Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel - ويست دوس موينيس

Room was very clean and comfortable; soundproofing was excellent. There were several wedding receptions going on, and we didn't hear anything. Only complaint is that our 2 queen-sized beds weren't queens, they were closer to full-sized. Fine for our 21-month old daughter, not so good for Mommy and Daddy.

Room and hotel was nice and clean with great service. Only issues were slow bath sink drain, poor shower pressure, and our room keys had issues working. But all in all a great value for the amenities.

we were misled when we booked our room. We were led to believe we were getting a Club Level room, but when we checked in were informed that we, in fact, had not reserved a Club Level room. When I reserved the room I verified with the genteman several times that it was Club Level. Very frustrating and disappointing, but the Hotel was very nice and conveniently located.

Reservations told me that I could schedule shuttle service with the hotel. When shed connected me to the hotel to do this the hotel tells me that I can only reserve a shuttle on the day needed, not in advance and that they would not promise availablitity. Secondly, I booked two room and was told that they would be together. When checking in, the hotel said that due to the number of groups staying at the hotel our rooms would not be together. We were checking in at 2:30 in the afternoon. I know that the majority of guests staying at that hotel for that night were not there yet. We should have been granted our request for 2 rooms together.

This is a really nice hotel for the price. They are dog friendly, but we needed to pay an upfront deposit. They checked the room at check out and then refunded the deposit. Everything was great and the bed sheets were particularly fine.

Beautiful hotel, the staff were very nice and helpful!!

This was our 3X staying here. Every time it has been constantly pleasant. The rate per night was a value. Full hot breakfast buffet in restaurant is very good. On the weekends the chef makes your omelet to order with a big comforting smile. Front Desk very professional and helpful. We can't wait for our next trip to West Des Moines to stay at the Sheraton.

not sure if the shower was messed up but it put out a ton of water. it was amazing. while driving back across the country, im contemplating staying there again just for the amazing shower. bed was fine, tv was fine, this was a very nice place to stay

the hotel is very luxurious, but nickel and dime you on just about everything. $9.99 for Wi-Fi in the room, $.80 for a local call, $4 for a bottle of water (but put that in tiny print on the bottle), and no breakfast. Yes, it was nice. Yes, it was clean. But with many hotels in the area, I think I will try somewhere else next time.

Thermostat did not work properly, took all night for room to cool down. Hot water in shower not consistent - from hot to tepid and back to hot.

Good, nice, hospitable, hotel... only recommendation is for changing of floor carpet in hallways( room carpet is good though)

We were looking for a nice hotel that wasn't too expensive. This is the place! The employees were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and the room was very comfortable. There are restaurants and shopping close by. It had everything we wanted! We will definitely stay there again!

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in...I only wish my stay wasn't so short. I appreciated the rate considering the high quality and I slept like a baby! I appreciated having a room with no animals around; I normally try not to even get a hotel that allows animals. I would stay again in a heart beat. Thank you!

A nice facility at a reasonable price.

This place loved to nickel and dime you... From having no free continental breakfast to including 2 bottles of water for you to consume in your room only to find out that they actually charge $4 dollars for each bottle of water... You also have to pay ~$10 a day for WiFi, come on this is 2011! That is ridiculous... I will never visit this hotel again...

The Sheraton in West Des Moines, IA was super clean, luxurious and the bedding was amazing!!! It's close to shopping, restaurants, anything you need. I would go back in a heartbeat!!

The pool is nothing more than a oversized bath tub. 250 rooms but the pool couldnt hold more than 15 people. Other than that the hotel was great.

Check-in wasn't smooth - I was told twice there were no clean rooms and after going shopping at Jordan Creek Mall for several hours I asked if they would call me on my cell phone when one became available. The front desk staff was inefficient at best and I never did get a call. I finally dragged my luggage into the hotel and sat and waited essentially in front of the front desk to escape the heat and humidity. I watched as numerous others arrived and were given rooms and went to the front desk AGAIN and finally got a room - 404. Once I got into my room I put out the Do Not Disturb sign and took a cool shower to wash away the heat and humidity. While I was in the shower I could hear someone trying to get into my room with a key card. When I got out of the shower I discovered my Do Not Disturb sign on the floor so I put it back where it belonged. While drying my hair once again someone trying to gain access to my room with a key card. This person was different than the first person trying to gain access, but the front desk also put them in room 404. I called the front desk and the response was less than apologetic and I was told, "it wont happen again." But, low and behold an hour later they tried to check two ladies into my room. They had key cards and the little key hold with 404 on it. Another call to the front desk and I ask, "Is 404 the only number you people know down there???" I was afraid to even leave my room that evening with all of my belongings locked in. The following morning when I checked out they knew who I was and what room I was checking out of. The front desk was again unapologetic and even though I wouldn't have accepted they certainly could have offered to comp me something (such as breakfast) for all of my inconveniences. This is not a property I will stay at again or recommend.

Very nice place to stay. Room was quiet. Pool however had rowdy early 20's males hanging around making it not very family friendly. Would recommend the hotel, not the pool.

Everything was fine until 48 hours after checked out I get a call from a detective from the West Des Moines Police Dept, NOT THE HOTEL STAFF, accusing me and my son of property damage to the TV and lamp shade!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our room was approved for check-out, the hotel staff gave me my $50 cash deposit back!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yet 48 hours later I am accused of this without one phone call from the management!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disgusting!!!!!!!!!!

No wifi in the room. Fitness was out of service.

I am a road rep who handles 14 states. Needless to say I stay in many hotels. It was pretty clean but for the price I didn't expect a dirty shower, black mold under the soap trays etc. I wouldn't stay there again. Staff was nice, food was decent but over-all room I was not impressed with. On a small note - they only have 2 elevators and I waited about 5+ minutes every time I used it.

May not look the newest or most modern on the outside, but inside is modern and appealing. Rooms are nice, clean, and modern to match the lobby. Didn't have the opportunity to use the amenities(pool, exercise, etc..). Staff was extremely freindly. Location is close to everything in West DM. Lots of chain and local restaurants close by. One downer I was on 6th floor and hot water took a long time to get there for my evening shower.

I was looking for a hotel for a quick overnight stay so that I could get back on the road early the next morning. This hotel was clean (most important), comfortable (next important), quiet (equally important), and close to the interstate. This hotel was very clean, quiet and quick. Good place to stay. Also, no bedbugs... Increasingly important in these times.

We stayed at the Sheraton 2 nights for a family wedding. I was disappointed to find there was no gym- it was being renovated and there we was no other free exercise facility offered. The hotel was full and the wait for an elevator was very long nearly every time we used it. The pool was small and crowded to the point that I felt it was unsafe for my young kids. On the other hand, the wedding reception was very nicely done by the hotel and the desk staff were helpful and friendly. And despite being a full house, the hotel was very quiet, unlike so many hotels where you hear slamming doors and kids running feet in the halls all night.

There were only two elevators in the place; clearly it was not sufficent when hotel is booked. There was also only one staircase on the opposite of the elevtors. Had there been emergency we all would have been in trouble. The equipment in the workout room was dated and old.

I have stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions and will always stay there when I travel to West Des Moines. Very clean, smells great, nice little fitness room and good breakfast.

It's clean, it's comfortable...great place to stay!

Room was clean. Water pressure was ok. Nice flat screen tv. Looked as nice inside as outside. Lots of parking. Easy to find and close to highways and places to eat. Very comfortable bed....lots of soft pillows.

Room was extremely hot. When called down, the reply was "oh sorry". Others in our group were the same--just got "oh sorry". Woke up at 3:45am in a sweat. Did not even dry my hair after showering-that hot. Another guest checking out in front of me, had wet hair also FOR THE SAME REASON. They told that couple the same-"oh sorry". Saturday night, the male bartender was extremely rude. Kept ignoring me as he filled up the frig. Female bartender came from behind me to help. Asked for a chocolate martini-they looked at me like I had 3 heads-said they couldn't do it. Male bartender tossed me a martini menu. First drink on the list Chocolate Raspberry Martini. I told a friend next to me, female bartender grabbed it from me and said let me see the ingredients and just started making it--had not had a chance to even look at the other drinks--seemed really put out. Anyway paid the $10 for the drink 8 or so plus tip and drank the nasty drink. Don't even get me started on the elevators or the swimming pool. Elevators absolutely ridiculous. Hotel did not seem prepared for all the different tournament people they had staying there.
