Staff were very helpful and professional. Loved my room and the view was to die for. For NYC the rooms are large and the views cannot be equaled.

The hotel is undergoing renovation on one side (no noise from this). This is the moment to stay here, as rates will go up significantly when it is done. The views are fabulous, and the beds are great. If you are arriving / departing from Grand Central, the location is perfect, as you can walk over. The staff is very helpful. There is a fee for wireless - just go to a nearby cafe. There are quick "special" buses up 1st ave and down 2nd ave if you walk to 42nd street (special means that they only stop every 10 blocks and are nearly as fast as a taxi- but you buy your ticket from a machine before getting on). The "special bus" makes this a great location for anyone who prefers bus to subway.

It was the worse hotel experience ever, rooms were filthy, smelly and if not for the inconvenience to cost my family, we would have gone to another hotel.We will never go back or recommend this hotel to anybody.

Fantastic staff. In particularly the bell service was just outstanding. They were the most helpful and pleasant, we have ever met. Some of the rooms were in need of renovation. Then again that was taking place, but in no way disturbed us. Wonderful views to eastern part of Manhattan. Great experience overall

This hotel is ok but could use some TLC. Rooms look and feel a little old. Great views of the city, though.

This hotel is not near all the touristy areas, so it's quiet. It may take a little bit of a walk to get to the more happening areas, but there are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The rooms are a little on the small side, but a fabulous bathroom and view made up for it - plus, who stays in their room in NYC??? The bed was super comfy and the hotel seemed to have all the amenities necessary. Very clean, very quiet, very safe as well. All in all, saving money by staying at this hotel worked out perfectly - more money to spend in NYC, and more walking through wonderful NY neighborhoods. Would definitely stay again.

Generous rooms (for NYC) and fastidiously kept. The large bathrooms are wonderful. Only issue was that guest cannot change the room temp.

The service was fantastic, However, we found a hair in a towel. but overall the room was clean and veiw was great!

Very convenient to Grand Central and UN, and very comfortable.

It was very comfortable. The gym/pool/sauna was awesome!

Huge room, comfy bed. View was great! Can't wait to stay here again.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. Our room was quite dated, and looked as if it needed a good cleaning. The first night was swelteringly hot and by the second day you couldnt even breathe in our room (and believe me I am Always cold!). I called the front desk and they did send a nice gentleman up to fix it. While he was working on it dust was flying everywhere. I forgot my daughters toothbrush and called the front desk who informed me they dont have complimentary toothbrushes but there was a drugstore down the street. Well it was almost midnight in NYC! Not only was I not going down the street alone, I was not leaving my kids in a hotel room alone, so I thought that was petty that they didnt even have a lousy toothbrush. Otherwise the hotel is nice and in a decent location.

our room was shabby and was a little dirty. under the bed was dirty, bathroom door had a blood stain of some sort (thank goodness for clorox wipes) and lots of dust in the corners. Room service is pretty pricing, but there were some decent restaurants near by.Last thing, no free wireless which stunk. I probably would not stay there again, I expected more for what we paid and we only got the bare minimum.

Great location and views of the city and/or rivers.

I was reluctant to book this hotel as I normally stay closer to the theatre district, but am so glad I did! This is now one of my new "favorites"!

The view was amazing on every floor...

My friend and I stayed here for only one night, but it was perfect for our needs. The room was very spacious with beautiful views of NYC. My only complaint about the room is that the bathrooms, while fairly roomy, are in dire need of renovation. I think I had the same bathtub in my house in the '70's. The hotel seems to cater to business travelers, mostly those who have business at the UN across the street, so if you're in the City to party, I don't think this is a good fit, but the location is superb, within walking distance of midtown. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic hotel. Room was awesome although bathroom was a little behind the times. View over Manhatten was exquisite. For a weekend getaway it was a little far from subway stops. The hotel staff and service more than made up for the extra walking time.

We did not check into the hotel until midnight. We were told they did no have our room (2 double beds) and had to upgrade us to a "large suite." The suite was wonderful - 2 floors, 2 bedrooms, 3 baths and a view of the East River, Chrysler Building & Empire State Building. The beds were amazing and the linens very soft. The rooms appeared very clean. Most of the decor was a bit dated -- a dishwasher from the early 80s, mirrors along every wall, and desk and end tables that had seen better days. But the three flat screen tvs and wonderful beds made our one night stay perfect.

If meeting for Business with Gov bodies no better place. Good Pool and facilities and very easy access. Be wary of extra charges, especially telephone in the room. Would /will go back

My room overlooked the UN... The hotel also had a great sym, sauna and pool... I did not get to use the tennis courts, but look forward to using them on a return trip...I enjoyed taking a night time stroll around the neighborhood....

Myself and 3 friends stayed here and had a horrible experience. We booked this hotel for a girls weekend away and specifically sought it out because of the pool. The pool hours are listed on their site and were confirmed by the front desk but when we went to go swimming we were told the pool was closed for a birthday party and the staff member was very rude. We then called to talk to a manager. He informed us that the pool was closed (even though the website contradicted the hours he gave us) He was very rude and even yelled at us. Our bathroom was dirty. Dust and dirt the corners, there was also several different colors of human hair on the ceiling in the shower. Very poor experience, especially for the amount of money paid. Will never stay here again.

We've stayed in this hotel for 3 night during our family vocation. The hotel is off the main attractions area and several blocks from nearest train station. But to compensate for that, there is a great view of low east part of Manhattan. Also this hotel has a good fitness facility and a swimming on 28th floor with a view. The rooms and hotels floors require renovations. The walls have spots and scratches. We've requested our room to be changed after first night due to very loud AC noise and small mold spots in the bathroom selling. The hotel staff was quick and helpful to change the rooms without any hassle. New room we've received had none of these issues mentioned above, but still had walls with spots and scratches. Overall, it's a good hotel with amazing views on Manhattan and friendly staff, just need to be renovated.

Loved staying near the UN. Lobby and restaurant areas are very nice. Rooms could use some updating - gives the impression the room is not perfectly clean, although it was an issue of wear and tear rather than cleanliness. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Had an issue with loss of electricity one morning. staff responded immediately and brought me a key to another room close by to shower.

A good weekend rate for this elegant hotel. Great views of Chrysler building from full-length windows on 40th floor. Breakfast quite expensive.

A little isolated unless your business is with the UN. Very clean and perfectly located for that. Rooms very clean, but chairs or sofas are not as comfortable for reading and watching TV. All in all - a very nice hotel.

A very nice hotel, and pretty cheap all things considered. A very nice room with amazing views over Queens and the East river. The only ting I really missed was an refrigerator in the room, that would have been nice. Also the staff was very service minded, and the room was very clean every time we came home. I will definitely stay there again.

Hotel was exactly as I expected. Great views, friendly staff. If you want to impress your wife and kids this for the night, this is the place to do it.

The Hotel was wonderful and our room beautiful, especially the view. All the service people were extremely nice. Our only disappointment was that their restaurant was open just for breakfasts. Given the neighborhood that was not a problem, except we were tired upon arrival and didn't feel like going out. Despite that small inconvenience, we would heartily recommend this Hotel.

I stayed at the hotel for 11 days attending a UN conference. If you need to be at the UN, this hotel is the your best choice. Very convenient, just across the street. The neighborhood is fine and very safe. On 2nd and 3rd avenues you can find just about everything. The closest subway station is on Lexington and 42nd, less then 15 minutes away. If you like sushi Yasuda on 43rd Steer b/w 2nd and 3rd is a must (although expensive). The hotel has two towers. The West tower is definitely better, but will soon be closed to be converted into a VIP tower. I was told that prices will be much higher when it reopens in September. I was told by people that stayed in the West tower, that rooms are of a lower standard. As for my room: 38th floor, large and comfortable, gorgeous views. Three issues: no refrigeretor in the room (you may request one); the american breakfast listed at $19 ends up costing you $27 and is best avoided; all corner rooms have a connecting door to the adjacent room, which may be very unpleasant depending on who is staying next to you. Service is good, the room clean, the concierge efficient, and the hotel manager quite helpful (I had a very late return flight and was allowed to check out late). Overall a very pleasant stay.

This hotel exceeded my expectations for such a competitive price. May not be in the middle of the tourist district, but it was only three blocks from my company's rep firm. Rooms obviously older with some outdated furniture, but it was very clean. The bed was most comfortable, and the bath room was completely refurbished. Karine was excellent at the front desk and upgraded me to an East Tower room with impressive river and city views. Would definitely stay there again. Helpful hint...request the East Tower.

The location is great. The staff is friendly. The lobby is elegant.The views from either tower are amazing.The only but is the furniture for this hotel is a bit shabby and needs an up date.No complaints about the room size.

I liked the size of the room, quite big for NY. My room had a great view on the river. The service was very good and friendly, room service was nice. However this place need a serious renovation. Wifi is expensive

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Hotel has a premium feel and the rooms are huge by Manhattan standards with great views as all rooms start from the 28th Floor. The service and everything was great. The closest subway station is Grand Central which is about a 10 min walk and this was the only minor annoyance as it is a little bit further than we would have liked, especially after a day of shopping. Overall though the location is fantastic and is in a very upmarket part of Manhattan. Would highly recommend this hotel as it was fantastic value for the amount we paid.

Views of East River and downtown excellent day or night. Room spacious with two double beds.Good air conditioning. Door staff helpful made us welcome. Walking distance to Central Station. 20 minute walk to Times Square . Would highly recommend this Hotel

the millenium hotel had some highs and lows: amazing views from my room and great staff were the highs. a pool and tennis court, as well as a lot of security also was great. neighborhood was vibrant and the location for my needs was excellent, with all and great restaurants nearby. i also loved the size of the room!! even had a walk in closet which is not typical nyc hotels.. and my maid was wonderful, in helping out with towels, etc when needed. the lows were the wear and tear the hotel showed. the condition of the carpet in my hallway was not very good (stains all over) and i had to have maintenance put a bracket under our bedsite table to keep everything from sliding off its sloped surface. the bedside table also was too small to accomodate a telephone which i had seen in another room. the wall coverings in the hallways as well as the room were also stained. room service food arrived cold and was extremely expensive (expected i guess) so we only did that once! this hotel needs a bit of attending to, and it could be amazing! just someone to walk through with a critical eye and fix the worn and tired issues. treat it like their home and make it better looking for guests...there was some worn linens and the bed mattress seemed to slope down at the head so that really could have used a turning. the tv service was also not ideal...if you started a movie, you could not pause or stop and restart which was very inconvenient. also, the reception tended to diminish as the night went on and a buzzing sound started to come from the unit. the extra security due to the u.n. proximity was nice, and there was always a dog outside (on duty) that you could pet and visit with. rate i had was great so i guess i should not complain too much...again, staff was amazing!! would stay there again in spite of the little things i mentioned.

Hotel was nice, but off the beaten path. Not close to theatres and Times Square. Had to take a cab. Did walk back. About a 20-25 minute walk.
