I knew they were renovating but all rooms at once was a bit odd. Was moved twice because of construction smell. Maybe after reno it would be a nice place, but area still not a nice part of town.

The hotel is being renovated. The hammering in the room directly below us started at 7:15am. Not a fun way to be woken up while on vacation. A call to the front desk didn't help. The banging continued. Water was barely warm in the shower. The one thing my kids did like was the indoor pool. Good size and they had it all to themselves. Free breakfast was ok. I would strongly suggest you not stay here until they are done renovating unless you plan on checking out before the banging begins.

hotel is currently under renovations and it shows. it is located off the highway for easy access. room had microwave and refridgerator, very nice, but carpet needs to be replaced.

It was very convenient to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Room was OK. It was clean. People were nice. It was under renovation but they seemed to have handled that OK, as well.

Stayed one night with young children (2 and 4 yo). Not much to do in the surrounding area. Pool and game room were clean. Breakfast was disappointing, even for a continental breakfast. Lobby and elevators were a bit dirty from the construction going on in the hotel. It will likely be better once the construction is done.

This is my third time staying at City Place and each time I've enjoyed my stay. This most recent time they were undergoing renovations, so it was a bit loud very early in the mornings, but I can only anticipate that they are upgrading the rooms and making it an even better place to stay. Definitely recommend it!

The hotel had no king bedrooms available-low floors only...close to highway. Parking lot was blocked off. all in all, underwhelming!

My experience with this hotel was very nice. I wish their were more option in breakfast selection but overall it was a very nice stay.

This hotel was nice enough, clean, friendly staff. They are currently (01/12) renovating which is impossible to do quietly. Started at about 8 Am so it wasn't too bad and it wasn't extremely obnoxious but was definitely a little annoying. The hotel was clean and the staff was really nice, it's really easy to get to the hotel as it is right off the freeway. Once the renovation is done it will be a nice place to stay.

The hotel staff was pleasant enough but clearly annoyed with how busy it must have been before my husband and I arrived. It took 2 key tries and room changes before we got settled in a room. We had booked as a last minute thought since we were attending a party for New Year's Eve in Springfield. Overall, the room was okay but the not as clean as one might expect a hotel room. The toilet was scrubbed clean in the bowl but had hairs and urine (?) splatters on it. We cleaned it ourselves before using. In the morning, continental breakfast was abysmal.

1. Over Priced 2. Rattling Pipes 3. Broken Old Uncomfortable Beds! 4. Combined Heat/AC wall unit was very loud. 5. Cleaning was ok at best 6. Tube TV's with 10 channels and crappy reception 7. Continental Breakfast was an Epic Fail! Barely a Motel 8 breakfast in huge hotel. They use the cheapest plasticware you can get. the only + was the view from the 12th floor The lobby and elevators were clean. The staff in general was luke warm. The pool looked sketchy The game/snack room was a joke! I would never stay here again!

I was in Springfield for a conference. I was pleased with the cleanliness of the place plus the comfort of the beds.

I stayed at City Place during a major power outage in our state of CT. Everyone was looking for hotel rooms in bordering states. I was lucky enough to get a room at City Place. Even though the employees were under an enormous amount of stress, they were all soooo... nice and helpful to everyone. City Place should be very grateful to have such great employees at their Springfield, MA. hotel.

Breakfast was satisfying but I was disappointed with plastic plates, knives, forks, spoons etc. And the swimming pool area was shabby.

We found this place at the very last minute- it was the only available room without a 2-night minimum and that takes pets. It's appropriate if your goal is a business trip. The neighborhood is iffy. That may have something to do with the crazy behavior coming from the adjoining room. Security came up promptly, twice, and the problem was solved. The room was comfortable and clean. They have a typical self-serve breakfast room, however, the staff did not seem interested in working. The coffee was old and when the trays of hot food was emptied, at 7:30, they disappeared, never to be seen again. Overall, it's an okay place in an area without alot of reasonable accomodations

Not many guests around, not much near the hotel. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to praise either.

We used this hotel for 1 night for our visit to Six Flags. This is an older hotel and it shows in in many areas.However, the room was clean as was the bathroom. We requested a non-smoking room, and that's what we were given. The staff was pleasant and helpful. There was a wide variety of items at the continental breakfast, and the stations were well kept. The hotel is right off the highway which made it relatively easy to find.

Wasnt planning on going to this hotel. Was the only one available in the area the night we were trying to find a hotel. Staff very friendly, room clean..it said room was non smoking but had like a faint smell of cig smoke. Morning Complimentary breakfast was good, only complaint was they had paper/styroform plates and plastic silverware. Hard to cut belgian waffle (which were yummy) with a plastic fork/knife, had to eat with hands !!Convienent location for any travelers to the area.

I would not recommend this hotel. This hotel is the old Holiday Inn that went out of business. It's not near the hotels you're thinking of downtown! It's right next to Bay State Hospital and seems more like a halfway house than a hotel. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra 20 dollars and go get a room at the Sheridan.

Bed bugs in my bed!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at City Place Inn & Suites, and that is something for me to say because I am a very picky person. There is only one thing I would like the management to take a look at: bedroom curtains do not close all the way - if you are an early morning person, okay, but too light if you are not.

The inn is located near a noisy freeway, the decor is old and dreery. I would rate it no better than a motel 6 or a travel inn yet you pay for what one would imagine a middle of the road hotel. The continental breakfast is no better than a school cafeteria. All in all not a happy night. Will never stay there again.

Front desk exceptional to help us find locations of restaurants and our conference location at Springfield College. All 5 front desk staff were knowledgeable and supplied maps.

We were in town for Springfield College's family weekend. We only stayed one nite and the price and convenience were what we needed. It is in a sketchy part of town and requires a car. Parking is free. While we did not take advantage of the complimentary bfast, we were pleased it was an option. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here.

The first thing we saw when we pulled in from a 7 hour drive was a drug deal, right out front of the building. Check-in was painless. We get to our room it smelled horrible. The smell was coming from the bathroom, it smelled like a sewer back up. The rest of the room was not too bad. The beds are horrible, the mattress are hard and just not comfortable. Also, what is with all the homeless people hanging out in front of the building? They look like they live there? I will not come back to Park City Inn, ever.

The City Inn and Suites in Springfield Ma is not a hotel you would want to stay. The first room we had one of the windows was cracked from one side to the other and splitting from top to bottom. There was a plastic knife in the chair and a barrett stuck in the phone book. There was a spider in the bath tub. The guide said there were refigerators and microwaves in the room. We had neither one . The pool hours said from 9-11 but the staff closed it at 10. There was workout room and washer , dryer, area. It was convenient to the main highway . If I had to stay more then one night I would have left immediately.

I guess for the price it's not bad: the free continental breakfast was not good. Food was stale - not good at all. I'm glad we only stayed 1 night because the mattresses are not comfortable. We went out to find food and saw there were about 4 strip clubs nearby. We ended up ordering in. We picked this hotel because it's close to the basketball hall of fame but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you're planning on sight-seeing the many strip clubs in the area.

Hotel is right off the highway, very convenient. Outside of building could use a steam cleaning and someone to tidy up the landscaping. Inside is very nice, elegant. Room was comfortable, except mattress is probably on its way out. Very decent breakfast buffet on top floor with a nice view. Pool could probably use a cleaning, as it was a little murky and not really heated. We enjoyed our swim anyway. Staff is very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

My room was dirty... tear in the bedspread... and grossest thing of all.. the sink and shower drains didn't drain. so GROSS!!!
