Hotel Allegro, a Kimpton Hotel - شيكاغو

Cancelled my stay. Unworthy of a romantic weekend getaway.

Queen room was small but OK for one. Two would have been been tight; very small closet, small bathroom, sink, counter, no couch or casual chair. Nice desk & work chair, good flat screen and TV channel lineup. Quiet room.

Very nice hotel with some fun nooks and crannies for cocktails. Small rooms but clean. Very good for Loop adventures and nice walk to Michigan Ave/Soldier Field, museums.

The title pretty much sums it up. The room was VERY small (and I've stayed in some small NYC rooms). I also woke up to fairly audible chatter from the group of girls staying in the adjacent room -- the walls were very thin. The hotel was good otherwise. Modern lounge, helpful staff. It was fine for a quick overnight by myself, but I probably wouldn't stay there again, especially if I had another person with me.

Very nice place for a short city break, the hotel interior is full of interesting original art deco features combined with beautiful modern furnishings, the wine reception every evening is lively and makes of a good start to a night out, the gym is well equipped and the area itself makes for a good place to stay. Overall Hotel Allegro is a nice place to stay, and I'll certainly be choosing Kimpton again for their other hotels in the USA

This hotel is very nice for the price. The décor is fun and trendy. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. While there were ice machines on our floor, we couldn't find any vending machines with soda/water, which would have been nice after coming in late from the bars. My only complaint about our room is that we had two double beds (wish they were queens) and we were put in a handicap accessible room so the walk-in shower would get water all over the bathroom floor, so you had to be careful not to slip or get your socks wet. The hotel is in the loop and there are a bunch of really great restaurants/bars in walking distance or just a short cab drive away (River North).

The customer service was great-helpful, happy employees, inviting atmosphere. The room was spacious, great decor. The valet service was fast and courteous.

Internet was most definitely NOT free, hotel was clean, room was cramped (2 double beds). Happy hour helped the ratings.

The staff was very pleasant and the hotel was modern. Amenities were wonderful and I would definitely return.

Just fine. Not dirty, nothing special. Good location for theatre and in and out of Chicago.

I've been here for business once and brought my kids this time. It's a great hotel with fantastic service. I hope to stay here again next time I visit Chicago.

I understand I booked through Hotels.com and fully expected the room not to be the best of what they had available, but I was completely disgusted by the quality of the room. I absolutely loved the decor, but upon further inspection, I was disgusted by the lack of cleanliness. The room smelled of moth balls and dust; the nightstands, desk and mirror were dirty and looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned in months. I definitely paid what I did for the room because of the location, not for the quality.

Unbelievable service in trendy but slightly dark hotel. I was very pleased.

Beautiful lobby with complimentary wine/beer tasting. Nicely decorated rooms, comfortable beds & pillows. Good location, in walking distance to everything one would want to see in Chicago. The water in the shower gets extremely hot & stays hot for a long time, this is great after spending the day walking.The hotel was quiet in the evenings & loud in the morning. The only negatives I can report; You won't have much luck sleeping in. The entry door to the room needed to be cleaned from shoe marks; The sink drained extremely slow & the toilet had to be flushed a couple of times in order for waste to go down all of the way, possible plumming issue.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel accepts pets which is wonderful

We enjoyed our stay and it was conveniently located to shoppinng, food, and entertainment. We felt comfortable and safe. The room was very clean as was the hotel.The staff were very nice from the check-in to housekeeping.

The location and price can't be beat. This is an updated older hotel. High ceilings, classic facing on the elevators, nice lobby, nice staff. Very pleasant place to stay in the heart of the city, convenient to the El (and, thus, to O'Hare via the blue line), and even within a (longish) walk to Union Station.

Our only negative observation was that the bathroom was tiny and had virtually no counter space to put drinking glasses, bottles, etc. on.

Room is tiny and not comfortable. Bathroom sink is tiny and narrow.

My main criticism is the size of the room and its decor. I'm not sure when the rooms were last decorated but the room looked like it had either been decorated a LONG time ago or was rushed when it was done if done so recently. It suited my needs perfectly for the weekend I stayed but I think I would be curious to stay at one of their other Chicago locations next time.

For the price, this hotel is excellent. It was within walking distance of many of the major attractions in the city. It is also only a couple of minutes walk from the blue line of the subway which goes to O'Hare airport. The room was spotlessly clean as were the public areas. The staff were friendly without being overbearing. Super comfortable bed. The view wasn't great, but that's a minor thing in a room you barely use!

A great location, rooms are small, but nice. It seemed like this used to be an older hotel, but it's been redone in a really nice way. The wine social was busy and the wines were so so, but free! The bar in the Hotel had great drinks and am amazing bar tender. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Needed a hotel in the middle of everything for a girlfriends all-weekend bachelorette party. Found a great weekend deal here at the last minute! Location was superb. Svc was standard, but disappointed to get off elevators to my floor and immediately found out my room was directly in front of the elevator and svc lounge:( . from the looks of it, the 4/5 doors you see directly stepping off the elevator all must be the 'value' rooms b/c they all had kicked in and scuffed up bases. Not very attractive or inviting. Only made you wonder what you were about to see when you walked into your room. Once you walked into the room , small but expected city small. decor very appealing, but could also tell we had an old 'used a lot' room. Room wallpaper buckling because of damp moisture seeping in cracks I assume, overall felt kind of dingy. And view from my window ? A large high-rise parking lot where you could definitely be the witness of an SVU-esque scene:/. and one the the train lines (not too loud-u could get sleep easily). I would suggest that if you are going to have the first four rooms directly across from the elevator as the "value' and weekend discount rooms, maybe re-painting the doors and sprucing up the overall interior to the rooms would be valuable and well appreciated. But again, I just wanted a place in the city that I could come back to via taxi happy , safe, and buzzed. mission accomplished.

The hotel was priced below average for the comfort and amenities it provided.

I wasn't pleased at all with this Hotel, overpriced rooms were small the bathroom was like a closet,and the closet was so small that my items i hung went flat.you could only watch 5 channels on television. The walls were paper thin that I was answering to the other guest on both sides of me,so you can just imagine what my night was like, no sleep at all. When I checked out their computers were down, so they told me that they would FedEx my cash deposit. That was on Monday...and I still haven't received it.

The hotel was really modern and sophisticated but unfortunately had very thin walls. Our first night was not a problem as I do not believe we had anyone in the room next to us. The second night we had the unfortunate luck of getting a large group who used the neighboring room as their party room. You could hear every word they said at a normal volume even after security (very promptly after our call at 4:30am) asked them to quiet down and turn off the blaring music. We had one issue with getting our bags from the bell hop as they were taken to the wrong room but they were quick to fix the issue and extremely apologetic. As time consuming as it was it did not leave a bad taste as it was handled professionally. Overall, I'd stay again but possibly try for a room at the end of the hall on a corner!

This hotel was amazing. I felt like we totally lucked out - got a great deal on Hotels.com and couldn't believe how we lucked out with such an awesome hotel. A mixture of swanky modern and retro - the decor felt luxurious, it was spotlessly clean, superb location and the customer service was perfect. Rooms on the small side? Maybe a little, but we were out having fun most the night, so who cares? If you were staying more than a few days you may want to request a bigger room since it had limited counter space or storage space, but we couldn't have been happier.

Note to fellow travelers, a "King suite" does not include a King sized bed. Our bed was a double at best.

it was a beautiful hotel! The room was a little small, and so was the bathroom. the shower head could have worked a lil better. but all in all we were there for only 1 night and it was comfortable and worked great for us. lil expensive on other items but a great hotel

Great place freindly staff!!

Very dissatisfied! Canceled two other nights and over to the Hilton!

This is a really nice hotel with a swanky look/feel in the lounge area. The room was comfortable and nice. The free coffee bar tasted pretty bad, but everything else was great!

What a great hotel! We checked in just as happy hour was starting in their very and large lobby/reception area. It included complimentary beer and wine, and as an added treat, a server came around with small pastries. The hotel makes everyone feel so at ease, it was easy to just sit down on one of their many couches and chat with a complete stranger. We talked with a man (and his dog) who told us he's stayed at many hotels in Chicago, and this one is definitely the best for the price. The rooms are pretty roomy, nicely decorated and very comfy. The hotel is close to everything (right in the heart of theater district) and just has a very hip, relaxed vibe.

Second time staying at a Kipton Hotel. Just love it !

Nice trendy hotel with great service. The room is pretty small but there is enough room to move around and the bathroom spacious. The 312 restaurant that is attached is amazing. The food was great and the service was even better. They had a nice three course meal for $36 and worth every penny! Walgreens, McDonalds, Corner Bakery were all within walking distance. Complementary wine hour everyday at 5, however we didn't make it there so I can't comment on the wine selection. I highly recommend.
