Very noisy air conditioner on and off all night made it imposible to sleep.and the bed did not help either.

This hotel has a Sports theme and is right next door to a Horse Race Track and Gambling Casino. Although away from downtown Miami, freeways are nearby for easy access to sites on the east side of town.

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was great, everything was clean. And best of all the bed was great.

The attention is excelent

Hotel located close to a hwy. service was okay. They charge additional resort fee... Room wasn't too clean but not too bad. Overall it was just okay. There's a casino near by. Probably wouldn't stay here again unless there's nothing else available.

it's ok

This is a good hotel in general. The room was very clean and roomy. What makes it a 2.5 star is the staff because they are not helpful -- god forbid you ask them a question. The bar/restaurant on the upper floor is beautiful but since they didn't have enough customers they closed it when we arrived and that was disappointing. Suggest you go when the dolphins play, when it usually gets business.

Hotel was pretty decent, has a nice pool outside and rooms aren't bad, especially for the price.

Don't let the pictures fool you. The rooms are gross.

I really like staying in El Palacio Sports Hotel. The staff is freindly and the room is clean. The only thing that you might not like is its location. It is about 20 min to the south beach. However, I do not think that a reason to let you not to choose it.

Wi-Fi worked well, restroom looked clean, towels didn't match, TV was on a platform that allowed you to turn it to face your bed, room had microwave and fridge, the balcony was only 2 feet long, couldn't fit a chair in my balcony like the picture,

Drove in from out of town with my 10 year old son to watch the Dolphins and Raiders. Great, great location! Room was clean and hotel was recently renovated. The hotel is within walking distance to Sun Life Stadium, as well as the Caldor Casino and horse track. The hotel is sports-themed with basketball courts, a pool, putt-putt golf, as well as Legends, a huge sports bar/restaurant on the 9th floor. Plenty of big screens and great food. It has an awesome view of the horse track as well as Sun Life stadium. We loved it. I would definitely stay there again. Very family friendly.

The outside appearance and activities were very nice. However, the rooms need to be updated. The bathroom was disgusting, the ceiling was leaking brown water and above the shower was a horrible patch job that was weak and looked like it was ready to fall apart any minute. The ac was inconsistent so i was either freezing or sweating, a comfortable temperature was not possible. The TV was fuzzy, the picture was horrible. The hotel has a sports bar but on a saturday night it was closed 10:30, on a weekend night! Other than that the staff was very nice and the hotel had a great location next to the stadium.

"Neighborhood" consists of a nearby casino and racetrack, noisy freeway, and busy 6-lane, otherwise nothing else around. Any restaurants are 1-2 miles away, otherwise just the casino nearby which has very low-quality food. Had a mediocre burger and fries at hotel restaurant, Another day it was open tried to order take out but nobody answered phone after trying for 15 minutes. Went up there and nobody around, so had pizza delivered. Cont. breakfast ok. Walking anywhere you take your life into your own hands. No sidewalk in front of the hotel, and no crosswalk across the 6-lane. You'l need a car here for sure unless you don't mind attempting the crossing and a couple miles walk to reach any shopping or food. Hotel seems pretty clean, they don't seem to use odor cover-up chemicals that most hotels use--a big plus for me. Carpeting though is highly questionable. Spilled about an ounce of water on the carpet and it raised a bad smell, which got on my feet when I stepped on the spot. Also two electrical outlets were loose, which means they are likely to fail soon--fire hazard. No strong odors from cleaning products. Front desk staff had a professional approach.

Great spot for relaxation. Near to major highway. Calder Racecourse and Casino nearby for more entertainment.

I chose El Palacio because of its proximity to Joe Robbie Stadium (errrr, Pro Player Stadium, errr Sun Life Stadium). The staff is very accommodating, and you can walk to the stadium. I took a red-eye in and they allowed me to check in at 9 AM. Willy, who helps manage the continental breakfast (which is free, although not amazing) was wonderful. My room had a nice balcony overlooking the race track and the stadium. If you wanted to bring a pizza in, and eat it on your balcony-you will be living the dream. I know some of the reviews speak negatively about the neighborhood, but I saw nothing frightening about it. The hotel is located near a turnpike on one side, a casino and race track on the other and across the main drag leading up to the hotel is what appears to be a low-income, but neat residential area. Besides, on game day there is plenty of police guiding traffic. The stadium is about 3/4 of a mile away-on the other side of the casino/racetrack. If you cross the main drag between the stadium and the hotel (so you are walking on the west side of the street) there is a sidewalk all the way. When you get to the stadium, just recross the street. The hotel could use a little freshening up. It is kind of one of those places where you don't want to take your socks off. The toilet paper holder, for example was rusty. There is a restaurant at the top of the building, but it is only open during football season and not during the week. The Hotel.com review will not let me submit this without saying if I recommend El Palacio. I recommend it with reservations (no pun intended). For a weekend roady to catch a game, this is an inexpensive place. If you stay here you will be in good hands and have more money to spend at the game or for a nicer restaurant afterwards. On the other hand, if you are fussy about being in a hyper classy place...

THE HOTEL STAFF WAS VERY. WE WERE THERE FOR MARLINS GAME AND ITS VERY CONVENIENTLY LOCATED

The only good thing about this hotel is that it is walking distance to Sun Life Stadium. The staff is rude and the walls are very thin so don't plan on sleeping in.

however the beds were not comfortable at all, and they no longer do the breakfast upstairs, they moved it to the first floor by the vending machine/workout/pool area-not good at all, it needs to be put back upstairs in the restaurant!

The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very frendly and willing to go above and beyond my expectation.

close to the stadium but the hotel is very old and outdated. Furniture in the room was very worn. Toilet made loud squeaky sound when flushed. The computer in the lobby was broken. Massage chairs in lobby did not work. Sports grill was closed for the season so we had to go out to eat. Probably a hotel for a sports fan there for the game but not for a family vacation. Golf course and pool had alot of leaves and need to be cleaned more often.

nice location, staff very helpful,continental breakfast ok but there is a musty smell in the hallways and in the room. It would be nice if you could correct this musty smell as this affects people with allergy

This hotel is terrible. Not only is it in a terrible neighborhood but the guests and hotel employees are terrible as well. We went to enjoy a baseball series at Marlins stadium and knew the palacio was the only hotel within walking distance. Upon arriving we realized the Sports bar located on top was closed for the summer? How is that possible- It is called the Sports Hotel. They also claimed it was a christian hotel, there was no christian activity in that area. The entire hotel smelled of wacky tobacky all weekend and didn't feel safe having armed secuirty protecting the doors because of previous violence. Also, it isn't close to anything worth doing. I'll give it that it has a lot of strip clubs around but no bars nwithin five miles. Never go here at ALL. Stay in South Beach

To many men hanging around out front. Hallways have a mildew smell. Mildew bathrooms, weed smoke smell on the 4th floor. Look like hookers turning tricks. I have stayed here 3 times n no more!

i was with my family, good hotel, have minigolf, pool and gym, i think always must inmprovement, i recommended.

If you are into Gambling or sports activities.this is a great location.If you are into beaches or other activities like Shopping, site seeing,etc. Any hotel east of HWY 95 will be a perfect location.

The El Palacio hotel was in a perfect location of where I needed to be. It was clean, the staff was professional and there was a Casino right next door. How cool was that!? They also had a very clean pool, work out area and night life activities on the 9th floor. One thing is for sure you wont get board when staying the the El Palacio sports motel.

The outer appearance was marvelous. Very classy and clean place. Friendly staff. Very accomadating. Handled us with much care . The location was perfect for our shopping and out to eat runs. Close to or semi close to all the happenings and must see places in Miami. Couldnt of been more pleased.

I was very pleased with the stay, I was not so happy with housekeeping. I feel as if there are 4 people in a room they should leave eough towels and wash cloths for 4 people. Other than that I really enjoyed my stay.

this hotel looks good from outside but very durty carpet, blanket is never changed. if u call service desk 9 out of 10 times nobody will pick up phone. never eat in the resturant which is inside this hotel.

Hotel was clean, beds were a bit old and uncomfortable, service was a bit preoccupied but it was a busy weekend. Cleaning crew left my door open, thank God nothing was missing! Overall a decent stay for the money.
