I booked the hotel for my father in law thinking that the south side hotel in springfield would be decent. He had a pretty bad stay at the hotel. The first night they put him in the room and the heater didn't work and the remote to the tv didn't work. The hotel was not full, however, they put him all the way in the back seeing that he's a senior citizen. He said," next time I will rather stay at microtel."

every thing was great. the staff was friendly and helpful , the bed was comfortable and breakfast was super.

It was an okay stay ewxcept teh key we recvd did not work the outer door and it was very cold, I stood outside for about thirty minutes with my children before I could get it to work.

The hotel was a tremendous VALUE. The room was clean, large, and everything worked like it was supposed to. Breakfast was "hot" and the service was excellent. I will stay there again next time.

My husband and our two kids (1&3) stayed here over thanksgiving to visit family. My very first impression was to not stay because of how old it looks on the outside. Very old! As soon as we walked in to the building with our rooms there was a musty smell. Our room, again outdated, was very clean and comfortable actually. We never heard our neighbors and it was always quiet. The complimentary breakfast was very good as well. (French toast, biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, fruit, cereal, toast and juice) I can't say that I would stay here again, but if you go into it knowing that you're getting a good deal for a place that is clean, quiet, right next to shopping and restaurants, you might be okay with it being outdated.

Beds weren't too comfortable. Bar was great, even a live band. Great hot breakfast! We came for the Cat Show, and only needed to walk down the hall to get to the show. Will probably stay here again.

We went to Springfield for my kids bday party and stayed at the Howard Johnson because it was right across the street from Chuck-e-cheese. We had a room with 2 beds because we have kids. The beds were really small. It is a good place just to sleep at night but i dont recommend if you stay there all day. Our free cable was 5 channels. The room key took forever to work but like i said before the hotel isnt that bad if u jus sleepin!

Their staff was great. They need to do a little touch ups here and there. But overall it was nice.

The photos included on this site do NOT match the room we had to stay in. We expected to have a large round tub and just got a regular old shower. This place has been here for years and years without in renovation to the rooms. I was once in a motel room just like it in the 70's.

It served our purpose completely. Best rate around.

After reading the services & amenities of this hotel, I booked this hotel based on reading hotel provided airport shuttle. After booking, I called the hotel to ask them to send the shuttle, I was informed the hotel NO longer has a shuttle service. I was very disappointed. Then had to figure out transportation to hotel. Taxi, estimate from Springfield, MO airport to hotel $26 one way. I ended up renting a car, which was less; considering round trip taxi cost. Hotel was just okay.

Rooms floor was constantly damp. Definetly needed updated. But the staff was very nice.

We were very impressed with the room we enjoyed for the price we paid. Maintenance was extremely prompt for the minor issues we had. The beds and pillows had the comfort of a much more expensive hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The light was out so I couldn't find the hotel in the dark it took me an extra 30 minutes till I did and after I called customer service to help me. The check in took a lot longer than expected or had experienced from previous hotels. No elevators. Old stairs and was confusing of a hotel to get to the room. Pictures do not resemble what the place looks inside. The customer service rep in the am watched me stand in front of the automatic doors (that did not open automatically) and could clearly tell I was trying to rush to get outside and catch the cab that had just dropped off people. He was not helpful. Another customer service agent from the evening was rude and did not acknowledge my presense. The two gentlemen just wanted to make jokes and talk to one another while helping the first customer. You get what you pay for and this clearly did not exceed my expectation

Pros: Good location, plenty of restaraunts and shopping close by, room size was adequate, beds were extremely comfortable. Cons: Unfriendly staff, refrigerator did not work in one room, other room had no refrigerator, the carpets seemed dirty, the two rooms we reserved were no where near eachother, price was steep for quality of hotel.

This hotel has no elevator, so be very cautious if that is a concern.

Over all the hotel was great! The free breakfast in the morning was amazing, and had a lot more choices than I expected. The service at the hotel was adequate, but the room key is another story. Each time you left the room, it would take anywhere from 3 to 15 trys to get back into the room. I only stayed there a night but had to get a new room key twice, and that still didn't resolve the issue. It appears to be a known issue in this hotel, considering that each new individual I talked with was not all surprised by my request for another key. Many times you would be standing in the hall with other people performing the same frustrating motion, again and again.

I was really disappointed in the condition of this hotel, as the review suggested that it was good. While the hotel and restaurant staff were FABULOUS, the condition of the hotel was outdated and unclean. While my room was "clean" in a relative sense, I had a feeling that there was just an underlying, permanent grime that wasn't going to wash away. Also, when I turned on the bathroom faucet, tiny bugs crawled out of the bottom of the sink. That led to a very uncomfortable night where i didn't sleep out of fear of bugs, et cet. The layout of the hotel is weird, too. It does resemble a "barracks" or a converted dorm--very institutional. I would recommend that anyone considering staying at this hotel that they shell out the extra $20 and stay at the Hampton Inn across the street. Sorry.

Had bad experience with another hotel that I booked through Hotels.com. I wanted to give Hotels.com another chance so I booked this hotel through them. I've explained to the Customer service person that I had a bad experience previously with another hotel and her response was "you'll like this one because, I stayed there before". When my family arrived to check-in, the front desk was not attentive, the employees were talking to each other (nothing important) and made me wait to check-in? I was annoyed because we were pretty tired. The hotel was not clean and the A/C did not work.

The key cards for the locks did not work at all couldn't get in the room or outside doors

Older hotel in need of renovations. While it claims to be non smoking, it wasn't and the room and halls all smelled of years of smoking. Strange layout, more resembling a barracks than a hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location off a side road made getting to it confusing. Complimentary breakfast was OK. Price of the room was reflective of the quality. More suited for groups using the small convention facility than families or business travelers.

I was not impressed with the Clarion Hotel in Springfield, MO. The pictures that it had posted online at booking did not reflect what the actual room looked like. The lobby was very nice and modern looking, but then you get to the room and it was disgusting. The hall carpet had so many stains on it, there was a giant hairball from who knows what outside one of the rooms and when we walked into our room you could see that it hadn't been vacuumed at all. They didn't even try to hide the fact that it wasn't vacuumed. There were shards of paper on the ground right when we entered the room and I found a wad of receipts right next to the bed. The bathroom was disgusting: it looked as though the floor hadn't been washed in a week! I was so disappointed in this hotel that I will honestly NEVER stay at a Clarion one ever again!

This hotel was not nice. It look as though they were trying to make changes however it had an smell that penetrated you nose when you walked in. It didn't look very clean and was a long way to get to. We were not happy at all.

This hotel upgraded us due to our first room not being properly cleaned. Our stay in the jacuzzi suite was well worth the initial inconvenience. The management really seems invested in turning this hotel around. The building is old and unusually laid out, but worth the discounted rate. Everything was comfortable and clean.

Booked the room online just before we headed out on the trip. Check in was a breeze and the hotel was a nice surprise. Good hot shower and comfortable bed in a clean room and a complimentary breakfast the next morning all made this a real value! Would definately stay here again.

Service was fine. Room clean. Great breakfast bar. AC units didn't work well. Too much humidity in one room, but they quickly arranged for another room. Comfortable, except its AC stayed on too high (couldn't get it too work right).

Hotel staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was better than most free ones. Although the facility is older it is clean and comfortable and a great value for the low price paid.

We stayed for one night only on our way to St. Louis and would stay again. The hotel is older, rooms are clean and the beds are good, so I was happy. Also breakfast is a full hot meal. I loaded my plate with eggs, biscuits and gravy, and fruit but there were lots of other choices too. The staff was great and very freindly.

Excellent central location. The hotel was well appointed, comfortable and an excellent value for the money

Everything was okay except on the last night we stayed there at 1:30 am the older gentleman next to us were being loud--woke both my fiance and I up. Management came twice... but nothing was ever done. This went on for an 1 1/2 hours! They should have been kicked out. It was ridiculous. Otherwise everything else was okay and the sports bar attached to the hotel was great!

Breakfast went from 6:00-10:00 and they let us pack some food for my mom who couldn't get there. The day we left they gave us breakfast at 6:00. We liked the hotel and the adjacent sport's bar.
