Expo hotel is a few footsteps away from Barcelona (sants) main railway station, walking distance from Camp nou stadium and 10 minutes away from Ramblas by metro Rooms are quite spacious with a dressing room attached. bathrooms are also spacious and well maintained. Staff was friendly, and check-in / out didn't take more than a cple of minutes. Highly recommend it

Close proximity to Sants station makes it very convenient if one has to take a train out of Barcelona. Placa de Espanya is only 10 mins by foot. Service is good. Breakfast spread was nice. Overall a very nice and a comfortable hotel and close to all public transportation.

We were very disappointed in the accomodations of this hotel. The cold water spigot in the lavatory did not fuction. Much of the tile was broken and discolored. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. the room was very loud! All tile floors and very thin walls. Every time someone so much as moves a chair or walks you hear it loud and clear. the portable TV was perched on the dresser about to fall every time you had to squeeze by it to get to the bed or patio.

A good, convenient hotel near public transportation. The comfort of the room could be improved: 1) Hooks to hang up coat, shelf for hat and scarf 2) No coffee table, only one chair 3) Very small desk Freely accessible wireless internet should be standard and hassle free. It is needed to check museums and other sights. The personnel at the hotel were courteous and helpful, and the hotel was clean and tidy. It would have been nice if there had been a modest continental breakfast available.

Great location. Good safe neighborhood. Next to Barcelona Sants station and a few minutes walking to Placa D'Espanya. Be prepared to pay highly for internet access and also for the room safe. I have no idea why you would have to pay a daily rate for a locked box in the closet but you do and it is not cheap. The beds were a little too hard for me and the pillows were too flat for my liking even though i had two pillows. The other negative thing was that the walls are literally paper thin. I could hear people next door as if they were next to me talking. It was scary one night when I woke up to a conversation between two people next door and thought that they were in the room with me. But overall, the negative aspects are not enough to discourage me from staying there again.

this hotel is near by a central train station. Easy to move around. just remember SANTS station. to come back to the hotel. Barcelona Tour service also available at the station just a reminder to be caution when filling up the bathtub.. if it over flow .. the whole room will be flooded..

Stayed two nights. Comfortable room with very few amenities. Had to pay for Wi-iFi and a key for the safe. Conveniently located with close access to two Metros and rail station.

Room ready on check in (before noon). Great location across from Sants Train/Metro station. Easy transfer from airport metro station terminal B. Staff helpful, but not exceptional. Room clean but small. Great shower water pressure. Hallways some what noisy. Pool closed. A MegaMart grocey and bakery on ground floor of same building a great find. No money exchange at Sants, but Banks near by. We would use again.

Nice hotel, very convenient location for airport and town. Train station right next door to the hotel. Don't bother getting a taxi or tranfer from airport, the airport train line stops at the station right next to the hotel. Swimming pool is more just for cooling off rather than swimming - it's tiny, but I still enjoyed using it and the views were nice from the top as well. We booked an executive double room which was pretty big, nice big double bed and a spacious bathroom with powerful shower. Plenty of towels, dressing gowns and slippers provided. Good air con. Hot water was always available at any point we needed it. The city itself is the real star here, so you won't want to spend much time in the hotel. As such this place does everything you'd want. Very nice indeed - we had a lovely time.

The hotel service was good and the rooms were clean, but this is not a four star hotel. The room was a standard twin and the beds were a little lumpy, but had clean sheets. The television was a 60' model but worked just find. The light in the closet did not work properly after installing a new light bulb. Not a room to spend time in or take your wife, if you are accustom to staying at a four for five star hotel. Excellent hotel for someone who just need a place to lay their head. The price was fair but the additional cost for the upgrade room was not worth the cost.

This hotel was perfect for us! It was a 4 minute walk from the Tannerola (sp?) metro. The guy at the front desk - Taj? - was exceptional with recommendations and in answering questions. Our room on the 8th floor was clean and as pictured on the hotels.com website. Never got to even see the pool on the roof because we maximized each day sightseeing and never made it back before it closed at 10 pm. Did like the bar/lounge on the roof though! Also liked the internet cafe and the breakfast. Certainly a favorite of the hotels we stayed in.

We were put in a room on 10th floor, which means we had to take stairs from 9th floor up as elevator does not go to 10th floor. It is a penthouse and the windows go to the patio with bar open till 1am. So, no early night. Right above the room is a swimming pool for which some kind of machine hums all night and roars at 7am, so no late morning either. If you plan to sleep, avoid room 1003. Other rooms might be nice. Breakfast is well worth it's 10-13 euro if you are a meat-eater, but not otherwise.

Arrived to Barcelona on the 4/08/2011. Very nice and clean hotel. Good, quiet location, not far from the centre. Very helpful and friendly staff. The only one thing they need to improve is a swimming pool area and a terrace which are on the roof.

Two minute walk to major train station Barcelona Sans where you can depart or arrive on the fast train. You also could link up to any metro station from there and easy access to La Ramblas area on the metro. Buffet breakfast was an extra cost but terrific variety of food to choose from. Good size room. Matress firm but comfortable. There were some cracked marble tiles on the floor but that did not bother us and some stains on the carpet in the passage. Room was otherwise very clean. Friendly & helpful staff.

Let me start by saying that if you ONLY care about the location of your hotel, then this hotel is the one for you. It is just around the corner from the metro/train station in Barcelona and has a taxi always available outside this hotel so you never have to wait for a taxi. This hotel is a 30 Euro taxi ride away from the airport. The breakfast was very good with lots of selection for people from all over the world, since not everyone eats the same things for breakfast. The service from the front desk staff was great, they were very informative and friendly. Now for the negatives... This hotel needs MAJOR room renovations. The rooms are VERY small and the beds are SO uncomfortable. They are so old that you feel the springs from the mattresses. I had the worst sleep in this hotel. Also this hotel charges for their wireless internet, which I personally think that this feature should be included with the room. The roof top pool is SO old and disgusting, full of rust. I was so turned off by it! I would rate this hotel a 2 out of 5. I would NOT recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel Very friendly staff. Convenient to Sants Station but if you want to walk it only takes 30mins to get to Plaza Catalunya. I've paid a lot more for a lot worse hotels. Overall very good experience.

The photos of this hotel are not accurate, it is clearly and old hotel of which the lobby entrance and lifts have been given a fresher look. The rooms are very small, despite upgrading ours. The surrounding area is bleak. I would not stay there.

Nice hotel but definitely not a 4 star rating. Tile floors means you hear every footstep and noise from above. Thin walls and windows mean you hear the sounds of Barcelona until the parties end at 4 am on weekends. Room wasn't made up by 3:30 one day, which meant not at all since we needed to prepare for the evening activities. Friendly front desk and restaurant help.

The hotel was approx 20-30 mins from airport and cruise pier.Walking distance to town Center ,Plaza Espana, near to subways and trains.

Great hotel for the price, in the process of modernising .. which is needed. Our room hadn't yet been done and so was very basic for a 4 star hotel. The pool area is tidy and clean but dated, the rest of the hotel was great :) !!! And the best bit? ... its 2 minutes walk from Estacio Sants ... the main train station and bus terminal or walk in the other direction and you have Tarragona Metro station. Excellant location if you dont want to be in the maddness of Barca.

Expo Hotel Barcelona is the perfect hotel for the price. It is located next to two subway stations, Tarragona and Sants Estacio which is a major subway hub. The staff at the hotel is nice and friendly. The rooms are clean and the food in the restaurant is pretty good. The hotel is also located next to the Barcelona Sants which is a major railway station with trains to other parts of Spain such as Madrid and Valencia. The next time I come to Spain, I will definitely stay at the Expo Hotel Barcelona.

The hotel is very nice but perhaps not a 4 star, breakfast is amazing and the location is very close to the train station which was perfect for us, over all a good stay.

Situated in between the main station and Tarragona station easy to find and easy to set off to see the serroundig area I have been using it to visit relative in Hospital Clinic from which even went on foot once to see if I can find the hospital without a map!a bit risky I now.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. While it is conveniently located close to a big metro hub (Sants Estacio station) which links you right to the Airport in 20 mins, I would not stay at this hotel again. The room was just not comfortable and kind of dingy. The bed was hard and I usually like hard beds. It is not a place you would stay and felt like you were on vacation. The picture on the site is that of an executive room, but most likely, you will book the standard room. It's rated as 4 stars but conditions are more 2 stars, Room & furniture is pretty no frills. I much rather pay $20-30 for a more "luxury" feeling hotel with better beds and ambiance. Maybe I should have tried their sister hotel next door, Gran Torre Catalunya which has great reviews but a tad more expensive.

This was a great hotel! We stayed at the Hilton for a couple nights before coming here and although this wasn't quite as luxurious we enjoyed our stay much more. The staff were friendlier and the hotel didn't charge for every little thing! Comfortable, affordable, friendly, tasty food and right next to metro and train station which was very convenient! Next time I'm in Barcelona I want to stay here again :)

I was in Expo for two nights with my fiance during a city trip to Barcelona. I must say, we were both pleasantly surprised by the hotel in general. At check-in, the staff promoted an action for upgrading to their executive rooms for just 8 euros per room per night, so we took it. The room was incredibly comfortable for the price. I have nothing to say about this hotel except good things. The staff was professional and friendly, and the proximity of the Sants station, connection to the airport and the city is great.

This is a very large hotel, however we felt welcome upon our arrival. The front desk folks were very professional, and helpful. Lots of activity going on. The room was clean, however a leg of an end table came off within our first few hours. It caused me to cut my finger. Nothing horrific, but not to be expected at this caliber of hotel. Unfortunately, despite staying in lots of hotels throughout North America, and Europe we ran into a first very uncomfortable and odd experience. We've learned to travel with a sleep machine (white noise) to help drown out typical hotel noises and battle tinnitus. These are especially helpful in thin walled hotels. Well, this hotel was the last stop of a two week trip in Spain, and we were tired. After working out the table leg situation earlier described, we were sleeping deeply. At midnight a loud knock came to the door and awoke my wife. No peep-hole, so she wasn't going to respond, and she was trying to let me remain sleeping (thinking someone must have knocked on the wrong door). Well five minutes later, the phone rings and it's the hotel security team. This conversation took place in Spanish, but I'll keep it in English.....They asked what we were doing in the room? I was befuddled and asked, "Well, we were sleeping. Is it customary to call a hotel room after midnight?" They said, "Well, we received a complaint from a neighboring room about a weird noise (sleep machine), and we relocated them, but wanted to make sure you didn't leave the hair dryer on. What are you doing up there. We need to know? Wow, I was floored, and actually had to defend our activities. Now they had me wide awake and naturally upset. To their credit, they offered a complimentary breakfast, and ended up offering us a free night in the hotel. Unfortunately, lost sleep can't be purchased. If we had it all to do over again, we'd stay with smaller less corporate properties.

We stayed only for one night. Room was very bright and nice. But there was noice which we can hear from next room. There could have been an airport shuttle for atleast cheaper price.

Our first impressions of the hotel were slightly disappointed from the quietness of the location. However, after getting to know the area, it is in an ideal spot. We were smack in the middle between 2 convenient metro stations, only 20 mins from the airport and 5-10 minutes into the city centre. The hotel itself was very clean and welcoming. The rooms were smaller than anticipated, the room could do with updating and the beds not very comfy. We did have some problems with the ventilation as the rooms were very stuffy, but overall the hotel was suitable. There were nearby restaurants and coffee shops if you didn't want to pay for the hotel breakfast, which was delicious when we did try it.

Hotel very close to SANTS Station so no need for expensive taxis from airport just 3 euros by train.Hotel also very close to metro so very accessable to all of Barcelona. Would reccomend this hotel to both friends and family

Booked a double room but only got a twin room. Internet access not free. Rooms could do with being refurbished. Breakfast was cold and not worth the price. The staff made up for any problems very friendly and helpful. Located in good location for the Metro and Buses. Short walk from Airbus stop and City sightseeing tour buses.

This Hotel should be a 3 stars Hotel. Not a 4 Stars! They offer free wireless internet....but only for the first 15 minutes!! The room wasn't a 4 stars Hotel Room. If you say that is a 4 stars Hotel, people will expect that. Not a tinny poor room.

excellent position quiet area, easy for metro ,rooms good size and comfortable, breakfast buffet very good would return again.

The location of the Expo hotel is a 3 min walk from the train station/metro. The hop on/off tourist bus also stops there. Perfect base camp for touring Barcelona and surrounding areas accessible by public transit. There is a grocery store located on the sub level of the hotel, that is very convenient for resupply for next day's touring. There are also many shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. within easy walking distance. The area felt safe both day and night. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who has the goal of touring Barcelona efficiently.

This hotel is convenient to the metro and the main train station making it easy to get downtown but don't expect very much from their standard rooms. They were twin beds that could not be pushed together and very narrow. The room wasn't much wider than the bed's were long. It is fine if you don't plan to stay in the room much but it does feel somewhat like a cell it is so narrow.

beds were hard, uncomfortable, no chair(s) or table on the porch outside the sliding glass doors., room was very small., slight order in the bathtub.,TV remote control worked occasionally. GREAT buffet breakfast....rooftop swimming pool was murky and opened late (11am) each day., this hotel is right behind the SANTS train terminal, you can walk to the hotel from the terminal.

Great amenities, extremely helpful staff, close to public transportation but far from all tourist attractions, the best breakfast ever!
