Hotel is old, however rooms are clean and pleasant, and the location is right in the heart of the city. Great place for our visit!

The location was great, the breakfast was good, the rooms were clean. Very tired, worn furnishings in rooms. No closet in ours, thin, worn linens, hard beds. Not worth the money.

great location, a little stuffy and old, hard mattresses, good price, the only hotel to include a great buffet breakfast

Great location, walking distance to the Ramblas. Great breakfast and clean large rooms. Only issue is some noise if you get street facing room, and you can feel the metro when it is passing under the hotel.

well situated hotel with very grand hall staircase & public areas .bedrooms rather utilatarian & depressing to look at but spacious and good facilities fridge safe & good bathroom. buffet breakfast wih a selection of hot &cold food good value

Good location, service and condition good for the price. Helpful staff that speak English. Beds were stiff, need replacement. Breakfast crazy expensive, don't bother. <30 min walk to any of the sights. Subway entrance right on the corner, very convenient.

There was construction outside on our first night in the morning. The single rooms are really small (even the shower was 1/2 size) but a good price for the amazing location. Breakfast was great!

we had a great stay at hotel granvia, great location to shops and sites, ambiance of hotel and room is medieval with touch of modern era...however, the elevator stops abruptly in requested floor which was quite scary...the hotel's staircase was awesome,the smaller version of a grand staircase. the reception staff were polite, helpful and speak good english.

Excellent location. The hotel needs an update or renovation, i.e towels, shower curtain, etc. Staff very friendly and great breakfast.

Half of the tourist attractions such as Casa Batllo, Casa Mila (La Pedrera), Museum of Egypt, La Ramblas, just within walking distance. Food and shops are also just round the corner !!

This hotel provided safe and comfortable accommodation close to all the main attractions. I would certainly recommned this hotel for anyone visiting Barcelona, for business or pleasure. In our experience the staff were all very friendly and approachable. The surroundings and decor are traditional and reminiscent of a bygone era, but I think they offer a more authentic Barcelona expereince. Great restaurants in nearby Rambas Catalonia and a fantastic coffee shop just 3 minutes walk along the Gran Via.

Very nice hotel. Great location. Good breakfast. Nice people. Good sevice. Need to upgrade the towels in the bathrooms. Need to upgrade the beds and bed linens. Very few toiletries (soap, shampoo, tissues.) We will go back. We like it.

I was very pleased with The Hotel Gravia, the location was superb, right near the underground and city center and the hotel staff were very helpfull and friendly and spoke many languages. This hotel was beautiful and had a wonderful breakfast in the dining room. It was decorated with victorian furnishings and art .Our room was large and had a nice courtyard view. We would definetly stay there again while in Barcelona.

A bit over-rated. Entrance is grand style but small and how much time can you spend in the foyer? Rooms are small in typical European fashion. Bathroom is so tight in our room it requires some contortion to sit on the toilet. Hotel is supposed to be non-smoking but our intial room smelt strongly of tobacco smoke. Fortunately we were quickly shifted to another room when we brought this to the attention of reception staff.

The hotel is a bit dated and could do with some improvements ie. old fashioned shower attachment connected to bath taps sort of thing but the hotel is brilliant value for money in great location with metro 2 mins walk away. The buffet breakfast is more than you could want, eggs, bacon, fruit, bakery products, cakes, Only criticism is that there is no bar in the hotel but as plenty outside even an english pub 2 mins walk away no major issue. Would recommend the hotel to everyone.

Our room was right off Granvia, and heard sirens a few times. Also could hear the people in the next room as the walls were very thin. Great Location. Less than 5 minute walk to Plaza Catalunya and the Metro stops. Great to walk down La Rambla and back. The shower was modern, but poorly installed. Room was always clean and the hotel staff were nice and very friendly. We had our 4 and 6 year olds with us and they had a great time too.

We would most certainly stay here again. The situation is fantastically convenient, the service great, the room just fine and the breakfast good value

Hotel Granvia in Barcelona, Spain is indeed close to all the must-see sights. The personnel is nice, helpfull and caring. Hotel offers a Great stay for a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Nice ambiance on older Victorian hotel. Beautiful sitting room and cordial service. Centrally located, but a bit noisy on rooms facing the street. We had 2 rooms for 6 days and felt vey well accommodated. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and good. Quite comfortable.

Great location-just 2 blocks north of The Ramblas on Gran Via de les Corts. Elegant interiors throughout with chandelliers, elegant furnishings and wall coverings. Roof top patio a nice plus. This looks like a nice chateau inside. A really great find.

The Hotel Gran Via looks very impressive building, shame the staff were not as good, On arrival at our room it was like an oven, after contacting the reception they said an guy was booked to look at the problem but he could not sort it out and we could not be moved to another room as the Hotel was full so for two nights we slept in a sauna or that's what it felt like. We also had a red hot fridge we contacted the reception and they said we know we will send someone to look at it never happened. The staff were very grumpy, it may be an old nice looking Hotel but it was not.

Although Hotel Granvia was in a good, central location, and relatively clean, the service and comfort left a lot to be desired. We love older, charming hotels with character, but this hotel had old, tired accommodations, thin very used matresses, with one flat pillow, threadbare linens, and small rooms. Not a good value for the price! Watch out for the "finicky" elevator....guests got stuck multiple times!!

Hotel's situation suited our short-term stay and was close to all the things we wanted to do and see.

The hotel has beautiful old rooms - the salon and restaurant are absolutely stunning. The rooms themselfves are a little less beautiful, but still nice. The rooms are quite large, however the beds are too small. If you are longer than 1.80 m you will not fit in and your feet will have a cold night. The hotel has nice location, close to place de la catalunya.

The Hotel Granvia is very basic accommodation. When we arrived, we had to ask to change rooms because the first room they gave us was smoke-filled and the reception replied "it is a non-smoking hotel" but there are ash trays in the hall and it is Espana, the second room they gave to us was more inhabitable. Our shower was clogged but other than that, the room itself was like a nice hostel/ good pension. The hotel is slightly creepy although I can't quite pinpoint why we (my sister and myself) felt that way- maybe because it was older and the public spaces were not on the ground floor but considering its location, it is a great value, I was just happy we only stayed there for a night.

Do not expect AC to work. It is controlled by the reception desk. Was too hot. As soon as we complained, we got a 5 minute blast of cooler air then it was shut off again.

Overall, the location was awesome. Everything is wihtin walking distance from the hotel. Most sights are within a 15 minute walk. Once you get the layout of the city down, the metro stop is on the block of the hotel. The neighborhood is mostly quiet so you'll have a good 10 minute walk or quick cab ride to any bars that are open late. The hotel was clean, but outdated. The tv was miniature and there was no remote control. The temperature in the room can't be changed. You have to pay a few Euros per day if you want to use the safe, which I wasn't too happy about. All the hotel staff, except the one concierge who was rude were helpful.

Hotel Gran Via was an excellent fit for us. We arrived a day early for a cruise to the Mediterranean It's location is near the main street Las Ramblas which takes you to the marina and statue of Columbus where the Hop-on Hop off bus starts its routes for touring the city if you desire. The staff was competent, helpful, friendly and spoke good English. Catalan is the official language of the area, so English speakers are greatly appreciated. I recommend Hotel Gran Via.

This hotel was in a great location for us, near the Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla. It is an older hotel, but that gives it some character (while also somewhat diminishing its comfort level). The hotel staff was hit or miss. The desk clerk on arrival was terrifically helpful; the clerk on departure was abrupt and not so helpful.

The hotel is in an excellent, central location. Lots of nice restaurants and shops nearby. The staff is very helpful. If you are a first time tourist I reccomend the city bus tours. The staff can set you up for that.

Very old style hotel, almost a museum inside. Very unique, but don't expect any luxuries. Close to the main attractions in Barcelona and 20 min from airport, 10 min from port.

My daughters and I found this Hotel to be very accomodating. It was a short cab ride from the train station and from there we where able to walk practicaly everywhere. We took the hop in/out buss to go to further locations. We took advantage of the rich breakfast bar. My olderst is vegan; we purchased soy milk (readily available in any corner store)and she as able to make her "large" nutricious meal from the large selection of fruits cerials. I loved their coffee, fresh bread and cheeses... We had a fantastic time in Barcelona and hope you do to...

Couldn't fault the hotel for location as it was central to all the main sites in Barcelona. It was also pretty quite so you got a good nights sleep as it was mainly elderly guests that were staying there. Could have done with a kettle in the room though. Overall I would go back to this hotel if staying for a short break in Barca

Thought this hotel was good value for money, clean and rooms large and very comfortable BUT thought it was too far out of the centre of Barcelona. It took arond 20 mins in taxi and cost around 30 euro per trip.

Detta hotell har ett mycket bra läge i ett lugnt område men ändå nära till allt. Rummet var lyhört och hade hård säng annars bra. Frukosten medel bäst var juicerna. Här bokar jag nog nästa gång också.

Globalement satisfaits MAIS une des chambres la 118 (numéro absent sur la porte) est à l'entresol très bruyante car - le point INTERNET est à côté - le COMPTOIR ACCUEIL juste au dessous donc les conversations dans le hall et à l' accueil s'entendent beaucoup trop cordialement

Otrevlig personal med dåliga engelskkunskaper. Läget är mycket bra, något kvarter från huvudshoppinggatan. Därintill avgick även direktbuss till flygplatsen. Personalen var inte intresserade av att berätta om det, de ville hellre ringa efter en taxi där de såklart hade provission! Dyr frukost, ingen rabatt för barn - vi åt ute - bättre och billigare. Fina foton på hotellet, men så fint är det inte i verkligheten....

Perfekt hotell för den som vill se de mest omtalade sevärdheterna i Barcelona. Granvia ligger på gångavstånd till allting och dessutom i ett lugnt kvarter där man kan gå även på kvällarna. Hotellet ligger dessutom mitt bland alla stora varuhus om man vill byta sedvärdheterna mot lite flärd och shoppning. Resturangerna finns också i mångfald runt hotellet.

Hotellet har en praktsik plassering. Ligger nært til Placa Catalunya hvor flybussen starter/stopper. Hotellet er ærverdig, har flotte felleslokaler i gammel stil. Rommene er derimot litt slitte men OK størrelse. Litt lytt. Parkett på gulvene var et pluss. Sengene er litt hardere enn hva vi er vant med fra Norge. Frokosten var god.

Sentral beliggenhet, store rom, hyggelig betjening

Ett hotell från gamla tider. Fantastisk interiör. Bra frukost och bra städning. Nära till Metro, La Rambla och flera av Gaudis mästerverk.

La habitación, al ser individual, me resultó un poco pequeña y algo incómoda. Por lo demás, estoy muy satisfecha con hotel, sobre todo con la amabilidad del personal, especialmente el que atendía los desayunos. El desayuno muy completo y variado.
