It was an Ok hotel, with a very convenient location, very close to Oslo downtown, train stations and bus to the airport.

Hotel location is excellent and convenient. Hotel staff very courteous and helpful. Breakfast is very good and overall very pleased with hotel. Will definitely come back.

Hotel was very clean, recently renovated and in a great location to all the sites. Most of all, we loved the breakfast - they had anything and everything you could want with a few great Norwegian dishes you could try. Definitely worth the stay just for the breakfast! Very friendly hotel staff as well. Only negative was they didn't provide any bathroom amenities - literally had a tiny bar of soap and a "shampoo/body wash all in one" dispenser on the wall. Good thing I brought conditioner!

We had a great stay. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They had excellent English. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room was well set out. Location was quite central. Lots of English films on the tv so no need to purchase extra movies if you feel like having a night in. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and the hot chocolate from the machine in the lobby and free internet were the icing on the cake!

Slightly worn rooms with full carpet and separate beds. In an more expensive room wooden floor, slightly more room space, and double bed available. No amenities apart from hair dryer + soap/shampoo. Nice addition to low-cost hotel like this was the possiblity to have "room service" from local pizza chain.

The hotel was in a good location. Its easy to get around Oslo with public transportation. Hotel staff were helpful and spoke good english. Our room on the 9th floor was warm but we opened the window at night. Overall we had an excellent stay. The rooms are small by American standards.

Very enjoyable stay. Breakfast was a bit different to what we were used to but all in all a very enjoyable stay. Would have liked the option of a swimming pool. Very friendly staff

Look at a map and you might be misled into thinking that this hotel is too far from Oslo 'attractions'. This couldn't be further from the truth - it is a very short walk from National Theatre T-Bahn station with direct express access to the airport and only a few minutes from the Royal Palace, the City centre and the harbour. For Norway this hotel represents real value for money; the breakfasts were ample, there are free-vend hot drinks available in the foyer and free Internet throughout. Dinners in the attached bar-restaurant were varied and ample yet very reasonably priced by Norwegian standards and served with a smile. Overall good value for money and very conveniently located.

Stayed 4 nights in this wonderfully located hotel right near the Palace Park and 2 minutes walk to main street and 8 minutes walk to ferry terminal and harbour area. But more than that was the most respectful way the staff treated us and each other. they obviously enjoy working here. Breakfast was just too much food and choice! Highly recommeded. Perfect if you are pushed for time, hotel has great central location. Prices great value compared to rest of city. Breakfast choice and availability good.

My husband and I found this hotel a great spot to stay in Oslo. It is good quality, the breakfast buffet is very very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located just around the corner from the Radisson where the bus from the airport picks up and drops off from. It takes about 40 mins by bus to the airport. Originally we caught the Express train from the airport that takes 20 mins, but then had to get from the other end of town to the hotel. The bus is definitely the best option if staying at this hotel (and cheaper too). The hotel is about a 5 min leisurely walk to Karl Johans Gate and maybe another 5 mins to Aker Brygge. So, great location. We walked a lot and you can see most sights by walking. I would also recommend getting the Oslo Pass - very good value for money.

Enjoyed sunny w.end in this great city - Thon Europa is very convenient to trams, metro and harbour area. Good choice at breakfast and helpful staff. Oslo expensive but really worth a short break - dont expect to eat or drink too much!

The room was fairly spacious and quite clean. The same was true for the bathroom. There was adequate space to hang up and store our clothing. The breakfast buffet was very good. The location of the hotel was excellent---in a good neighborhood and close to the main sights and to a metro stop. The room was rather expensive, at least compared to what one would pay in the U.S., but the rate was competitive for Oslo, which tends to be expensive. I would stay here again if visiting Oslo.

Got room at a very good rate, and loved the downtown location. Other participants at my conference paid considerably more for a more remote location. This is not a luxury hotel, but the room was clean and rather spacious by European standards. Contacted Hotel Europa in advance and asked for a room away from the street, which was arranged. Great breakfast service. The only disadvantage was that I couldn't check in early.

Nice, better than basic, business-type hotel in lively neighborhood. Easy to walk to sights or to use public transportation on nearby tram, bus lines. Helpful staff. We were three older women traveling together thru Norway.

Good location, walking distance to all the sights, breakfast was really good, juice, cereals, fruit, fish, salad, bread, eggs, sausages, yogurts, fresh and restocked regularly. Bed not that comfy, roll in the middle and valance sheet had a few marks on it although all the other sheets were clean and fresh. Staff were very polite and helpful. Would recommend this hotel for the price.

This hotel has a fantastic location - 10-minute walk to all the major sights in Oslo. The staff are friendly, and breakfast is delicious. I recommend getting down to breakfast early because it gets crowded later in the morning. The wireless internet is free and fast. The rooms are a bit outdated, but it makes little difference to me. The location is so good that I don't even care. When traveling from the airport, I highly recommend taking the Flybussen (coach bus) all the way to the last stop at the Radisson Blu. From there, the hotel is a 30-second walk right around the corner! The buses run every 30 minutes. A great hotel!

Great hotel for weekend break

This is very good value for money in the very centre of town. I took the cheapest room, and it turned out to be recently redecorated and had a balcony with a nice view from the 7th floor. Also there's free wifi and a varied breakfast buffet. Full marks.

How can you say anything bad about a hotel that offers free hot chocolate (or cappuccinos, lattes, etc.) 24/7?! Our stay at the Thon Hotel Europa was great. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were bigger than expected and very comfortable, the free breakfast is the best free breakfast I've had at a hotel yet, and the location was great. The attached restaurant, Cafe Europa, is also a great spot. Friendly service and tasty food and beverages. No complaints here. I look forward to visiting Oslo and the Thon Hotel Europa again.

The price was right. The hotel is clean and staff pleasant. We had a bit of a mix up with rooms but we changed it and it was fine. The single beds tend to be quite small. One feels like rolling off when you roll over in the night. The best part of the deal is a delicious breakfast buffet with numerous hot dishes but great heaps of fish to devour. It was an enjoyable stay, a good location if you want to be close to the center with good tram connections. Good price to quality ratio.

We arrived in Oslo with heavy rain. We got to check in immediately. The boiler and tea bags in our room are really a plus. Staffs are very helpful and nice. Breakfast is very good. With three tram lines around the corner, it is very convient to move around. This hotel is near the Royal Palace and National Gallery. With short walk to harbor and main shopping area. I really enjoyed sitting in the garden behind the Royal Palace at end of the day. I will book again if I visit Oslo in the future.

Great location: could not be closer to museums and sites. We had a quiet room in the back. Free internet and hot drinks. Great breakfast.

The staff at the Thon Hotel Europa are remarkable - efficient, courteous, and willing to assist in every aspect of your stay in Oslo. Our room was fresh and clean, with a charming balcony overlooking the grounds of the palace. The wIreless was flawless and the complimentary breakfast choices were plentiful. The hotel is a short walk to most of the major sights in Oslo and just a few streets away from the National Gallery where Munch's "Scream" is on permanent display. Also nearby is The London Pub - one of Oslo's most popular gay clubs - and the Hercules Sauna is only a fifteen minute walk. Highly Recommended!

Our first three nights in Oslo were at the Thon Hotel Europa, close to the centre of Oslo, and included a Saturday night. Our room was at the back, it was beautifully quiet and there was no problem with getting an early breakfast when we had an early train to catch. Service in the restaurant was quick and efficient, the breakfast was excellent. It was a welcome bonus to have tea and coffee in the room. It was well located for sighseeing too. A good choice!

We chose the hotel for convenience, comfort and cost. It's location directly adjacent to the tram line made it very convenient, but the advertising did not stress this aspect and we, unfortunately chose to take a cab from central station rather than go by tram. Cab's are outrageously expensive in Stockholm and the travelers should be advised how to use the tram which goes right by the hotel (and does contribute to the noise) and stops only 50 meters away.

This unremarkable travelodge style hotel is located by a tram line, so the 20 min walk from the train station can be avoided. The nearest metro station is a 5 min walk. Everything was OK, but not a hotel for a romantic break. This is a business type hotel with no frills.

Great hotel near the Royal Palace. Standard room is a decent size and in good condition, however bathroom is a little small and run down but clean nonetheless. Decor in rooms is quite modern. There are several english channels on flat screen TVs in room. Buffet breakfast includes hot and cold food...variety of meats, fish, cheese and salads, cereal, yoghurts, pastries, breads and the standard eggs, beans, bacon and sausage. Added bonus is free tea/coffee from fresh coffee machine in reception. Breakfast is from 7am-11am weekends, but 7am-10am on weekdays, which reception failed to mention to us so missed breakfast one morning.

pleasant welcome to hotel and eager to help a first time visitor to oslo,fortunately the weather was very hot but unfortunately no air-conditioning,ample breakfast vast choice so well set up for busy touristing.free internet in lobby,along with lovely coffee gratis,oslo is very expensive but a city worth visiting.

We were very happy with our choice of the Thon Hotel Europa. It is very central, close to transport and other amenities - but our room at the back was very quiet. The room was small but comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast selection was good. The staff we met were all helpful and friendly but the bed-making was not 100% though! We were also lucky with the weather and look forward to visiting Oslo and the hotel again soon.

It's a little expensive but you get a great hotel. Everything was so clean and the room was renovated nicely. It's a little bit of a walk from the train with the luggages. Otherwise, everything else was satisfied

Passe sentralt, rolige omgivelser. Litt "gamle" rom, men god plass.

Der er støj fra gaden - især fodgængerovergangen støjer en del, også om natten. Ellers et rigtig fint hotel og super belligenhed.

Eg hadde eit flott opphold. Dåke har ein mann med frokosten som gjekk å rydda av og tørka bordene. Dette var ein flott og smilande mann. Alle som er morgongretne må berre bli blid av han når han kommer å seier "god morgon" til deg. Han får alle stjenene eg har å dele ut. Ein super flott mann. Sei det til han. Eller var romme flott kvar ettermiddag eg kom tilbake og resepsjonen sa hei og smilte kar gong eg kom. Har ikkje noko å klage på. Når det gjelder romme, synes eg vel kansje at det var litt enkelt, kansje lit for enkelt. Så då ein skal vera der i 1 uke, så hadde det vert kjekt viss det var litt meir kosli der og at eg kunne ha dradd tv ut fra veggen slik at eg slapp å sitte i sengen for å se tv. Eller alt topp :)
