The Continental Hotel - شاطئ ميامي

The hotel is going major renovations, which isn't reflected on the website, there was no cable, no internet, no pool. It really was poor by hotels.com and the hotel that they didn't communicate this when booking.

This was by far, the worst hotel I've stayed in, in the United States. It was filthy. Completely dirty. No working electrical units. Phone didn't work. Is undergoing a well needed renovation, though they should probably just demo it and start all over again as this hotel was a hot mess!!

The hotel location is very well.However; The hotel room is not clean. The bed was old. The swimming pool is not in use. The hotel offers the newxt hotel's swimming pool. It looks like the hotel will be in much better condition in 2013.

I stayed with my family for a week. Many days the hotel didn't have water because the hotel is under construction so its a big mess. The elevators got stuck several times. Also they advertised that the hotel has a pool, however the pool was also under construction. My advice is don't book this hotel pay a little extra and get a better hotel.

This hotel shouldnt even be listed on hotels.com due to the fact they are under major renovations. Had no idea this was the case when I booked the room for the one night stay. The cab driver wouldnt even drop us until he went inside and verified it was actually an operating business. Do not stay here. Pictures are deceiving.

Disgusting doesn't begin to describe the level of uncleanliness this hotel represented. While the website of the hotel indicates heavy construction, it doesn't allude to the fact that the hotel looks condemned. I understand construction is a necessity for renovations when you are trying to keep up your brand for a tourist-driven area, but while half the hotel is under lock and key, what is the problem with keeping the available rooms presentable and sellable for use? The rooms that the staff were so eager to sell look as if they have been sitting vacant and dirty for at least 6 months. Had these realistic photos been posted on the hotel's actual website, I would not have wasted my time or money; however, the photos on the hotel's website lead travelers to believe this hotel is at the same level of quality as a Wyndham. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone and I will tell everyone I know visiting Miami Beach that they should steer clear.

The hotel was locate in an excellent location but was under construction, it was dirty, and very hard to accomodate little thing such as checking in.

This hotel was under construction when we stayed there but it seems like they just need to rebuild the entire thing. Other than that the staff was very helpful and pleasant and the location is great for beach access

Hotel is under construction/renovation and overs no aminities but there are several restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Hotel A/C is only operational in the evenings so the rooms are warm during the day. Only + is that it is on the Ocean but you need to walk a block around hotel to get to the beach due to renovations.

This stay was horrible. When my friends and I were looking for a hotel for our first time vacation in South Beach this place seemed to be affordable and the pictures looked amazing. We were decieved. When we arrived the air conditioning was not working in our room. The room was dirty we did not sleep underneath the sheets. The pictures were molding and the view we had was looking at another building. We did not have a fridge in our room like we were promised as well the beds were full size not queen size. This hotel was in a nice area everything in walking distance but I would not reccommend anyone to stay here.

I booked the hotel for 3 day we only stay the first night, the hotel was dirty, it smelled like weed and cogaretts even thought it was a none smoking, we could hear the people from the next room and smell the weed, I was there with my kids and the next morning we woke up with the noise off construction, and we got up and booked another hotel.

The Continental Hotel should be closed down until all renovations and construction is done. One elevator is completely out of service and the other one works when it wants to and sometimes it won't stop on certain floors.

Did not enjoy

Hotel, needs some updates. Staff was friendly, parking was infront of hotel, could go and come as pleased. No parking or valet parking, but I paid and was able to. Room was spacious, neat, clean, had mini refrigirator, vault, iron, hair dryer, towels, view of the ocean and pool, wi-fi, limited tv channels. On the beach can rent chases, umbrellas, etc. not from hotel but they have services. No restaurant for breakfast, but there is room service. Near everything, walked to Lincoln Road shops and restaurants, it was great! Is a shame this hotel in its hayday was beautiful. Maybe if more people would stay they could renovate.But then we wouldn't be able to afford it, just like all the others nearby. Would go back.

The hotel staff were very polite and tried to be nice: however first room was disgusting and the hallway smelt like a sewer. The hotel is cheap therefore packed with young party beachgoers (was kept up until 4:30 by loud obnoxious drunks and finally called security) They moved me to a new floor which was cleaner and quieter. if you do not care about any amenities; would have been nice to have a coffeepot but I probably would have been afraid to drink from anything in that room. If you are there for a beach week blow out then you probably would not notice because the room was cheap and is right on the beach (did not go in pool because again afraid of catching something nasty) ....

Otherwise the location this hostel has no value. almost zero maintenance. You won't find cheap hotel at south beach. Book a hotel either little far from south beach or spend more money.

My friends and I stay was cool in the city,but as far as the hotel I can't say the same. One good thing I would say is the shower pressure was great but I was disappointed when I saw that we had one towel in the room and when I made the reservation I put down four people will be in the room and when we went to the front desk to as for more they told us sorry no more towels and we gotta wait until 8:00am the next day. The television was tiny and the headboard for the bed was taped!!!!! The hotel needs a definite renovation inside and out. Ohhhh another good thing that I noticed about the hotel was they do have nice front desk personal.

The hotel needs to be remodeled ASAP! Only stayed one night and went somewhere else after. The location was the best part of the hotel cause it's in the middle of south beach!

When we entered the room the towels were wet. The pool area was not cleaned with cigarette butts and gargabe allover. the hotel needs an extreme makeover.The staff tried to be helpful and told me the hotel was a 1 rating. thats why we got the service we got.

Horrible. !!!!!

It was a real bad exp. with a 5 yr. old kid. People go here for lots of boozing. You can smell all kind of smoke all over the place of this hotel. We had to complain about the uncleaned room (may be people did no. 1 or no. 2 on the carpet). They gave us a second room on 6th floor, little better than on the other one. But too much noise all night, no one cn sleep. Not a family friendly hotel at all. People come here to party and sleep all day. Very shady environment all over. Not for people like us, who has kids and want a nice environment.

The other reviews about this hotel are dead correct. It's a great beachfront location, but everything else about it is pretty sad. The hotel is in serious disrepair.. leaking ceiling, got stuck on the elevator, paper thin walls. If you plan to stay here, just know what you're getting yourself into.

Where can I start ? This Hotel should be inspected by health department. Old dirty sheets, etc. etc. just disgusting !. Hotel.com was helpful cancelling the remainder of my reservation. Sorry Continental.

Aside from the location this was the worst and dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. My husband and I are very simple and younng so not haveing the fanciest hotel room is no big deal... this place was beyond that. Dirty everything starting with the outside our room was dirty including the very old bedding which one of the beds had sand and long dark hair everywhere in it ...mind you my husband is bald and I have short blonde hair... only a hand towel and barely normal size towels left in bathroom for 2 guest loud rowdy guest up and yelling down hallways, fights in front of hotel/lobby gblass bottles being tossed out window which have no screens... a no smoking hotel but betweed marijuana and cigarette smoke that's all you smelled. Just run down and not taken care of at all the ws debris in the hall that was overlooked for almost 24 hours. I would never stay nor recommend it to anyone... sleeping on the street would be cleaner!

Location was great. Disappointed they advertised valet for $30 but was not available. Had only one towel in room and difficult to get more. But I had city view on third floor and sunset was superb.

Hotel was very old fashioned, no renovations at all and very, very plain. Room had a musty odor, and at one point I was left without towels, and had to wait one and a half hours for housekeeping to bring them. That being said, the price is very good, so you should know that you're getting a little less than you are paying for, and not expect anything too nice.

Hotel was worn down, bar was never open, mold in the corners of the bathroom and one of the elevators were out of service. Also, you hardly ever had a good Internet connection in your room. However, the price wasn't bad for the location, housekeeper was friendly and we got fresh towels and toiletries everyday.

I thought the people that worked there were awesome. Very helpful and curtious. But the hotel its self was not what I thought it was. The bed was broke, leak in the bathroom and the Windows were screwed shut. There are others thing but I am not going to name them. I think it wasn't the worst hotel but it could have been just alittle bit better in the rooms.

This hotel has great location with access to the beach. The staff were nice. In terms of cleanliness, if one can look beyond the old and stale smell carpeting, it was actually ok. No wi-fi in the room, we had to go to the main hall in front of the receptionist for internet connection. The overall ambience of this hotel looked gloomy. I am sure repainting and replacing the carpet flooring as well as some change in lighting will make a different ambience.

It was horrible! Service sucks,no towels to go on the beach,rooms are dirty! The worst i ever saw!!! I think they better call themself as a MOTEL!

Hotel was decent, got your money's worth. Friendly staff too. Big downside was that the site listed valet parking for $30.00 which is decent for that location but the hotel DOES NOT offer valet. However, there is a garage 2 blocks down where overnight parking is $38.00.

This hotel needs someone who is willing to spend some money in a big renovation. I asked for a iron and a ironing table and I just got a filthy iron a day too late.

First the front desk is not helpful at all. When you ask to get extra towels for the showers they are very reluctant to do so. And they don't even have face or hand towels for you. And if you plan to arrive early before check in and you want to drop off your bags before so at least you can go to the beach or walk around until your room is ready they make you pay per bag! Next if you plan on driving your car or renting one for your stay they do not even have a parking for their guest. They tell you to park in a parking deck 3 blocks away for $30 a day! Last it would be nice if they updated the rugs, beds, hallways because it looks like it has not been changed since the 80s. All in all you get what you pay for. Please take my advice and don't stay here. If there was a good thing about this hotel it is the location. Close walking distance to everything on South Beach.

Inexpensive hotel near everything. Pool was nice. Old looking unrenovated hotel. Good place to sleep the little time u will be in room in SoBe

This hotel was advertised as a well located beach front hotel, with the normal amenities of a similar discount or inexpensive hotel chain. The rooms were in terrible disrepair, the elevators were shoty, and the pool and property was atrocious. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice though.

Ignore all the amrnity items that are shown on the list for this hotel because it has hardly any of them. They DO NOT have internet access in the rooms, surcharge or not, and they haven't had it for over 4 years!! They only have wireless access in the lobby, when it decides to work. The rooms are awful for the price that they charge you. The TVs hardly work & most of the channels are in Spanish. There is no sundeck, there is no poolside bar and there is no restaurant! There was no complimentary Newspaper. The housekeeping was a joke. The only time they did it was when we asked them 3 times. Even then they did not replace the towels or even provide more toilet paper!! The staff were rude & very unhelpful also. The only up side to the hotel is where it is situated. Close to the beach and close to Ocean Drive. But still is not worth what we paid for the room!

A nice hotel for young people. I stayed there while on a business trip and it wasn't up to par with my usual standards but it's very affordable and fine for the younger college student crowd.

This hotel is awful. There were no towels or wash cloths in the room when I checked in. I took them 2 hours for towels and 6 hours for wash cloths. The air in the room was not working. The lienes were old. The furniture was outdated. I was mold around the lamps. The carpet is was bad. The only good thing about this hotel was is there address. Please don't waste your money. I know that it is a two star but really it shouldn't even have a rating it shouldn't be open. I was HIGHLY upset.
