Clifton Hotel - بريستول

Suprised by hotel only being a two stars. Yes, it is a bit old, but service , cafe and staff are excellent. More than happy with this hotel.

Nice and cheap place

The room was very small, and the corridor leading to it was stuffy and didn't smell nice. The room was also stuffy, despite me opening the window, and the bed was small and uncomfortable. The shower hardly worked at all, there was so little water coming out of it, and it wouldn't stay to temperature, but kept going cold! The breakfast was limited in what was on offer and expensive for what it was - it was not included in the rate I was paying - and I was surprised to be charged extra for asking for more than two pieces of toast. Parking was problematic, although I did manage to park on the street in the end. The staff were mostly fine and helpful, although the reception staff appeared to be inexperienced, and the staff at breakfast appeared to be overworked and struggled to cope.

At first glance I thought the hotel was a dated place but inside is well laid out, clean and comfortable. Great for solo travellers as the price is good and the rooms have all you need. Breakfast was good and the bar had a good atmosphere.

The single room i received on arrival the curtains were falling down, when i complained they changed my room, the second room i received was satisfactory just about

You shoud note that the surcharge is £6 and it doesn't make it clear whether that is per day or per night and one of the receptionists will not be particularly polite when informing you of this or addressing you about any matter. Disappointing we were given a room with two singles when I was sure we had booked a double. The hotel is fine for the location. Bristol is not cheap. There have been quite a few little touches to try to modernise but not all of it is quite finished off. Rooms have new light fittings but only one where the surrounding plaster work and paint has been made good. Nice touch with the fruit and the ground fresh coffee. Mixed feelings really given the lofty, arrogance of specific but not all staff.

the hotel is within a short walk from Browns and Jamies Italian. It is a very good location for getting into the town on foot. We booked the hotel car-park but when we arrived there was a free space just outside so did not need the car-park. The hotel is a lovely building and friendly staff. Our room was one of only two that have a bath. It was a lovely large room with fruit, tea & coffee provided. The only down-side of this hotel is the age & condition. Reception has been done up lovely but our room was in need of a little re-decoration. Overall this did not spoil the night we stayed here and I would recommend it highly.

My stay with the clifton hotel exceeded my expectations as staff were friendly and accommodating and the little touches were great )fresh fruit/nice biscuits and a cafetierre in the room). I will certainly go back

Ok the roms is small but for the price this hotel was just what i wanted. Clean comfortable and friendly. Service was good and efficient and the location very handy for Bristol City centre.

the room I was is so tiny witout bath but the worst was the lady at the reception who is so unhelpful and rude at the same time. She kept me at the reception for hours and asked me to go away as I beg her to check me in the room have booked paid for. I have stayed many hotel around the world and never have I come across with some who so rude as this receptionist..its shame beacuase I very much like the hotel and the location I would properly call agian as I plan to visit to Bristol once again. the knight staff is helfull,

Superb staff! Good price/value ratio!

clean and comfortable, very friendly welcome and staff. Menu and other facilities were good, lift garatefully received. Only drawback is the severe problem of parking in the area with a lengthy journey with luggage to get into the place.

Clean. Very friendly staff. Food very satisfactory with lots of choice. Car parking very good.

Great location, nice staff. On street parking hit and miss, but what isn't in Bristol Room was in the attic Bed mad a loud "Crack" whenenver you sat on it and bowed in the middle A little mildew in the bathroom I knows this sounds poor, but overall the hotel was basic but OK Price was good for the Clifton area I would prefer another hotel, but would revisit if neccessary

Well priced for a short stay (wedding) in my case, wouldn't recommend it for more then a 2-3 nights however as beds are uncomfortable. Staff were however friendly and the hotel is located centrally and within walking distance of Bristol Zoo etc...

I was only expecting fairly basic accomodation in this hotel as we got it so cheap but i was pleasantly surprised. It is not incredibly fancy and the rooms are quite small but it was cosy and the service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly. The only flaws would be that the room was very warm and also breakfast the next morning wasnt fantastic. Overall i would recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere cheap with a good location to spend the night. If you are planning on spending a lot of time in the hotel room then i would probably recommend that you go elsewhere.

We were given two single room, that although very small very perfectly clean and comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, booking taxis and giving directions. (Although I would say that we had trouble finding the hotel and when we were quite near I phoned for directions and the receptionist I spoke to at that time had no idea!) Breakfast very good. We made use of the off street parking in a lock up garage-which was one of our reasons for booking this hotel. At the end of the day it was a pleasant stay and we would probably use this hotel again.

My Fianceé and I lived in Bristol for a couple of years and we were looking forward to a little break away, back in the City. We chose The Clifton hotel for it's proximity to Clifton Village, Suspension Bridge and the City centre. We arrived at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised with the reception area. It is modern, light and airy and we were hoping that this would extend to our room......We were sadly disappointed. Our double room was small, dark and very warm. It was warm outside and only the top section of the window opened which didn't provide much relief in the evening. The warmth was increased by the fact that the towel rail in the bathroom was on permanently. The room was tidy, but it wasn't very clean. Quite frankly, it was grubby. There was a layer of dust on the bed headboard, and thick dust where the carpet met the skirting boards. I tried not to walk around the room in bare feet! The hotel rooms need thoroughly modernising to come up to the standard of the reception area and "Cafe Clifton". We could have stayed in a Premier Inn for half the price of The Clifton and it would have been cleaned to a much higher standard. Needless to say, I wouldn't stay in The Clifton again in it's current state.

The staff,location,and value were amazing! I would recommend this hotel without any reservations.

The staff were friendly and competent. The rooms clean and comfortable though very dated. The lobby looked fine as a 'period' room. The carpets and the paint on the walls in the corridors and guest rooms need refreshing; makes the place look tired..

The single rooms are very small and the totel is in some need of updating/redecorating. However staff were fine, and hotel is in a quiet location.

Cheap and perfect located near to Clifton village and central Bristol but very worn down and in poor condition

The welcome and ambiance was very good. Public areas were fine and relaxing. Outside bar was buzzing on a summer's evening and great fun. big letdown was the room, said double bed on the booking form, got single, cramped, pokey, scruffy and very hot. Needed a good clean or makeover, would not have wanted to spend two nights there.

Enkelt standard , men greit , rent, veldig hyggelig personall. Det viktigste er at den er sentralt og lett å komme til , flybuss og buss til togstasjonen i nærheten

Det er en billig hotell ,enkelt, men det var veldig greit fordi det var så sentralt . Jeg kommer til å bruke dette hotellet når jeg er i Bristol .

Très bien situé, manque de confort ,chambres petites mal équipées ,chaleur étouffante; par contre bonne ambiance et bon petit déjeuner , beaucoup trop cher pour ses prestations 2 étoiles max

Its a pretty set place with a bar just outside.The bar has good food,good prices and a friendly staff. U should awoid this hotel if u are more than 6.2 feet.Their beds are super small as are their rooms.Its good enough for maybe a short weekend but not for any longer.The staff is friendly and relaxed.Bristol center is not to far away and its about 1 mile to the Zoo.

Nette Lage, für ein 2 Stern Hotel optimal. nettes café/bar im Erdgeschoss mit Aussenterrasse.

Redelijk hotel, kort verblijf dus weinig te zeggen over service. Kamers wat krap en oud maar wel OK voor de prijs. Ligging is wel mooi.

Hotellet har alle de faciliteter som kræves til et behageligt og afslappende ophold. Beliggenheden er god, kort afstand til seværdigheder, parker og shopping. Hotellets cafe er god med et bredt udvalg af retter, morgenmaden er perfekt.

It's a cheap hotel, near of university area with many bars and pub in its sondroundings area. It was a good time here.

Chambres individuelles très petites Environs parfois bruyants Hôtel parfois bruyant Très propre Chaleureux

les employés sont très serviables. L'hotel (confort, propreté...) est pas mal et très bien situé (Clifton), pas trop loin du centre ville à pied et à côté du musée. Le seul et unique "hic" du séjour est que notre chambre se situait au 1er étage, juste au-dessus de la terrasse du bar-restaurant, il ne faut pas vouloir dormir de bonne heure, surtout le vendredi et samedi soir (les fenêtres anglaises n'apportent vraiment aucune isolation acoustique).
