Clarion Hotel Portland - بورتلاند

the hotel is convenient but definitely a bit run down compared to the other 2 hotels I stayed at this week. It's torn around the edges, my windows were smudged and dirty, but it was totally functional as a hotel. Just compared to the other two I stayed in this week - it was a bit more depressing to stay there.

We encountered a barking dog on our floor. When I called the front desk the clerk was very short and before I could finish my reason for calling he responded "Yep I Know" and hung up on me. The place is not very private. We could hear the ppl in the room beside us just talking and the noise from the hallways was ridiculous. Not to mention the cleaning ladies woke us up at 8:30 wanting us to check out so they could clean our room!

Conveniently located close to the airport. Room was clean with free wi-fi and comfortable bed. I would stay here again.

The Clarion is about 2 miles away from the bustle of downtown Portland, which meant that we had to drive to the Old Port and find parking, which actually wasn't that difficult. Our room was spotlessly clean, and although there weren't many cosmetic frills, the room had a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker, which are often missing in much more expensive hotels. We paid half of what our other family members paid for similar rooms in the downtown historic district, but given the amenities that we did have, and the ease of parking downtown, as well as the short drive, I think we had by far the better deal!

Nice pool area and restaurant. Meals were reasonably priced and food was good. There for business so I had no need to go anywhere else for breakfast or dinner. They do not serve lunch, however, other restaurants were close enough to get to. Desk staff responded quickly to my requests.

Loved the hotel.. great pool, very clean.. very polite staff.. WiFi wouldn't work in our room.. signal strength was good, but repeatedly disconnected.. The heater in our room wasn't working properly and I had to get up every hour or so to either turn off the heater as the temperature had climbed to over 80 degrees, or turn it back on when the temperature had dropped too low.

very nice hotel. only stayed for an hour. concert in Boston was cancelled. will stay here next time in town.

Then staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, location was perfect to the nearby attractions. The hotel itself was very clean, and upscale. Would DEFINATLY stay again!

The service was good. The room was clean and comfortable !

We stayed in this hotel many times and like it a lot. This time, however, the heating system in our room # 117, was broken, made incredible noise every 15 minuted, and was very annoying. The receptionist in the morning told me that they will look into it. That room should not have been given to a guest to start with. We did have a nice dinner, and recieved an outstanding service.

There was an error made and a surcharge was holding money from my account in error, however Don the Supervisor personally took care of the error and apologized as well as offered me a free night stay for my inconvenience. I am very satisfied will stay again. Thank You

It was fine for what it was. The place is a little dated but clean overall

Most convenient location to the transportation hub for late evening arrivals! luxurious bedding! fair price.

Stayed at the Portland Clarion due to no vacancy in Old Port District. The Hotel was fine we don't go on vacation to hang out in or hotel room anyway. The only thing that was annoying was the heater it was loud and kicked on all night about every 20 minutes. This hotel was about 5-10 minute drive to Old Port but also half the price of the hotels in Old Port. I would stay there again but might think about going wheen you don't need the heat/ac, or bring some ear plugs.

This hotel has seen better days. From the elevator that got stuck with us in it (front desk just said "it has good days & bad days" when I told them about this) to the old carpets & bed spreads. Won't stay here next time.

They should offer a light breakfast for people woh stay there,,,,,,

The staff were friendly. I would not use a clarion again for the following reasons: No food places close by to grab a bite. Hotel food is often overpriced and sometimes you just want to grab something and go. Trash outside room 2 doors down the hall still there when we checked out in morning. No continental breakfast/ or even complimentary coffee. Wifi was down and printer didn't work. Staff was very helpful but no IT person available. Price was way too high- given the prior items

I had hoped to stay closer to the Old Port area in town but couldn't find a room, so stayed at the Clarion instead. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff was very welcoming. This was a very pleasant stay.

It was a convenient stop on our way to northern Maine. Carpets in the hallways seemed to have not been vacuumed in a few days ( maybe cost saving item) but the price was great and the rooms were clean. We would stay there again. Dining options after 11 were very limited, but the local dominoes was fast and friendly!

Great location. 1.2 mi. from airport. Just a few minutes from old port section.

room seemed a bit rundown...stains on rug. air conditioner impossible to adjust. hotel common areas ok. lovely concierge. location not at all convenient to downtown, whwich we thought it was.

In my three nights of staying at the Clarion, I observed the hotel's Manager and General Manager were both very active in making sure the guests needs and requests were taken of.

There was a serious mainteance issue the entire time we stayed-buckets all over the lobby catching dripping water from the ceilings-and not a single note or apology from the staff about appearance. It smelled terrible in the entire hotel. The gym was under renovation and not open. Everything about this place was 10-20 years out of date and in desperate need of a serious cleaning. Carpets were disgusting, window treatments had holes, wallpaper was peeling. Unless you get an insane deal on this place, spend your money elsewhere!

The room itself was fine, clean and comfortable. The bathroom faucet was tricky to shut off, and the fan didn't seem to work. The fitness center was closed for renovation to the disappointment of my son and nephew. The ceiling was leaking in four or five places in the lobby. Buckets and towels placed to catch the leaks did nothing to add to the hotel's ambience. The location was good - it was an easy drive to the waterfront and the Old Port sections of Portland.

While I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the lobby and bar areas of the hotel were that all changed when we made it up to our room. The room had a strage musty odor. As I put my things down I went over to check out the bed and was very disappointed to find that it wasn't a pillow top mattress as advertised. I have to admit that promise of a pillow top mattress was what led me to chose this hotel over others in the area. "Pillowtop" turned out to be a slightly padded mattress pad that shifted during the night. As we spent more time in the room I noticed how unclean it was. There was hair on the walls of the shower and on the bathroom floor. There was a dirty pillow case by the nightstand. My biggest pet peeve is staying in a room that I feel hasn't been cleaned properly. When I mentioned the cleanliness issues to the front desk staff the next morning all I got was an, "Oh, I'm sorry. We could have had someone come up to clean that for you." After being up since 3am for our flight the last thing I wanted was a stranger in my room cleaning what should have been done before we arrived. Inexcusable. I have stayed in many 3 star hotels. This was 2 at best.
