The location of this hotel is better than others because it's at the end of the beach. It is wide and has beautiful sand and there is a long break-wall of large concrete blocks. It allows for great swimming -- and calmer water. The hotel staff is excellent. The food was very good, although the breakfast buffet is expensive. My room faced away from the beach, which is fine except when you open the slider to sit on the balcony and hear the constant roar of the six loud air conditioning units from the massive Fiesta American hotel across the street. Nice workout room, beautiful lobby and great restaurant (The Grill) which is inside/outside with views of the water and the pool. Easy walk to Coco Bongo and to other nearby clubs and restaurants.

Highly recommend the Regency Club level where you get a continental breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres and drinks which are more than enough to satisfy you as a full meal. Excellent view of the ocean, free bottled waters left every day. Would stay again.

Within 3 blocks from clubs, restaurants, watersports and shopping. Beautiful property, very attentive staff, and very comfortable rooms.

I have been to can cun twice before this visit and this location by far is the best. On the point at the end of the hotel zone. Very short walk to the main restaurants. Property was at the Hyatt regency standard without a doubt . I upgraded to the club level and definitely worth the extra money. Continental break fast was good. Nice to have cocktails and apps included. Had decent wines and most beers. That alone covered the extra change. When I went to check in, bell men had my name and took us right up to the club level to check in. Offered us cocktails even though it was after the cocktail hour. Service was excellent! Rooms were nice. Not the most comfortable bed in the world but fine. I would definetly return. One word of caution with the vendors on the street selling tours, buy from a kiosk that is close to the hotel and a permanent kiosk. I bought one by Carlos and Charlie's that was not as nice and we were left off the list. We wasted two hours in the am waiting in front of the hotel and missed any option to get on a tour to tulum/chel hah. Had to rent a car which was fine. Was able to get my $100 deposit back but a bad experience. Overall it is very safe in can cun and even driving outside the city on the toll roads to the major attractions.

Hotel was very nice, clean and in an absolute great location! Beach was clean and not many people. We loved it except, it isn't very child friendly. They refused to empty out the fridge so we could keep our toddler's milk cold. They tried to accomadate by offering to put it in the restaurant's fridge but it was not convenient for us. Even with that, it was a very nice place but it's mostly for adults.

PROS: Location is very convenient. 3 minutes walk to "Zona Hotelera" central. Actually this can be considered as Cancun Central. Don't try to find a touristic central in Cancun Downtown. There are just a few tourist-friendly places and they are not in one line. The beach is clean,not crowded and easy to access sea. The design of the hotel is nice. BUT if there are noisy people downstairs, their sounds can be herd up on 10th floor. There is a tour representative of Expedia and Best Buy in the hotel, to whom you can trust. CONS: At least hakf of the front desk staff does not make eye contact. It is an effort to understand whether they reply you, ask you something or talk to eachother. they seem like murmuring. Internet is expensive (more than 16dollars per day,per computer) and it is not working efficiently in the rooms. And they don't have technical support team in the hotel on Sundays. Very interesting. Breakfast could be included for the same price.

we had a beautiful ocean view room on the 11th floor and the room was very contemporary and comfortable; the only complaint i have about Cancun in general is how extremely aggressive the locals can be with trying to sell you an excursion which is pretty much nonstop since this hotel is in the "hotel zone" and near the convention center. the hotel itself is lovely and the breakfast buffet was a little expensive for a buffet but the food was good. The hotel's beach area was also very beautiful.

Overall, my experience at the Hyatt Regency in Cancun was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean and neat. And the lobby was impressive. I was very pleased with the money exchange services at the front desk, it really helped us and the rate was better than the rate at other places that we went. I strongly recommend the breakfast at the hotel; it was abundant, fresh and delicious. (Please avoid a restaurant called MOCAMBO, I don’t recommend it).

We completely enjoyed our stay. Staff was completely accommodating, helpful, professional, and courteous. Rooms were tasteful and well stocked. Floors get slippery when air is on and you open sliding doors to balcony from humidity so be careful. Terrace lounge was very relaxing and pleasant. Beach is beautiful.

We only stayed at the Hyatt for one night, but it was really great. The room, facilities, pool area, beach, spa and breakfast were great. Not a big fan of the hotel zone in Cancun, but liked the hotel.

Do not believe any negative reviews about this hotel. It was brilliant from the start. We decided to upgrade to the Regency club upon arrival and this was accomodated. What a wise decision. An unbelievable view and the Regency club perks well easily worth it. Don't go anywhere else!

This was our first time going to Cancun and it wasnt bad. The hotel is ok. The people who work for the hotel were GREAT. Rooms were just ok. Beach was great and the water was very calm!! Pool was nice and it was great to hang at the swim up bar. Food was GREAT!!! Hyatt has a promotion going on right now that you can pay for credit. So you spend 200.00 and get 400.00 in credit. It was great as everything was expensive!!! This hotel is more for the younger generation as it was somewhat on the louder side at 2 am when everyone was coming back from the bars. We just got back the we were told that the hotel was 100 percent booked the whole week we were there and honestly i didnt see very many people in the pools or on the beachs. It was nice.

Nice clean room. Close to convention center and other shops/restaurants. Got a double bonus deal while staying there. The price in the Grill is reasonable compared to outside restaurants.

Hotel stay was great. They've spent a ton of money restoring the beach, so the difference from this year from last was night and day. Strangely, the grass was mostly dead this year though. That being said, rooms were clean and staff was very accomodating. A little Spanish goes a long way-- there were some things that we requested that simply weren't understood in English. Best Day / Expedia rep on "P" level was a huge help in arranging things to do as well.

This hotel was a huge disappointment. Paid serious money for a very tired, dirty, stained room....couches stained - disgusting, bathtub flaking, mirrors all losing reflective backing, bed headboard dirty....smelly pillows, pool tired, lawn tired, staff slow....This was a nightmare and huge mistake. Stayed at Westin in Cancun 4 years ago, paid less and it was very classy....Would not recommend this place to anyone. Greatly overpaid....big mistake.

Fabulous hotel with gorgeous views of the beach and sea. Staff really friendly and helpful. Facilities excellent, bar was great, gym, pools and restaurant. Really clean rooms and hotel in general. Not a great selection of restaurants nearby, hotel restaurant good and good steakhouse nearby but not many other restaurants. Well recommended, would visit again

The beach was very nice and not so crowded, although the sand was not the most comfortable to walk in barefoot. The swimming pool was decent but nothing extraordinary. The room was clean and comfortable, although the lack of on-demand movies was disappointing. Of the dining options, we only had the brunch buffet, but this was excellent with a multitude of options and reasonably priced. The hotel staff was friendly and very receptive to questions, although their advice we found was not altogether accurate, so it may be useful to consult other sources. The hotel is also centrally located in the hotel zone, and many nightlife and dining options are within walking distance. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for any purpose, as most of our complaints were minor, but there may be cheaper options in the hotel zone that provide the same level of amenities and service. For those looking for the spring break experience, the Krystal next door may be a better option.

We upgraded to the Regency Club, which really made our stay more pleasant. We were met in the parking lot and instructed to leave our car out front. We were escorted to the 14th floor for a private check-in, which was very classy and relaxing. It just so happened to be during the Club's happy hour, so we just stayed and enjoyed ourselves. Eventually staff asked for my car keys, offering to move my car out of the circle drive area. What service! The happy hour and lounge were excellent! The continental breakfast was very nice. Our flight back to the US was cancelled due to a snowstorm, and the concierge made several calls and allowed us to use her phone (for nearly an hour) to reschedule our flight, She was a lifesaver and saved us a huge international phone bill. The beach is very nice. Location is ideal.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Regency Cancun. The location is great- walking distance to the major clubs, close to public transportation, and taxis are readily accessible. The beach is beautiful and the pool area (while smaller than other hotels) is nice as well. Aside from our indifferent welcome at the reception desk, all of the employees were very friendly and eager to help. The service was great. The breakfast buffet is adequate (nothing to write home about) but convenient. We dined at The Grill twice. The food was delicious and the service outstanding. The only real disappointment was our room. It was clean- no complaints there, but for the price we were expecting it to be a little nicer. However, it was perfectly adequate and I wouldn't mind staying there again on another trip to Cancun.

Great hotel, nice location, cute modern rooms, comfy beds. Room smelled a bit musty but that is to expected with many of these beach hotels. The shower could have been better (lightbulb exploded, luckily we were not in shower at time). Good tv system and pleasant reception. Overall very nice stay.

Hyatt is greatly center in Cancun Hotel Zone, the staff is very helpful and attentive. The hotel is clean and right on the beautiful beach. Only downside is the hotel lobby atmosphere gives you the sensation of emptyness. Not much going on on the lobby. Otherwise is great!

this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and does not deserve to be part of the Hyatt chain

This was my first time in Cancun and I was pleasantly surprised with its closeness to all of the action! The hotel beach is also great (even though it is man-made) and the ocean water was very serene and great to swim in. I talked with several patrons who were staying at another hotel, and they informed me that their ocean water was too choppy to swim in and was thoroughly enjoying the Hyatt's water. The hotel is on the smaller end compared to other resorts, which was fine for my taste. There are 3 pools: 1 children's pool, 1 swim up bar pool, and 1 regular pool. I enjoyed staying under the beach huts, overlooking the ocean. From the pool, you aren't able to enjoy the ocean view. The service on the beach was infrequent. If you wanted something, you were pretty much left to waiting a good 15-20 minutes until a server came out to service someone else. At the pool, the service was much better as they were able to see you in plain sight. The food at the pool was ok. I think the best thing I ate was the fish and chips. Avoid the crunchy tacos, caeser salad, quesadilla and any mixed cocktails. They do not know how to mix drinks at this place. Stick with beer. The only hangup we had was the housekeeping. When we arrived, our TV remote wasn't working, so we called for a new one. They brought one, but then the next day after housekeeping had come, both remotes were gone. We had to call again for another remote. Also, one of the days after housekeeping had come, they had taken all of our towels and did not leave new ones. We had to call to get 2 sets of towels delivered to the room. I'm not particularly picky when it comes to hotels, but housekeeping should be one of the basics that a hotel gets right. The Hyatt got it wrong. Otherwise, no complaints with the hotel.

As soon as we arrived at the Hyatt Regency in Cancun, I could tell it was a modest hotel compared to all the huge resorts, but I was amazed at how beautiful the hotel lobby was, and the lounge, and the pool, and view, the restaurants, everything! The room was nice and had a contemporary decoration, the guy at the reception asked if we would like to upgrade for an ocean view for an extra $20 a night, which we refused, but we had a view nonetheless!! We were walking distance from the main Cancun Nightlife and many restaurants, and shopping centers. The beach at the hotel was most definitely the best there is, just calm and the water so nice. The restaurant had really great food and for very reasonable price. The staff was so friendly and hospital. They do make you sign a form that you won't be bringing food in, but they don't really enforce it. We snuck it in a couple times. Overall, we had a great experience at this hotel, I would recommend it just for the convenience of it. Can't wait to come back!

I never recommend the hotel to visit Cancun in rainy season. Air conditionar doesn't work to dry up the room at all. Bed sheets and blankets get champ and stale. Wet swim suits don"t dry up in the room. Air condition in the room is pretty discomfort.

just a brilliant hotel with a great restaurant. so clean, generally visually appealing, with comfortable beds and a great beach right outside. seriously, the grill restaurant food is delicious and we hardly saw people in there - definitely worth a visit. thumbs up!

Hotel is in a good location, close to busy areas service was excellent, the reception helped return our camera after leaving it in the shuttle bus. room was clean and spacious and had a spectactular ocean view would recommend the hyatt regency to anyone visiting cancun

The hotel is not new but the rooms and social areas have been recently renovated. They look modern and comfortable with top luxury bathrooms and bedrooms. The location is excellent walking distance to all of Cancun's nightlife and in the tip of the bay such that all rooms have great view. The gym, pool and restaurants are excellent and the beach is fantastic. Totally recommended for great value.

Hotel is very nice and in a great location. If you want to be near the parties it's within walking distance. Bus stop is about two blocks away. I would caution that a lot of younger people stay here so there may be some noise at times but not enough tio deter me from staying again.

Great staff but just about everything else was horrible. They wanted to charge extra for another person, food was over priced and not very good, no outside food was allowed in the hotel, security alarm went off twice before 7am and the staff could have cared less. Great location though!

I was very happy at the Hyatt Regency Cancún - comfortable beds, beautiful view, great pools, helpful/friendly staff, great location. My only criticism would be that the pillowcases were threadbare and had holes in the corners. But that's all! Otherwise it was fantastic.

WOW IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY... THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST HOTELS I HAVE STAYED AT. IT REALLY EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTAIONS. SO MUCH SO WE WERE GOING TO STAY FOR 4 DAYS AND WE STAYED AN EXTRA DAY. THE BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT. THE HOTEL IS VERY CLOSE TO THE CENTER OF TOWN WITH IN WALKING DISTANCE OF GREAT RESTAURANTS AND SHOPPING.

The rooms were clean and modern, the facility was well staffed with nice, pleasant people, and they had genuine care for customer service.

Great hotel, views, service. Overall We are very satisfied customers. If we go to Cancun, Mexico again, we will definitely stay there. Customer service is amazing, the food great. The only flaw is that does not have beach access, but really, when you get to this hotel, you would not miss that a bit. Great hotel. Thanks!

Wonderful location and really nice hotel. I was disappointed that there was no beach behind the hotel, except for a small one next door. But other than that, it was great!

If you want to fantastic vacation, just make a reservation now. When open your eyes in the morning, you find out that your dream will come true. Have a great vacation with Hyatt Rengency Hotel in Cancun.

This service at this hotel was outstanding! Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms were nicely decorated, although the beds were a little too firm for our taste. Overall, a nice place to stay for the price we paid.

The hotel didn't provide any water, coffee, and charged me 50 US for 2 cans of coke from the minibar.... The area is very expensive, i can spend less in New York for a bottle of water. If you like people in your room whether you like it or not, this is the place to go.

This was a great hotel. It is located immediately next to the very expensive Dreams resort and several other nice hotels. It is within easy walking distance of several good restaurants and shopping areas. The hotel itself has limited facilities, perhaps because it was the slow season. The main restaurant was not open for dinner and the hotel deli was closed. The gift shop does not sell drinks, so one must either use the minibar, go to the restaurant or go to the convenience store across the street to get something to drink. The restaurant does serve a very good breakfast, which is included in the price. The rooms are very nice with flat screen TV's. Each room does appear to have a thermostat, but it seemed to have limited usefulness, as we were not able to get the room to cool to below 75. This is fine for day time, but at night it was a little uncomfortable. Computers are available for access to the Internet in the Business Center for a charge. The staff is nice and accommodating.
