Nothing negative about my stay. Staff and hotel were great!

Wonderful, amazing location would definately stay there in the future. Only thing that I did not like was the air from the fan, too cool considering the weekend was very cold, other than that amazing. Could not get the fan to stay off. Would be nice to include a Continental Breakfast considering the cost to stay at this hotel.

this hotel is very conveniently located, close to all the attractions. byward market is very lively during the evenings. i stayed there for a couple of days during the winterlude opening weekend. my booking included breakfast, and i had a confirmation email for that too, but the receptionist never acknowledged that at all, and was very rude. it seemed like she had a rough day and was letting it out!! that is not what you would expect from someone in a customer facing role. the matter of the fact was not weather the breakfast was included or not, it simply was her attitude. and then in the lift met another older couple who were also complaining about that particular receptionist. anyways i didnt give it much thought and had a good time!!!! would not go there again though!!

Great location. Didn't realize had to pay for parking. The pool and jacuzzi were great. Husband uses walker. Unable to access room, without going through the pool area, however staff were pleasant, and assisted us to our room. Would suggest those needing handicapped access to make sure to point that out ahead of time, or make sure to book a room that is accessible by elevator.

I had a lovely fourth floor room that faced the courtyard. I have no complaints, other than the fact that the heating vent did ping and bang occasionally. (I thought it was the noise from the hallway, but it turned out to be the heating vent.) This problem was minor however, and I would definitely stay here again.

Loved staying at the Marriot and have done so before, the staff as always were very good.The only problem we had was being on the street side of the 1st floor, it was very rowdy till almost 3am, we even had some drunk bang on the window. There was also some cadets that needed to woken at the crack of dawn, by having their doors banged on.So if I recommend any of my friends I would tell them to make sure they were not on the 1st floor. Hope to see you next year.

the floor we were on smelled like a combination of dirty diapers and vomit. Inside the room things were clean and nice, we did however notice that everytime someone walked by the hotel on the sidewalk, we could hear them plain as day--we were on the 3rd floor!! At about 11p.m. the bar across the street started playing the music VERY loud and this kept us up till about 2:30, then it was people on the street walking by again til 4. All in all not a very good stay. This building needs better windows. We chose this hotel because of the closeness to our daughters apartment and the Byward Market and the Zombie walk that went on that weekend. If you are going to Ottawa for the bar scene, this will get you there, but we will not be staying there again.

This hotel has just been renovated and everything looks amazing. It is located in the Byward Market and the price is reasonable. Great front desk service.

horrible stay this service was appalling!!

Please don't use my name or address in the published review. We loved the hotel and all the specifics. The only problem was that our room, 330, was noisy. That is, we heard a lot of noise from elsewhere, late into the night. Don't know whether it was from an adjoining room or above or below us, but it was bad enough to disturb our sleep and rest. Don't know why I didn't complain to the hotel. I think I was just too beat to do even that. Big mistake. Otherwise the hotel is great. Perfect location and clean and very good in every other respect.

Very good location; adjacent to the market. Clean room. Clean pool. Nice lounge. Would recommand.

This was the first time I used Hotels.com and I'm convinced this is one of the greatest services on earth! We stayed one night (Sat. nite) booked the place on Friday morning. Got the room for half the price! I love saving money. Parking was cheaper than the lots in the surrounding area, and I paid one flat rate for 26 hours. Staff were great when I asked if I could leave my car there after checkout. The hotel is right in the middle of Byward Market, behind the Rideau Centre and 10 mins from Parliament Hill. Hotel Staff were so friendly and helpful, they were great at listing all the services in the area. Neighbourhood was a little loud Sunday morning until 3 a.m., but other than that it was very quiet. Definitely have recommended this hotel and this website to everyone I have come into contact with in the last 3 days.

I did have a short stay and it was wonderful. I would come again and would tell any one that want to come to Ottawa to stay there but you need to put a cooler in each room that would be nice, Thank you DP,

The location is really perfect for restaurants, the Byward Market, and shops. The 'hop-on'hop-off' bus also stops two blocks away. The STAFF was FANTASTIC; really helpful; just a delight! I look forward to returning.

Overall the hotel and staff where good. The issue was the latenight noise from Bar across the street. " But" was that to be expected seeing the hotel was located in the ByWard market. Found the overall experice good but over priced for what was recieved.

I would recommend this hotel to others and stay there again maybe next year. The room's appearance was clean and the bed was comfortable. My family and I especially enjoyed the breakfast specials included with the stay. The location was excellent and we walked to several places for entertainment.

Very convenient location for Ottawa.

We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott for the Ottawa Race Weekend and found the staff to be incredibly accomodating. First of all, they gave us a great restaurant suggestion (Stella) which was perfect for our pre-race meal. They also allowed us to extend our check out time because we were running the half marathon that morning. Getting to shower after the race and not have to rush felt like heaven. Staying close to the start/finish line was also great and even though it was a bit loud in the Market the night before, the convenient location paid off in the end. Thanks so much for such a great stay!

This was my fourth stay at Courtyard. The service is always great and you cannot beat the location. The hotel was under renovations but it did not affect the quality of service or pose any inconveniences. You can find hotels for a lower price in the area but you won't be in the heart of the market. The only downfall is that parking is $19/day.

Too expensive for the average person who is retired.

Hotel has very convinient location, but neighberhood is noisy during weekend ( Hard Rock Cafe ).

Hotel was great, my room was cold, the temperature gauge never kicked in until the next morning to warm it up. That needs to be checked. Also, the ceiling over the bathtub is an eye sore. Other than that, the hotel was great.

My husband and my sixteen month old daughter are allergic to dust and struggled the entire night. They both did not get a restful night sleep and then my husband was cranky the next day.

The hotel and its staff were friendly and helpful at all times; clean rooms; nice pool and workout room; good email system; but of all things this hotel rates high in my mind because of its location--walk to all sites, Parliament, museums, and the Byward Market, around the block---close to restaurants and nite life--a great 3 days spent--we'll retunr for sure.

The Courtyard Mariot is a decent place. As others say, the best thing about it is the location in the market. A few quibbles: no bathroom fan (that I could detect) and a crowded parking lot. The neighbourhood is so noisy it kept us up! But overall I'd say they were friendly and the hotel is well kept, and we got a good rate.

Location is great!! Hotel is clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend for anyone that wants to go out in the Byward Market!

The hotel was very clean and the location was wonderful. However, our experience the first night was less than desirable. We were assigned a room on the first floor adjacent to an outside door which opened to the main street and across from the kitchen and service elevator. The traffic noise at night was bad enough, but the rude awakening the next morning was shocking. The kitchen staff arrived very early and used the service elevator to take out five large garbage cans which they placed on the street directly outside our window. The noise made by the garbage collectors at six o'clock in the morning was extremely loud as was the clanging of pots, pan, and dishes coming from the kitchen. Not how I exactly wanted to receive a wake-up call. We had requested a room change upon checking in, but was told that there were no comparable rooms available. However, after such a sleepless night, we again requested a change in room and after an explanation of the night we had spent, were given an upgraded room on the second floor along with a credit for our parking that night. The hotel attendant was very apologetic during the switch and again the morning of checkout. I would recommend this hotel based on its convenient location, but would caution guests to request a room on an upper floor. The breakfast provided, although not complimentary, was well worth the price. The food was quite good and the wait staff very attentive.

Staying in Ottawa in the Market is noisy but fun.

Tres satisfaire

J'ai séjourné au Courtyard by Marriott les 22 et 23 avril avec mon copain. À notre départ, nous avons constaté du vandalisme sur notre auto. Une longue rainure a été faite (visiblement avec une clé) le long du coffre arrière de la voiture. Nous vous recommendons donc de stationner votre véhicule préférablement dans le stationnement intérieur de l'hôtel. Bien entendu, nous ne tenons pas l'hôtel responsable du dommage fait à notre voiture puisque le stationnement extérieur est accessible à la marche par tout le monde.

Parce qu'il est très bien situé, nous allons à cet hôtel depuis environ 20 ans mais il semble qu'il soit en constante rénovation. Il y avait (encore!!!) un chantier au 2e étage. On nous a réservé une chambre à environ 1 km de l'ascenseur (!!!) car le corridor était fermé en partie et nous devions faire un immense détour pour aller et venir vers l'ascenseur , même chose pour l'accès à l'escalier de service. Finalement on nous a changé de chambre car le chauffage ne fonctionnait pas (58 degrés en janvier dans la chambre...). Une fois installés dans une autre chambre, tout était bien mais pour un séjour d'une nuitée, il nous est resté une impression de bousculade dans ce bref passage. De plus, il est inadmissible que le personnel de la réception ne soit pas bilingue . Nous parlons anglais mais souhaitons être servis dans notre langue d'usage qui est le français. Nous sommes toujours tentés de retourner et recommanderions cet hôtel à cause de sa situation mais je crois qu'on ne peut s'attendre à un hâvre de paix et à un service au-dessus de la moyenne.
