Sometimes you get what you pay for, in this case you get far less. Nothing works and nothing is clean; broken door, furniture, hair dryer, ice machine. Desk clerk was a college kid who couldn't care less.

I was woke up multiple times when doors were slammed all across the hotel One of my worst stays at any hotel.

bathroom light turned on the sink light which lit up the room. no bathroom fan so room was hot if you showered and the air conditioner took over 3 hours to cool the room. the comforter was all ripped up bring your own bedding like we did. you get what you pay for.

This is an older hotel but the photos looked reasonable. However upon arrival we found the following in our room: non-working toilet, hairdryer ripped off wall, missing iron but had ironing board, an A/C unit which rattled when run, ripped upholstery, holes in blankets, no soap .... how much more can I say? It was a pit!

Stayed here for the San Marcos outlets. Our first room had stains on the pillow so we got another room. The 2nd room had no hot water in the sink but the shower did. Good location but the hotel looks like a motel. Spend an extra $20 and stay somewhere decent that's a little further away. The clerk was nice tho.

Friendly staff and owners. Very eager to help out. The walls are on the thin side and it could use some updating in decor, but you get a lot of bang for your buck at this place. San Marcos is a friendly, college town.

The hotel is old with undesirable hotels next to it and people hanging out. The room itself was ok but the outside landscape needed up keep. Sort of scary at night returning to our room because we had to go through a dark outside covered area to get to our room on the opposite side of the building. Good I wasn't alone. I've gotten better hotels from you hotel.com.

Not too clean can be better. The air conditioner worked a little but didn't get cold enough. Customer service not too friendly.

After spending two nights at this hotel, I find myself wondering why I didn't just spend the extra money for a nicer hotel. The noisy plumbing and paper thin walls did not allow for a restful night. The cleanliness of the room was ok but the overall feel of the room and hotel in general was old and outdated. Noisy neighbors in the room next door made sleep nearly impossible. Left early on third morning since we couldn't sleep anyway. Lesson learned.

The sheets had stains. Ghe comforter was torn. The light fixture in thd bathroom was on the floor broken i reported this and nobody did anything about it our whole stay. We were there for sxsw so no ohher hotels were open to switch to. It really as a rundown hotel. Myself i would never dtay again.

Hotel was ok for the price....can't beat the location if you are in town for shopping or river touring.

everything was great, except the part where we asked room to be cleaned after 2. and the head housekeeper said I can't ask them to stay that late. Which I dont understand if checkouts are @12 pm. I know it takes more than2 hrs to clean all checkouts.

The hotel was adequate for our needs for the weekend. The maid service was prompt and honest with belongings. Overall the hotel is clean and reasonably priced.

The Rodeway Inn was a good stay for the money. The room could stand to be aired out, the window rattled when I closed the door and the door was hard to open from the outside. These issues are minor though. The staff were friendly and I love that they accept pets. Also, there are 2 fast food restaurants across the street and convenience stores near by.

We were going to be in town to visit Texas state. I travel a lot with work and generally stay at higher end hotels. I was looking for a cheap hotel for the one night. I was surprised that the hotel was clean and rooms looked nice. The pool was clean and looked well maintained as well. Very good value. We had a nice stay.

I would rate the facilities fair but my toilet was stopped up from 8PM we were not able to get a plunger until 9:30 the next morning. Staff said plunger was in laundry room and personnel with access to the laundry room were not available before 9am the next morning.

Worked out fine for one night. No real problems. Hotel is an old one and it shows. Meager breakfast.

Good place for the price.... fairly new and well-kept... good front desk service. ¡Viva Cristo Rey!

Could see light from bottom of door---no seal or barrier. Mattress horrible...either cheapest or 30+ years old. Continental breakfast: 3 week-old muffins, nastiest coffee I've ever had, and 2 choices of cereal(store brand Cheerios and cornflakes). Oh, can't forget, room next door had 7+ people.

good to stay

you never know what you are going to get when you book online brcause pictures are older and usually look better than what you end up with. but a rodeway the room looked good on line AND IT WAS! for the price the room had everything we needed and then some. People were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was decent. we would (and will) definitely stay there again

It has a great location and price, we didn't have problems with cleanliness of room. The continental breakfast was bread/corn flakes and juice/milk, not huge, but enough for me.

There was not even a coffee maker in the room...beds were very small.

This hotel is cheap and feels it. My room was clean but shabby. No dome covering the bathroom light fixture, super loud AC, fraying carpets. But the beds were clean and relatively comfortable which is all I really needed or expected for the price. But cheap shouldn't mean poor customer service, and sadly it did at this hotel. Upon check in the receptionist was on the phone, sounded like a personal call, and did not even make eye contact with me to indicate she noticed I was there. She continued her call for about 5 minutes while I stood around and waited. She then checked me in with an attitude that felt as if I was inconveniencing her day. Same clerk in the morning refused to refill the breakfast station, even though I was there at 8am, an hour and a half before they were supposed to close it down. Only stay here if all you need is a cheap bed for the night. That's about all you'll get.

Our rooms (2) were very clean. The management very helpful. Coffee and rolls in the am. Right on I35. Perfect for a overnight stop. Will stay again. Plenty of places to eat.

It was OK. just for one night. Breakfast should be little more thoughful about people with diabetes not just sweet rolls and cold cereal like for teenagers. There were no fruit to offer too.

Convenient on/off from I-35, not too far south of Austin so nice to be away from busyness of the city for a good night's sleep. Not a frilly hotel, but a very comfortable bed and we felt safe. Excellent service from front desk people both late at night and in the morning.

The front desk guy was really nice, when I called for 2 towels I didn't have to go get them he brought them right up to my room, and even tho the pool was closed for season he opened it for me and my friends, also the next day i was late checking out but they were very nice about and did not charge me, the service was amazingly good! Great staff

Good room for the price.

The hotel has very loud windows. When a door closes, the plexi-glass rattles. The hotel is not of good value in my opinion as I stayed in similar places for much lower cost. It has the basics, but does give free wi-fi. Don't expect anything out of the breakfast. The couch was also so old it sank in the middle. Otherwise, the place is located right off the highway, and enroute to the school if that's why you came to town.

The stay was good except we requested a king size bed and we were issued two double beds.

Located geographically close to Texas State University and local restaurants. This is our second stay at this hotel. Continental breakfast was adequate for our needs. We requested a special-needs room on the first floor -- staff was very friendly to our request for first floor accommodations. Other occupants of the hotel were also friendly and helpful also.

I loved the room and hotel. Great price and perfect location. I would definitely stay here again. Only bad point is the few choices at the continental breakfast.

This place was a stickler on the check in times... We arrived at 1:45 and asked for our room and they said we had to come back at three no exceptions. We were going tubing so we ended up checking in much later than that. We decided to sleep in the next morning and read, in our room, that the breakfast was served until 10:00am. So we got ready for the day and went downstairs at 9:25am. We found the clerk cleaning everything up, when asked why they stopped serving before 9:30 she pointed to the sign on the wall and said breakfast is from 6:30am-9:30am. I am not joking, there was hand made times on a piece of paper taped over the plaque that had the times engraved on there! Basically, change your brochures or tell people at check in. Those two frustrating incidents were by the same day clerk. Besides these two hiccups, the place was better than we expected. It was quiet for a busy Labor Day weekend and the rooms were clean and presentable. The beds left room to be desired but overall it wasn't too bad. Found out that the nice lookin Motel 6 across the street is $15 a night cheaper... Trip Advisor old us this was the cheapest in the area. This was a spur of the moment spontaneous trip so we didn't have time to do our research like we should have. Give this place a try... The issues we had were by the same day clerk. The night clerk was awesome, he was very sweet and accommodating!
