This is my very favourite Hotel in Ottawa. It may be the Only Boutique Hotel in a city quite desperate for hotels. Guests are welcomed with a bubbly and chocolates. The restaurant on site is just perfect! It is small and intimate with excellent morsels, quality perhaps, not quantity!

A bit tired. Best feature is the lounge & food.

Clean, comfy, great food, and walking distance to many venues. Real milk for ones coffee!! Its the little things that count.

Enjoyed the stay at the Arc The Hotel. Room was great, just situated close to the next room and our neighbors were very noisy at 2 am! Called the desk and got immediate results! Thanks. Scale in the bathroom was a nice touch but did not work! A shower cap and 2 face clothes would be a nice touch too, in the bathroom. Did not see any info re your restaurant in the info book,in the room and when we asked the desk where we could eat , no mention of your restaurant. Found out on checkout it exsisted. No advertisement for it in the lobby that was very visable either. Good experience otherwise. Hope the hotel picks up on this stuff!

Our stay was wonderful. The location was perfect, only a few minutes by foot to the Parliament buildings and the market area. The hotel was very clean and the staff members were friendly and able to answer any questions we had regarding the area. Not only do I recommend the hotel, but I would stay again.

The second I walked into the hotel I felt relaxed. The lady at the front desk right away, offered me and my boyfriend a glass of sparkling wine. The room was small but very clean and modern. The tv was up to date and the make-up mirror in the bathroom came in handy. I absolutely loved the shower head in the bathroom. It felt like i was standing in the rain. It was close to many restaurants and stores. Parking was a bit inconvenient. The hotel offers valet but it is expensive(or at least I found). There is parking around the corner but you also have to pay quite a bit for it. Other than that I had an amazing time.

We spent three nights at the Arc Hotel this past week - there are a number of nice highlights about the hotel including the turndown service, the champagne on arrival, the hotel location. Unfortunately our room was tiny, it faced out into an office building that was under construction (Room 804), there is an orange light in the main room light switch that stays on all night (apparently it is there for guests who feel disoriented in the night?) that we could not turn off and had to tape paper around it to make the room dark (we called the front desk and they told us we couldn't turn it off). We could hear the room next to ours' conversations clear as day! It was fine for our three days, but we won't stay there again because of those factors.

I liked my stay at the Arc and I think I had good value for money booking through "hotels.com". Not I would have felt the same had I paid full price. I enjoyed everything about my stay and thought the staff was especially nice, although one of the car attendants could have been a bit more forthcoming in helping me when I was carrying many bags and it was raining. But all in all a very enjoyable stay. Had breakfast a couple of times and room service once (i.e. late night dinner) and all I had was excellent. Will go back - hanks!

We found the hotel staff to be friendly & helpful. The rooms were a bit small but adequate. Extremely clean!!! It would have been nice to have a small sofa to sit on rather than the bed or one chair for longer stays. No parking with the hotel, valet parking only not sure how close our car was had we have needed it quickly. We ordered room service it was very fast however way to fancy, We ordered a clubhouse as we have some allergies we assumed a clubhouse would be a safe choice, its presentation was beautiful but it wan't a traditional club, it was openfaced and I think it may have had a garlic spread on it which was out for both my husband and I, very over priced, small amount. Other menu choices sounded delightful but again very rich diet choices not good for a sensitive tummy, Otherwise we would recommend the hotel and go back again.

This is a boutique hotel and excellent value for a downtown location with high quality of service. Staff and atmosphere manage to be very relaxed and friendly at the same time as going out of their way to respect the needs of the guests. Some lovely little touches in service and environment helped to make our stay here an absolute delight. I cannot thank and praise the staff highly enough.

The Arc Hotel has it all..great food....clean comfortable rooms excellent location...although on a small scale

I recently stayed at Arc - The Hotel while visiting Ottawa. Although the rooms are on the small side, they are clean, cozy and a lot has been done to make them comfortable. The toiletries were lovely and the turn down service with apples and chocolates was a nice and unexpected touch. Our television was broken and couldn't access pay movies so the front desk manager came up to the room to try and fix it and then spent some time on the phone with the third party supplier to get the problem remedied. When it couldn't be fixed until the next day, we were offered a free movie for the next night. Very classy! Overall, a clean, quiet and comfortable hotel with a nicely equipped gym. Close to the Parliament Buildings, the Byward Market and anything else you'd like to explore on Ottawa. If I ever visit our nation's capital again, I would not hesitate to stay at Arc - The Hotel.

ARC The Hotel is exactly what it claims to be - a boutique hotel. If you are in Ottawa for a leisurely visit, it would be a great place to stay. If you want to do business and get something done, well, I would suggest elsewhere. Rooms are small with poor workplace room, chair and lighting. The lighting in the bathroom is also inadequate if you want to see your face when shaving. And for some reason, someone thinks that ultra-slow elevators are charming - not when you want to get somewhere.

The location was great - close to the Parliament buildings, Byward and Rideau Centre. Very clean and "chic" hotel... only issue was that the way our room was set up, we could hear our neighbours on both sides while they went about their daily business in their bathrooms... the walls were a little thin....well A LOT thin. And the overnight front desk staff was NOT helpful.. didn't want to do their job.

Found this hotel 2 weeks before travelling to Ottawa. The location is super convenient, its even on the airport bus route. The hotel itself is very modern chic, and the service is great. The room I stayed in was spacious comfortable, carried on nice with the modern look and the bed was amazing. Only gripe I was told I would get a room with an awesome view, but was placed on the 2nd floor with a view of a brick wall. Other than that superb. Showers have all the amenities and they even hook you up with shampoo and conditioner. Would stay there again and or recommend the hotel.

We were greeted by a lovely lady who poured us each a glass of champagne upon finishing our registration. Very civilized. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is conveniently located. Hotel is small and charming. I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to my friends.. .

I appreciated the quality of service and advice I receive in regard of questions I had. The location of the hotel is withing a walking distance of most of the tourist attractions in Ottawa. However, the 8-story building is dwarfed by others around, and two rooms I have experienced did not have too good of the view.

The hotel was clean and well furnished, the staff was excellent, I wish we could have stayed longer! I am beyond pleased with our stay!

The parking sucked (2 spots in front of the hotel to accommodate new guests) and cost us another $29.00 on top of our room plus tips for valet parking. The restaurant was closed the evening we were there to accommodate a Jazz festival so we had to find something nearby. We would have taken the Jazz night in except it didn't start until 10:30 p.m. - usually the time we retire for the evening. We usually stay at the Westin when we visit Ottawa and found their rooms to be more luxurious although also more expensive, however parking was not as costly. The staff at the ARC hotel were very friendly and accommodating.

We loved the hotel. Great location. Great price. Great room, different layout, making it more interesting than a normal hotel room. We'll definitely stay there again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Arc the Hotel in Ottawa in May 2011. We had a junior suite. It was clean and very comfortable. The location was terrific. Close to great eateries and shopping as well as sites. I didn't give this hotel a 5 star rating because their room service menu for breakfast and dinner was way too expensive. I felt like we were being gouged. It was not at all value for money. But we had many great food options close to the hotel. I would highly recommend Arc and stay there again in the future.

From the moment we arrived each and every staff member provided professional and hospitable service. The room exceeded my expectations. Every aspect of our experience resulted in a very comfortable stay. The only thing missing was a tropical beach.

Great location near restaurants on Elgin Street. Front desk very friendly and helpful. Room very clean, but was on the smaller side with window facing a brick wall. Great turndown service with apple/chocolate/bottled water. Excellent treadmill in the fitness room. Flat panel LCD TV had cable feed via analog co-axial input, therefore TV screen quality poor. Should have had digital cable box.

Best thing about this hotel is the staff...very helpful adn accomodating! I would book this hotel for a future stay in Ottawa.

The stay at Arc was pleasant -- the room was clean, and some features were high-end (soaps and hair products, for example), but it essentially was an older downtown hotel with a nice overhaul of the paint and bathroom fixtures. The lobby and bar were beautiful, but the room itself was small and lacked the feel of being well thought-out. The furniture was nice, but just sort of placed against square parts of the walls, making the room even smaller when space was already at a premium. The hotel was dazzlingly clean and the staff helpful, but theres only so much you can do with some furniture and paint when the space you have leaves something to be desired. I would be happy to stay again should i need a room in the downtown core, but would not rave should anyone ask for a recomendation in the area.

Hotel is OK, but more focussed on trendiness than quality. Room was microscopic and housekeeping was so so. The carpets had obviously not been vacuumed recently and the room had not been dusted in at least a week. I think there are better options for the rather high price.

First of all I'd like to say that the staff went out of their way to assist me with anything I needed... Even went out to my car to get something for me I forgot. Bartender recommended several places to go out during the evening. Food was good, check in was great. The only down side was... sadly... was the room itself. I asked for a room that was on the highest floor they had available. I was given floor 8 and the view was atrocious. Nothing to look at but the construction that was going on in the building high rise that was 30 feet from my window. The interior of the room was an attempt at a modern look that had the feel of being somewhat dated and dirty. Overall, I wouldn't tell people not to go here... It was a good hotel.... but I think next time I go to Ottawa, I'll try out a new scene.

The staff were very friendly, helpful, and courteous. The room was very comfortable. The food was fine and the room service impeccable, However, one minor point, when I ate in the breakfast room on the second morning, my pot of tea came up cold, and I was informed it was not possible to get the water from the boiler hotter. I find that hard to believe. I was not seriously inconvenienced, I drank coffee (which I'm not crazy about), but I felt it was worth mentioning because it was the one thingwrong with a perfect stay.

Great hotel, very nice rooms- little small but did 'nt bother me as I was by myselk for work. Did not try the restaurant as it is one of the high end restaurant $$$$, but really nice decor & breakfast was good. Front office staff members were nice, could be little more friendly, specially the girls. a little smile from them will make a big difference in the score. Hskeeping staff were very attentive and great service. Rooms were clean & turn down service was very good. They definately should get better pillows. Overall a very good experience and I definately recomend this hotel if you would like to try something different then the regular brands. I really enjoyed the glass of chilled wine at the check in counter. After a long day & a long flight...it was awesome.

This visit was our second time to the ARC, and we stayed for 3 nights. There is a simple elegance to the clean design of the space and the furnishings. The bed was very comfortable Despite the freezing temperatures (-20 to -30 C.) we walked each day to our son's student abode on Daly street...well past the Byward Market. We did not think to eat at the restaurant, but will do so next time. The reviews are excellent. We will return.

Nice hotel. Bed was very comfortable, and the Internet very fast. The complimentary apple, chocolate, and bottled water was a nice touch every evening.

The room was very very small and we neither had toothpaste nor a shower cap in the room and the food wasnt great. Apart from that the staff were super nice.

The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Loved the decor. The bedside radio with separated stereo speakers was nice. The bed was very comfortable. Wireless internet cost extra so we used my phone instead. The only issue we had was that we didn't receive our wake up call. This could have been a big deal for someone else, but we are able to reschedule our early appointment without difficulty. On checkout we were compensated for the mistake by waiving minibar charges - a nice touch. I will definitely stay here again!

The hotel is very clean and very modern. The rooms are extrmely small.....so dont bring any big pieces of luggage!!! wake up calls for 7am should not wake you up at 5:45. the door men were amazing and very helpful with directions and restaurnat choices. i wouldnt stay here again only becasue of the room size. when travelling on business larger rooms are preferable.

The staff were very friendly. We brought our dog along, which was no problem. Right downtown, very easy walking distance to many sights (Rideau canal, Parliament, Byward market). Parking is extra, as expected for any hotel in a downtown location.

you should choose this hotel if you don't have kid with you. It's not a family welcomed hotel, but a very good and comfortable one....small, tidy, clean, and 'good smell'. marble countertop and marble floor in the washroom. The shampoo and body cream have 'relaxing' smell, kind of mix with ginger, lavender and honey....... thick and good quilty. Comfortable bed and there are 6 pillows on my queen-size bed. But somehow the air-conditioning is a little bit too loud and the TV remote is not work very well. I need to go to the TV and adjust the vol. by myself, not by the remote control. I will suggest this hotel to anyone without kids around.
