Overall stay was great. Staff was friendly. Hot water for showers was iffy sometimes.Stayed in the waterfront suites, would try the tower on a high floor for the view.

not a very clean hotel. Found old chewed sweets and dirty diaper under the curtain. The place needs a clean. Staff are good, Red Marlin is good and the kids loved the slides.

I thought the room was very bad for the price I paid and then when I complained I had to pay a upgrade fee that they wanted $50.00 for. I never expected for a Hyatt Hotel the room that was given to me it had no class what so ever.

hotel was a great value .. corner King suite was a 'sweet deal' , staff were really helpful, the valet guys stored our bikes sakely so we didnt have to leave them in the bike rack..decent small balcony overlooking the marina.The hotel restaurant is pretty good, nice environment..all the staff were good too..overall an awesome long weekend away to beautiful sunny SD

We have stayed in the water front room many times - it is my favorite place to stay.

Hotel was nice. Noise was loud at night from the airport. The biggest complaint was the air conditioner in the room. I was in a corner suite which was nice but the temperature was uncomfortably hot. This caused trouble for trying to fall asleep.

This was a good fit for our family (2 adults, 2 kids). We had a "waterfront suite" with 2 queen beds and a separate living room. Other reviews indicated that these rooms were dated and that was the case. But functionality and comfort are very important for a family trip and that's what we found with the Hyatt. Pluses: location near freeways made it easy to get to many places (Zoo, SeaWorld, Legoland, etc.); nice pools for families; good room and pool food service; nice spa; Einstein's Bagel shop was a quick walk from our room and the espresso was good; boat rental was a hit with the kids; and service at the hotel was generally good. Minuses: room was dated; cleanliness not great (found probably a two-week old, moldy take out box still crammed into the top shelf of the fridge); fridge was very low and in a bad location; lighting in general not great; pretty marginal movie options, especially for the kids; self-parking fee was almost as much as the daily rental rate for our car!; not many food or shopping options within walking distance, but a 5-10 minute drive gives you a lot of options; tried to use the self checkout on the TV but it did not work properly. Overall a good fit for us on this vacation and I would recommend this hotel for others.

We stayed here 4 nights for a conference, and due to its relatively isolated location, we didn't have much other choice. It was pricey, but they have nicely appointed rooms (we had a suite in the tower), with a balcony that offered great views of the bay and marina. The grounds are well kept; the pools are nice for the kids, and the jacuzzi is good for the grownups. The conference facilities were good, if a little dark and drab compared to the sun outside. They had nice coffee breaks outside in the sun, though. The main issue was that we were so isolated without a car, and the hotel offered absolutely NO transport, to town or the airport; it meant we had to either eat their expensive food (e.g $4 for a Coke - though there's a cheap fish place at the end of the marina), or pay $25 for a cab to town. You can walk 20 minutes over the bridge to Mission Beach, and the #8 bus will take you to Old Town for $2.25, but they're not that frequent, and they don't give change or transfers. Any other location in town is a challenge to get to without your own car. Keep this in mind if you want to see any of San Diego.

We liked our stay very much. The location is very close to Sea World. The room was sunny and comfy. I liked the balcony. Kids enjoyed the pool.

The room wasn't anything special for the price. The best part of our stay was the wonderful dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food and the service were really wonderful. Even if I don't stay at the hotel again, I will eat at the restaurant.

Loved this hotel. The only downfall is the boat taxi to Seaworld is only available in the summer :-( We visited in April and really wanted to use that.

My mom and I took a girls trip to San Diego - our first time to the area, and we decided to stay at Mission Beach. The hotel area was beautiful! Be sure to take the trolly if you have never been, as it gives a great overview of the surrounding attractions. Great because it picks you up at the hotel! Unfortunately, the concierge did not offer this until we asked multiple questions about what to see/do. If there is any area that needs improvement it is the concierge - not very helpful. Luckily we did our own research and ended up having a great time!

Just okay; been to worse. First room was very noisy, got asked to move to a different room.Second room was much better, however they both had a musty smell to them. We tried airing the room out and purchased a scented candle, but the smell was still quite strong. Lacking simple amenities like kleenex, bath robes, extra pillows and spare blanket. Had private fire pit which was nice. Toilet handle broke off. Needs new paint. Staff were nice. Better for families than for couples.

We stayed at this hotel for a conference my wife was attending. We had one of their "junior suites". The furniture in the room was dingy and looked as if it came from a second hand store. We kept a blanket draped over the couch so we wouldn't have to touch the fabric. The bed was in a corner of the room with two windows, neither had curtains, they only had blinds. Outside of those windows were two bright lights illuminating a hotel pathway. The blinds did a horrible job of blocking the light. There was no way to make our bedroom dark. We slept poorly because of it. The in room fridge does not cool things, instead it freezes them solid. The hotel requires that you pay to park your own car. One night we cruised the parking lot for thirty minutes before finding a space. The hotel also does not provide free wi-fi. I simply don't understand why they don't raise their rates and include these services for free. I've stayed at lower priced hotels that include parking and free wi-fi. One last thing, the gym is very small, it has a lot of equipment but packed into a tiny room. I always regret staying at Hyatt. I would not stay there again.

I would just suggest to upgrade club lounge room furniture. But it had amazing amenities and ocean views!

Pool side was very noisy - children having a great time at the pool resulted in excited screams and slamming gate. The Marina side would probably be best. We felt detached from other properties here. The Red Marlin was good, great service. Although I was a little disappointed with this Hyatt for what we paid, it might be a great place for families.

I came to mission bay to attend a birthday party..I had to bring my 2 little doggies with me..it seems that you would be more considerate for someone with dogs to not put them on the 5th floor.It was very much a hassle to have them there ...That there was no coffee in my room and that room service coffee was nine dollars a cup is just to much to imagine..There was no where open early within walking distance to get coffe e or juice.No snacks. I have a blood sugar problem and would think i could get something that did not cost me twenty or more dollars to snack on. Over all i think i will go to a hotel that has a complementry breakfast and is much more friendly for the dogs.The room had stains on the carpet very used Furnashings..It was just not what i expected from a four star hotel.

I have stayed at many resorts and there is always a component to the package that is a disappointment. This place has it all. It is a great place to take your family and still have a relaxing stay. The beds are so comfortable, the food is amazing, the location is perfect (minutes to Seaworld and the beach, the gym was awesome (overlooks the bay) and the amenities were spot on. My only complaint was that it was a little chillier than I had expected but that has nothing to do with the hotel. I plan to return in the summer for another round!!

The problem with this hotel is not the hotel itself. It is a nice 4-star hotel. I would normally say it is IDEAL for families because they have the bonus of swimming pools with water slides and life guards on duty from 10-5. Excellent, right? Well, this is the problem: we have stayed twice now and both times the hotel was hosting a wedding on Saturday night. The hotel hosts the weddings in a tent venue on the grounds. The problem is that it's location results in the other guests in the hotel that night being treated to POUNDINGLY loud music until midnight causing everyone to be tired and cranky the next day. The music is so loud that the sliding glass doors of the room are vibrating. Of course, I reported how loud the music was to the hotel management but nothing happens and I was essentially told: it's someone's wedding, what can we do? The combination of a super family-friendly hotel with a really loud outdoor disco until midnight is not a useful combination. I know that weddings are big business for the hotel but for the sake of the rest of the guests they need to find a way to locate the wedding venue to somewhere where it isn't going to keep the rest of their guests up until midnight. Maybe we were unlucky to pick weekends that had weddings both times but I would bet that it is a very popular location for weddings and that they happen quite frequently. Wanted to love this hotel but don't think we'll stay again.

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions, and always with a positive result. This time around was a little different. While the overall hotel property is very well landscaped and all common areas appointed nicely, the rooms are definitely overdue for a remodel. The cleanliness factor was certainly missing here; stained lamp shades, dirty carpet, hard old mattress, 10 year old television, no desk chair, and old food stains around the bar and fridge. definitely time for a staff overhaul and a makeover! Can't beat the views of the water, but at some point there is a tradeoff....

I only stayed one night but I had been given a very spacious suite off the main building. The view into the yacht harbor was affected by a nearby convenience store .... so ask for a higher floor if you can. Easily accessible from the main highway but there is not much around there to do so you'll need to drive wherever you want to go. The check in and check out went as quick as one would wish and the staff was very pleasant.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Couldn't find a hair dryer in the room. Also, would have been nice to have a microwave in the room to reheat dinner left overs. With 4 adults and 2 children in the room, could have used more soap for the shower.

We were quite happy.. Very comfortable beds. Do be careful of other costs not included in the room.

Nice property. On the downside though - did not receive the room type that I paid for. Paid for a suite in the two story building, received a regular King Room in the tower. Children in room above constantly ran back and forth back and forth back on forth throughout their room and it was loud and annoying, along with our room being close to the elevator which we could hear EVERYTIME it went to our floor or passed our floor. Other than those two issues, enjoyed the property, the view, and the location. Thank You.

The room was nice. I loved having the mini suite. There were doors to close off the rooms from the bathroom/closet/minibar area, and 2 televisions so we could watch different shows or allow one to sleep undisturbed. The view was nice. The only problem for me was the bed was to soft (I like a firm mattress).

I would put it on a list of hotels to return to in San Diego.

Overall it was good, the room was not as clean as I expected it to be, supplies werent enough.

Older property but beautifully redone and impeccably maintained. Wonderful views and close to everything. Loved the ocean view. Very generous and kind staff-from valet to the housekeepers and maintenance. A little loud up above us (we were on the 9th floor) but we were so tired we fell asleep anyway. Enjoyed a perfect meal at the Red Marlin but would suggest you skip the desert. Be prepared to pay for parking ($25 for self $29 for valet) and beware as the shuttle service is "seasonal".

I had a great 7 night stay at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. The room was a little stuffy when I first arrived but once I turned the ac on, it was fine. The view was great and the staff was very helpful and pleasant when I needed assistance, especially Eike. I would absolutely return to Hyatt for any future trips to San Diego.

the room was extremely dirty to a point that i was disgusted. Fell asleep with my clothes on just in case the sheets were dirty too.

Hotel was fine. Information on Hotels.com website on this hotel was inaccurate - Hotels.com website listed free local shuttle service but this was not correct. Hyatt website correctly noted only 3rd party purchased shuttle available. Fun to be next to harbor (seals heard and seen) but no beach.

Location first. Great . 5 minutes to replace. Hotel was spectacular. Slides in pool. Hot tub. View wow.
