The New York Palace - نيويورك

أقمت في New York Palace لمدة 5 ليالٍ. بسبب الضوضاء من فتحة التهوية في الدور العاشر تم نقلنا بلا إزعاج إلى غرفة في الناحية الاخرى من المبنى تطل على المنظر الجميل لكاتدرائية St. Patrick. في العادة تكون هناك تكلفة زيادة لمثل هذه الغرف ولكن تم التنازل عن ذلك. الموقع كان ممتازاً، قريب من Rockefeller، Times Square و 5th Avenue. كان لدينا الكثير من المساحات في غرفتنا بالرغم من أننا كنا 3 نقيم فيها، وكانت الأسرّة مريحة إلى أقصى درجة. طاقم العمل كان ودوداً، متعاوناً وكفءً جداً. سأقيم هناك مرة اخرى بكل تأكيد.

هذا الفندق مبهر جداً وطاقم العمل متعاون جداً. حجزت غرفة بسرير كبير لنفسي وتمت ترقيتي لغرفة في الدور ال34 تطل على الكاتدرائية. الغرفة نظيفة جداً وتشغرك بالنقاء في كل مكان بها. السرير فاخر جداً. والموقع هو الأفضل لعملي في نيويورك وهو على بعد خطوات فقط. يوجد الكثير من المطاعم الممتازة حوله وهو مناسب جداً للتسوق في 5th Avenue. الغرفة كانت كبيرة بمقاييس نيويورك وضخمة بالمقاييس العالمية. بعد كل هذا، الغرفة يمكن تحسينها لجعلها ممتازة. مثلاً إضافة تلفزيون HD و تقليل تكلفة الإنترنت. و برنس حمام أكبر سيكون إضافة جيدة. طاقم العمل بالفندق كان لطيفاً جداً ومتعاوناً، لا شيء كان يسبب مشكلة. الغرفة كانت نظيفة بامتياز والأسرّة يتم توضيبها كل ليلة. المنظر مذهل بالنهار والليل. هل سأقيم هناك مرة اخرى؟ نعم بكل تأكيد.

المزقع ممتاز قريب من 5th Avenue، البار مذهل. النقطة السلبية الوحيدة كانت أن محاولة أخذ حقائبنا عند تسجيل الخروج أخذ نصف ساعة ولذلك فأترك الكثير من الوقت قبل ذهابك للمطار.

موقع ممتاز يمكن السير منه إلى الأشياء التي أردنا رؤيتها. الغرفة تستحق درجة الامتياز. بكل تأكيد سأقيم هناك مرة اخرى، وسأنصح أصدقائي به.

اعجبني كل شيء في إقامتي بالفندق. إنه فاخر جداً، الغرفة كانت مريحة جداً والوسائد ممتازة والملاءات لطيفة ودرجة الحرارة مريحة والمكان هادئ جداً إلخ. إنه ممتاز.

Large rooms, superb location, staff needs lesson in guest service

very good. My only complaint was the Internet service. It was too expensive at $17 and oh so slow! My bandwidth is desparately needed.

The day I checked in the clerk was very slow and incompetent. The room is the 11th floor was very noisy. Management was very nice and switched our room the second day. There are never taxis available in front of the hotel because they park themselves across the street and only want to take passengers that are going to the airport. THIS IS VERY ANNOYING. Also, sometimes we would come back to the hotel and there was no one on the 51st. street entrance to open doors or welcome us back. Bathtub was chipped.

...but definitely fell below my expectations. Rate was a steal at around 450$, but apparently it was discounted due to remodeling of the hotel, which is a material fact that was not disclosed at booking. There were literally construction workers dangling outside the window. My room was on a low floor with gorgeous views, but clearly hasn't been renovated in decades. The floor had a stale odor. The service was satisfactory. Overall not the experience I thought I was paying for.

but keep in mind its still under construction/renovacation for the next few months

Lobby is under construction, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, wait until it is done. Chaos in the lobby and cramped. The service is still great and location perfect for midtown sightseeing and shopping and of course business. My room could have use an update.

Excellent location. Beautiful hotel. Although the hotel is undergoing exterior renovation, that in no way affected the quality of the rooms....huge and lovely. Exceptional size for New York. Only issue was no coffee in the room and coffee in the restaurant was $8.00 per cup! Really? But then I'm not a New Yorker so maybe that's normal.

I booked April 27th. The hotel got a reservation for July 27. ThAnkfully they honored my confirmation.

This hotel is one of the greats of New York despite the renovations taking place in the reception area.

Hotel was perfectly situated and our room was in great condition even though construction was going on. Most importantly the price was affordable. Would definately stay again as we do visit NY four plus times per year.

Always excellent service. Little chaotic due to construction in lobby, but the rooms are quiet and comfortable. Personnel are all extremely helpful, and since this was our third stay in about 3 months, we've gotten to know the bellmen, doormen and garage attendants. Courtesy fruit basket was extended to us as we were speaking to the assistant catering manager. Very nice gesture. Always a very pleasant experience, and the location could not be more convenient to Fifth Ave. shopping! Will always go back.

I was not informed that the hotel was undergoing renovatios. The entry on 50th Street is closed off. The room while having a nice view, was poorly lighted and felt worn. I was surprised that the rate seemed reasonable for a "New York" hotel and now I know why. We left our room at 8:30AM, and when we returned at 4PM, the room had not been made up. Ugh!

There is so much more construction work going on than the hotel led us to believe. I phoned hotel to check on level of refurbishment as i was worried about noise levels as husband is a light sleeper. I didn't need to worry about that however the glorious front to the hotel is all hidden by scaffolding that we were aware of by web site picture. What we were not told though is that there is no hotel foyer just a very narrow stair case down to one small reception desk ,no where to sit to soak up the atmosphere so you feel ushered up to your room as there is no where to go apart from the bar. If like us this is a once in a lifetime trip do not book this hotel until refurb is over!

The lobby and outside patio are undergoing a large scale renovation. The once beautiful lobby is unrecognizable. Sad to have discovered that after we arrived. Would have been good to know prior to making reservation there. Won't go back until it is complete.

My daughter and I loved the New York Palace! The location was incredible...close proximity to Rockefeller Plaza, Saks 5th Avenue, Times Square, Central Park, NY Public Library, and Fifth Avenue Shopping. We walked to nearly every destination and felt very safe...even at night. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Our king superior room was very large by any standards. It was immaculately clean...bathroom too. The bathrooms were unbelievably large too. Above everything, the service was the very best I have ever received in any hotel. EVERYONE we came in contact with was positive and polite and always willing to help in any way. This hotel's customer service is the epitome of customer service. The first night of our stay was on the side opposite of Madison Ave. Construction noise from the adjoining property was loud on the 18th floor & people in room beside of us was worse. We asked to be moved to the Madison Ave side of the hotel the following day. When we returned from our show, our bags had been moved to another room on the 18th floor, overlooking St. Patrick's Cathedral. We never heard another noise. Since the hotel is in the midst of renovating rooms, I was concerned our room would be mediocre. Pretty sure our room had not been renovated, but I was not disappointed. It is one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in a long time. I highly recommend the New York Palace. The location and the comfort/cleanliness/spaciousness of the room cannot be beat and the service is impeccable.

I wish someone would have told me that this hotel is going thru MAYOR renovation. That beautiful lobby you see on pictures is reduced to cartons everywhere. Rooms are small ugly smelly and outdated. Room service was ok but the service at the reception desk was awful and rude. I guess they're overwhelmed with the number of upset guess that where waiting in line for a while in such an ugly environment. I'm sure that after the renovation it will be a beautiful hotel and hopefully the service will catch up, but for now I paid Ritz Carlton prices for a Holliday Inn experience. Recommendation: wait until the renovation is done.

Good value for the great mid town location. Hotel is tired. Needs the renovation it is currently getting

The hotel was very nice but there should be a coffee pot in the room or at the very least affordable coffee in the restaurant.. The room was a very nice size. I had no issues with construction noise as others did. Staff was very friendly

The NY Palace is under construction. While we missed the experience of entering through the main lobby and checked in via a facade covered in scaffolding into a temporary basement reception area, the service as usual was smooth and all the staff were high quality professionals. We enjoyed our room with all the amenities and especially loved the view of St. Patrick Cathedral and 50th St over to the Hudson. Looking forward to our next NYPalace visit

Staff was friendly and helpful. Wonderful Experience. Will definitely stay there again!

I chose this hotel for its fabulouis midtown location and architecualal beauty and excellant rating.Unfortunately the exterior was shrouded in scaffolding and I was unable to appreciate its beauty. I was informed there was construction but not to this degree. The hotel felt very closed in and dark. My room was clean, however friends of ours staying in the hotel in a different section had lots of dust and an uninvited critter in their room and was offered an upgrade and a credit. I do not believe this is a common occurance but due to the construction. Also the cathedral view is also a view of the cathedral under maintenace with scaffolding. Hardly worth the extra money. i am sure guest will enjoy the upgrades soon but for now choose another hotel.

The hotel was under construction, I was awakened by the drilling noises. Unfortunately, we could not appreciate the beautiful entrance to this hotel during our stay.

The hotel is under construction now for renewal of decorations. One day they forgot to make up our room, when informed of so they gave us a 200 dollar refund

Hotel is undergoing renovations which was not indicated when I was booking it...I would not have stayed there if I knew. Although the location is central, it was not as comfortable- physically too crowded and awkward and overall impression was not satisfying...For the rates that they have, expected rooms to be more updated. Would wait to see until the end of renovations to stay there again.

Major construction on exterior and interor. Got a good deal and was expecting small inconveinience. Got my room, got into elevator and elevator did not stop on my floor. Went back down and tried several elevators that all had same issue. Ended up stoping one floor up and walked down the stairs. Called the front desk and they fixed the issue. There was jack hammering on Sunday morning when we got back from breakfast at about 11am. It sounded like it was inside the building. Overall the place is fine if you get it for cheap as you can't beat the location and the staff were excellent. If you want things perfect I would wait till they are done.

When the renovations are finished this will be a five star hotel

Two major issues, and three minor at the time of my stay in late March. The worst (and I am pleased to report it was resolved to my benefit) was the loud banging that I could hear up on the 27th floor, east side: I spoke to a manager who immediately granted my request to be moved to the west side, overlooking St. Patricks, and I no longer heard the banging. Second major issue is renovations on the Villard House such that the otherwise gorgeous courtyard that opens to Madison Ave (seen in all the photo galleries) is completely covered in scaffolding and therefore dark and uninviting. The three minor issues were (1) the whole ground floor including reception desk is under renovation and therefore very crowded, (2) there is major road work causing closures on 50th St on the south side of the hotel, and (3) St. Patricks Cathedral is completely covered in scaffolding inside and out, which is a sore sight, considering this hotel charges extra for a cathedral view. Do contact the hotel to check if these contruction issues are resolved yet if they concern you. Their customer service is top notch and I am positive they will hear your concerns and acommodate where they can (and no, they did not sponsor me to say that!). I would love to return as all of these issues will resolve in time.

Hotel was undergoing renovations. Nothing that was interruptive during our stay. Staff very helpful during check in and out. Great location!!! Very accommodating when we needed to leave our bags to watch St. Patricks day parade. Would definitely stay here again.

This trip to NYC was wonderful, but did not expect the Palace to be undergoing wholesale renovations. The check-in was quick, but due to the updating of the facility, we felt somewhat constricted this time. Parking is too expensive, as was the cost of drinks in the hotel's beautiful lounge. Rooms were clean as usual, and the housekeeping responded quickly to a clogged toilet. Will stay there again, because of the room rate and its location.

It was an excellent stay with one major sour note (not the renovation - this we're used to). The hotel, we were told, accepts dogs, and so we brought out small, blind, sweet as pie, pug. But when we checked in we were told that she had to be caged whenever we left her alone in the room. We NEVER cage this dog. Because she's blind and docile this has never been an issue ever before in the many hotels we've taken her to, but they insisted and since we could not find any other hotel with no time to look, and since we had a major affair to attend, we had no choice but to let the concierge get us a dog sitter - at $40.00 per hour! A rip-off. We ended up "blowing" over $200 for some nice lady to sit with our dog and watch TV while we went out for the evening. I must say the room was exceptional, the entire place, construction aside, was exquisite, and the door men and lobby staff are super friendly, but getting stiffed on the dog issue was painful, and I do feel we got stiffed. If I can get this rate again I would stay there again, but without the pet. BTW the 4 on condition relates to the renovation work.

It is a lovely place, very convenient.

Hotel is in a good location but it is very outdated and is undergoing major construction, which was not obvious when I had booked it. Due to the limited space in the lobby, there were long waits for check in and to get our checked luggage. There was no complimentary coffee/tea or water in the rooms and the wireless internet in the rooms only worked while standing next to the doorway to the hall.

Hotel is under construction and the lobby was like Grand Central Station - difficult to get a taxi and bellman service was poor. I would not stay there until they are done renovation.
