Always a great place to visit. Hotel was in a great position as we walked to all the areas we wanted to see.

Was on level 27 with harbor views and was amazing.

The stay was excellent from start to finish, with staff well trained and friendly. Exception was one of the waiting staff who must have been having an off day at breakfast on Friday morning - her attitude was the only thing that spoiled an otherwise perfect time.

I'll be back. I love the view.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental. The room was spotless and spacious and the decor was elegant. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the staff polite and professional. We will definitely return on our next trip to Sydney!

The Intercontinental occupies a converted 1930s office building with restaurants and public spaces allied to a modern accomodation tower within easy walking distance of Circular Quay, the Opera House and within walkign distance of the central business district and opposite the mainPark..Convenient for rail access to the airport via Circular Quay station. Good modern well maintained facilities. Staff share duties with the hotel school that occuie spart of the original building so excellent service. Mixture of business and tourist clientele though mostly the former. Good food though no distinctive real signature restaurant as with many 5* places these days. Reasonable small swimming pool towards the top of the tower.

Friends from Wales introduced us to the Hotel some 15 years ago, it was very impressive then and I must say has improved over time. The standard of service, meals and gneral hotel are excellent. I doubt any other hotel in Sydney could beat it.

While we found the hotel staff and service to be exceptional we were let down by the outdated room.

Lovely hotel in a good position. However the charges for wi fi connection were high and we were not told that calls to mobile phones were charged as long distance so we paid over $ 55 for three short local calls. That plus 11/2% for payment by debit card and another 3% currency change commission left us feeling disappointed. Nonetheless lovely stay but beware the extras!

We stayed at this lovely hotel for my husbands 60th But unfortunately was not long enough. Next time we will make it longer.

Our stay at the hotel could not be faulted. From the time we arrived we were treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt like royalty. The room we had was well appointed and the view overlooking the harbour was magical. We ate in the restaurant at the buffet. The buffet supplied extremely high quality, healthy and exquisite food. The wait staff were friendly, helpfull and most obliging. The view we had from the dining area made us feel as if we were in Paris. This was a much needed break after spending almost 7 months by our sons side in the brain injury unit. this experience enabled us to feel detached from all this for a night. Thank you for looking after us.

A gorgeous old styled hotel with amazing views!! Only qualm...a tray charge on already pricey room service!?

My husband I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel in Sydney for the weekend. Our room was very comfortable and the staff was very professional, friendly and courteous. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is situated close to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge and is near many good restaurants. I have no hesitation in returning to the hotel or recommending it to others.

Spectacular hotel, location and service

This is a great hotel for visiting all that the circular quay has to offer, the Rocks, the Opera House, the Domain. The original architecture of the foyer adds to ambiance. The breakfast is excellent and the proximity to restaurants and to a vast array of available public transport is also important for those who wish to see more than just the central CBD of Sydney. The views from the rooms are outstanding.

Staff were very friendly and eager to please. Reception arranged a late check out. The Club Lounge at the top of the hotel has the best views of the Botanical Gardens, the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

After a bit of a dissappointiing on check in there was no adjoining rooms, they gave us free brekkie instead. Well worth it. Great location great views. Some of the staff were very unhelpful, but other made up for it.

Location was fabulous. Walked to everyting!

Hotel Intercontinental in Sydney - seconds from the famous Sydney Opera House and Botanical Gardens... Well-equipped 24 hour gym facility... -Peter, Phil & Eli - concierges booked terrific restaurant reservations (Otto ristorante on the Finger Wharf was superb) -made excellent sight seeing choices geared to our energetic lifestyle (walking to Paddington for quaint boutique shopping & taking the ferry to Manly Beach for an organic lunch)

Great location - possibly the best if you want to be close to the Sydney Opera House. Beautifully furnished ground-floor lobby and mezzanine area. Great breakfast menu, with excellent service staff. Although we were 30+ floors up, the sound of garbage trucks from the street was very penetrating, causing me and my companion to wake up several times at night. A few times we could also hear a baby crying from one of the rooms surrounding us. Obviously, the noise insulation in our room was quite poor. Except for the noise, the hotel is very good and the rooms reasonably priced.

nice, clean, tidy hotel, within walking distance (5 minsutes) of circular quay (for opera house & Harbour bridge) expensive if pleasant lounge bar, NO free WIFI. Would be happy to stay again

We paid a premium to fly with Quantas and had poor flight and service, so not a great start to our holiday ! However, the staff at the Intercontinental were fantastic and always happy to help. The place is so clean, the food is exceptional including room service and the concierge do a great job. Whenever I go to Sydney again, I'll only ever stay at this hotel now ! Five stars for me !

beautiful hotel would love to spend all my holidays there , especially would love to stay for christmas . The ambience was devine we felt comfortable and at ease with staff - who were extremely helpful polite and attentive

Hard to fault, I was there over a busy two days and sadly wasn't able to take advantage of any of the facilities, but the room was clean and comfortable, the location central, the staff I encountered were polite and helpful and the rate I paid competitive.

My husband and I stayed at the Intercontinental for our first trip to Sydney. The location cannot be beat. The staff was professional, friendly, and quite helpful. The decor and interior was beautiful. We recommend this to anyone looking for a top quality stay in Sydney. PS - Be sure to make time to stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens around the corner.

This is a great hotel. We found the rooms to be impeccable and the staff very courteous. It is one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed in in a long time. Their suggestions for meals out were very helpful.

Great view and great room. We did not have breakfast included with our price. To purchase breakfast was very expensive so just took our own. View from the pool upstairs was incredible.

The Hotel exceeded the norm in friendliness and assistance. The room service was exceptionally good and prompt. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

great hotel in a great area but concierge was not too helpful and was rude...

The hotel was owesome and great for the money...the cleaness, the location from circular Quay areas are perfect for walking around...the only thing that the hotel needs to improve is the elevator service...took a long time from each floor to go down and too full at the time we were there...almost 15mins waited time to get into the ground level from 10 floor and up.

This hotel is everything you'd expect from a 5 star hotel with the wonderful hotels.com price! The staff were so kind and helpful and the rooms and their views were fantastic! Loved, loved staying here. Excellent location, too, we walked literally everywhere and saw everything we wanted to see. No need for a rental car or cab; Sydney Opera House and the Harbor are just minutes away.

Beautiful rooms and public spaces. Loved the Club floor breakfast. Really worth the money to upgrade.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) recently stayed at the InterContinental Hotel in Sydney - beautiful hotel in an ideal location. Fantastic concierge service. Would highly recommend this hotel. Kids loved the pool.

I am sure we got this hotel at a special rate but nevertheless, it far exceeded my expectations. Very comfortable, fantastic location with views over the botanical gardens and a really really great attitude from the staff from bellboy to Manager. Highly recommend.
