great staff, comfortable clean room

The hotel is far enough from Dupont Circle that I would rename it's location. Not much in the immediate surroundings but it was quiet and OK. Rooms were adequate. No safe in room as advertised and it was inconvenient to lock my computer in the safe deposit boxes in the lobby. Staff was very nice, didn't try the restaurant, it didn't look appealing, more like a coffee shop in the lobby. The restaurant at the Ritz one block away was a real restaurant and much nicer.

We were greeted before we ever walked in and again by entire staff at the desk. Check in was very quick and we were in our lovely room in no time. Hotel was VERY busy but we never had to wait long in restaurant, bar, etc. Everyone was very kind, helpful and accommodating. Location is BEST in city. Close to everything!! Looking forward to staying again.

Our graduation weekend there was perfect, they also provided umbrellas.

Comfortable room, friendly staff, nice restaurant, great shower! Only bad thing was the hot tub was not working. One of the quietest hotels I ever stayed in - not a peep heard from adjoining rooms.

The Washington Marriott staff was awesome!! They were able to make recommendations regarding the city. The hotel service was impeccable, from the moment the car pulled into the driveway. The Hotel is in a great location for public transportation, must-see sights, Howard University and business. I LOVED! MY STAY!!!!!!!!!

My friend & I had a great weekend staying at the Washington Marriott. The weight room was sufficient for a decent workout. The hotel was quiet & had all the essentials one would expect. One small annoyance was that there is no deck/out door pool. It is a shame there is no where to go outside & get some sun in this great location. I would stay here again.

Helpful front desk staff, upgraded us to a nice room with a sofabed. King beds very comfortable, sofabed old and not comfortable. Sofabed not made up with sheets - when we called front desk to send someone up, it took them almost 45 mins. to come up. Otherwise, staff was courteous and helpful. Great location, easy self park below the hotel, spacious room. Would stay there again.

we were there for four days. the check-in and bell staff were wonderful--so friendly and helpful! we had an issue at check-in--i was sure i had booked two beds and they had us in a king. not sure how that happened, but the only room they could give us was a handicap accessible room with no tub. i took it, but hoped to change rooms and that ended up not being an option. there was no bath and with small children this was an issue. the bathroom floor could have been cleaner and the general condition of the room felt a little shabby (for example, there was some drywall rot under the sink). housekeeping must have been overworked that week (the hotel was full), but one day we were out of the room for 6 hours and came back around 4 pm and the room still hadn't been cleaned. i was tipping pretty well and the rooms never felt especially clean. it was a bit of an inconvenience because we then had to leave for another hour. we had just stayed at the brooklyn bridge marriott, and the rooms were similar, but bigger and the housekeeping staff was amazing.

Good Time, bath vent fan weak in bath, room got a bit steamy and can't open window.

It was super clean and they were so friendly. We didn't rent a car so I dont know about the parking; while we were there, there was a conference there. they tried to manage really good. Service was good; Metro (sub) was 4 blocks a way; they have restaurant in the lobby but there is a wall-green and Starbucks at the corner of the (hotel) street! also there were plenty of fast foods around

Overall the stay was great. The staff were wonderful - friendly and attentive. The hot tub was a bit cool but I told them and they fixed it. The pool at this location was STELLAR - a very relaxing place even if it was inside. The bathrooms were older but clean and things like the linens and showerhead were updated. Overall a very nice stay.

This hotel is among the finest experiences we have ever had. Every person we encountered was of high professional quality and helpfulness. The rooms were very large and clean. The lobby is a dream. The food at the restaurant was outstanding, and the location was close to everything we wanted to see and do. I highly recommend and will return each time we visit our daughter who is a student at the University nearby.

I was so happy with this hotel-- for the deal I got on hotels.com, thrilled! I was a little worried when the deal came up-- having seen the rates of the local hotels. I've stayed in two other hotels in DC-- much more $ but not much better. Staff was wonderful. VERY clean, and not "dated" but not the newest- that's OK- my daughter and I felt safe and very comfortable. The beds were really comfortable. The room was so quiet and the blackout curtains so effective that we both overslept the first morning- which was terrific. The hotel was a little out of the way for seeing all the monuments and attractions but the cab fare is much more reasonable than NYC- so you hail a cab more frequently! Used the Metro quite a bit too-- great system also. Didn't eat at the restaurant but I'm sure we will return here for our next visit now that we know this place. Oh, and the 24hr Walgreens on the corner really saved us late one night.

My boyfriend and I had arrived in town a little earlier than expected. We called to see if we could check in a little early (around noon) and they told us to come right down, which was nice. However, the next hour and a half was spent running back and forth from our room to the lobby because each key they gave us for the door did not work. Finally a maintenance guy came and let us in and was supposed to fix the door and come back with another key but he never showed back up. Eventually,they moved us to another room...which should have been done a half an hour into the whole ordeal. It was very frustrating. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable but overall, I did not find it to be up to Marriott's typical standards. The TV was fuzzy, the bathroom was small and carpet was a little worn. The surrouding neighborhood had ALOT of construction going on and parking was expensive, but it was a short 2-3 block walk to DuPont.

Enjoyed my stay at the Washington Marriott. Was convienient to everything. Would most assuredly stay here again.

Very happy to have stayed here. We chose a quiet room over a more spacious room and it was a bit cramped. But very quiet and well-maintained.

Nice rooms, and in a perfect spot for Foggy Bottom / Dupont Circle.

Was warned about noise in Reviews but disinterested front desk put us next to construction site anyway, despite being told about our concerns. Woken up on Monday morning before 6am by unbelievable noise and after complaining we were given a quiet room and free breakfasts and internet as apology. Location is great and room was good.

My family and I where only there for 3 nights. Next time I stay here, and there definately will be a next time we will be staying for a week. The staff where brilliant and couteous and extremly helpful. The room service was tasty and well presented. Thank you to all the staff at the Marriott.

My husband and I were in DC over New Years Eve weekend for the Redskins/Dallas game. This Hotel was very nice. The staff were very polite and helpful. The indoor pool and hot tub were our main reason for choosing this hotel. They were both nice & clean but for some reason, the drain on the hot tub was very loud and constant. It made it hard to relax. The bed in our room was wonderful. Very soft, comfortable and inviting. The hotel is in a very nice part of the city. I felt safe our entire stay. You do have to walk quite a bit to get to restaurants, pubs or even a Metro stop, but I'm pretty sure when you visit DC, walking just comes with the territory. Our legs got sore but we had a nice time.

Hotel is in a good location. Overall hotel is a little tired and dark. Nice fitness center. Pool and hot tub were disappointing.

clean, comfortable room. Noisy during the day due to a construction going on across the street. About 10 minutes walk to the closest subway station. Nice fitness center. Overall very nice experience.

Only complaint was that since we stayed there on a Friday and Saturday night (3rd floor) there was a loud thumping base and music coming from somewhere both nights until about 1am. We couldn't tell if it was coming from a bar nearby or from a ballroom in the hotel, either way it was a little annoying. However, we're young and figured it was just karma for all the times we blared our music in college... Thankfully we were so tired from our sightseeing and concert-going that we passed out quickly both nights. Overall, a fine place to stay. Close to Foggy Bottom metro stop and walking distance to Dupont Circle. Starbucks, and Potbelly right next door for a quick breakfast and a Walgreens too.

The hotel is conveniently located; very clean and comfortable; good price.

Th hotel is fine; however the rooms do not come wit fridges which is a little bit weird.

I get to DC 3-4 times a year for business and thsi Marriott had the best friendliest service of any of the many hotels I have stayed. The staff at the bar/restaurant were excellent and all staff was friendly and helpful.

Good hotel, not convenient to mall and museums, closed pool for holiday weekend? That was one of the reasons we chose it, to swim

To accomodate my request for a king size bed the hotel provided a handicapped accessible room. Shortly after entering the room I noted that although the bed had been made that there were magazines from the previous guest, that the shower had not been cleaned and, in fact, makeup had been smeared in the shower. The next morning as I went out to business meetings, I explained the situation in the hopes that the room would be thouroughly cleaned. When I came back at the end of the day, the room had been cleaned, but the housekeeping staff had taken my toiletry kit. In turn, I called the front desk which sent security up to the room. They could not help me that night as housekeeping had left for the day. The next day, I reminded the staff of my need for my toiletry kit back. Finally that evening the kit was returned. The staff issued no apology or acknowlegment for the situation and inconvenience that I experienced.

Hotel and price was great, location to metros and restaurants was not optimum. Worst issue was not shuttle service which would be a 5* rating to get to and from metros.

Got a great rate for a large, clean and comfortable room with modern decor. Only minor inconvenience was distance to siteseeing but cab fare was not too bad..still worked out cheaper than hotels next to the museums or whitehouse. Theres also a Starbucks and Walgreens right around the corner. Would def stay again!

This was a nice hotel, but our room was very noisy -- from outside noise. There was an intersection right under us with a steel plate, and every time a car ran over it, we heard it ... all night long! (Not the hotel's fault -- but it did affect our rating). Things were a bit over-priced. It was especially frustrating that when you purchased the wi-fi, it only covered one device in your room and did not continue with that device into meeting rooms. Food in the restaurant was good, but again, expensive.

The hotel and staff were excellent! We were close to many amenities, food, transit, etc... Staff was always friendly and helpful when needed. The rooms had great beds.
