very nice and I got a birthday cake which is unexpected!!

The service was great and the hotel is in a good location. We were offered a late check out from the hotel (free of charge) as our flight was in the night. The reception area is nice and our room had a small balcony with a view of the nearby Creek.

The location is close to the airport as well as to the old city (walking distance). A nice outdoor pool area on the 1st level. Most rooms have a view on the Creek (except very lower floors). The various inhouse restaurants are not topnotch but of sufficient variety and quality. The building is a bit eighties in design, which means a very small bathroom (with small tub and only one sink).

Teh hotel and staff were outstanding. the only thing that woul dhave been better is if there were more options close by for dininig or shopping. However with the reasonable prices for taxis, I woul dstay there again. In fact I am headed back to Dubai tomorow and will be staying here.

I did not want to leave this hotel, they offered everything. I loved the staff, i loved the location, the room 926 was perfect to see the fire works... I could right all day about this hotel and how great it is.. I will definatly book this hotel my next visit to dubai.

the hotel first of all does not have that great view of the creek as shown in pictures, i got a very small room whose main view was nothing but a plain wall. The main problem that i had was that i was misguided on how to make calls from dubai. I thought i were calling up a toll free number and as per the front desk those were free calls,only to discover at checkout i owed them close to $700 just in 2 days telephone bill. Being such a nice hotel I would expect the front desk to explain the local calling ways to tourists who are first time vistors there.

The hotel staff took 40 minutes to check me into my room for some reason. I wouldn't have minded except I was really hungry. I liked that there were a variety of restaurants and shops inside the hotel. Also, the gold and spice souks were within walking distance. I also liked that they had their own taxi service as well as the local taxis. That was very convenient. For the price, I expected a more luxurious room - or even a bigger bath tub. I stayed in the royal suite - I've had rooms at the La Quinta Inn nicer than the one I stayed in!

I chose this hotel because i wanted to stay in the middle of the city near the creek. The hotel is clean and comfortable despite the old-style furnishing, which didn't surprise me since this is the first 5-star hotel in Dubai (since 1975). The hotel is quite and has a wide selection of restaurants. I tried the La Moda restaurant (Italian) and loved it.

Hotel was great. I resereved three separate rooms and requested king size beds but got one king, one full, and two doubles, due to the holiday season. Other than that, my companions and myself were very pleased.

This is the place to stay if you want to feel part of 'old' Dubai. I love this area best of all. Whilst obviously showing it's age (it was one of the first high rise hotels in Dubai built in the 70s), the Radisson Blu has all you need for a great stay. Our room was adequately furnished, view across the creek to the Burj Khalifa and the bathroom was small but adequate and clean. Free Wifi is a bonus in Dubai and the 'Jazz Bar' was the icing on the cake with a wonderful singer on the nights we were there. There was a good atmosphere in the hotel which was pretty full in late December 2011. Five star hotels are ridiculously expensive in Dubai and so the Radisson Blu felt like good value with lots of facilities if a rather dated building.

A very pleasant stay, friendly staff, beautiful vieww of Deira Creek and nice swimming pool. Just what was needed for a 2-night stay.

Probably in need of some updating but very comfortable and convenient for airport. Everything you need on site and staff excellent. If you want to see anything of Dubai other than the great view from your window you will need a taxi but hey they are cheap

Excellent place, close to shopping, metro, etc Hotel staff best i've seen.

Stayed for a couple of nights on our way to Johannesburg. A great hotel at a great rate in a great location. Close to the metro line which gives easy access to most of the sights. The creekside location makes it easy to access the experience of a dhow ride over to the other side. The hotel has its own dinner cruise on the creek which, if you like that sort of thing, would be a fun experience. We found it a little boring since there isn't all that much to see at night. It was also very hot so sitting outside during the cruise wasn't all that pleasant. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

This hotel says 5 stars but it is very average. The bellhops didn't help my husband with his luggage, however when my husband picked me up from the airport he said the hotels demeanor changed. The room was very average. I read that you must pay for a suite to get the 5 star part of this particular hotel. Otherwise we were happy, they didn't bother us so we didn't bother them. A light bulb needed changing and they came in promptly and changed it

The pros: * knowledgeable staff * very good and attentive service * pretty good neighbourhood * a variety of restaurants close by The cons: * not so close to main attractions and malls * cleaness of the room was not at our standards (yes, ours is very high I recognize) * towels should be renewed and better care for If: * you are willing to take the metro, you have Union Station one block away * if your standard for cleaness is average, is more than ok Botton line: Considering quality, service, location and staff I can recommend this hotel

This is an extremely good hotel with outstanding service. It's classy without being pretentious or brash, like most other 5*s in Dubai! The Royal Club floor is excellent value because of the extra services offered to guests (free afternoon tea, evening drinks, transfers). The rooms are rather simpler than you might imagine for Dubai, but hugely comfortable and pleasant none-the-less. One slight quibble would be that the swimming pool was closed, but this wasn't indicated at the time of booking. I would have appreciated knowing this. However, they did offer the use of the Sheraton's pool, which was a nice solution.

The hotel staff upgraded us to a room with balcony facing the Creek upon knowing this is our first time to Dubai. The location of the hotel is very convenient to almost any type of public transportation.

If you want a beach holiday then you should stay at Jumeirah or on the Palm. If you are in Dubai for shopping in big Malls then hotels near the Burj Khalifa will satisfy your needs . For a more authentic middle eastern ,feel to your stopover it has to be a hotel such as The Radisson Blu on Dubai Creek . Not only is the Hotel a 5 to 8 minute walk from the Metro station which is handy for getting to the airport but it is situated across the road from the Creek offering good views from your bedroom balcony. The hotel has at least half a dozen restaurants to satisfy your needs and there are plenty of sunloungers round a good size outdoor pool . This hotel is within walking distance of the authentic area of Dubai. Its interesting just walking down the Creek and viewing the dhows being unloaded , then you can catch an abra [ water taxi ] over to the other side of the creek to visit the Old Souk . Back on the Radisson Blu side of the Creek you have the Gold Souk , the Spice Souk and the Fish , Meat and Vegetable Market so there is plenty to see within a 20 minute walk from the Hotel .Also the Big Bus City Tour route passes the Hotel so it is easy to walk down the road from the hotel to catch the tour . I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stopover for two or three nights.

Hotel was in a good position for business, had limited leisure facilities. Overall suited for business use.

This is a top class hotel. Food and service is first class. There is a bar in the hotel which has good entertainment though the same group seem to be playing for 3 years now. I have stopped at this hotel several times and the staff are very friendly. The club class where you get alcohol for a few hours and afternoon tea is well worth the extra money. Taxis are cheap in Dubai so it does not really matter where you stay in Dubai

This is a great hotel and perfect for our needs....we arrived late at night but that didn't keep the staff from treating us like visiting royalty. We stayed two nights--resting up from our long air trip from Texas--- before catching a cruise ship. This hotel had restaurants and shops that made us feel we had already boarded our luxury liner. Definately recommend to others and would stay there again.

I stayed here in April 2011 on a business trip. Room was really nice and I had a great view over Dubai Creek. The hotel had a great selection of restaurants and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The pool was absolutely amazing! Would highly recommend staying there.

good clean comfortable close to air port great service.

If you're on a brief stopover this is an ideal place . About 10 minutes drive from the airport . Comfortable and good value .

We stayed one night on our way to Cairo and our way home in May. Our stay was amazing. The hotel is probably about a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport. The taxi ride can be arranged through the hotel prior to arrival. The hotel is maybe 2 - 3 blocks from the subway. -- We had a room with balcony on the street side that overlooked the water. -- The hotel was perfectly nice with attentive staff. - What I absolutely loved was the lounge near the front desk. There was a band there with two men and three women from, I believe, the Phillippines. They were excellent; I think they are there all the time. The music was great and they came through the audience on breaks. - I'm not joking I want to move to Dubai just to hang out there. Looking at the clientele in the lounge also broke down some stereotypes in a very fun and positive way. Don't get me wrong; the hotel is also first class. Andy and Jody

I STAYED FOR A WEEK AND FOUND IT OVERLY EXPENSIVE. I FORGOT MY LAPTOP AND WAS EACH TIME CHARGED FOR USING COMPUTER AT BUSINESS CENTER. CHARGES CAME UP TO HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS, JUST FOR USING INTERNET SERVICE FOR THE GUEST. ALSO ONLINE RATES CHANGED DRASTICALLY AFTER I BOOKED FIRST THREE NIGHTS.

Great hotel, quality service. Most of the rooms have amazing views across the Creek, especially at night. Good location right next to a metro station. Our first room had slightly noisy neighbours but the hotel were happy to move us to an alternative room of same quality and it was done quickly and they sorted it all out for us. The pool was also nice and well maintained and the choice of resturants within the hotel is amazing, they have everything you could possibly want from all around the world. If you really enjoy eating out but want something different every night then this is the best hotel for you. Only negative is no wireless internet available in room. There was free wired internet but that is no good if you have tablet computer. Overall would 100% stay in this hotel and recommend it to others.

We stayed on the Royal Club floor at it was amassing All services were at a very high standard Breakfast on the 10 floor was very good plus a nice view

I stayed in a Club room and the service was really very good. During my stay, the hotel performed valet parking at no additional costs.

We stayed here on our return from Europe. 2 couples for three nights. We had pre booked and paid and got a great deal for this 5 star hotel. The service and facilities were great and we could not get anywhere near this value elsewhere. Definately use this again.

This hotel was located at a 25-30 minute walk to Gold Suk or a $10 cab ride. The hotel was very nice and the staff extremely friendly and it was nice to discover that our balcony was located next to the pool which is on the first floor. I loved everything about my stay here and will be staying here again the next time I travel to Dubai.

The second time we have stayed at this hotel recently. After our first visit we were a little disapointed however on this occassion everything went smoothly from start to finish. We chose this hotel again primarily for its location for business purposes. It is located in Deria, on the creek, and many facilities, shops and mall are within walking distance. Good as parking here can be a nightmare, so the hotel's valet parking much appreciated. Good selection of restaurants within the hotel and in the surrounding area. Main road outside busy and noisy.

It took 15-20 minutes in a car to and from the airport (not much traffic either time). It's less than 10 minutes walk to the metro station and about 15 minutes to a shopping center with a food court and restaurants if you don't want to eat in the hotel. There's a nice park to walk in along creek in the evenings. The pool and gym were great. There's not a whole lot to do in the area right around the hotel, but it's easy and cheap to access the rest of the city via the metro. I would definitely stay here again in the future for it's convenience to the airport and metro.

2nd visit to this hotel. for a quick stopover it is ideal. great room and remembered me from last time so got an upgrade. close to airport, on creek so great night views. metro very close and so easy to get around dubai quickly - can get tube from airport to half block away from hotel. staff were very friendly , informative and catered for every need. as a middle cost hotel it supplies more. highly reccomend. will return next time in dubai. watch out for b'fast tho - it pricey but worth it if you hungry!! room service might be better option if on budget. thanks to all hotel staff for making our stay easy.

A wonderful hotel and staff, enabling us to have a great holiday and proving to be good in an emergency. One of our party suffered from back problems towards the end of our stay and the hotel were extremely helpful and ensured they could continue to stay in the same room for a further few days. They provided contact with an excellent doctor who to good care of the lady concerned and ensured she could eventually return home. We would all stay again as the staff were so helpful and supportive. Very conveniently located with easy access to taxis and also the hotel's own cars readily available which, whilst a little more expensive, had excellent drivers.
