We had a great stay at the Westin for one night post our cruise. We arrived early and the bellman took our luggage and the reception called us when the room was ready. Fantastic! 1 hour earlier than checkin. And the hotel the night before was totally booked. The pool grill food was terrible and would choose not to eat there and service poor. Had to wait 20 mins to place an order when tables not full. Hotel in great location and had a walkway over road to beach across the street. Pool is pretty good here. The W hotel next door( fantastic hotel over there I would 100 per cent recommend that hotel, more upscale and modern style pool amazing over there). Service was fantastic here and cabs readily available. Would recommend a twelve dollar cab ride to las Olas for dinner and dessert. One great restaurant after another there. It's about 10 blocks long of nice upscale restaurants and shops. Weird pocket door for bathroom and a wood window door (keep closed so people in bedroom wont see you do your business in bathroom and shower haha). Airport close by. Excellent service except don't eat at pool cafe. I would recommend to stay here. Very comfortable.

Hectic weekend check-in. Location of our room was awful. Overlookingr roof top, smack into other side of building and could only see air conditioner units. Called front desk to change room and they would not honor the request. Layout of hotel is very poor. Had to wait over an hour to get seated for breakfast, even though there were several open tables. Once seated,waited over an hour to get food! Very disappointing for a Westin Hotel. The Valet staff, however, WAS EXCELLENT!!!!

We had a reservation for three rooms and requested that they be adjoining and/or next to each other. Our request was ignored, and when we checked in, we found out that not only were the rooms not on the same floor, they were in a totally different building. They didn't pay any attention to our request. And one room looked out literally directly at a brick wall about two feet away from the window - it was very unattractive. Another problem - the pool area is way too crowded - much too small for a hotel of that size. And the beach area was also too small, and there weren't enough chairs. I also had to request that the room be cleaned several times. While the location is good, I would not stay there again - especially if I went at a busy time and I needed more than one room.

Great first experience with Westin. Comfortable room. Got upgraded to a partial ocean view. I like the idea of opting out of daily room cleaning, Pool and gym were well taken care of. My only recommendation is to add more employees on Sunday because check-in and checkout made the lobby area incredibly busy with lines at the desk and normal traffic flow in and out of the hotel. Other than that, which I consider a minor nuisance, I would definitely stay again

The hotel was very nice, but the fronk desk staff was poor. Did not want to go out of there way to please us. Also the cleaning staff pickup my white nike golf shirt by error and can not located it. So it is lost.

Received an upgrade to a beautiful room facing the ocean at check-in. We had just drove over 2000 miles from Colorado and couldn't ask for a better place to park and get out. Very friendly staff. We travel world wide and honestly, this is one of the hotels that we will remember and hope we are lucky enough to return to.

Location, Location, Location. The only con was that the AC unite was a little noisy. Staff was excellent.

I would strongly recommend not staying here. The staff was not friendly and very poor service at the pool and the pool bar. The overall hotel seemed very poorly organized and run. Staff seemed very poorly trained with no expectations. Not worth the money and certainly not what I would expect from a Westin and for the amount I paid!

Absolutely amazing, best hotel I have ever stayed at !!!! The service was spectacular, wait staff was excellent and the food at Shula's restaurant was perfect, would recommend to any one staying in Fort Lauderdale.

Front desk clerk was not friendly. My room was in the South Tower which was a nice hike from the main entrance and clearly not "refurbished" to the caliber of other Westin's that I have stayed in. Room was very small. Due to its proximity to the ocean and the "nightlife" the oustide noise was also very loud... police sirens at night, traffic noise, and a marathon that started at the crack of dawn with a drumline playing non-stop from 7a-9a. I was disappointed and not likely to stay here again or recommend this hotel.

Don't spend the money for a "better" priced hotel this is the spot on the beach with all you WANT and NEED (two things that make us all happy). I will be back in Florida and this is my hub for travel all around Florida. Thank you staff for a pleasurable experience and I WILL see you all again.

The convenience of the hotel comparied to the neighborhood amenities was great. A lot of places are nearby within walking distance. The covered walkway / bridge to the beach was especially nice. Ironically none of the other hotels had that, so walking across the street can get sketchy during peak hours. I'm not a coffee drinker, but there is a Starbucks in the south tower - I do love their tazo teas. The room was hard to regulate the temperature. NOTE: the air will NOT turn on unless you have the sliding glass door closed. (No one at the front desk is going to tell you this.) Besides that, I loved the comfy bed... the ocean view from the room... the chaise lounge (for reading / relaxing... the spacious bath... the variety of movies accessible for purchase [if you want a "date night" in your room]... and the number of taxis available on standby. Beware of internet charges randomly posted to your bill. We did NOT bring laptops nor use their wifi since we both have iPhones. Yet we were charged for logging into their wifi on two (2) different days. I had to physically show the front desk that wifi was diasabled on my phone. We had to fight for the charges to be removed from our bill at checkout. Overall, would I re-book the hotel again in the future? Yes. Definitely.

Bathroom door only slides closed so not much privacy and the sheets don't stay on the bed! Spa and gym were awesome--really enjoyed the massage

Most (not all ) of the staff was very rude. Rooms weren't as clean as most Westin locations. There was vomit on the floor that we complained about 3 times and by the time we checked out it was still there (total of 2 days).

Nice enclosed walkway over highway to awesome beach beach. Pool was clean and service was excellent. Downstairs restaurant Shula's had delicious food and the service was excellent. Room didn't get cleaned one day, but that may have been because we were in and out all morning due to nasty weather. As soon as we called they were prompt with towel service. I would recommend this Westin and if we visit the area again I would definitely stay there. Hotel was conveniently located (walking) to nice, casual and friendly restaurants with outstanding food.

The room was ok. I thought housekeeping was fine, but the white comforter was a little worn. The bathroom was also strange. The shower only had a glass divider that went halfway down the tub. Every time I showered, there was water everywhere. Since the bathroom didn't have a fan, the water didn't dry quickly. The staff was great. They were all friendly and helpful. If I was going back, I would take a look at other hotels first.

The staff were very friendly and professional. i enjoyed my stay very much and felt very well taken care of. My room was dusty but other than that I have to say everything was nice.

BATHROOM DOOR IS A SLIDING POCKET TYPE DOOR W/VENTS. YOU CAN CLEARLY HEAR A OCCUPANT IN THE BATHROOM AND WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS THEY ARE CONDUCTING. NO EXHAUST FAN

My husband and i decided to take a weekend getaway for Labor day weekend with my parents and I love to stay at great hotels. The hotel itself was great! Beautiful rooms and decor, great location on Sunrise and the beach but the service at Shula's and pool bar was terrible!!! Our first night there we dined at Shula's and ordered Surf n Turf, after 15 min of waiting the server comes back and says" I am so sorry we dont have lobster but I can get you shrimp instead for the same price" I laughed and we decided to get in the car and go to a restaurant over near The Galleria Mall. The next day we went down for breakfast, service was terrible. We waited 35 min for our food, 15 min sugar and creme for our now cold coffee and the waitress spilled a drink on my mom's dress! Around lunch time we went to hang out by the pool, which was nice except there was over a 45 min wait to get lounges or a cabana! Once we found a place to tan, we decided to order food and drinks for Ocean's pool side bar. What a joke! The waitress came up to us and said " I will be right back with your menus" and NEVER CAME BACK!!!!!

The staff were great BUT the carpet in the room was so dirty, full of spots and the AC didn't work very well, it would go off and on all night long. The beds were doubles and for two adults, not much space. Parking fees are abusive, too expensive and if a guest comes for a visit they (we ) have to pay almost a half day fee, just for two hours. The pool, view and location are very nice.

First of all! This is a nice hotel. Excellent service and clean and nice rooms. The food at Shula's was tasty and reasonably priced. However, to charge $25 per night for parking and not include WiFi in the rooms are just strange. The concierge was really helpful och professional.

In general, this was a very nice hotel. I stayed there for 3 nights, and the big downside of the hotel was that each night when I tried to take a shower, the water was cold. The water was not much better in the morning being only lukewarm.

We were just getting away for a romantic Saturday night and we got it. The Ocean View Room was spectacular, as was the pool, beach, walkway over A1A, the service, and everything else. The bed was super comfortable. And yes, that fantastic smell from the lobby was awesome. We bought a candle of the scent for home here in Miami. Although our room was not ready at check-in (3 PM) they made it up with a later checkout. Great place. We will be back.

I completely enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and my room was clean and comfortable. The location was amazing. Close to shopping, beach and attractions.

upon arrival we were treated well by the staff. all were helpful. The room was clean and well appointed and the pool area was clean and guests all looked after. The location was also very good and we used the amenities such as pool and bar and the service was very positive. Jorge was a very helpful concierge and looked after our needs and got us rental vehicles and cared for us greatly. We will stay there again.

We loved the Westin Beach Resort and had a surprisingly pleasant stay! Typically convention resorts do not cater to families but the attention to detail - even for families with children - was wonderful. Our only disappointments were that there were no balconies facing the ocean and free wi-fi was not included. For the price of the accommodations and the location, these two drawbacks may prevent us from staying again. But, overall, the hotel was very enjoyable!

My girlfriend and I met in Ft. Lauderdale for a girl’s weekend and had a fantastic stay at the Westin. It didn't hurt getting upgraded to an ocean view on the top floor. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom didn't bother us but I can see the shutter door not being enough privacy for some. The service at the pool was great and when the building blocked the sun we just headed to the beach. The Westin is a great location and easy walking distance to Casablanca and some beach bars that aren't so touristy.

Good locations. Shulas is horrible at this location do not waste the money go to one of the local spots. There was a huge "Passover" group there for the Easter holiday so I didnt enjoy the crowd but the hotel pool is nice and they have a walk way that goes over 1a and an elevator down to the beach so you could be at the beach in 2 minutes. Good luck getting a chair at the pool or at the beach if your not there by 7am. Close to everything and would probably stay at again.

The rooms were clean and the staff was courteous and helpful. No complaints. Valet parking is mandated. It cost $25, but you can leave and return as often as you want for no additional cost. There’s a pedestrian bridge outside the hotel which provides safe passage between the hotel and the beach. The A1A can be a very busy road to cross. Otherwise, there’s a nice pool at the hotel. Get there early for a seat. They fill up quickly. There are bars, restaurants, and shops within a 5 to10 minute walk. Food, drinks, and souvenirs are a little pricy, but that’s the way it is everywhere in that area.

It's a very nice hotel, I had a room with ocean view, very clean and comfortable. The service is good, special mention for the smell in the lobby, it must come from the spa..very pleasant. We stayed there with my wife, but I would be very comfortable coming back with my 2 kids

Great location. No complaints. The hotel staff was helpful and polite. The room was even nicer than we expected. We only wish our stay there was longer. Perfect!

THE STAY WAS GOOD. PRICED RIGHT. EVERYTHING YOU NEEDED WAS RIGHT THERE. THE CONCEIRGE (THE GUY) WAS GREAT. HELPED US OUT A LOT AND WENT OUT OF HIS WAY! KUDOS!

My wife and I stayed in Fort Lauderdale for a long weekend prior to departing on a cruise. The Westin Beach Resort was ideally located and fairly priced. Shula's is a nice destination for a fine dinner. The pool is great and so close to the beach, with easy and safe covered access above the A1A. Within walking distance of many desirable locations in Ft. Lauderdale. The room is well-appointed with great views of the ocean. I would strongly recommend the Westin Beach Resort.

After our bothersome check-in, (someone else in the room we were given), we were given a complimentary breakfast. The service was disappointing, very slow, but the food was good. On our 2nd day there, someone else had a key to our room and opened our day. We were hesitant to leave any of our belongings in the room when we left for the afternoon. It took half an hour for Security to come "interrogate" our lock and then we never heard another word about it. I don't feel comfortable staying there again.
