Hyatt Santa Barbara - سانتا باربارا

While the room was very nice, the service at check-in was a distaster. Having spent all day in Santa Barbara with my two young children, we were looking forward to a smooth and fast check-in and a late afternoon at the pool relaxing. Check-in time is 4:00 PM at this hotel, and even at 4:00, our room was not ready. We were allowed to sit at the pool while we waited for our room, and I was told I would be contacted as soon as it was available. At 4:30PM, I decided to call the front desk. After being on hold for over 5 minutes, I was informed that my room was indeed ready. I then had to wait in line again, with all of the new arrivals for a second time. It was an unfortunate snag in an other wise good overnight trip.

This Hyatt is nice but a little over priced. I had to check in to a competing hotel the next night which was actually cheaper but better value. The Hyatt price didnt include wifi or parking and not even wi-fi in lobby (complementary). In this day and age I think that is a joke. The Hotel was nice and staff very friendly. The gym is small but nice and the pool is nice. I'd give it an 7 out of 10. Great staff and nice location but for the price I suggest you shoparound (hint: like in the immediate area)

Every floor was beening worked on At checked in it took three times to get a room that we could stay in for three days. Maid only made the bed had to ask for everything (glasses, T.P. ect.). Call before you go to make sure you can get a room that is on floor with an elevator you don't have to walk up stairs on an other floor. Mike the bell man was the best. Thank you again Mike.

Not very happy with room. They gave me a smoking room and claimed it was non smoking. I dont think i will stay here again.

Very nice hotel right across the street from the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. The one complaint I have is that we were only a few doors down from the elevators and rolling suitcases on the textured floors they have in the elevator foyer were quite loud.

Great place to go after partying in Santa Barbara - no need to drive home after partying.

excellent hotel but no safes in the room.

- Check in was a hassle! I stood in front of the receptionist for 5 min while she talked to the other receptionist before I was asked if I needed help. I was then told that my room was at an off site location called "parkside", which was a dump! After looking for my room for 15 min at "parkside", i returned to the front desk because I could not find my room. I was then told that my room wasnt at "parkside" and was in fact on their primary property. I then proceeded to unload my luggage and wasnt asked once from the staff if i needed help. - the room was tiny with hardly enough room for two to move around in. - parking after enjoying nice dinner downtown was also a pain. I ended up having to find parking in the street. The next morning when i was moving my car back in front of the hotel to pack up for check out I was told by the door man that I couldnt park on their lot without a pass, which I was never issued. -Check out was also par for the course! I was told that they charge a $75 cleaning fee, as I was traveling with my dog, which they failed to mention when I checked in. All in all I will never stay at this hotel again and I would never recomend it to anyone! Steer clear!

Very run down def not a 4 star more like a 2 star like the motel 6 it's in front of. Adobe style and needs a remodeling job! Worst Hyatt I ever stayed at

Convenient location

The staff was very courteous and helpful. I would recomend the hotel to others. (Very good location)

Great location to relax with great view of the ocean. Very convenient to outdoor activites, such as biking along the harbor or strolling with your family or shopping.

This hotel is a real gem. It is low key in the typical Santa Barbara style with tasteful updated rooms, beautiful wroght iron and tilework. The bed was the most comfortable bed I ever slept in - hands down. The property blends in well with the surrounding neighborhood and there is a walking path across the street along the beach that goes for miles.

Rooms were kind of musty, as other reviews noted, but a decent place to stay IF you get a good rate.

I was booked at this Hyatt for a stay of less than 12 hours on a business trip, but it was great and I will be back. Room was clean, with a nice view of the hills, a comfy bed, and good lighting to get some work done. My breakfast at the hotel restaurant was also pleasant, with a lovely view of the beach. Wish I could have taken in more of the beach and poolside amenities, but the staff was friendly, and the remodeling seemed well done. Pretty convenient to downtown and the highway, too.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. the buildings need some TLC. The location across from the beach is great!

hotel was dark and room was small. bathroom had old fixtures and not hot water and had to call front desk for soap. not centered a/c, wife had to climb on chair to turn on/off a/c. there was a dirty towel in drawer already when we got there. hotel has a back door, which was open to street and was open all the time. First time in life we did not feel safe at night, and were woundering if some homeless person is going to walk in, since santa barbra has homeless people everywhere. would not stay at this hotel againg, felt like a 2 star hotel.

Great job with the remodel now that it's Hyatt. Only complaint is a fan in the bathroom that ran the entire time, it would not turn off with any of the light switches. Very comfortable bed, nice quiet room. Closet in kind of an awkward place and hard to see anything inside, but ok for short term

Our room was purchased through an online site so for a place to put our heads down for the evening, we paid a decent price. The room had no view as it faced an adjoining wall and was next to the elevator. Beach shuttle convenient just outside hotel.

To whom it may concern, I booked this hotel room under my name and my boyfriend paid the bill. We had to call several times to receive a copy of the bill for our records. To my surprise my boyfriend was charged an extra $50.00 which was not explained to us. There were no extra charges added to the room during our stay. No I would not stay at your hotel again due to "surprise fees". Marilyn Juengling R.N.

Not exactly cheap, but pretty, elegant and they serve an excellent huevos rancheros at breakfast. The pool area is small but attractive. Beds very comfortable. A lovely beach is right across the street. There must be a gym at the hotel, but we never found it--we were only there for one night. There was some street noise, not too bad--I hear this is an issue at many Santa Barbara hotels.

Can't beat the location, and the pool is spectacular. The only issue we had with our room was the old, non-functioning air conditioner. The room seemed to be completely updated with the exception of the wall mounted a/c unit. It made for a pretty uncomfortable night's sleep on a hot evening in our small room. But otherwise a lovely place to stay only steps from the beach and minutes from the action of State St..

A clean hotel, although room a bit cramped for space, is all one needs. The staff was helpful, friendly, and responsive. The breakfast buffet was only fair, but fast and easy. Location was great for our need, and the price fair.

The hotel staff were couteous and capable and the renovated room clean, but for the price it was poor value when compared around the country.

We were immediately moved to a better room, once we voiced our unhappiness with the size of the original booked room. We didn't realize there was a triathlon the first morning we awoke, until we opened our window. Our room, though amazing in size, was on the first floor and faced the main street. The windows must've been triple paneled, because, as noted we never heard a sound. The service from everyone was impeccable... and to think, we first booked the hotel due to their pet service, but decided last minute to not bring. Of course, all this was topped by Santa Barbara's fabulous weather!

The challenge with Santa Barbara goes back a hundred years to the original city planners. The planners preserve a nice park along the water but then added a major road right next to the Park and Ocean, hence, you CAN NOT find a Beach Front resort. For the value, the Hyatt Santa Barbara provides a beautiful view of the water = and a nice swimming pool with view plus firepit. Two of the treadmills in workout room were broken but otherwise it is fine. Food is good and getting better every year. Swimming Pool Bar and Hotel Bar are fine. Rooms are fine but bathrroms small due to original architecture of this older, quaint Hotel.

This is a very comfortable Hotel. Everything was clean and working. Would recommend to anyone.

This hotel could use some minor updating to the exterior, but the rooms are nice, it is reasonably priced, and the location is great. I recommend renting bikes (right in the hotel parking lot) because that is the best way to travel around town and the bike paths are very scenic. The hotel is literally one block from the zoo and 2 miles from Montecito, at the southern most end of downtown Santa Barbara, across the street from the beach. There is a trolley bus that picks up in front, and it is only $.25 cents with a free transfer up State Street. The staff is very friendly. We got stuck with the two worst rooms, #109 and #209, our window facing a wall and very loud Cabrillo street traffic with the window open. Not impressed with Hotels.com room selection and the fact that all sales are final all of the sudden and no upgrades even, allowed.

The staff was very friendly. However, the accommodations were not at all as described on line. I did not get the room I reserved, many of the ammenities described on line were not available as stated, the price of the room was not worth what I got. For the price of accomodations one would think that parking would be included, but it was not. I never had to pay for parking in a hotel before.

Great location, and very friendly staff. Besides that the rooms very small, and hotel is dated. I was very suprised to stay in a Hyatt of this low of a calibur. I paid 500.00 dollars for a ocean front room that left me speechless and asking why & how can they charge a rate like this? I was not impressed at all, I have stayed at other Hyatt's because of there reputation, my favorite is in Huntington Beach, this place does't even hold a candle to that. We had a nice size private patio balcony area that overlooked the pool and the ocean, but all there was on this large patio was two cheap chairs and tiny little table it had one small flower box on the pool ovelook side that was missing plants and dwarfed dy the patio size, also there were three large planter pots in one corner but not even one plant, bush or palm in them. I have stayed in much nicer places for alot cheaper and even not so nice that were better then this. Signed Dissapointed

Hyatt should be embarrassed by this hotel. While the room was clean enough, the bathroom had an awful smell and the carpets and draperies were quite old and needed to be replaced. There was virtually no security except for the main building. The other buildings were fully accessible with the main doors open at all hours (even though there was a sign that said they would be closed between 10pm and 7am).

the hotel was old but nice. the rooms were also very vice and clean. there was nothing special about the hotel. no info in the rooms about restaurents or sights to see. alos no phone book. too far ro walk to town. way too expensive for what you get. plases closer to town and less expensive just as nice.

Very nice hotel, great pool, excellent staff. Just don't expect a nice room overlooking the beach unless you pay for it. We booked their cheapest rate and got a first floor small room looking at the parking lot. We were happy to be guests in the hotel and location was great but it was clear you had to spend some good money to get in the nice rooms with a view.

I expected more from the rating. The rooms are showing ware, and e hotel is just average. This is not a luxury hotel in my standards.

After reading all of these horrible reviews about this hotel we were over the moon. The room was great, the location is amazing and the staff were great.
