are at most 5 star hotels. Lastly, the room decor was terrible. Tacky pictures of Marilyn Monroe? I can get that in a McDonald's. The bathtub was small, the bathroom was small, and the hotel was not particularly pretty. I was extremely disappointed, esp. because I had just left a 5 star hotel in Madrid that I really liked, and the Lord Byron seemed particularly lacking in comparison to that one. I felt ripped off.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city (we are from NYC) and don't mind walking into town (Spanish Steps are about 20 minutes walking), this is the place for you. Villa Borghese is just next door. Old world charm, intimate, large soaking tub, and good concierge service (nice recommendation on local restaurant around the corner). They cleaned our room every time we stepped out (in the morning, for dinner, out for shopping). Very nice complimentary continental breakfast with fresh baked goods, yogurt, fruit, eggs, bacon, cereal, prosciutto, cheeses. The door man was a bit lazy, but we enjoyed our stay.

Nice, clean & cozy hotel, good for relaxation & quiet, but not for tourism. Too far to go shopping or visiting for a few hours Then come back & rest, then go back out. It can be done but it will cost 40-50 Euros a day for taxis. SWe would have preferred to be closer to the center of Rome where all the action is.

This is a very nice, small hotel, with accomodating staff. The room is a bit small but it was very clean and pretty - the bathroom was big and beautiful. The backdraw is that the hotel is quite a walking distance from any of the attractions - however, the neighborhood is beautiful and very quiet. The bed is hard but if you ask they will give you a comforter that you can put under your sheet to make it softer. Worked well for me. As in many Italian hotels you have to pay for the Wi-Fi connection and they charge you big bucks for that so be aware.

Mycket trevlig personal på ett familjärt femstjärnigt hotell med bra restaurang. Bodde i ett deluxerum som är mycket rymligt och trevligt. Hotellet ligger avskilt och lugnt precis på kanten av Borgheseparken där man kan jogga, ta en promenad eller lugnt korsa igenom till Spanska trappan på en kvart. Spårvagn 19 till vatikanen tar 10 minuter. Ligger dock utanför "stadsringen" vilket innebär att det fasta priset på taxi från flygplatsen inte gäller. Men det ligger faktiskt närmare så lite hagglande med chauffören så får du samma pris oavsett (€40 i mars 2012). Är ni två blir det faktiskt billigare än att ta tåget till Termini och taxi därifrån. En exklusiv liten oas för dig som vill ha lugn på kvällen och besöka "larmet" i centrum via en kort promenad.

Læker hotel, super service og fantastisk morgenmad. Dejligt at det ligger lidt ude for byen i roligt kvarter. Dog i gå afstand fra f.eks. den Spanske trappe

Voortreffelijk hotel met een goede keuken op een rustige locatie in Rome maar toch in de buurt van het oude centrum. Het Piazza di Spagna enVilla Borghese liggen op loopafstand.
