Bauer Hotel - البندقية

This hotel was AMAZING!!!! Great location and beautiful 5 star hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a hotel in Venice. It was pricey, but it is worth every dollar!

Once again I attended the New Year's Day Concert in Venice.As In My Review of last year one is immediately meet with warmth-the warmth of the hotel and the staff.I love the Bauer it's close to the beautiful La fenice opera house.If the Bauer was unavailable I'd not go to Venice.I hope to attend again next year.

The location of this hotel can not be beat! We arranged a shared private taxi from airport and it literally pulls up at the front door of the hotel (which is difficult to do in Venice). It is a very central location and the area is just lovely. The breakfast buffet and view from restaurant is so lovely. The room was old-style euro but very comfortable and quiet. Staff were quite helpful, but a little stuffy, depending on who was on the front desk - high turnover, never same person. The decor in foyer was ab fab with a very stylish art deco theme and funky. It is really a wonderful place to stay in Venice and we found it great value.

Would like to say to anyone travelling to Venice that the Bauer was a superb hotel and location. I had originally requested the upgrade to panoramic view, and they further upgraded me to the Palazzo section of their hotel. Wow, what a beautiful room they provided me and my wife. The hotel is convenient to get to on the canal and is only a 3 minute walk to St. Marks Square. Negatives: eating at the Bauer is very expensive and the drinks more so, better options outside hotel, as there are hundreds of bars/restaraunts in the walking vicinity. Also if you are staying a few days, buy the Vaporetto (water bus) pass for the time you are there. One stop is half a block from the hotel. Outside the hotel in the evening the street vendors are pushing knock off purses. Keep negotiating and you can usually get them down to 15-20 Euros. I would stay at the Bauer again in a heartbeat and want to personally thank the hotel management for the upgrade they provided to me.

Great hotel, super location, outstanding service. Only recommednation would be better bed pillows.

The Bauer is a first class hotel in an ideal location. It's only steps away from the Piazza di San Marco and the heart of Venice's best shopping and dining. The hotel's restaraunt is over priced, but that is my only criticism.

The Bauer is an excellent hotel.If I couldn't stay there I'd not go to Venice.My interest is in the beautiful opera house nearby.I usually go to Venice in the Winter when it's less crowded.It's warm and snug and the staff are very helpful.

The staff is friendly and professional in this hotel on the Grand Canal a short walk from St. Marks's Square. The room was functional, not unattractive, with a clean, nice-sized bathroom. I had a view of rooftops with the angel on St. Mark's Campanile visible in the distance. The breakfat Room overlooks the Grand Canal where a buffet breakfast is overseen by a pleasant staff. It's a well managed hotel.

I've stayed at this hotel before. Very centrally located. Accomodations are great, but be sure to get a room with a view. This time we looked onto an open area to other rooms and it was quite dark. Hotel and staff are first rate

Very elegant older hotel. "Superior" rooms have a terrible view and are very small. I have stayed before in a deluxe room--much better and has a view of the grand canal. The breakfast patio on the grand canal makes up for any deficiencies. Staff is very helpful. Because of its location, water taxis can come right up to a delivery dock. For those who have never traveled to Venice, this is a great convenience since you don't have to drag luggage through the narrow walkways and over the bridges to your hotel from the train, cruise terminal, or airport.

My wife & I picked this hotel for our 10th wedding anniversary. We'd both been to Venice before and knew that the location (near St Marc's square) was perfect for our romantic long weekend. Having breakfast, drinks & dinner in the hotel restuarant overlooking the entrance to Grand Canal everyday was a bit special. It's surreal seeing the laundry arrive by boat and watch to the tourist's floating off in a gondola on their excursions! Having stayed in a few I can confirm that the hotel is truly 5 star and the staff are very attentive. The location is perfect with all the major sites only a few minutes’ walk away. It was well worth the money. Hopefull to return soon - we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Venice now that we been to the Bauer.

This hotel comes in three sections. The old Palladio building is amazing. The newer part next is not as charming on the outside, but I'm sure the rooms are lovely inside. Hotels.com's rate had me staying in Casa Nova, their 'annex' just across a small alley in another building. It was just fine, quiet, and very clean. Save money, stay there, and go splurge for dinner at Rest Da Ivo a short walk. The only complaint I have is that the pigeons fly all around the beautiful Grande Canal patio during breakfast (maybe lunch too, but I didn't try that). It is so bad that when my friend got up from the table, a pigeon flew onto his chair eyeing his plate. Others nearby were not so lucky as the pigeons jumped on their table. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Breakfast buffet was not included in the Hotels,com rate. It is 50 Euros PER PERSON, and not worth the money in my opinion...especially with birds on your table. Go across the bridge and just on the right is a coffee shop with delicious pastries for near nothing.

I really enjoyed staying the hotel as the staff were very nice and friendly. The only downside is that there was no iron or tea making facilities in the room

Lovely hotel, great location, excellent views of from terrace, helpful, courteous staff...would definitely consider The Bauer if we were to visit Venice again

we booked a superior room. it was possibly the worst hotel room I ever stayed in. there was no natural light as it looked onto a tiny inner area. Not impressed

cet hôtel est bien en dessous de sa réputation! nous avions une chambre dite "supérieure"(affichée à un prix exhorbitant/nuit!) qui donnait sur un puis de "lumière" si étroit qu'il n'était même pas question d'espérer voir le ciel 4 étages plus haut!! Scandaleux...Préfèrez une "pensione" avec charme....et vue!

Vraiment decu du petit-dejeuner...pas assez de choix pour un 5 etoiles. Et les oeufs brouilles sont en poudre. Le servide du petit-dejeuner aussi etait mauvais. Tres bien situe. Le service du bar est exeptionel...Je conseille d'arriver a l'hotel en Water Taxi c'est superbe. La prochaine fois j'essayerais un autre hotel...

Je souhaitais faire découvrir Venise à mon épouse pour nos 25 ans de mariage et ne regrette en rien que mon choix se soit porté sur cet hotel. Service, accueil,propreté,disponibilité caractèrise l' ambiance de cet hotel; mon seul regret est que je pensais avoir une chambre avec vue sur le grand canal ayant réservé une luxe panoramique et que nous avons eu une chambre avec vue sur la place Moise.. hotel à conseiller .

Superbe hotel , très bien situé . Service hors du commun et déco surprenant , très luxueux j'usque dans le moindre détail . Vraiment un hôtel de rêve . Mérite bien ces 5 étoiles et sa place dans les leader hotels of the world .

Il soggiorno è stato all'insegna di un servizio e una qualità ottimi. Unica nota dolente: al check-in un'impiegata alle prime armi lenta, insicura e con poco savoir-fair.

Topp opphold!

Wir haben 4 Nächte im Hotel Bauer verbracht - und würde es jederzeit wieder buchen falls ich wieder mal nach Venedig komme. Besonders nett fand ich auch, daß an meinem Geburtstag eine Flasche Champagner samt Glückwunschkarte am Zimmer stand als wir vom Stadtbesuch zurück kamen.

Tout est beau et bon à l'hôtel Bauer : chambre spacieuse et meublée avec beaucoup de raffinement, petit déjeuner gargantuesque à prendre sur la terrasse donnant sur le grand canal, restaurant de Pisis excellent et service assuré avec le sourire.

Hotel exceptionnel; très bonne situation; très bon petit déjeuner; on y a passé un merveilleux séjour

In the middle of the centre of Venice, less than a minute from San Marco square, near all the shops (if you can afford: Prada, Gucci, Valentino). Best place to stay regarding location, near channels, at a beatiful square, gondolo to be seen from Hotel windows. Exelent service, rooms are comfortable and offer all services, not cheap, however for a few nights I recommend. Do not expect room with a view, Hotel is situated between all historical buildings, good restaurant, might be best in town, but expensive, again, to stay over for a weekend, very, very good place to stay !
