Location was just perfect on Magnificent Mile...lots of great foods nearby..all important sites within walking distance!!!

Ok stay but crowded place due to convention. Fitness center has gone downhill. Steam room down for repairs, but concierge said it will not be repaired.

The room was very small. Services were over priced. Staff was friendly but the pictures weren't what we expected. Customer service said they'd upgrade our room because it was our honey moon, but didn't. And they booked us with a family pack, so kids under 12 would eat free but we were on our honey moon??? Made no sense!

Had a great time on NYE 2012. I'm a local, so we needed a place to crash after a night of celebrations, and to make it more festive. The location is great and the views are nice from the top floors. They were so busy, but still managed to be super efficient at check in and overall.

One night felt like we had been on a week long vacation! The staff is very friendly, the room was clean, and the breakfast fantastic value.

I loved staying at the Marriott on the "Miracle Mile". I loved the location, the concierge services, the lobby, bar, and restaurant in the hotel, the maintenance of room and staff. Everyone was friendly and very helpful.

Every one that work for the hotel were very helpful, easy getting around town. We just enjoyed everthing about the hotel & our stay. Keep up the good work...

I will definitely visit this location the next time I'm in Chicago. The location is great and the was service outstanding.

One of the attractions to booking this hotel is that it was advertised to having free parking (it is not uncommon if you are visiting a Chicago hotel to pay upwards to $50 per night for parking your vehicle). The caveat that is NOT advertised is that it is free only if you self-park. Imagine our surprise when we were presented with a bill for $48. Fortunately, the head valet waived this fee for us. Many people were experiencing the same problem.

I like nice hotels when I'm traveling and this one didn't disappoint. The bed was super comfortable, room was very nice with a cool view of the city. Location is right in the middle of everything - shopping, restaurants etc. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hotel has a great location but for the most part the rooms are small, we had 2 double beds with 2 people. Don't know how a family of 4 could fit. The bathroom was even smaller and more like a powder room with a bathtub. The bathroom also was not updated, it looked like they had decorated the room and they have comfy beds but skipped the bathroom. They are charging 4 star prices but the room itself was not better than a 3 star. Because of the location right on Michigan Avenue it was super convenient so that in part made up for the room. I would rate this hotel as a 3 1/2 star.

The heating system in the hotel was too effective. The temperature in our room was too hot to enjoy the room, the view from our 42nd floor window, or a good night sleep. The front desk explained to us that the heating system in the older portion of the hotel, presumably where our room was, was not amienable to adjustment. The solution we were given was to open the sliding door, a problem in that it only opened 3 inches, and place a fan in fron of the opening to cool down the room. Unfortunately it took close to three hours before a fan was delivered to our room and its effectiveness was marginal. The location of the hotel and the general helpfulness of the staff was good, but there are far better hotels in the vacinity at similar prices that we would recommend.

I booked a king for new years even, they gave me a double bed instead. They said that was all they left. The room was located right by the elevators where we could hear everyone go up and down.

The hotel was great, the price is what troubled me. I am still getting charges from them. My room was fine, we did not use the mini bar or ruin the room. When I left they told me that I did not have a balance but for some reason my debit card keeps getting charged. I recommend that if you stay at the Marriott you have all of your paper work together.

We stayed here on New Year's Eve. The hotel reached capacity, yet staff still maintained an air of calmness amidst chaos and at-your-fingertips service despite the large crowds. The lobby was bustling with partygoers, and the atmosphere was energetic without being too loud or obnoxious. Great location!

Hotel was in a great location. My bAthroom was a bit small but we only stayed one night so it was fine. The bed was pretty comfortable. I would stay again.

Very convenient and clean hotel. I had a package deal that included parking but I didn't realize it was only for self-park and not valet.

If you a looking for a place to stay where you can walk to the shops on Michigan Ave, this is a great location. The staff was excellent and the rooms were very comfortable. I would stay here again....

We stayed here just for a quick get a way, and it was fantastic! Right in the middle of all the great shops on the magnificent mile, and convenient to many shops and dining locations. The room was clean and very nice. The only downside was when we got there, we didn't know where to go for our complimentary parking, so we had to wait in the street in order for the other cars valleting to park, then I was able to find out where to go. That would have been nice know before we got there, but it wasn't that big of a deal.

The hotel was descent but not luxury like the JW Marriot. I expected the bathroom to be better. However, everything else was great.

Spent Thanksgiving weekend 2011 in this Hotel and would do so again in a heartbeat. It is near lots of good food, terrific stores, museums and all kinds of other stuff. It was very busy but the staff kept up and made it a great experience.

very disapointing and not up to the quality of the area

This hotel was awesome! Great ambience just in the hotel lobby itself. Loved unwinding there after a day of sight seeing & before going to the room to freshen up for dinner. Hotel was very accomodating. Great conceirge service. I can't say enough great things about this hotel. The location was perfect - we walked everywhere. Navy Pier, Millenium Park. Restaurants, night life, etc. The shopping was ridiculous; Nordstrom's/Mall right there. Water Tower, Great shops right along Michigan Ave. I was in 7th heaven. I am definitely visiting Chicago again, because it is a great city; just loved it & I will be staying at this Marriott.

We took our two toddlers to stay at the Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile for a long weekend. The hotel worked great for us. Walking distance to Rainforest Cafe and lots of other activities. The staff members were all very friendly. Our room had a floor-to-ceiling window with a great view down Ohio; the kids loved watching the people and cars below. The pool was clean and comfortable. Our bed was comfortable, and the kids slept and napped great because the shades made the room very dark. Only two complaints: (1) The room was fairly dusty. Other than that it looked clean. (2) Self-parking was a block away, so running out to the car to get something was not a short trip. When we checked out and my husband tried to bring the car around to pick up our stuff, traffic was so bad that he had to circle the block for a half hour. Next time it might be worth splurging for the valet.

was in town overnight for a cousin's wedding; while the stay was brief, everything went smoothly at the hotel. Easy check-in & check-out, room was clean and comfortable and had all the necessary amentities.

We liked this hotel. The room is pretty small and could use some updating, but we didn't go to stay in our room the whole time. Good location near shops and sights. We would stay here again.

This was a great place to stay on a recent trip to Chicago. Having a Starbucks in the lobby was a plus. Found several good eateries very close to the hotel. Of special note was eleaven for breakfast and Big Bowl for other meals. Having grocery stores close to the hotel was a unique bonus for fresh fruit and bottled water.

The staff was great, very considerate and we felt genuinely welcomed. We took our son (6) to see a big city and requested a room as high as possible with a view, they did their best to make sure he enjoyed his stay as much as we did. My only complaint would be the bath room - I couldn't believe all the water damage. the room was a little dark but really we were there to sleep and that was about it. We went to the pool and hung out down stairs too. We will definitely return. It's walking distance to the Navy Pier and being right on Magnificent Mile makes it easy to access the public transportation.

great location! Room could have used a bar fridge. Pool average, fitness room better then most hotels. Concierge staff were amazing

I just celebrated my birthday with a 3 day stay at the Marriott on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago. The staff was friendly, attentive and the hotel was clean and wecoming. Although the room felt small and the hotel itself was too chilly as most hotels are, I really enjoyed my stay. The entire hotel was very clean and the food at the restaurants was very enjoyable. I loved the location and I plan to stay again for memorable events. BTW, I am a spoiled Chicagoan. Thanks Marriott for making my birthday special.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and it seems to have gone down hill a bit. Convenient off Michigan Avenue. The lobby is nice although very noisy given the lounge in the middle. Rooms were a bit musty and the bathroom was small though updated with granite. Hallway noise was excessive. I am a frequent business traveler and not likely to stay at this hotel as there are many other more updated hotels with larger rooms and bathrooms in the same area for a similar price.

The room had a great view and is right on Michigan Ave. Friendly service and comfortable feel. We did pay quite a bit but it was the weekend of Lallapalooza so we're thinking that was why. Usually prices are more reasonable. Great stay!

I couldn't have been more pleased with the our stay at the Marriott on the Magnificient Mile in Chicago!! The hotel was clean and beautiful and the location was perfect. We parked our car in the garage and never had to use it once while we were there, you could walk everywhere. It was worth every penny and I won't stay anywhere else when I visit Chicago in the future.

Great location - close to shopping, food and other main attractions including sporting events. Hotel staff very friendly and facilities clean. Good exercise facilities as well.
