The bathtub was filthy and I had to rinse it before using it. There was only 1 soap in the bathroom when they usually leave 2 soaps (1 for sink, 1 for bath). There was no rubber mat for the bathtub. There was no laundry bag. The person who cleaned this room did a sloppy job and evidently no one inspects the rooms before a guest arrives

Room was clean, easy to find right off the highway. Breakfast was good. We were there for a meeting/conference and the facilities were very well suited.

Hotel amenities where ok.

1. Buffet style breakfast very good, best of all do not have to leave hotel and locate a breakfast place. 2. The business center excellent facilities. 3. Location is very good close to major highway and buses for the downtown core..

i should book directly to make my stay more pleasant as they opened all the tv channels when i exteneded my stay for one night same room same price class but they have not given me any discount for exteded night.

I am often in Ottawa and usually stay at the Chimo Hotel. The staff always seem to go out of their way to ensure that the guests experience a great stay at the hotel. During the last visit I met the Sales Manager and was pleased by his attitude about "customer service'

After reading online reviews of this hotel I looked for alternatives but decided to stay here because we were part of a group. I read some poor reviews but was surprised and pleased to find our room clean updated and more than satisfactory. At check in, we were upgraded to a different room because we required two beds and there wasn't any other rooms left to suit our needs. I am very appreciative to the staff for taking care of us.

Very Old hotel. Clean, comfortable rooms, but very small, very outdated, tiny tv, very old heating cooling unit, rundown neighbourhood, very slow elevators. Parking is now free, wasn't when we booked, however there was a hot tub when we booked that is no longer there. Would not return even though it was a central location. Needs major renovation.

I would like to say Thank You for a wonderful stay at your hotel. The room was clean when i arrived and clean when i got back in from work the staff was amazing and very friendly. Everything was so closely located , and when I am back into town I would defiantly stay at this hotel. Thank you every one from making my stay a happy and safe one

This hotel has just changed all their beds, beautiful comfy pillow tops. They need to also change their filthy stained carpets in the rooms. The bathroom was old, the bathtub didn't drain even after telling them about it after the first night. The little kid hand prints remained on the mirror closet doors from the day I arrived. Spoke with front desk about getting housekeeping to make sure things are cleaned properly. Lights were missing knobs to turn off and on, 2 were not even plugged in. Had only 1 light that worked till I plugged in the others. Hard to see and do when you arrive at night. I had previously stayed at the Chimo quite a few years back, was quite disappointed at how the quality of the place has deteriorated, I will not return there anymore.

We found some positive and some very aggravating issues during our stay. First the positives: for the most part the staff were friendly and helpful especially the restaurant crew who were excellent and the maintenance guy who came to fix our toilet and the maid service. The room was a good size even though it appeared very old was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Now the negatives: The room was only booked by the hotel front desk staff for one night despite being booked through hotels.com for four nights. This caused a number of inconveniences in that we did not have enough breakfast vouchers to our room keys failing to work twice. We received no apology from the hotel for this mistake. The shower head was plugged with only enough flow to barely rinse with. The toilet blocked up once and didn't work very well for the entire time i.e. failed to flush properly. The TV would not tune into one of the stations shown in the guide i.e. the new CTV 2 which we watch all the time at home. The volume was controlled to mid point only and was in constant competition with the HVAC system to be heard. All in all very annoying

My friend and I only spent one night at the hotel but we were quite satisfied with it. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. You can tell that the hotel is old and could use some updating (there was rust around the drain in the shower) but it certainly didn't affect the quality of our stay there. Also the rates were good. I would certainly not hesitate to stay there again in the future.

The night we checked in they upgraded us to a suite, due to a ice hockey tournament in town and alot of kids at the Hotel, We reserved a room with 2 queen size beds and the suite only had 1. They said they would provide a roll away bed at no additional cost. When this was brought to the room, the bedding on it looked dirty and there were broken springs on the roll away. Noticed the room had a hide-a-bed couch, there again the sheets looked dirty, called and 1 sheet and a blanket was brought up, which the sheet had holes in it and the blanket had tears in it. They also had electrical cords that fell across the register that were hot and burnt, this they corrected. I was in the room when housecleaning came and I was told on the glasses, & cup that was used, they just use hot water and a towel to clean them. Since I questioned her on it, she brought 3 clean glasses and took the others away.

Great staff, nice hotel.

I have stayed at the Chimo on many occassions. They have excellent front desk staff always willing to go the extra mile I was especially pleased with Zaman and Alexie who made the stay a little more enjoyable thanks to their help

The location is very excelent, only 5 min far from downtown, and other attractions, the mattresses was very uncomfotable, there is no windows to open to get fresh air, there wasnot seen ant exhuast room services was excelent,

Good Hotel to stay due to location. The Queen bed is sagging, and very soft. Unfortunately it was a cold day and there was no heat. in the room. The heating system did not work. only two packets of sugar and some sweetner was placed. No tea bags. It would be nice to replace the items, without these the coffee pot may not be used. Thanks.

Aside from the fact that the beds were extremely uncomfortable and a noisy hockey team was rooming on our floor, the main reason I would never stay at the Chimo again is because our luggage was cleared out of our room on the second day, while we were at a family wedding. You can imagine the surprise we got when we entered our room to find that all our luggage, clothes, personal belongings...everything was gone. When I went to complain at the front desk, they made up some story about someone calling pretending to be me and said that we had forgotten our stuff in our room and for the hotel to pack everything up and we'd pick it up later. The truth is that the person working the front desk on the day we arrived had made an error and had entered that we were staying for just one night and not two as we had booked. Luckily I had printed the confirmation with the reserved dates. The front desk then gave me back all my stuff without even asking to see some identification. I could have been anyone and my belongings could have been stolen.

We were looking for a fairly inexpensive, downtown hotel for one night. Our daughter lives nearby and we only needed a good night's sleep! The bed was comfey, and the bathroom was large. The restaurant was closed in the afternoon, but got a wonderful cup of coffee in the bar!! Directly across the street from a large, indoor mall with lots of shopping. Very close to the Rideau Canal and fairly close to the Parliament buildings (Can't walk to them though unless you are a "walker") Great experience, nice staff and a good night's sleep!! Would recommend highly.

Stayed last Saturday for likely the last time at the hotel. In addition to the bathroom needing basic cleaning, we found blood on the walls, filthy tiles and fixtures, a tub that would not drain and a sink that was stained. Add in a very soft bed and it was a long night. This hotel has hosted hockey teams, baseball and soccer tournaments endlessly for years and as a result it has worn down over time. The staff are great but the attention to detail is just not there. I hope they fix things up but until they do we will not return.

When we booked this hotel we booked 2 queen with a roll out cot, when we checked into the hotel, they upgraded us to a bigger room/suite that had a separate bedroom and then the pull out couch. The room had a few items missing, but were brought to us with one phone call to the front desk. We were glad to discover the fridge tucked away in the wall unit, and it was great to have the coffee maker there in the morning. The location was excellent for where we needed to travel back and forth to and there was lots of shopping, and restaurants in the area.

A little bit old,but updated. The beds are comfy. Good location, reasonable price. The gym is antique. Pool is a great size and nice.

The biggest complaint I have is the room cleanliness was disappointing. Not that there was dirt or stains, but there was a piece of toilet paper in the bathroom floor. There was a chocolate wrapper behind the night table. One glass seemed to be out of place without the paper cover that indicates it's clean. Pool was good. Breakfast was overpriced for what it was. What made it acceptable was the rate that I got through hotels.com

We were not disappointed in our choice of choosing the Chimo Inn in Ottawa We had stayed there about 30 years ago when our son was very young and we had visited Ottawa and all the museums. We had been satisfied then also. We would most certainly recommend this hotel to our friends and we will surely stay there if and when we return to Ottawa

The Location was great but the rooms are very outdated compared to other Hotels and either it's boiling hot in your room or freezing. I'd give it 3 stars at the most.

Comfy beds. Clean. Pool very clean and open at 6 am. Staff friendly and free parking. Wi fi free too! Restaurant on site great buffet breakfast for not a bad price. What more can I say. Will stay there again.

Location was ideal for tournaments in the Gloucester area, lots of reasonably priced restaurants in the area and shopping mall across the street. The hotel indoor pool is a great way for the players to socialize and the breakfast buffet was a great deal for the price.

This hotel is reasonably priced for the service that it offers and is in an excellent location near the highway and across the street from a mall

A nice enough hotel, Safe and confortable. the GYM however is TERRIBLE. small, airless, only three pieces of cardio, equiment, no music, no towels, no TV and water dispensor was empy at 6:30am. if you are planning on working out you will be very disappointed.
