Newport Marriott - نيوبورت

In all aspects of real estate, it is location, location, location. The Marriott has location covered. It is next door to the visitor's center and within close proximity to dining and shopping. The parking is on site and you can use self park or valet. We had a clean room with a view and the staff was as knowledgeable of the area as the staff at the visitor's center. My daughter recommended this hotel to us because of a stay three years ago, I am happy that we took her recommendation. I would certainly stay there again.

PROS: Great location, nice sized room, large bathroom, reception and lobby staff are personable and professional. CONS: Hotel room doors are paper thin so you can hear everything that goes on in the hallways - not good when there is lots of traffic at 2 and 3 in the morning; bathroom was not very clean when we arrived and many of the amenities were missing. Bottom line - it's unlikely I'll stay at this Marriott again considering there are lots of nice inns close by that offer a more memorable stay with better service and often include breakfast for the same price as a stay at the Marriott.

fun....close to everything.....right on water was nice....helpful staff when planning day...front desk great.very clean ...rates good....Should include breakfast though...at least up to 4!!

Our safe in the room kept beeping in the middle of the night. I finally called the front desk when I couldn't turn it off myself. They came up within 20 minutes but having a sleeping family in the midst of this was rather inconvenient.

not happy- picked this hotel because website stated king bed- arrived at hotel and they only had rooms with 2 doubles available- how romantic!

They treat you top notch from the minute you walk in and perks are endless.

It was great having an opportunity to stay in Newport, a city we love. The Marriott is within walking distance of shopping and restaurants.

Being fans of Downton Abbey, we decided to take a trip to Newport, RI to see the mansions from the gilded age. The Marriott was in an excellent location from the mansions and the shopping. While the room was a little tight, it was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and efficient. Overall a very nice weekend at a hotel that we would recommend.

Fun having the indoor balcony overlooking the lobby and atrium. Was able to watch the sunset. Nice hotel and very conveniently located.

I love this Hotel, clean, easy to get to and in the middle of everything. One tip - DO NOT GO ON ST. PATRICKS'S DAY WEEKEND!!. Drunk 23 yr olds ran the show. Any other weekend (I'm guessing New Years would be as bad) and this place is GREAT!

The service at this hotel was excellant. The bellman was so impressive, he serves as a role model for what all service industry careers should be. A valuable asset! The staff in general was good, hotel fresh and beautiful, rooms very clean, proximity to stores and restaurants was good and the area was safe. The restaurant food (other than buffet) was average for quality. The heat in our room was difficult to regulate. Perhaps clearly visable user friendly instructions would aid with the heat situation. All in all, I would not only return to this hotel, I would highly recommend it!

Hotel restaurant was fantastic and our server the first night 3/8/12 should give classes on how to do a exception job. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay. Very nice hotel, reasonably priced and I like that there is a Starbucks in the lobby!

My husband and I enjoyed this hotel very much. It was clean and convenient to everything we wanted to do. Can't think of anything that was an issue. We will definitely stay there again when we want to do Newport in the warmer weather.

Have stayed here before.... Much better room than last time. Just be sure to request an exterior room as many are interior with the room windows facing the interior hallways and elevators (very odd layout). Hotel is very clean. I wouldn't be surprised to see an update in the near future as he rooms and decor are rather dated.

The Management and staff were great. Our only complaint was the charges for wireless internet and if we wanted to listen to any music (other than the clock radio) it was $16 for 2 hours. Doesn't seem right.

1 of the keys to the door was not working. The audio on the tv was also not working. Fair review at best.

This hotel is ok, the view in the rooms is very weird. We had a huge window in our room and when you opened the curtains it was the inside of the hotel! Thank god my children weren't with us on this trip because the entire hotel would have seen the inside of our room! I just don't get that concept. No food is included with this hotel not even breakfast! And the food there is very expensive and they charge you a room service fee too! For the amount of money you pay a night, in mu opinion, it wasn't worth it. The only thing that is awesome is how close it is to EVERYTHING!

From the moment we arrived the service was superb. It seemed there were more than enough ways to find whatever we needed. The restaurant food was great and the buffet breakfast 1st rate along with a relaxing view of Newport harbor; also close to shops. We didn't want to leave. Clean great bedding and service from the valet to the restaurant to the spa salon. I would categorize it as high solid 4 star hotel with 5 star service. My 15 year old immediately changed her clothing and her demeanor and was quite impressed with this special birthday treat that was clearly a cut above all the rest. Nicely done Marriott Newport!

Everything was great.

Very kind staffs and wonderful location. I'm very satisfied in this trip majorly due to accommodation. However, closing the swimming pool without any previous announcement before the reservation is only a fault.

I wanted to start out by saying, I found the hotel staff to very nice. Other the valet guy w/ the awful attitude when I first arrived, everyone was extremely nice and helpful thru out. The room was exspensive, and the view was less then desirable. Given a romantic get away, our view was overlooking the lobby, which had a catwalk for hotel guest walking right pass our bedroom window. The CD player didnt work when need be, minor item. Great loaction, hotel was clean.. I've travel for years, stayed at plenty of holets in time. The cost of the room should reflect the location, ocean view as advertised. However, we didnot receive any. Yet payed the same price for others who did recieve ocean views. Situation seemed a bit unjustice unless your having a wedding party or large event.

We were unhappy with our room because the window opened onto a walk-way, so we had to keep the curtains closed at all times to ensure privacy.

It was a a short stay but the area in which the hotel is at is great everything was great. We enjoyed our stay there

Stayed here to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and couldn't have been happier with our hotel. The staff was very accommodating and the location could not be beat. Would definitely come back for another special occasion.

For whatever reason, the hotel industry has been allowed to stay back in time in regards to the internet. Any hotel should be embarrassed to charge $13 a day for internet access, yet so many of them do. What's even worse is when you pay it and then the quality of the internet is slower than my cell phone network. USELESS!!

Stayed at the Marriott two days for St. Patrick's Day weekend and the customer service was incredible, the hotel is beautiful and the rooms were very comfortable. I can say that the valet parking is not worth it when you can park easily under the hotel for half the price. When leaving there was a large line to have the valet get peoples cars and I quickly walked down to my car faster than the people got their cars.

This hotel is in a great location for walking around the center of Newport. The hotel's common areas are nicely decorated and spacious. Rooms are small as compared to other hotels in this class. Staff was very nice and accommodating. The only downside is that the night we stayed there was a large group function and several college aged guests occupied the common "Atrium" area until 2:30 in the morning and were VERY noisy. The hotel should have asked them to move to another area.

We liked the hotel very much, but we were very disappointed to find that although we had reserved a room with a king size bed the hotel only had doubles available. These seemed very small. Since this was a mini- honeymoon of sorts which had us talking for weeks of snuggling together with no kids, cats or dogs in the bed, we really had to laugh at the situation which had us sleeping in separate beds! But the staff was great, the location was super so that all worked out.

Reservation was for king bed, when we checked in they told us there were no king rooms, so we had to take 2 doubles, which was uncomfortable because my husband is 6'4" and does not sleep well in anything smaller than a king. Then, the next morning he was in the bathroom & the room upstairs started their shower, which leaked through our bathroom ceiling into our shower. We reported it immediately, but were not offered anything except another room, which was ridiculous because we were checking out at 11am. The only thing they offered us was free parking, yippie...a $7 savings for the 2 hassles. I would not stay there again, and will be sending a letter to Marriott corporate headquarters.
