The room was very upscale, beds were comfortable, had a mini-fridge, great flat screen TV and the thermostat worked perfectly. Breakfast was good and had eggs, bacon and sausage as well as bagels, breads and delicious cinnamon rolls. I have only good things to say about this hotel. I would definitely stay here again!

We booked a spa suite for a 2 night much needed getaway. After settling into our room for the night we found our spa tub not working. We called down to the desk and got immediate attention and given a new room with a working spa tub and an apology. Worked out great.

We bought this room for our visiting guests. They liked the room and the hotel. They said the breakfast was good and very plentiful. I didn't think it was supposed to be included with the price of the room. The hotel was newly remodeled.

I had driven to Escondido from Palm Desert and arrived about 1am. It was raining and there were no more parking spots. The night manager was SO gracious and allowed me to park in an unmarked area, that was close to the door to the hotel, and wasn't in the way of any other cars. That little gesture made all the difference to me. When it's that late, and the weather is that ugly, and you're tired....all you want to do is get into your hotel room. Thank you sir!

after going to the San Diego Zoo, we stayed here overnight on our way the Safai Park. it was very convient and there were great places to eat. we had problems with the lights in our room, one tby the sofa bed that was not plugged in and no outlet nearby, and the entry light that kept coming back on after we truned it off. we had to call the front desk. the desk clerk came up immediately and disabled the light. the breakfast was nice and came with the price of the room. We would definite;y stay here again.

This place was great. The price was really good, very quiet and clean. Exactly what I was looking for. I had to switch rooms for the comfort of my mother who is in a walker. The staff was friendly and accomodating. I will definitely go back.

The hotel was better than expected for a 3-star hotel. Very clean and good staff. The walls were a little thin but it wasn't a problem. I would recommend staying on the second floor for better security. I don't like having a sliding door that opens to the parking lot.

The toilet wouldn't flush properly because they had a so called water saving bag in the toilets tank. The shower was also just a trickle. I have stayed in hotels all over the US and the world and I can honestly say that the shower volume was the worst that I have ever seen! I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone!

Stayed here for a weekend jaunt in San Diego with my husband, who is in the Navy and stationed on a ship not too far away from the hotel. We both live and are from California (I currently reside in LA), so we didn't need anything particularly fancy/close to action/bars/etc. Everything was clean, and as expected, and the rooms have been updated and look modern. The service was fine and the free parking is a definite bonus. The in-room mini fridge came in very handy, and we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We'd come here again, should we be in the area.

Hotel was dusty and under remodelation. Not good at all.

Location suited us well, but a car is necessary. Freeway I-15 very convenient, 25 minutes to Downtown San Diego and airport

Well when we got to the hotel it wasn't ready so we had to wait. The rooms weren't close to each other.....the rooms definately do not look like the website the rooms are outdated.....we were able to hear the next door neighbor snore the hotel was hot in the hallways as well as the room, it took a long while to cool down. The sink in the bathroom did not work.....they did come and fix it right away. I must say the breakfast was above average....overall I won't be staying here again.

Served the purpose, but old rooms, no ac in hallway which was uncomfortable. Thin walls. Thankfully we only needed to stay a short time.

I chose this motel because it is located in a very nice neighborhood. It is closed to a number of restaurants and shops. The place is quiet and safe (the elevator is card operated). There is breakfast service, but it is not worth the cost (about $9.00). You can get cheaper breakfast in nearby restaurants.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel and it was a very nice and clean place to stay. The staff was very helpful and extremely nice. The location is perfect and there is a Star Bucks across the street and The Elephant Bar Rest right next door. Free way access is easy and I even found a yoga studio 1 mile away! I recommend this place.

Clean and convenient but . . we could hear the tromping around on the floor above, the breakfast buffet was entirely over-priced for what was offered and the wait to have a requested item delivered to the room was unreasonable. I would not have wanted to have paid full price, but at a discount for a place to sleep, it was a good value.

The staff was very un coperative. Hotel is old and dirty. The people who stay were very loud and rowdy. Not a place to go again

I would not recommend this hotel. My wife called ahead to reserve a roll-away bed for one of our kids. When we got to the hotel, we had no roll-away bed. They said there were none available plus, if there were, we'd have to pay an extra nightly fee for its usage. Next, the shower/bathtub did not drain properly. We told the front desk about it but it never got fixed during our three night stay. We were taking showers in chin-deep water. The maid service didn't replace our towels after the first night even though we had put them on the floor. They also never bothered to clean the coffee maker while we were there - always had our used coffee bag in it when we used it.

The first thing that drove my wife and me crazy about this hotel was the motion lights. Every time we were in the bathroom getting ready, the lights would go off and we would have to jump around to get them to turn on again. Annoying. Also, there was no a/c vent or vent fan in the bathroom. When one of us would take a shower, the bathroom would fill with steam and get so hot that we couldn't get ready immediately after showering. You had to wait for it to cool down. Then there was the bed. It was one of those with plastic sheets - the kind you would imagine at a really cheap, sleezy hotel with hourly rates (if you get my meaning). It made so much noise that every time one of us rolled over, we would wake up. Parking was terrible as well. There was no convenient access to our room, so I had to carry all of our bags the entire length of the hotel. Shady looking characters were hanging out in the parking lot all night. I didn't feel safe being there with my wife and our baby. Finally, this hotel is not close to anything. We were only there one night and it was definitely one night too many. You may be attracted to this hotel by cheap rates, but it is not worth it, even for one night. Spend a couple extra dollars and stay somewhere that has a complimentary breakfast.

Hotels.com assured me I would get 2 queen beds, I did not get that when I checked in. I could not cancel because of my late booking. Will not use Hotels.com again. Holiday Inn was OK.

it is close to the hwy. ( convience). lobbies are dark and had very strong smell. we felt unsafe.Not a planeat expierence. It was also expencive.

We came to watch our daughter's soccer tournament in nearby Del Mar. The hotel's price and location was our top priority but surprisingly, the room and bathroom was very spacious, updated, the airconditioner worked, added to that, the staff was very courteous and friendly. We would stay again sometime.

Holiday Inn San Diego-Rancho Bernardo was a mess. It was a construction site and there was no parking available. We had to park in a nearby restaurant. The room was ok but the outside of the room where the balcony was is under construction. I wouldn't recommend this hotel until the construction is complete.

I like staying at Holiday Inn Expresses but this one was a disappointment. Staff very unorganized for check in, had a hard time finding a clean room for me at 5:30 in the evening. Were dealing with other disgruntled guests while checking me in and when I got to my room it was not fully cleaned. I had to hunt down a maid to complete the room. This hotel also charged for breakfast when that has typically been a free service with Holiday Inn Expresses. Hotel is undergoing some renovation but this was not a good stay for me. I will not stay here again.

Upon arrival there were two loud parties taking place at the pool and outdoor patio area. As a result we had to request a new room because of the noise. The hotel was able to quickly accommodate that request. In all other aspects the stay was fine. The hotel obviously gets heavy use and the overall appearance and condition of the facility reflected this.

misunderstanding about the "complimentary breakfast". I was misled to believe breakfast was complimentary via-internet, turns out I was wrong. Receptionist was rude when I inquired about it. Refrigerator started making loud annoying humming noise at about 4 AM...I couldn't go back to sleep. You need friendlier receptionist and better appliances.

I stayed at this Holiday inn with my husband and our three lil boys, it was nice, the kids loved being away from home. My room was cleaned during the day while i was away which i really liked. The only complaint i have is there was no channel guide for the TV and that the walls were kind of thin. I could hear my kids down the hall way. ( there very hyper boys) Other then that i was pretty satisfied and would definately stay there again.

The hotel is okay. Easy access by highway. Excellent diner next door with a great selection of food. The room was clean and relatively quiet. The only problem we had was that the room service showed up for cleaning at 6:30pm right after we came back from our trip. We really didn't like this.

My room did not have DVD nor cable. I could not find out about local weather nor could I watch a DVD movie I brought with me. Other hotels have these amenities and Hilton did not.

Loved the layout of the room!! Breakfast had an assortment of goodies to chose from. Friendly staff completed the deal. Would return again

We found the room to be very accomondating and was right next door to Elephant Bar, so we didn't have to do any additional driving for dinner. Hotel staff was very pleasant. Grounds were maintained and looked nice.

Loudest air-conditioning unit ever.

After a day of sightseeing we went to check into our hotel. We arrived right at check in time but was told our room was not ready. We were told that we had a 45 min. wait. Well, it turned into a 2 hour wait. Finally we got our room, happy to finally get cleaned up and go out to dinner. We were disappointed to find that the hotel was be renovated. there was drywall dust in the halls and our room was clean but old. We were looking forward to the spa tub that we paid extra for but...it would not work. We complained and were given a free breakfast the next morn. The good things I can say about this hotel is that the staff is very friendly, the room was quite and the breakfast was excellent.

10 - 15 minutes away from San Diego Safari Park. Good and varied restaurants nearby (eg El Torrito, Pho, Indian food). Good and warm pool and jacuzzi.

My family stayed at this hotel overnight on a weekend that we were visiting the San Diego Safari Park. The hotel was undergoing some remodeling, but our room had already been redone. The lobby was attractive, and our room had modern amenities, including a beautiful large showerhead! We had a microwave, refrigerator, TV, desk, chairs, side table, and nightstand in our room, along with our two queen sized beds. The beds were comfortable with nice linens, the room was clean, and even the towels were plush. This really was a great room for us for a good price.

Eating breakfast at a hotel helps speed up the morning when you're on a schedule. 6a.m. breakfast (that we had planned on) was still not open at 6:20. We had to leave & go elsewhere. Also (and worst) the non-smoker room smelled like an ash tray.
