Reception was very friendly. She informed me of the discount I could get at the nearby restaurants--had a great bowl of Pho at the Vietnamese restaurant! And the bed was very cozy and clean.

Good value; has a small pool and hot tub. Close to amenites and beach walking. Dog friendly.

The hotel was well kept and the location was far enough away from the big city streets, but not too secluded from entering downtown Vancouver. The room was very clean when we arrived and was comfortably designed. Not a huge space, but enough to put your things, sleep, and get ready for the day.

This is not a bad place to stay in the summer. But the heaters are antiquated, slow to heat, and then too hot. Apparently the rooms are not insulated because when the heat is turned down or off in order to avoid noise and overly dry air, the room is immediately cold. Not an enjoyable or restful night.

reasonible clean, and quiet. good cross section of eateries very cloe by. a micro wave and fridge would be nice

We have stayed here before. The location is great. Handy to the Lions Gate bridge for getting to down town. We found the room clean and comfortable. The front very helpful. The manager Randy ( I believe that is his name ) was very helpful and nice to deal with.

I was on my way to start my vacation and chose this hotel because it was close to where I needed to be to get on the train. The hotel was alright but not the best hotel I have stayed in. The room was clean but the bathroom was not all that appealing. Overall, a decent hotel but I probably would not stay there again given the choice. There were other hotels in the area to choose from as well.

There were small flying insects, bugs smashed to the ceiling, a few beetles crawling across the floor and on the walls. I couldn't really spend time in there and relax; it felt too dirty and wasn't remotely comfortable. The white comforter had either blood or faeces on it. The bed, elevated with a tall metal frame (maybe to keep the bugs off?), looked like it had been borrowed from a hospital or something. The secondary lock on the door looked like it had been torn off forcibly. Something about the room stirred up my asthma, whether it was pet dander or mold, I'm not sure. I understand that cheap motels aren't very nice in general, but I think this is sub-standard even for a cheap place.

The hotel was reasonably priced but the service was terrible. The front desk staff were cold and very rude and when we ran out of towels(because they only give you two rather then four) or our key to the room stopped working(at 1:00am) they made us walk all the way down to fix it ourselves. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone unless you were desperate and had no where else to stay.

Our rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and courteous.

The TravelLLodge Lionsgate is very old and definitely no frills. The furnishings are sparce, the bathrooms small with stall showers only. The large frosted wondow in the bath gives nice light but no drapes. When the sun comes in, you wake up as it reflects off the mirror to the bed. The location is about 1/4 mile from the Lionsgate Brdge joining North Vancouver with Vancouver. If you have a car, it is very easy to get to downtown. There is a decent Vietnamese restaurant and a Denny's right next store, but other than that, you havea fairly long walk to get to anything. There area is mostly retail, with a mall about a mile away. ,

You get what you pay for...The staff was really nice and helpful; they were friendly, provided recommendations when needed etc... The room is definitely a one star. Maybe 1.5. I wouldn't recommend it for more than one night and only if you are in need of a place to crash. The beds were fine but the bathroom was gross. That shower still gives me the creeps. It's not THAT difficult to get rid of mildew. Bring flip flops, don't touch the bathroom walls and bring your own pillow; you'll be fine.

Overall - great value - great location.

Severa items deficient. 1) 2 adults, one bath towel 2) Rooms smelled musty. No air 3)Knob missing on air system to operate air movement 4)No hooks on 1/2 of curtain rod to support it. Need to pay attention to details.

Room was clean, and quiet.... not modern but very close to convention center with ample parking...I was driving a cube van. The lasy at the desk even let us book the room at a reduced rate through hotels.com using the computer in the lobby....very nice

The housekeeper forgot to put the all set of shampoo and soap bar on the first day. The room is ok. The hairdryer did not work during drying my hair but the service can provide another one. There are some disadvantages but I think it is what I paid.

I was not impressed at all with this hotel. There was mold in the shower! For the price it sucked. I wont stay there again.

This was an okay place to stay for just a room to sleep. It was not fancy or super new but it had great value for the money spent. We would stay again. They are making efforts to renew the place and then it will be a much better place to stay.

We recently stayted here May 11th, 2011 and it was a good night sleep. We are not picky where we stay, so for us it was great, Close to a mall and transit system. The hotel is older, so for the price it was good enough. Small bathroom, a little musty, but nothing to bad. The lady who checked us in was very friendly. The hotel is right beside a Earl's resturaunt, which was good. The hotle is right beside a busy street, but we didnt get bothered by it. Over all we would go back.

It was perfect for the amount of time spent in the room, very close to downtown Vancouver. The bathroom was a little outdated but other than that would definately recommend/stay here again.

This hotel was just what I needed..Was traveling through on my way to Nanaimo and needed a short stop in Vancouver..Beds were clean..carpets were vaccuumed... all in all good for the price. Room was very quiet..slept well and was on my way in the morning..Would stay there again for the price.

Overnight in North Vancouver. Bathroom: Stand-up shower 2 1/2 ft by 2 1/2 ft. Shower door - can't tell if it's etched or soap scum. Patched-up what looked like 1st world war non-matching tiles with caulking top to bottom left, right and center is full of mildew. They tried to cover the mildew by putting a blob of an inch bead of caulking on random areas that have been covered with some more mildew. I felt bad for my friend who's sharing the room with me every time I used the bathroom because her bed is ONE FOOT away from the bathroom door towards the headboard. Imagine and no exaggeration. Found gooey sticky stuff on drawer handles and chairs. No breakfast but given a 20% off coupon at Denny's. I asked for a quiet room, so they put us at the end overlooking the main road on Marine Drive. (When I looked out the window a truck driver happened to pass by and waived at me.) Not sure if this has something to do with me not booking directly with them as I used Hotels.ca/com. Couldn't wait to get out of there.

This hotel was the cheapest room available in Vancouver that night. All I needed was a bed to crash in and a shower with hot water in the morning and that's what I got. The rooms are obviously a bit dated, but the remote control for the TV worked and the sheets and towels were clean. The room was freezing cold when I got in, but warmed up nicely after I found the thermostat inside the AC and turned on some heat. I was looking for a no frills crash pad for 8 hours and was perfectly satisfied with the Vancouver Lions Gate Travel Lodge

As expected from other reviews. Much as expected for the price.

For the price and location, you can't beat it. However, there are better ways to clean up a hotel. A coat of paint can only go so far, it would ideal if they gutted the hotel and renovated it properly. The rooms smelled old and musty, but was as clean as they can get them.

It's a Travelodge and looks like one, but the room was suprisingly clean and neat. The location is convenient for going north of the city and central city (the bridge is a nightmare at rush hour(s) though) but it'll take forever to access southern areas. The immediate neighborhood is nothing but 5 minutes west is West Vancouver with lots of restaurants and shops. I wasn't expecting much and I was pleasantly surprised.

Prima en betaalbaar hotel als je op doorreis bent van Vancouver naar Vancouver Island . Ligt dicht bij de ferry terminal (Horseshoe Bay-Nanaimo)

Bon motel avant d'embarquer à Horseshoe Bay, et toute proche de Stanley Park. Un bon restau vietnamien juste à côté. Pas de breakfast, même continental dans les Travelodges que j'ai pratiqués. Avis positif par rapport à mes souhaits.

Das Hotel liegt etwas ausserhalb von Vancouver, mit dem Auto ist man aber schnell über die Lions Gate Bridge gefahren und sofort im Standley Park. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist super, das Hotel sehr sauber und der Pool klein, aber fein. Wir würden jeder Zeit wieder hin fahren.

Hotel in guter Lage zu Vancouver Downtown aber für den Preis sind die Zimmer zu alt und abgewohnt.
