The title says it all...it's nasty and in disrepair. The picture on the website looks good but when you get there you won't have a flat screen tv...it will be an old school big bulky tv...the hallways are old and disgusting. The wallpaper in the room is coming up even though this is the "remodeled room". The tub is coming up, it's plastic not ceramic...I almost slipped and fell in it several times because it was bubbled up underneath where it was coming up in the middle of the tub. The tv remote control didn't work so they were going to bring me a new tv...I said forget it, I'll just change the channels by hand as the equipment/maintenance engineer was creepy. The locks did not work on the first room they assigned me. They had to send someone up and I had to switch rooms. The room they switched me to had a problem with the electronic lock as well...I stayed in that room but it was tricky every time trying to get into my room. I wouldn't go back there if you paid me to stay there.

Hotel advertised restaurant on-site and open till 11. Important if you knew you would be getting back late from work and didn't want to go back out. Closed at 4pm and only offered take-out from 2 outside restaurants. The desk clerk thought the benefit was that the delivery person would bring it to your room but I had to go down to get the menues. I don't think they get that female guests especially don't like unknown people delivering things to your door that aren't Hotel employees. Really bad service idea. No hairdryer in the room and no one available in the hotel to deliver it to the room. Are you kidding? Again, no thought at all about female guests. Awful customer service. Bathroom tub caulking moldy. The sleeping area was nice and clean. Three of us on the same floor had to have security open the doors as the key cards didn't work. I'm sure the other floors had the same problem. Not worth the trip.

Terrible, place to stay. Came in for business, pictures on web site looked nice. I don't know where or when those pictures are from but, they do not represent this hotel. I could not beleive the condition of the rooms, especially the bathrooms. Could not take a shower the water sprayed all over the room. The sink faucet came right out of sink when I went to turn it on. Terrible experience. Front desk manager did not seem to care.

This hotel is horrible, the staff is awful, they do not show concern about complaints. I travel all over for business and have stayed in many hotels. This one should have zero stars. Room was dirtty, shower did not work, had to use sink to get washed. Noisy, dirty, smelly and rude front desk need I say any more

When I turned on the water in the bathroom it sprayed all over. Soaked my clothes, room was dirty,smelly. The staff just did not care about my issues. Would never stay there or recommend to anyone.

The hotel was great room was nice but the bathroom needed serious maintenance shower head was broken exhaust fan broken mildew through out the bath tub if it wasn't fir the bathroom would gave been great

It was a decent stay for the price, very clean and well-kept with an indoor pool and gym. However, it wasn't in the greatest area, and was a drive from any shopping areas.

We needed a convenient place to retreat from the storm and prepare for a speaking engagement in the area and Hartford Plaza provided just that place. Friendly service, extended stay accomodations and a large, clean comfortable room will make return again. The special rate offered through Hotels.com made it that much more attractive.

The hotel looks nice on the outside, but it's clearly time for some renovations. The lock on the door for our first room wouldn't open because the batteries on the card reader were dead. The room was also ice cold when we checked in - apparently the heat is kept off until you show up. The bathtub was cracked and the shower fixture was spraying water at the joints. The price wasn't bad, but I wish I had paid a little more for a nicer hotel.

During our stay, where we were traveling w/ small children, the pool was closed for untold reason/s. We got our money back and checked out. The brief stay showed pealing wall paper and moldy bathtub surround. The surrounding area is indusrtial and appears to be on the decline. You must use your car if you need anything. POSITIVE: During warm weather the main city of Hartford is a pleasant walk over river bridge, and through concrete overlook type area. If they clean it up and perhaps increase the "store" in the lobby and give some sort of "TV Guide" so you can see what is upcoming would make this hotel rated in the High 4's

Noisy music piped out - doesn't exactly make one think you will get a good nights sleep. And you won't, because the heating doesn't work. I woke up freezing cold in the early AM. Also, no room service breakfast, I got the feeling they would bring me coffeeif I insisted but they didn't want to. "IIs the same coffee that's in you room" I was told. Big old fashioned tube TV, not that comfortable bed, phones didn't work properly. Room service waiter was kind, that was the only upside.I feel bad that he has to work there.

My original hotel room's phone was not working & couldn't call to the front desk. Changed rooms and the sink wasn't working properly. The beds though were extremely comfortable.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. The hotel is located very close to downtown Hartford (about a mile) and is right off the exit ramp on I-84. The reception area is very well decorated and the room was cozy and comfortable. There is free internet in all rooms with clear instructions to connect from your laptop. There is ample parking spaces in front and side of the hotel, which of course is free again. Overall a good place to stay!

This hotel is terrible. The front desk never answers the phone, they are rude. There were a whole bunch of kids running around the hotel, no room service, never again will I stay at that hotel. I never write reviews so trust what I'm saying. If your grown 25 and up don't go there.

My name is Rosa I was recently at the Plaza Hotel from 12/25- 12/26. I had a wonderful time there. I have no complaints. The person at the front desk was very nice, very pleasant to speak to. Over all it was a good stay.

The room was clean,spacious properly appointed and priced well. The shower had a leaking shower nozzle and the heat thermostat didn't work well. All of these could easily be fixed. The double beds were a negative queens would have made my stay for my family more enjoyable. ( all rooms had double beds or one king ).

This was a great hotel for what I needed very quiet and clean with a good price. Not a bad area of Hartford. Was interviewing at the hospital ad it was a short drive in the morning! A good hotel!

The bed was old ,used and completely terrible ! The room had an odor and was dirty... Very surprised this received a 3 star rating !

The hotel is in East Hartford, and doesn't have any nearby amenities. Old style TV's and dated feel.

Regarding cleanliness...there was a wash cloth from the previous guest hanging on the shower rod in the bathroom. Excellent continental breakfast and great price and location. L

The service was terrible... Room and hallways smelled very badly my room phone didn't work I have no wi-fi shower curtain was broken bathroom was tiny... The walls are so thin you could hear everything next door.. I had to keep going up and down the stairs n elevator because they forgot to provide so many things in my room and because my phone didn't work I payed for a king room and they gave me a queen two bed room everything was terrible

When we checked in, the receptionist was very rude to us. It was also hard for her to figure out when we reserved two rooms, we probably need two keys not one. Keys were not working half the time we were there. The heater wasn't working either.

I stood here before and I was clean, but when I stood there again the pool area was nasty and in the morning we found a ball and junk under the bed and a lighter under the heat and vent. That could of caused a fire.

Dirty, rude, mold, smell, tv snowy, remote found under chair...didn't work...arguably worse hotel I've ever stayed at....don't make same mistake!

We went to a conference at the xl center and lived the convenience of being able to walk to and from over the two days, however if there were not large groups of woman I would not have felt comfortable in the neighborhoid

We were only there for the women of faith conference. It was crazy, because there were so many ladies trying to check in at the same time. I have to say the girl that was checking us in, did a very good job. She keep her cool and I told her too. But the hotel was very nice and not far from down-town Hartford.

The only reason I stayed at this hotel was because of a major power outage in CT that forced me to stay somewhere besides my cold and dark house. Nothing special about the hotel except that's it pet friendly.

Terrible customer service. Mold and mildew in the bathrooms. Alarms going off in the middle of the night and at other various times.

I would not stay here ever again. The bathroom was moldy, the wallpaper in the living area was damaged by some sort of water leak and was starr back to the block mold covered wall. My key card needed to be swiped on average 17 times before gaining entry. Staff was useless during the 3 times the fire alarm went off for some sort ofmleak on the laundry room. Overall stay was awful and this hotel should not be able to be booked through Hotels.com, it's that bad.

Personal were very competent and helpful. Hotel is a little old, but clean, and very nice pool.

my only disappointment is when I couldn't use my internet to complete my work. That should be a free service to all customers and not have to pay an extra $15. when I was told that I was totally turned off. plus I had my kids with me and when not having continential breakfast that was another turn off, my daughter attends trinity college and we were there for family weekend. and I'm usually in the area alot. I can't recommend a place where you have to pay 15 to use the internet in your room that was my biggest turn off for me my sister and sister in law and we were all very un happy about that and the lack of continential breakfast especiall for the children

(1) The hotel was very cold. (2) The water in the sink was too hot to touch. Called for maintenance but never got it fixed. (3) Prices in the restaurant are too high. Sundays brunch was ice cold. (4) Tried to pay my bill by check and you don't take checks. (5) tried to answer the questions truthful but you wouldn't take it because I didn't answer one. I never got to go sightseeing. So how could I answer that question?? That's just a few.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The customer service was horrible and so was the condition of the room.

Overall it was good. Im disappointed that the room I booked had the wrong time, no mini fridge like I requested. The heat didnt work. Kinda disappointed.
