So bad they said the have breakfast and no have nothing. I never come back again...!!!

Although the staff was nice enough, it seemed like there were only 2 people who.did everything. The rooms were NOT finished - still "under construction". There were holes in the ceiling and walls, the bathtub drainage did not work, we had to ask them to vacuum the entrance to.the.room, the small fridge did not work, the dust/dirt behind the headboard was atrocious. Breakfast was almost empty of cereals, the coffee tasted horrible but.the donuts from Tim Hortan's were ok. The people have been working/renovating the hotel for 15 years! It should NEVER have been listed!

Terrible stay. Hotel not up to date. Room missing washclothes. Towels very thin. Tub stained. Door would not stay closed tightly allowing wind to come through which caused noise. Had ironing board but no iron. Continental breakfast was terrible! All cold foods and over ripe fruit. Stale cereal. Would not recommend this hotel to others.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. We stopped through on our way to Niagara Falls. It was severly overpriced for the condition and location. The overall neighborhood was okay. There was not much around and it was bit run down as was the hotel. The property was older and the room smelled a bit musty, but everything was clean. The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was ok as well. I would not recommend this hotel due to the price & condition.

Hotel paint is scraped off and stained, floors have spills on them and no staff to clean them up. The elevator smells and doesn't always work- so old it doesn't give the impression of being reliable. The breakfast was awful.Bread, cereal,3 inch plain begal, 2 inch plain muffins, toaster doesn't have levers to push down. In it's day, I'm sure the hotel was great- the structure and pool are lovely- it just needs some maintenance now. The room was fine. The price was fine.

Beware, found some bugs on the matress under the sheets. They gave us another room with no bugs. Also, the pool was half filled and green. Side entry doors were not locked after 6 p.m. like the sign said.

I highly do not recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a hotel in the Erie, Pennsylvania area. The lampshades, chairs, table, one light, and coffee maker/pot were ALL BROKEN!! There was a stain on the carpet that did not look to be attempted to be cleaned, the towels were stained, the toilet leaked, the garbage can had sticky residue underneath the bag. The pool was the only thing somewhat worth the very high amount of money I had to pay. Very disappointed. VERY VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED.

The motel is just a little bit rundown, and sits in a more rundown and slightly noisy part of town. The outdoor pool was a nice size, but freezing cold. Although we requested a microwave and refrigerator, we were told that "hotels.com" didn't update them and so they were unaware of our reservation until we arrived. Of course this meant there were no rooms left with the extra amenities. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and there is a (limited) free continental breakfast (toast, bagels, cereal, coffee and oj).

The only bright spot of this hotel was the woman working the front desk who was very helpful. The Downtown Erie Hotel is not a hotel it is a motel. It is run down and not well maintained. The first room we were sent too looked like someone was still staying in it. So we requested a change of room. The second room had only been partially cleaned with the bed half made and wet towels in the bath area. Finally the kind woman at the front desk got the master key and searched for a room that was clean and unoccupied. The room was OK but the ceiling was cracked and everything was worn. Worst of all there was an unidentifiable brown substance on the inside of the shower curtain. The attached bar/restaurant has obviously not been open for years. The breakfast is limited even for "continental". I will definitely not stay at this "hotel" again.

It's the type of hotel that you rest ur head at night and go explore the city during the day. The shower was dirty, the bathroom was small, they only gave us one soap for our whole trip. It was an alright stay but next time I think I would spend a little more for a better hotel.

We checked into this hotel and went to the thrid floor to see the room. At this time two cleaning people come to the room and said they were to clean the room. They advise us that nobody had stayed in this room for two or three months they also told me that bad people stay on the frist floor. nobody comes to the thrid floor. this hotel was very dirty and not fit for any one to stay here. We did not stay. This has been a very bad experince for us. WE will not use this service again.

. First of all the wash cloths were stained an when I asked for them to be replaced housekeeping-said the manager said they could not be replaced. I had to go buy my own towels and wash cloths. The bathtub was dirty with dirt rings around the tub. The tablecloth on the small dining room had large stains. I was a very unhappy and disappointed guest.

The staffs were great. The first room we had was reek of cigarette smoke and we had to ask for another room. The rooms were non-smoking. My wife has a lounge condition and the second room was okay at the beginning but as the heater heated up the room the room it was reek of cigarette smoke, causing my wife open the door to clear the air. The hotel appears okay from the outside but the inside is nothing like outside. The inside (including the two rooms) needs a lot of fixing up. We had to yank on the bathroom top to get it going and the drain was draining slowly. The showerhead was not attached to the wall, so when you try to adjust the head the pipe is going in and out. They only supply bath towel, no hand or face towel. I thing that this hotel should have a lower star rating.

This hotel was not in a good neighbourhood. There is a bar on site - which is very loud and there is a train that goes by every hour! The doors are all accessed by outside - the cold was coming in under our door. The floors in the stairwells (only access to the rooms) was filthy, probably hadn't been washed in weeks! We didn't bother to have the continental breakfast as it didn't look very fresh. When we went into the main lobby on Sunday morning there was a child (approximately 10 years old) behind the desk - no one else. Luckily we did not spend very much time in our room but would never stay there again.

This hotel is a dump, only had to stay one night, if it had to be any longer would have found a different hotel, no matter what the price.

NOT MANY GOOD REVIEWS BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS GREAT FOR THE PRICE. BREAKFAST IS SMALL BUT ITS OK . IF YOU WANT A BIG BREAKFAST PAY MORE FOR YOUR HOTEL AT A CHAIN.

I was booked into this hotel because all of the other area hotels seemed to be already full. The hotel is very poorly maintained. My room was dirty and contained a half-used open bottle of shampoo in the shower from the previous occupant. The circuit breaker over the sink was broken, and the outlet unusable. I could not get a wireless signal in my room, even though I'd been told that I would be able to do so when I booked the room. I'd prefer to sleep in a rest area in my car than stay at this hotel.

compared to other prices for hotels in the area, i think this hotel was a good value for the price. it was comfortable and clean. the pool was nice. negatives were that there was a bad odor in the corridor and we didn't have hot water for showers one evening. breakfast was very minimal, we chose to eat elsewhere. otherwise, very satisfied.

This is a two star hotel. I'm guessing some of the people writing reviews did not notice this. Our room was very clean and a typical style of those hotels found off of the highway. The pool was cleaned by a robot every day while we were there. The hallways were a little run down. The breakfast was just OK. The hotel computer didn't have javascript so bring your own if this is important. After all the scary reviews, we booked the room for one night. Once we got there, we extended our stay another night. If you want the basics and a friendly family-based staff, this is the place. If you want amenities, go stay at a hotel with three stars or higher.

The room had all the necessities and it is a comfortable bed but it was dirty. We had a smoking room and there was ashes on the end tables! also the bathroom was not the cleanest either. Just a fyi the continental breakfeast ends at 9

Room was spacious and clean, however once you stp out of your room, it is a "different world". the corridors are filthy, the reception area is dated. There are cig buts lying all over. Everything is falling apart. the neighbourhood is scary.

we checked in and went to the room and found it to be so ran down and dirty we just left and went to another hotel. the elevator was dirty and so was the general appearance of the hotel and lobby this hotel should not be rated as a 2 star and should not be offered on hotels.com

it needs alot of work... it adveritised a pool... but the pool had no water in it so we couldnt even go swimming... the showers need upgraded this shower we tried to use was ancient. i just wasnt statisfied and i couldnt understand what the manager or owener was saying to me...

This hotel is in ruins, they should not be allowed to rent rooms. Walls are dirty, floors are gross, pool filled with green algae - deplorable conditions.

I loved the location of the hotel and next time I go to Erie I will stay at the same hotel

I think that it is under new ownership. No Pool, Room was not perfect but for what we came to Erie for and just wanted a motel close by to what we were doing was not a bad thing. If they make the improvements that I think they are doing it will be a great hotel soon

Erie is a suitable town for this very 'erie' hotel. It's very rundown and needing a lick of paint; the bathrooms were old and we had a bar of used soap in the shower. There was also work going on by the pool area so in the daytime it was pretty noisy. My travel group was made up of myself and another girl, and we were both glad we weren't single female travelers. There was a large group of young men loitering around the hotel, and we felt very intimidated by this, particularly because we felt they were watching us a lot. The price was good, however, and the front desk service was very quick and pleasant.

There is no ice, the hotel is in need of some improvements honestly, but the room we stayed at was nice, clean and they gave us fresh towels every day (just took awhile because there was only one maid) there is no water in pool, and the "continental breakfast" is just dry items...the coffee not so good either. I didn't go for swimming and breakfast/coffee though. We went to visit other places close by in Erie.

I remember from the first time I stayed there while my son was attending Gannon University, the hotel was in much better shape and everytime I went back the upkeep of the hotel really fell apart! Won't stay there again!!!!
