This hotel staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy. They even gave us a free full breakfast when the continental breakfast on our level ran out. This always has been a great hotel, and for a fraction of what you pay at the beach, it is a great value with ferry access to Portsmouth and a short walk from Harbor Park. We will return.

it wasn't bad didn't like having to pay for internet. took their time cleaning the room. but overall good stay

I arrived at exactly 3pm for check-in and my room was not ready as I paid for a queen room they told me it would be a 20 minute wait. So to waste time I walked over to the mall which was in walking distance upon getting back my room was ready and I actually asked could I get a king and they did accommodate that request so a very nice stay

I stayed in two different sized rooms, the first room was terrible. Unclean bath tub, closet doors off track,cracked glass picture frame that good have been dangerous and not to mention the not so fresh smell of the room. The second room was fine, it was a king size room, I had to upgrade for a clean room in the same establishment.

Beautiful location; nice clean rooms, comfortable beds. We found the clerk more than a little irritating with his unsolicited advice about my choice of booking agencies. The hotel doesn't have it's own parking garage attached. That was the only downside.

Nice hotel and downtown. Valet parking or use the parking deck. Parking not so convenient and both cost extra if that matters in your choice. Bed linen seemed very cheap for a nice hotel.

The walls in this hotel are too thin. I could hear people talking on both sides of my room

for the price the hotel is not in very good shape. most of the vending machines didn't work, the interior of the motel in the room sections was very dated and was in need of repair, cleaning or replacement.

I did not like that I had to pay for over-night parking AND pay for internet access in my room. The cheaper public lot was about two blocks away. Wi-fi is free in the lobby. Charge for one or the other, but not both. That is a bit much. I will not be going back to this hotel for that reason. Also, after a certain time, your room key will not get you in from the board walk/back patio area. You have to walk all the way around. Or, call the hotel front desk and ask them to send someone to let you in, like I did.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was nice

Good convenient location on the waterfront; clean and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again,

I would recommend this Hotel for anyone looking to stay at a classy place. The rooms are beautiful. one of the best hotels I have stayed in in years. Very close to many great resaurants and great shopping. Throughout the year with all the fesivals at Town Point Park you are just a 3 minute walk away from all the excitement.

The hotels was very nice, rooms very nice and all was as expected. However, the restaurant is rather pricey for what is serves (if it isn't rented out for a private party).

Hotel was located downtown, so it was easy to walk to the mall and take a tour of the city. Breakfast buffet was disappointing.

I live in Norfolk and I stayed at the hotel for two nights as I had a rodent problem in my home. I arrived with my 50lb Foxhound and was welcomed by the receptionist who checked me in. We had a lovely room on the 2nd floor which was very convenient for bringing the dog out for a break. I was very happy with the quality and comfort of the room and delighted that there was a hotel of this standard that welcomes pets.

Hotel has best location in city if you are downtown with an easy in/easy out parking arrangement.

Hotel was great. Location was perfect. Centrally located near all scenic attractions. The off-site parking was much to be desired. You have to park in the adjacent buildiing then walk to the hotel.

Best hotel in Norfolk/ VA Beach area!

only thing i didnt like was the parking you had to walk to far from the hotel and after i pay for my room the parking should be on them

Location is good, but service and room facilities i would say better than motel less than a Inn.

you need to be there to experiance the stay there i wish to come back.

The front office people were rude, and not accommodating

Read all reviews before making your reservation decision. I can confirm that all reviews prior to our stay on 8/13/2010 are accurate, especially about the top of entrance door (Room# 642) having a one inch opening gap. But once I noticed and alerted the front desk, they moved us to the next room over. Noise is a big problem at this Hotel with slamming doors and noisy, inconsiderate, and disrespectful neighbors partying into the night. Our first night, there was someone keeping kids in their room while the parents were out on the town. The kids romped and played until 2:00 am and when the parents came to pick them up, they laughed and talked loudly in the hallway as if it were the middle of the day. It finally quited down around 3:00 am. The rest of our stay was very nice and enjoyable so it just depends on the type neighbors you have at any Hotel. Location is perfect and the parking garage is right next door. Beautiful view of the harbor and easy access to Waterside and surrounding attractions. I must agree with other reviews about rooms not having microwaves, refrigerators, and the expense for internet service. Aside from all this, we would stay at the Sheraton again, but with earplugs during the night.

nice rooms, good central location, and rooms were nice only issue was had to pay additional fee for parking and for internet

Lots of talk and activity in the hallways outside of the room. We were supposed to get a view of the river but got a view of downtown instead. Mediocre service at the desk. Greatest negative was having to park over a block away in a dimly lit parking garage and walk a return path to the hotel with very little light along the way. No one offered to send someone to escort us back under such unsafe conditions.

We booked a king room with a harbour view and were allocated a double room which was woeful. We had a glimpse of harbour and the room was dark and gloomy. Our view was mostly of a rooftop complete with a pair of boxers, a beer bottle, broken glass and cigarette buts. Plus the window was filthy - maybe not a dad thing given the view. We went to request a room change and were lucky that a yonger bloke who didn't want to share a king bed with his brother said he would swop. We then had a lovely room. bright and sunny overlooking the harbour. Whether the staff would have moved us without his offer we don't know. Good hotel and very clean and comfy - but make sure you ask for a room on one of the higher floors!

The Sheraton Hotel in Norfolk Waterside, VA was great place to stay. We went to the jazz festival at Waterside Festival Park which was a very short walk from the hotel. The food in the resturant was great.

This was a very disappointing stay at a Sheraton: - Valet parking ($22/day) versus having to walk a long way to self parking ($12/day) - Food in the hotel restaurant was exceptionally bad - Hotel is not well kept (worn furniture even in the lobby, overall cleanliness and smell) - Walls don't allow for seeing your neighbors, but you can hear pretty much everything going on next door or in the hallway - Staff was not interested in making this a more pleasant experience Not a recommended place!
