Barcelo Cologne City Center - كولون

It was great, in Cologne, hotel very central, and room ok, just think that the parking place was very expensive. The hotel staff was nice and help full. Would come there again if I go to Cologne.

Aside from the fact that the park at Rudolph-Platz has became a major congregation point for drunks and junkies, the hotel location is central. But, the externals are a little "dodgy." The hotel itself has changed hands numerous times, but never seems to be upgraded or even tidied up. The rooms are very 1980s, the carpet needs a serious cleaning, and the whole hotel really needs some ambience improvements. Lighting is awful. Ventilation iffy. Street noise variable. It feels like it belings in Leipzig 1970, not Cologne 2012.

it's convenient, nice, i paid a bit much for this since it's carnival but it's expected. It's in rudolphpplatz, some nice restaurants here. 2 stops away from neumart and houmart where all the things are. overall i would give this a thumbs up. btw rooms are huge by european room standards. if u get the twin it's can fit an african village...not that you should..

The hotel location was just about perfect. Even though the hotel is a bit dated, I would stay again due to the location and the price.

This hotel suited our needs perfectly. We had a smoking room (rare these days), tea & coffee making facilities, fantastic view from the room and the location was ideal.

Just stayed at the Barcelo for the second time. First time the room was quite big although not really modern. The second time the room was significantly smaller, clean-ish but with stains on the carpet, a lot of non-working electronics - iron, trouser press etc. Due to the central location the hotel is a quite good offset for especially shopping or a night out in CGN. I doubt that I will stay at this hotel again - there are alternatives that are better, cheaper and more interesting...

I am at a loss at what to say about the hotel. On one hand, it is very conveniently situated with transportation just feet away. The shopping and tourist areas are so close. The lobby is pristine, albeit always empty. The rooms are nice, relatively clean and comfortable (although I found unknown hair in my tub when I arrived). My gripe is simple. They missed a wake-up call. As a business traveler arriving from a time zone 6 hours behind, a wake-up call is imperative (as sleeping through a phone alarm is clearly possible). I almost missed my meeting - the only reason why I was in Cologne. I woke up because I happened to leave the curtain open and the sun shone on my face. But, had that not happened, I would have missed the meeting for sure. The manager gave me the most half-hearted excuse that their wake-up calls are not on a machine, but by a human for a personal touch. My room was simply overlooked. Well, that was not suffice for me. I had gone so far as to personally request the wake-up call at the desk and saw the attendant write my request down. So, you can see how upset I may have been for the oversight when I went out of my way to make sure 2 people knew I had to get up. What if I had missed a plane? The manager's lackadaisical attitude to my anger at the time only angered me more. If a machine is more efficient, get a machine. He muttered a useless "sorry" (almost laughing) with no offer to alleviate the situation. Furious, I walked away. An hour later they delivered free soda. I don't drink soda. I would have rather had a heartfelt apology. My advice is if you are coming to the city for business, I'd skip this place. For pleasure, stay as long as you'd like, just don't expect the best customer service.

Great hotel in Rudolfsplatz just a 10 minute walk to the Dom, the area is well served by trams and U-Bahn. The bathroom in my room was a little dated but the room and the bathroom were very clean.

its a 1970s timewarp hotel. great if you like that kind of thing, but i didnt really enjoy it. Its clean and well maintained but severely out of date. The pillows were really bad also, i didnt sleep very well. was on a business trip for one night (luckily).

This is truly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, food was terrible, I mean inedible. Service was awful, accommodation was old and tired. When I asked for things to be put right the staff did not care and the management were just rude. You have been warned. (If I had been staying in a UK hotel, I just would have refused to pay and called the police to sort it out) However the hotel has contacted me since and offered me 10% discount... big deal - oh and they got my name wrong.

The service was wonderful even though it was the busiest weekend of the year! Our room wasn't ready when we checked in, but they gave us free beer! It was right across the street from the U-Bahn (Subway) and Street Car - and there were a lot of choices for eating, shopping and nightlife within one Straßenbahn stop from the hotel. The room was spacious and clean--the perfect spot to get the party started during Karneval!! The staff was also very friendly and helpful when we asked about good spots for the parade viewing and restaurant recommendations. I couldn't say enough about this hotel!

Hotel service staff spoke fluent English and the lobby was simple but included a large lounge area and bar. I reserved a non-smoking room and did not get one since there were non-available. I had to spray down my room daily to get the smell out. Very convenient part of town for my meetings and lots of restaurants, eateries, coffee shops and bakeries around the hotel. Easy access to public transportation. Very walking friendly City Centre.

This was not a bad hotel, or hotel experience – but it does merit some comments. The hotel did not have the power adapter they assured me they had; I had to walk the whole neighborhood to find an adapter I needed for my CPAP Machine. Now that is an important device for me to have, and the one I brought was defective. I found one about 2k (walk) away at a competing hotel where they were on display. It was the only one I found too; I must have checked a dozen stores and shops. Several in-house brochures praised the restaurant however; I did not feel as though it lived up to the pricy bill of fare. My room was clean, but lacked a mini-bar; and the television was broken. They sort-of fixed it but I read, and practiced my German on the computer. One annoying little article was the comforter – it was too small for the bed and that is just maddening for a guy over six-feet-tall. The concierge was the worst, he would not get me a cab, and he just kept telling me how close a walk it was! Who tries to get a lazy American to walk or ride a bike?

hotel staff the most unhelpful I've ever dealt with. except the chap who looks after the fitness (warning you have to pay 4 euros for the sauna - everything else is free). Was a very good deal (3 for 2) but standard rooms felt very dated. also no tea/coffee making facilities - i expect this as standard in any hotel room esp a so called 4* In a good area for nightlife / university / park. Also very close to a tram and underground stop – this should get you to most places with one maybe two connections.

the hotel was a bit further from the centre than we'd been led to believe, but otherwise we were very happy, remakable value for money. Pool was great, fitness centre a bit small, rest v spacious

The hotel is easy to find in the middle of the shopping district, but if you are looking for the sign...look up....it is on top of the building. The front desk staff is short and not helpful. But the "bell" staff are very helpful (when available.) The staff running the pool and spa are outstanding. Overall, they could be a fantastic hotel if they added one or two more staff at the front desk and instructed them on customer service.

A good all round hotel, very adequate room with large ensuite and dressing area. Located close to all facilities but this made Saturday night very noisy even with the windows closed and the outside metal blinds down! Still good value and I would go back to stay at this hotel.

Beautiful accomodations, plenty of space, excellent location with lots of great shopping nearby. If you can find a good rate, jump on it.

Everything at the hotel was nearly perfect! Beautiful view, perfect area to get to whereever you want to go! Customer care was excellent! A downfall that I ran into was when my husband and I ordered the King Dom View room we asked for non smoking, and we were put in a smoking room. We tried to change it, but they apologized because the King Dom rooms that were throughout the entire hotel were all smoking rooms! When you ask for smoking or nonsmoking, it will not be a guarantee. We read reviews before we went and the comments said the beds were very comfortable.. Well.. they are if you like it verrrry firm! They were very difficult for us to sleep on. It was your average German (hard rock) bed! Other than the bed and the mixup with the rooms everything was great!

１０階に泊まったせいでしょうか　窓からの景観が ケルンの市内をすべて見渡せて　天気が良いこともあって　朝夕すばらしいパノラマを見させていただきました 朝食のクオリティはとても高く　美味しかったです、 つねにホテル前に　タクシーが待っていて とても便利でした。

Lage zum Karneval super, aber man darf definitiv keine 4 Sterne - sprich gehobenen Komfort erwarten, denn diesen findet man hier definitiv nicht. Dafür vielleicht 2-3*** Zimmer waren allerdings sehr sauber und wurden jeden Tag gründlich gereinigt. Personal sehr freundlich.

Das Bad war nicht geputzt, angetrocknete Urinreste auf der WC-Brille. Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer gebucht, extra drauf geachtet (!), und dann ein Zweibettzimmer erhalten. Nachdem es in der ersten Nacht ständig zu Störungen kam, hat die Rezeption am nächsten Tag auch nach zweimaliger Beschwerde keine Abhilfe geschaffen. Bei einem 4-Sterne Superior Hotel erwarten wir mehr als einen schmuddeligen alten 50-cm-Röhrenfernseher. Nachts immer noch recht lautes Rauschen des Verkehrs durch die geschlossene Scheibe. Schöne Lage, aber das hilft nicht viel.

Der var desværre ikke meddelt, at der ville være maraton i byen, lige ud foran hotellet fra kl. 0630 søndag morgen, med larm og høj musik tilfølge + at tilkørslen til hotellet blev meget besværet - der kun 3 ved beliggenhed. Det var lidt hårdt efter et bryllup, hvor man kommer sent i seng.

Boas instalações. Peça para ficar em quarto em andar alto e com vista para a catedral(Dom). Linda vista geral da cidade. Estacionamento é pago em máquina(16,50 euros por noite). Café da manhã caro (20 euros por pessoa). No fim de semana pagamos 12,00 euros por cabeça, devido a promoção que fazem. Até o centro caminha-se cerca de 30 minutos. Tem estação do bonde/metrô próxima.

De prijs viel me deze keer tegen. In vergelijking met andere keren was het een stuk duurder..

Rent, nära till allt, hygligt pris. Frukosten är för dyr

Erg fijn hotel en vriendelijke bediening. Prima nette kamers, ook de rokerskamer was in perfecte staat. Het hotel ligt aan het begin van een winkelstraat (richting Neumarkt) aan de ene kant en aan de andere kant het belgisch gedeelte. Verder metro en tram halte direct bij het hotel. Erg goede locatie dus. Enige minpuntje zijn de mensen die het kleine parkje voor het hotel als ontmoetingsplek gebruiken om bier te drinken.

Da ich Jahre in der Touristikbranche gearbeitet habe und so einige Hotels weltweit kenne, würde ich das Barcelo Köln nicht als 4* Haus einstufen! Unpersönlich, überhaupt kein Charme! Zimmer grosszügig aber VIEL ZU HELLHÖRIG nach aussen!!! Also nur ein 3* Haus!! Allerdings sehr gut gelegen! Metro direkt vor der Tür. In-Viertel mit vielen Boutiquen und Restaurants.

Het Barcelo hotel in Keulen is een prima hotel tegen een hele schappelijke prijs. Je krijgt bij binnenkomst wel een gevoel van vergane glorie. Het is enorm groot en je ziet wel dat het in de jaren '80 ws. heel luxe was (voor die tijd). De kamers zijn comfortabel, ruim genoeg en wel up to date. De fitness viel erg tegen (twee hardloopbanden, een ligfiets, een steps en een gewichtmachine) maar de sauna daarentegen was ruim en top. Je staat vanaf het hotel in 10-15 min. te voet bij de Dom en om het hotel heen is 's avonds genoeg vertier en leuke restaurantjes en andere gelegenheden te vinden. Prijs/kwaliteit top zolang je geen 5*-kwaliteit verwacht.

Das Hotel sollte von seiner Ausstattung dringend überholt werden, diese ist sehr veraltet. Ansonsten kann man sagen, Schranktüren klemmen oder gehen gar nicht auf, ss gibt keine Seife auf den Zimmern, die Heizstrahler im Bad funktionierten nicht. Die Silikonfugen der Badabdichtungen sind verschimmelt! Rund um es war akzeptabel da wir nur in dem Hotel geschlafen haben und nicht längere Zeit verbracht haben.

Ligging top, kamers krap. Bediening traag en inefficient, incheckbalie overbelast, ontbijt gelegenheid veel te klein in verhouding tot de bezetting van de kamers.

Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, da alles super gelaufen ist.Freudlicher Empfang,nette Bedienung,Zimmer sehr sauber.

Sehr Zentral gelegenes Hotel in der Nähe der Altstadt. Top Ausstattung, sehr gut geschultes Personal. Grosse Betten mit gutem Liegekomfort. WIr hatten ein Zimmer mit Blick auf den Dom.

Wat gedateerde inrichting, maar uitstekend personeel (minimaal 4 talen) en service (tot aan laptop instellingen voor internet acces) Internet bij grote drukte wel erg traag. Zwembad is gesloten maar gym en vooral de sauna zijn prima. Lokatie in de stad erg gunstig, zowel uitgaan, shoppen en cultuur direct om de hoek
