staff was great. the shower was COLD. they fixed it.

Overall this is a great resort. Will stay there again.

not much sleep as air conditioning was out and worked upon in the middle of the night for our room.

The staff was amazing and when we asked for one of the updated room they gladly upgraded us. The updated rooms however didn't have any other updates besides the new flat screen TVs. The room was clean but the sinks had rust in them. I would not call this a 5 star hotel ever and I think they're a little over priced. It was nice but I won't go again with that price tag.

Don't stay here if you want to sleep. The room lacked the basic working necessity for a room in Phoenix! An appropriately working air conditioner! We booked per the recommendations. The hotel rooms are OLD & the air conditioning units are LOUD & outdated. I can't believe they can claim to be a 4 star hotel. Very disappointing. We stayed to get a good nights sleep - we were up all night! When running, the unit was so loud and the room temperature would be freezing. We would turn it off & roast (100 degrees). Because we were awake all night, we realized how OLD & LUMPY the beds and pillows were too! Yuck! Never again. Too many other options in Phoenix.

We booked this resort cuz of the waterslides for the kids. The brochure said they were open until 6 p.m. but when we went out at 445 it was closed. After I brought this up to an attendant, they were quick about getting lifeguards back out to open the slides, which the kids enjoyed. The room was nice, and the bed cozy, but it got warm and when we tried to get the a/c lowered, it wouldnt kick on. I adjusted the temp back up to where it was set when we came into the room at a warmer setting and it came on. As far as comfort, it was a restless night. I have a sports car with low ground effects and the parking spots were up on a ledge, spaces close together, and it was very difficult to get up into the space or out of the space without hitting bottom both front and back. VERY bad for the lower cars. It was ok for a one time visit, but I dont think I would go back.

The lobby and original part of the resort is very lovely. Most of the people who work at the resort were incredibly friendly. The room we stayed in was a nice size for four of us, but it smelled bad when we arrived, and the bathroom was not completely clean. We chose the Wigwam, because our kids were excited about the water slide. We learned when we got there that the water slide is only open on Fri, Sat, Sun; so if you're staying mid-week, don't plan on any water slide fun. We weren't there for golf or tennis, so in our minds the "resort fee" should have covered the slide, but no such luck. The resort is somewhat noisy in the evening, but festive, so we didn't mind; however, when we celebrated my birthday with family in our room on our last night (they sang happy birthday), security came to admonish us about noise - very strange. The main swimming pool was very pretty; but loud 50's era music plays continuously. A variation on music style would be nice as well as a place where one could choose to not hear the music.

The stay at the Wigwam was above my expectations. From the first moment we pulled into the resort and were greeted by the staff in the parking lot it was a great experience. The greeter in the parking lot asked me to just leave the car at the front and run in to check into our room and he watched the car and when we came out he asked us to follow him in his golf cart to the parking area for our room and then proceeded to load all our luggage into the golf cart and drove us to our room. He then asked us to check out our room and make sure everything was okay while he brought all our luggage up for us. I tipped him obviously but it was a great way to start the stay after a long trip and just wanting to relax. The service from that day forward was excellent. always greeted by people and asked if we needed anything constantly. The room we were in was a great size and clean in the Oasis Terrace overlooking the pool which was quite nice. The room was a little dated but clean. Me and my wife had a great time and i would definitely recommend this resort. There is also a great little cafe down the street called park cafe which we didn't discover until a few days left on our trip and it was excellent. Great coffee and breakfast and great service.

The resort was a beautiful! The rooms were comfortable and housekeeping was very thorough every day. Staff was friendly and responsive. The fragrant blooming jasmine was AMAZING. Our only complaint was the location of our room. We were directly behind the bar at the main pool. Our view was the back of the bar and a main path for staff. I do think only our room had this issue. I would stay again and just ask for a different unit.

I know, not saying much, but it really is a beautiful resort with a lot of family friendly amenities. I'm not much one for golf, so I really can't speak for the quality of the courses, but the food was great, the prices were great, and hanging out pool side for Mother's Day was a great plus.

The grounds far exceeded my expecations. The lobby was beautiful, the pool and surrounding gardens, trees, restaurants, etc., were all perfectly manicured. Just a simply beautiful place with stellar service. Well, well worth the affordable rates.

Enjoyed everything about the beautiful property. Lovely large room, very comfortable beds, great personnel in every arena. wish we could have stayed longer.

Nice resort, but even though we prepaid, they charged $20 per day per room as a "resort services fee" . This was not disclosed nor were any services requested or used. The cost of the stay was misrepresented. In addition, the resort had music playing all night through speakers outside of the room, making it very difficult to sleep. Not a great experience.

The Wigwam resort was ideal for my son and I travelling to the Nascar event in Phoenix on March 3 . Was on the right part of town and in a relaxed neighbourhood. Would recommend to others wanting a weekends golf or visiting Phoenix.

We reserved a room so we didn't have to stay at a typical motel for a night, I only wish we would have stayed another night because it was such a comfortable room, very clean and very nice gardens. The staff we there to serve you in any way. We were very tired and ordered room service for dinner - best room service dinner I have ever had! Book the room you won't be sorry at this resort.

The resort was wonderful. The room was beautiful and clean. The staff at the restaurant was extraordinary and went out of the way to provide excellent customer service. Cannot wait to return!

We stayed one night at this hotel before a hockey game. The grounds were beautiful and a lot of the hotel has been renovated. Unfortunately our room had not. Although it was a very large, it looked tired and sterile and the carpet needed replacement. When we checked out we learned that ours was indeed one of the last buildings to be built so the last to be renovated. The pools and games areas on the property were lovely and it would be a great place for a family vacation in a better room.

Overall, The Wigwam was a very lovely place to stay before our flight out the next day. We had a couple of problems. The AC vent was leaking water, though we believe it was from the direction of the wind along with the massive weather system that had entered the area. We had chosen to upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi bathtub. No warning that the hot water was on a tank system tie to the other two units along side. So when the last of us tried to get a hot bath after waiting an hour and half after the previous person, there was still no hot water. The resort kindly returned us the upgrade cost. Also if your neighbors tend to be loud at 2:40AM you will heard every word of their discussion thorough the connecting doors. The wall might be solid adobe but the doors are just plain wood.

enjoyed the settings, rooms were comfortable, liked that each room had own patio, the resort was easy to get around, the people very helpful, very good price overall

Best Hotel I have ever stayed in. It is more $$$$ but well worth your money. Staff was awesome.

Really liked the historic/authentic interior decor. Staff is friendly, very accommodating and clearly enjoy working here. The property is beautiful and the food surprisingly good. On the down side, I was unaware I would have to pay an extra $20 resort fee for each day of my stay -this was not stated when I made my reservation via hotels.com. Also resort could do a better job of communicating when a dining room is closed for a private function.

The hotel sits on beautifully maintained grounds so it's very hard to understand the boring, dull, tired and non maintained condition of thier "upscale" rooms. I had an overnight stay in a king sized bed bungalow situated on a golf fairway. The room was old, musty and full of mold and peeled mildewed pain in the bathroom. For the price I paid, the room I received and the nonchalant customer service I got, I don't think I'll be wasting my money there any time in the future!

Our stay was terrific! Everything was considered in terms of taking care of guests. What a great experience.

I think the hotel is way over priced for off-season and what it offers. Went to Scottsdale following 2 days, better resort, 1/3 the price.

We stayed in a bungalow on the fairway of the golf course. We specifically wanted a room with a kitchenette and fireplace. The kitchen was totally unstocked. Not even a plate or a fork!! There was no microwave. Just counters and empty cupboards (plenty of them!), a sink, and a refrigerator. How strange is that?? When we complained about it, we were told that it was their normal presentation of the room. It was NOT an oversight!

This resort is stunning! As previous AZ residents we never had the pleasure of staying here, but after we moved out of state and returned to visit friends it seemed like a neat place to stay. 'Neat' is a gross understatement!! The staff was super friendly and helpful, without being phony. We ate breakfast at Red's the day of check out. Do not miss eating at Red's when you stay here! The room (a suite) was apartment sized and very quiet. Mattress and pillows we very comfy. Our suite had a wet bar with a fridge, the place was very clean and there were no strange hotel mystery smells. There are three golf courses on the property, all maintained impeccably! This resort is well worth the dollars. Don't forget to walk around the main building and read up on the history of it, really super cool. The main lobby makes you want to sit down and enjoy it. A great stay over all, we’ll stay there again even after we move back!

Beautiful historic Arizona Hotel. Grounds were lovely. Our room was a part of the original Adobe units. Rooms were extra large with nice bar and kitchenette area. However, there was no mini-fridge. Although charming, a little dated and some wear.Low lighting and $20 resort fee daily added to our bill. Not optional. Hotel room door had lots of air gaps and you could see outside through them. Bed was super comfy.

Hotel accommodations were fine. However, I have two complaints. (1) On Friday morning, Nov. 2nd, I was awakened, at 8:00am, by rumbling and banging noises outside my window. When I looked out, employees were unloading a large boxbed truck. They were putting the large items, appeared to be stuff for a party; speakers, tables, etc. onto a pallet jack, which was making the rumbling noise when driving on the parking lot and sidewalk. This went on for more than one hour. Then upon returning on Friday evening, I found the street into the resort was blocked by a large art show. The guests were detoured through a residential area. This was late at night and there were not enough detour signs to direct you were you were going. This detour wound around through the neighborhood for a mile or more. I was already tired and wanted to get to my room. This was uncalled for. They could have kept the tents, etc, on the grass, they didn't need to block the streets.

Really enjoyed the history, grounds and feel of the hotel. Although it does seem to need a slight facelift here and there, for the most part it was lovely and the staff were friendly and energetic. We had inended to be closer to downtown Phoenix but were glad we got to experience this gem.

I stayed here in the late '70s and loved the quiet and beauty. The open areas within the grounds have been converted to more accommodations and the fields have filled with housing. It's different in the growth but maybe better in the care of the grounds because everywhere there was green and blooms. The staff were all friendly and quick to please. The reason I didn't rate the surrounding neighborhood higher was that homes were showing some wear but nothing to worry about! A great place to have a getaway or undistracted business planning meeting.

This was a fun place to stay and had a lot of amenities. It was obviously built years ago, but has been renovated throughout the years and was very comfortable. We stayed on the fairway. The ONLY drawback was the lack of a refrigerator and microwave oven in our room. The service was great, two huge pools (one built with kids in mind, one that was populated by adults), a choice of places to eat and drink (no hotel room service) and a great atmosphere.

The room was not what I thought I would be. It was old looking with the carpet coming up around the edges of the room. The decor was old and looked outdated. Room services was beyound expensive for the quality of food. I orderd this room as at a "flash" rate offer thinking I was going to get a great bargin for the price I paid..... well I think I the hotel knows that and gives you one of their worst rooms. I would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. Wigwam looks and feels like low income apartments. Very unhappy.

That's what a resort should be like, great landscape, nice pools, very friendly personnel......

It is hard to imagine how many people have stayed there throughout it's long and fabled history. If the walls could only talk, what a tale they'd tell.
