Ramada Plaza Albany - ألباني

Renovations didn't reach the first floor which was where we were located. The rooms were ok. Old style TV, nice size fridge and microwave. Shuttle bus to area attractions was not as accessible as they advertise in the hotel description. We ended up using our own car.

We were allowed early check-in, thats when the trip went down hill. After we were interrupted not once, but twice by the cleaning service as we tried to nap. They just walked right into the room. Noisy appliances and heaters, broken outlets, and ANTS! Very unclean in general. Would NEVER use this property again.

It was comfortable. Nice breakfast in the morning.

On the plus side: The staff was very friendly and informative.On the negative side: When I checked into my room it looked very nice. When I opened up the bathroom door I noticed a pair of underpants and a pair of socks behind the bathroom door. Not wanting to alarm my husband I picked them up and tossed them in the trash. I then wiped down the WHOLE bathroom as I can only assume that the room was not cleaned! The other point I'd like to make is about the toilet seat. It was WAY TOO LOW. I felt like I was falling in every time I sat down. I will certainly cross this hotel off on the list of hotels I'd like to return to.

Room had no hot water, blood stains on bedding. When I told the front desk when I checked out the next day they said that I would receive a call from the manager...never did.

Very pleased with accommodations and service. Hearty hot breakfast comes with room. Easy to access off I-90.

Great Hotel, comfy room. I will be back to the area and this will definitely be my hotel choice.

The Ramada Plaza was an okay hotel. The room was old and a bit worn. The tub in the bathroom had been re-done using "tub-surround" and it was a pretty bad job. The bonus was a hot breakfast buffet at no charge and great service from the front desk.

We were in town for a concert, and I can tell you that the convience of having the shuttle take and pick us up was awesome. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breaksfast was very good. I had read the reviews online about this hotel so I knew what to expect, but still it was a tough pill to swallow. The hotel was very run down and needs lots of updates. Our room had a very musty , moldy smell. The tv was only a 19 inch tube tv not a flat screen. The bathroom was bad, with mold aroung the water nozzle and the pipes were all rusty, toilet seat and bowl needed to be replaced. The carpet needed to be shampooed through the whole building. In the reviews it said that they were in the process of updating the hotel, and I was hoping to get and updated room, but guess I did not. I didnt pay much for the room and I guess I got what I paid for. Would not stay there again.

I read the reviews on this hotel before I booked, so I knew what I was probably going to get. The price was great, the staff was wonderful, the breaksfast was very good. We were in town for a concert at the Times Union Center and the convience of having the shuttle bring and pick us up was awesome. BUT the hotel is in dire need of lots of renovation.. The reviews said that they were in the process of redoing the rooms, and we apparently did not get oneof those. The room had a nasty mold or mildew smell. We did not get the comfortable new beds everyone is talking about, and we had an older style tv with no dvd player. The carpet was nasty looking and the bathroom was a disaster!! Mold around the water spout, the hot water handle was broke and the tub hardly drainer at all, pipes were all rusty. Lucky for us we didnt need to spend lots of time in our room. I would like to say that the staff were wonderful and its not their fault that the hotel is run down. I am just not sure with inspections how they pass.Overall it worked for what we needed.,but we got what we paid for.

It was ok the only thing we did not like was the carpet was very dirty

Aside from the very friendly front desk staff and comfortable new beds, this place doesn't have a lot to recommend it. Common areas (bar, restaurant, function rooms) desperately need an overhaul. Breakfast buffet was adequate; food at the function we attended was hit or miss. Catering staff was friendly, but not particularly adept servers. Housekeeping in the rooms was good, but the common areas aren't well kept: trash bags dotted the restroom, service corridor doors left open, unused furniture stacked everywhere. Fortunately, there were a number of good dining options within a short drive.

I got a good price on this hotel. Upon checkin, I found the staff to be very friendly and appreciative of my visit. The hotel was clean but has signs of age. The beds were comfortable. I did not get good reception on my TV and the bathroom was kind of scary. The toliet seat needs to be replaced. It showed signs of age. There was no water pressure when taking a shower. It would be a good hotel to stay for one night. I would not stay for an extended period.

i enjoy the morning chow

The hotel was a little hard to find and traffic in that area is terrible! The hotel itself though was clean and the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I had trouble getting into my room as the lock kept malfunctioning (as did several other guests' from what I heard), but the evening maintainance guy was great and did an excellent job of getting me into my room each time the lock wouldn't work. Room was mostly clean, but not entirely. Could've been swept a little better. The hotel is surrounded by businesses, restaurants, grocery stores, etc..... so if you need anything, it's most likely something you can go walk to get. I was promised a shuttle service to the location where I was training by the Ramada rep I spoke with on the phone, but once I got to the hotel, they stated that the shuttle would only take me to the airport. Very disappointing. Overall, not a bad hotel and I got a good rate....but, knowing what I know now, I probably would've paid extra to stay elsewhere.

This certainly was not a 3 star hotel. It looked like it was over 100 yrs. old. There was an ancient carpet in my room and it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. I just didn't feel comfortable there and would not stay there again. The staff was very friendly, I do have to say that.

Not worth waisting time on this hotel

The hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They provide a complimentary hot breakfast buffet that was really nice, (Plenty to eat) There was a conference going on and the lobby was a bit congested but ordinarily I don't think there would be any problems. Also if you are a light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend getting a room ending in 11 (ex: 111, 211, 511 or 611 etc) because the elevators back up to them. Wasn't a real problem for us because we were up late and tired anyway but if you are sensitive to noises, get a room further away from elevators. We were only there overnight but it served our needs very well and as I said before they treated us very well. I would stay here again.

Room and service were great, we enjoyed the breakfast and were very surpirsed with dinner. Hotel is convenient/close to the highway but a very car-dependent location.

I stayed at this hotel when taking the February Bar Exam. I chose this hotel due to the location and price after doing some research. I would definitely recommend the hotel for people who are up in Albany to sit for the Bar. The hotel is very basic as far as appearance, but the staff was extremely accommodating in helping get us to and from the Bar location. They ran a free shuttle service on the mornings of the exam and picked us up after testing. Also, when I first arrived in Albany, they sent a shuttle to pick me up from the train station. There is a restaurant at the hotel, which was basic but the food was surprisingly good. Also, the free breakfast in the morning was awesome and convenient. I found it comforting to be surrounded by other Bar takers. All in all, I think there are nicer hotels out there as far as cleanliness and location, but for the price, I would recommend staying here.

The room was ok. Carpets were filthy. Elevator didn't work the first day we were there. Fitness room dirty. No remote for the tv. Pool looked cloudy, did not use. Best part of the whole stay was the breakfast. Lots of food, good selection. The staff that cleaned the rooms were very kind. More attention needs to be paid overall.

I booked this hotel because I needed someplace to stay in Albany and I just went with the local special rate that I saw in my Hotels.com app. The location was good and the price was about half of others in the area. Check in was fine...I was told to walk down a hallway, down a ramp, and up some stairs. The further I got away from the reception area, the dingier the place got! The building my room was in apparently doesn't have an elevator as I had to shlep up some crappy stairs that looked like something out of an inner city high school. Fortunately I had packed light. Upon entering my room, with it's little no smoking decal on the door, I was greeted with a definite whiff of smokiness. I guess they don't allow smoking in there anymore, but last week it was still OK? The TV was not a flat screen, which is OK...I don't have one at home either. However, it was a very static-y looking picture, and my remote would not work. The bathroom was nice and clean, except for overflow plate was really rusty and nasty looking, and the tub was pretty slow draining...ew. All in all, I think the place is a bargain price, but you certainly won't get anything fancy.

The location of this hotel and the surprise of a hot breakfast were just great. Also, upon arrival I went for a late night swim. GREAT STAY!

Booked this room solely on proximity to destination in Albany, price, and name recognition (Ramada), and were extremely pleased with our stay there! Easy access to highway and to city, friendly and professional desk staff, yummy cookies at the desk while we were checking in, better than usual hot breakfast included in cost of room, and very comfy bed in a clean room. Would have expected less for the price, but couldn't have asked for more!

This is one of the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The enterance into the hotel was manually opened and you don't have any staff to assist you check-in. A lot of customers are losing their phones and other electronics at this point. I found an exspensive cell phone at this piont which was given to the front desk; I wasn't so lucky with my GPS. I brought a GPS into the Hotel and it vanished. The Food delivered to me from the hotel Kitchen was horrible. You will need a jack hammer to cut through the Mac & Chees. The bed was inching so bad when we just sat on it. My wife and I checked checked the bed. The pillow and bed sheets had food particle and stains on them I don't have words to discrib the fit on this bed. I was told the sheets are checnged two to three times a week regardless of how many days clients stay in the room durying the week. The bathroom shower was licking bad. There is no way the hotel will say they are on aware of this. In essence, this hotel needs a total overhall.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel while my son was doing an overnight visit at a College in Albany, NY on February 12th, 2012. We were looking for a reasonable priced hotel for a quick overnight stay. It was a fine hotel for just that. The room was clean and the complimentary hot breakfast was good. It was quiet and comfortable. The best thing about the hotel was the personable and attentive front desk manager. He was friendly and helpful. The hotel stay was made better by his warm welcome that afternoon. After saying goodnight to him around 9pm, i was surprised to see him again at the front desk when we checked out at 10 am the next morning. He made an ordinary hotel a little better because of his warm and friendly demeanor. Would recommend if staying in Albany for a short visit.

The front desk was very courteous and helpful with check-in. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Complimentary bottles of water and snacks in the room, which also had a small fridge and microwave. free wi-fi throughout, and a complimentary breakfast in the morning. I was very satisfied. I stayed in the main tower, but I heard from other guests that you don't want to stay in the low-rise attached building in the back because the rooms are horrible, so make sure you stipulate that when booking. Overall I was very happy with my stay

For the price I paid, this was perfectly fine. It was shabby (ceilings and carpet stained; cigarette burns in the comforter; chipped wood finishings; rickety toilet seat), but clean and comfortable. I don't understand the 3-star rating (this seems like a 2 1/2 at best). The bartender really should have given me a glass of tap soda water for free, and not the $2 he charged me, after a long work day. Staff was very friendly, though, otherwise.

Hotel is convenient and the price is good, but the bathrooms are terrible. The staff are very nice and accomodating.

watch your bill and credit card! i booked thru hotels.com and was paid in full before check-in, but had my credit card charges any way. took a few days, but it was fixed. the room was in need of serious work. the shower stall was falling off the wall.

The breakfast is even edible.

I stayed at the Ramada Plaza Albany for two nights. Upon arrival, the hotel seemed old, not well maintained and the hallways smelled. There was not enough lighting in the hallways. There were two elevators, only one functioning, and it made noises that made me wonder if the elevator is being maintained at all. I got into the room, the room was in a decent condition, except the bed was so uncomfortable, the bathroom sink did not drain, and the the tub had leaky faucet which did not help with the sleep. I called the front desk about the bath sink problem, they told me they will send someone, no one showed up for the two nights and three days while I was there. I definitely would not recommend this hotel. Only good thing was it was close to the downtown area (took me about 10 minutes to drive to the convention center)

The great: the service & staff was very very good. They have a shuttle to/from the airport and wherever you need, if its available. The good: nice set of amenities in the rooms - microwave, fridge, nice TV, and more. The bad: lousy location - surrounded by car dealers, the highway, and a lousy neighborhood. Just 2 miles from downtown, but you'd better have a car. Also, the building is aging badly, both inside and outside.

Room was fine - reasonably clean, comfortable, etc. The hotel shuttle took care of most of my transportation needs and rather than make me wait an hour for it one night, they told me to take a cab and they reimbursed me. Hallways were a little dingy, but who cares - I don't spend time in hotel hallways. All in all, for the price, a great deal.

My boyfiend and I were very pleased upon our arrival they had our room that we reserved ready for us at 2pm.Some hotels don't allow you to check in til after3pm.Our room had a clean,very comfy king sized bed and the room was odor free and very quiet.After visiting with family in the Albany,N.Y. area,we stopped into the hotel lobby bar at around 11pm and although the bartender was about to close he stayed open for a while longer so we could unwind with a couple of cocktails before heading back to our room :) The following morning I woke up around 8:30am and went downstairs for a lovey hot breakfast buffet.They had fresh scrambled eggs,sausage links,pastries,toast,english muffins and all types of juices,yogurts,fruits just to name a few and great coffee!I got to relax to the morning paper and the local news on the t.v. in the dining room.The location of the hotel was extremely convenient as well and had we not had our own vehicle,they would have provide transportation to the train station or airport!! I highly recommend Ramada Plaza Albany.

THe included hot buffet breakfast was fine but dinner the night before was not! The "greek" salad was iceberg lettuce with a few olives added for around $12. The ribs were okay but the mac and cheese that came with it wasn't good. The front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful.

The condition of our room was unacceptable. The knobs on the shower were broken, and an outlet box was haning out of the wall, wires and all. The celiing "popcorn" was falling off. It was not a 3 star hotel! The one good thing was that the staff was very friendly
