They wouldn't allow check-in before 4 pm assuring me they didn't have an equivalent room available even though the hotel was obviously empty. Instead, i was invited to wait for my room at the pricey restaurant/bar for 3 hours. Very inconvenient since most flights get in at noon. Advertised Happy hour times were changed to not accommodate people waiting for their rooms and lasted 20 minutes instead of a full hour.

My stay at Lagunamar was once again a wonderful experience. The staff is extremely helpful and cheerful. It is apparent they enjoy their job and that's what makes the difference. The hotel is located directly across the street from La Isla Outdoor Mall which has several dining options among shopping destinations. The grounds are clean and manicured. The beach is always clean without any garbage whatsoever. The pool is clean and does not reek of excess chlorine. The two restaurants have wonderful staff and delicious options; however the pricing seems to be a bit high. The bartenders "pour it like they don't own it" but once again, pricing seems a bit high. (take advantage of 2 for 1 happy hour) Concierge are educated and helpful with many discounts available for local clubs, restaurants and tours. The rooms are comfortable, stocked and clean. The beds are out of this world. There is an on-site childcare facility, spa, business center and convenience grocery store (I suggest taking the bus to Wal-Mart) I highly recommend you consider a stay here.

Great resort. I am already planning my return.

An outstanding hotel in Cancun - very comfortable rooms, great amenities, very friendly staff, across the street from a great Mall. Kids had a great time. I would definitely return to this hotel.

Everything was as expected.. confortable, clean & nice.. This hotel is for relax... excellent environment! Good for kids as well.

Overall nice property. The hotel is located on the beach across from La Isla Shopping Center with a bus stop right in front making it easy to get around Cancun (including Old Town) by bus which is the best way...cheap [8.5 pesos per ride], easy, every 5 min and 24 hrs. Free convenient on-site car parking as well. Nice infinity pool but lounge chairs poolside can be scarce at peak times as people put their stuff on chairs to "hold" them while they're elsewhere. Beach is excellent, but not a huge number of lounge chairs on the beach (but we didn't have a problem getting one)....no beach club here, so it is quiet but you can hear one up the way a bit. Good food/beverage service at the pool, but don't plan on it at the beach. Food at the pool is decent, but nothing special...drinks are very good. Make sure you get a ocean view room on a higher level (third floor or higher up to 7th....8th is owners units) to get a good ocean view or you might just see palm trees from the balcony. Non-smoking property although some people did at the pool without any trouble. Very clean rooms with a kitchen & small fridge. If you wanted, you could cook in your unit, plus there are nice bbq's & seating areas near the pool. Nice bathroom including a jacuzzi tub. Beds were very comfortable with nice pillows. Good AC control for even temp. Friendly staff. Would could've stayed longer and would go back again. Fairly good value for the price. The only downside is 10am checkout which is too early.

the rooms are big with a ful kitchen. beautiful bathrooms. great location next to the mall that has great places to eat and shop. would definitely stay there again.

I WAS THERE ON JULY 2011, WITH TWO ROOMS. ONE MINI REFRIG. DOSN'T WORK AND CHANGE FOR OTHER VERY FAST. THE BIG ROOM ON LIVINGROOM NO COURTAINS. INSTALLATION NEXT DAY IN THE MORNING. GOOD UBICATION, NICE BEACH, VERY CLEAN.

the location was great, right in front of the biggest shopping area, right in front of the bus stop, the pool was amazing it had a slide too,

Beautiful rooms, great place I highly recommend it!!!!

Our stay at the Westin Lagunamar was awesome. We went during off season which is the time major maintenance is performed. That didn't cause too much trouble except for some late night pressure washing-- we complained and it didn't happen again. The property was very clean, nice and comfortable. The staff was outstanding. Very friendly and they went out of their way to remember your name. The kitchenette and community BBQs make it possible for families to save a little by not going out for every meal. I would return and I definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful time at the Westin Lagunamar in Cancun. We loved the location. We will stay here again and we will recommend it to others.

There's nothing much we can complain about hotel itself, location, condition, amentities, all above average especially rate vs quality, it's unbeatable. However, their service in overall from reception, to housekeeping, to help desk, to front manager, none to in par with their actual hotel standard. Consider a Westin property, they're rude and undeliverable. Although the overall rating ends up at 4 due to the categories of this survey and I would still recommend others to go to this resort, but it's purely because of it's rate. In case if the rate is not at a lower-than-other-resorts then I will not recommend this hotel simply because of it's rough service.

We had a room with a view that was amazing!!! Doesn't look like there is a room that has a bad view. Great amenities, beautiful pool, overlooking the ocean.

The hotel is located across the street from the Isla Mall. There is a bus stop right outside the door to go other parts of the hotel zone, ferries, and downtown. Service was excellent at all the restaurants and concierge desk. Pool and ocean were magnificent.

Cannot express how great this Westin is! Stop wasting your time checking out other hotels, this is the NUMBER ONE place to stay. Great Pool, clean rooms, grounds, staff, concierge's are the best and most helpful, and we've traveled a lot the last 25 yrs. You will not be sorry, a terrific value, best American Style hotel in Cancun, close to Mall, Restaurants, smack dab in the middle of it all in Cancun, extremely quiet ande comfortable room and beds!!!

It is a nice hotel at a great location. Suitable for family with kids. Every room is equipped with kitchen and washer/dryer. I did 5 loads in 4 days stay. The mini grocery store is very convenient for getting essentials like milk, water, eggs and lunches. However, I wish they carry more fruits. The pool and beach is exactly like that on the photos. You won't be dissapointed. we definitely will come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay, had a room with a kitchen fully stocked with utensils, dishes, cookware, etc. Very quiet at night, though I suspect this was partially because we stayed in May and there didn't seem to be too many people there. Only complaint is the fridge was so loud I had to turn it off to sleep, which means we couldn't keep milk and other things that have to stay cold. Bed was firm which I happen to like, though a bit too firm for my wife. Great location with a shopping center across the street and several restaurants around.

Check in was quick as past reviews complained about this. The hotel room was just as expected with a kitchenette and laundry facilities a plus. We've stayed in Cancun plenty of times and tried a few time share hotels but this hotel did not nag and call constantly to meet with you about their time share oppertunities. Word to the wise, never answer your phone! The pool and surroundings weren't as impeccable as others we've stayed in such as the Royal Sands. They were doing pool renovations on the tile all week during the whole day which was annoying and loud. They should have waited till after happy hour when everyone clears out of the pool area. The pool wasn't as clean as expected, I never saw any vacuuming going on and the same particles were on the pool floor all the 5 days we were there. The food, restaurant and menus need an over-hall. The food was marginal for the price. Your best bet is to go to the hotel store to get basics for breakfast and lunch. They have great cut up fruit and sandwiches in the hotel store to get you through to dinner, which you need to go out of the hotel for! If you are looking for great food (which is hard to come by in Cancun, go to Terraneo across from the Royal Sands. I would definitely stay at the Lagunamar again because of location. Everything is accessible on foot, especially with La Isla mall directly across the street.

The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort was fantastic. Everyone was courteous and extremely helpful. My four children took me to Cancun for a special birthday. The views from our balconies were great. The pools, beach, and water were beautiful. We rented four rooms for the eight of us. We all want to go back and definitely stay at the Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort. You cannot beat the resort for the service, beauty, cleanliness, and the price. We will be back.

Hotel staff is great. Hotel itself is absolutely AMAZING. It is close to main things on the hotel strip and you can walk everywhere. Beach was great. Had a great time.

Brand new, great hotel, great location, good staff.

Buena en terminos basicos, buena habitacion, buena playa, instalaciones pero trato poco personalizado, el check inn era hasta las 4 pm y yo llegue un poco mas temprano pero no se ofrecio una habitacion por ejemplo para cambiarme, y lo peor el check inn es a las 10 am... es el primer resort que veo con estas caracteristicas... normalmente inicias a las 11 am.. es decir no estuve ni 12 horas en el hotel y la relacion costo vs tiempo no cumplio mis expectativas... hable a la zona fel front desk para extender mi habitacion en el tema de la salida y pagar mas.. pero me decian que estaba al 100% de capacidad el resort... pero a simple vista de tabas cuenta que no era cierto... Para una estadia corta no es la mejor opcion.. El restaurant para comer entre las 12 y 6 pm, tiene poca opcion de alimentos que fue lo que tratar de hacer para hacer tiempo ya que yo llegue a la 1:30 y tuve que esperar hasta las 4 para mi habitacion.

Excelente hotel, servicio ,la atención del personal , la ubicación frente a plaza La Isla y la playa extensa, y la habitacion tiene ademas de cocina con lavavajilla y todos los utensilios un placard con lavasecarropas,excelente.

Escelente ubicacion para plan familiar. Habitaciones muy bien acondicionadas. Volveria con gusto.

Très bel hôtel. Ce n'est pas une simple chambre d'hôtel que nous avons eu, l'espace comprenait une grande chambre avec deux grandes portes coulissantes pour plus d'intimité, un sofa-lit, une cuisine complète (four, micro-ondes, frigo, grille-pain, petits appareils électrique, broyeur, etc) une grande salle de bain avec toilette et grande douche à part, immense bain. Le site est très beau, très propre et le personnel très accueillant. La plage est magnifique, les vagues sont un peu fortes par contre, deux lifeguard sont assignés en permanence, chose qui est rare. Plusieurs chaises longues à notre disponibiité ainsi que des parasols, serviettes de plage propres à tous les jours. Nous avions 3 BBQ à notre disponibilité avec table et chaises, ce qui permet aux petites familles de se préparer un repas. Pour s'approvisionner, nous sommes allés au Walmart (leur épicierie publique) qui était à 20 min en autobus. Je recommande fortement cet endroit et nous comptons y retourner l'an prochain.

O hotel e muito bem localizado, afastado da area de agito noturno , mas em frente a um shopping muito agradavel . O unico fato que lamentei em minha estadia no hotel foi no meu check in. Apos uma exaustiva viagem eu e minha familia so conseguimos nosso quarto apos as 17:30. Qdo perguntei a funcionaria qual o horario para entrada no hotel, ela me respondeu que nao havia horario certo?!?! Eu deveria esperar meu quarto ficar pronto....(no folheto do hotel esta 16 hs). Bom , compreendo que pode ter havido um atraso,mas o que lamento foi o fato do hotel nao ter reconhecido isso....

Vale muito ficar no hotel!!!!

La atencion por parte del personal fue excelente, las instalaciones son magnificas, agradecemos que nos hayan brindado una estancia feliz.

プール、ビーチ、ロケーションにおいては大満足です。 キッチンも食器含めて充実していたので長期滞在にももってこいです。 オーシャンビューでしたが部屋からの景色もポスターのようでしたし、ベッドも快適。部屋のホットタブのジャグジーも気持ち良かったです。きれいで清潔な空間でした。

No período que me hospedei no hotel The Westin Lagunamar não encontrei um ponto negativo sequer. É um hotel lindo, muito grande, quartos grandes (o studio, porque o villa é gigante). Otima localização (em frente a um shopping e perto de outro). Atendentes super-atenciosos. Só não tem o sistema All-inclusive. Recomendadíssimo.

Fue mi primer viaje a Cancun con mis hijos: 17 y 8 annos, y escogimos este Hotel porque me ofrecian las facilidades de una villa, la verdad es que lleno mis espectativas: la habitacion impecable y con todo lo necesario: cocina, lavador, secadora, sofa cama y para terminar de impresianrnos enfrentte de Centro Comercial La Isla.

Los cuartos son amplios, y la cocina incluida es sumamente practica. Los niños disfrutan mucho la piscina y el tobogan de agua. Excelente lugar frente al centro comercial la Isla. Unico problema es la playa, que tiene olas muy fuertes, y que la arena tiene muchas conchas.

Obsługa z front desku bardzo miła i przyjazna zrobiła pozytywne pierwsze wrażenie niestety pokój który dostaliśmy był nie całkiem przygotowany. Brudna wanna, brak mydełek, kurz, nie uzupełniony coffe set, brudne szyby, krzywo pościelone łóżko itd. Po prostu pośpieszny housekeeping znacznie poniżej standardu 4*. Spodziewaliśmy sie czegoś więcej po sieci Westin. Sytuacja z kiepskim sprzątaniem powtarzała w kolejnych dniach aż do momentu kiedy poprosiliśmy o rozmowę z managerem. Potem pokój był sprzątany na medal. W czasie załatwiania różnych spraw widoczny jeszcze brak zgrania obsługi i brak komunikacji front desk-concierge-housekeeping i czasem trzeba się fatygować do wszystkich po kolei żeby czegoś sie dowiedzieć lub załatwić co bywa irytujące. Hotel generalnie jest w dobrym stanie, oddany w 2008 i jeszcze miejscami wykańczany, ale w sposób nie przeszkadzający gościom. Mimo krytycznych uwag otrzymana promocja sprawiła że stosunek jakość/cena wyszedł bardzo pozytywnie. Duży plus dla hotelu za pokój studio z kuchnią bardzo użyteczne rozwiązanie. Architektura i wystrój mogą się podobać na tle innych hoteli w Cancun, lokalizacja bardzo dobra na przeciwko centrum handlowego, plaża czysta ale brak parasoli i leżaków co utrudnia cieszenie się nią. To samo nad basenem, trzeba "rezerwować" miejsce wcześnie rano, bo potem nie ma gdzie się położyć. Kilka razy zdarzyło się że zabrakło ręczników plażowych. Hotel z potencjałem ale na razie nie wykorzystanym a szkoda.

O Hotel está muito bem localizado, em frente ao shopping La Isla. Os apartamentos têm uma pequena cozinha, que ajuda muito quem quer mais liberdade para fazer refeiçoes no quarto sem gastar muito. O hotel tambem tem uma mercearia, com ótimos produtos. A piscina é excelente e a praia idem.
