this hotel would do in a pinch. The desk staff was cordial and responsive. The room showed wear and tear, with stains on the chair. The continental breakfast was below even my low expectations and consisted of packaged sweet rolls and luke warm coffee crowded into the tiny reception area.

Most things about the hotel were acceptable, including updated bedding, but the shower had very low water pressure or a low flow shower head, so it took quite a while to wash my hair. Also the continental breakfast was quite literally just toast, danish, juice, and coffee.

I got dozens of bed bug bites on my head and neck. STAY AWAY from room 104 and probably the whole place.

The motel was run down. The rooms were old and dingy. Paper thin walls that made it hard to sleep. A shouting match at 2:30 AM kept me awake for more than an hour.

Please do not stay, the room I was in was full of bed bugs. And the Front Desk staff was not willing to change my room. I would never, ever stay again, even for free. Watch out!

great place for the price!

this room was big and comfortable however when u check in u need more than 4 towels. Then upon closer inspection of the room there were areas were cleaning had been missed. The back of the bathroom door had crud stuck to it do not care to know the nature of it, the wall and the mirror had what looked like dry crud stuck to it also. It made you question the cleanliness of the room. Not a good sign when u drive up and there is a matress upside down on a tarp in the parking lot? The walls are very thin and if u are unfortunate enough to have some party idiots above u good luck sleeping

Only problem is this location allows dog. Multiple neighbors had dogs that barked and kept us up and woke us up really early.

The wireless internet was too slow to get anything done in the evening at the hotel.

There were only two towels for two people. With a king size bed there should have been at least four. Bed was hard, but the room was clean.

Popcorn always available in the lobby. Breakfast not much, just a sweet roll and toast, coffee, juice. Room very acceptable. Price great. Staff very nice and competent.

This is clearly a Motel. The bed was so uncomfortable I had to fold the bedspread over twice to get to not wake up with bruises. The heater/AC did not have a thermostat, which means I was up multiple times during the night turning it on or off manually. There was no breakfast complementary or otherwise. The carpet felt like it hadn't been cleaned in more than a year. All in all, not a 3+ star hotel, more like a 1. I would rate it with a 2 if they'd call it a Motel.

Liked everything except the bed. It was a little firm for me but other than that the place was good, clean and quiet and perfect for our one overnighter trip

A basic clean room, somewhat older, but clean and had a couch, microwave, fridge, table/chairs, etc. The included "free breakfast" is pretty non-existant, but if you think of it as just not including breakfast, it's still a good deal for the price, and it's right next to Denny's and Hobee's.

This is more of a motel like place, so it's good if you're not very picky and just need a quick place to sleep. The room was a typical room, decent, but I also didn't get a very "clean" kind of feeling, not like at other hotels. It may be because i requested a smoking room. Since it was a smoking room, the room actually didn't smell when I got in (or maybe I was too tired to notice), which was good, but I was a bit confused with the plastic bag over the fire alarm. You can definitely tell it was a smoking room as there were a lot of burns on the carpets, which probably didn't add to it looking very 'clean', but at least it accommodates to smokers, something that's becoming more difficult with hotels, these days. (between this hotel and the Ramada Inn, I like the Ramada Inn a little better, but the ease of getting to the this hotel is better than Ramada.) I missed the breakfast, so I can't comment on that. I guess it ended at 9a, and I checked out around 9:30a. The staff were friendly and nice; absolutely no complaints there. Check in was easy and same with checking out--it always is with Hotels.com reservations. The location was very easy, just off a main street so easy access to highways/freeways, main streets to the town. I'd recommend it if you're passing through town and need a quick place to stay, but it's not that romantic.

The Vagabond Inn is a motel and a cheap one at that. If you're traveling on a budget and don't plan on spending much time in the room, then you're good to go. If you're expecting the Ritz, then don't bother. It's run by a nice enough family and there's a Denny's next door so that will save you when it comes to food and drinks. I don't want to sound too picky, but here's a few things I would like to point out: - The "breakfast" consisted of a loaf of cheap white bread which you could toast, gross apple or orange juice from a machine, and some packaged danishes. The "breakfast" was served on a small counter right next to where you check in. At least there was a popcorn machine with tasty (but stale) popcorn. - No fresh coffee in the breakfast area? C'mon guys...it's not that hard/expensive. Although there was a coffee machine in the room, we didn't bother. - The TV was of poor quality and the volume button on the remote didn't work. - The soap, shampoo, and towels were of poor quality. - On one night we noticed our blanket had a burned-in stains on it. The next night our sheets had stains on them.

It is a nice and decent hotel. The rooms are cheap and surprisingly the rooms are very very clean. For the price I did not expect such a clean room. The room has all the facilities which are needed, the shower head could be more powerful but that’s not a show stopper. The hotel is in Sunnyvale, right close to Denny’s and the 101, what more could one ask? Friendly staff, which are polite, helpful and courteous. I Liked my stay, and for the price I liked it even more.

This a motel so understand you are driving up to the rooms and they are all externally facing. Room was clean, fast internet, and all the basics like soap, shampoo, etc. Towels are a little skimpy but do the job. The bathroom was a little cold as it was a colder than average day and the heat was in the main room. If you are looking for reasonable rate, safe, clean, this should do it.

This was fine for a quick stay and not requiring anything more than a bed for the night - it did have fridge, microwave and coffee maker which was nice. Price was also good for the area.

Straight forward two star hotel. Not the Ritz, but for the price, it's fine. Clean rooms, partially updated bathrooms (new tiles, toilet, older tubs showers.

Not fancy but clean and comfortable, good value. Conveniently close to freeway but surprisingly quiet. Two restaurants next door. Everything worked and staff friendly and helpful.

Clean, well equipped rooms and friendly staff

Affordable, anyhow. However, too poor internet backbone for many stay. From the middle of the Sylicon Valley location point of view, poor internet is nothing. Enpower the backbone.

One of the reasons we selected this hotel was because it advertised free access to a local gym. When two of us went to the lobby to ask for passes, we were told that they only had one, so one of could go now and the other could go when the first returned. This also means that if someone else is using the one pass and you want to exercise, either you pay for admission to a gym or you wait for an undetermined amount of time. Vagabond's amenity statement about free gym access may not be criminally fraudulent, but it is completely misleading.

I use the Vagabond when I need to spend the night in Sunnyvale. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. Frequented by contractors and early risers, the sound of trucks idling in the morning has been the only downside. This is reasonable lodging at a good price. Not the place I'd take my wife to on vacation but the staff is friendly and I appreciate the good value.

This hotel was great, very clean, close to everything, staff were pleasant. I'd definitely come back again.

This hotel doesn't come with frills and all that but it is in a safe neighbourhood and clean. Don't expect fluffy linens or extremely nice decor. For the price, I wasn't disappointment. The wireless internet connection could have been better but other than that it was a pretty solid hotel in its class.

Got in at 11 PM and left at 9 AM on a business trip Had a great stay, was quieter than the highway location would lead me to believe. Staff was helpful. Neighborhood had necessities in easy walking distance. I especially appreciated the working, secure Wifi and free access to the nearby health club. Skip the (marginal) Continental breakfast and go to Denny's next door or other. For the price, I would stay here again for business.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Vagabond Inn, I only dropped into Sunnyvale to visit a friend but really wanted to stay longer because of the Inn!

Nice, clean and quiet motel.

This hotel is tucked almost under the Mathilda overpass and is hard to find. Yet it's a good bargain for budget traveller in Silicon Valley - priced marginally over the neigboring Motel6, it is much more tenable with larger rooms, fridges, irons and microwaves. I only wish the curtains and wall paint would be less depressive; also room service sometimes gets sporadic on weekends. Breakfast is not much to speak about, but it's a steal for this price anyway. Will stay here again.

Good stay for the money spent. Verything worked. Room was clean. Room has microwave and mini frig.
