Near T stop. Location is fantastic. Room really clean. Small but great for one. Would stay again if in Boston. Staff is wonderful. Allowed early check in and late check out. Great about directions and recommendations.

We had a wonderful stay! This was our second visit to The Chandler Inn. If available, we chose to stay here. My only recommendation is upgrading some of the linens! The staff and location are great!

The room was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a hotel to put your things and only sleep in fairly comfortably, while you do other things in the city then stay here. Not exactly the best place to hang out in (rooms are small and basic, but clean and beds comfortable enough). Great location for downtown

Small room and bathroom but clean and comfortable. Neighborhood had some good restaurants especially Masa around the block and you could walk to anywhere in the city.

The Chandler is a small (8 stories, 8 rooms per floor) hotel about 2 block from Back Bay Station in the South End neighborhood. The rooms have all been completely redone and, while small, are very nice. Each has a clock radio with iPod dock and a flat screen TV with DirectTV access. There's also a small work desk with a very unusual chair. The lobby has a coffee machine (no coffee maker in room) and ice machine. Most of the ground floor is occupied by Fritz, a bar that also serves a good brunch on weekends. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood, a wine/beer store on Tremont St. about 5 blocks away, and a 7-11 around the corner. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. This is not the Copley Square Hotel, but you also don't pay the Copley Square prices.

I picked this hotel solely based off the reviews. This hotel was extremely deceiving from following the reviews. Pros: I enjoyed the quant look of the hotel because it's an old building with only 56 rooms. Me and my boyfriend stayed here for one night because we went to see the Red Sox play the Yankees. The location was phenomenal, there's a parking garage within walking distance from the hotel which the hotel gives you a coupon for $23 for 24 hours. There's a restaurant/bar down stairs, didn't have the pleasure of going but the bar scene seemed to be pretty good. Was on the second floor and didn't hear any commotion from it either. I also thought the room was pretty clean. Cons: However, the rooms were ridiculously small that it felt like a small bedroom not a hotel room at all. The bathroom was small as well everything was on top of each other. When going to the bathroom your knees practically touch the sink. I'm not very tall only 5'5". Comparable to an air plane bathroom. The bed was horrifyingly painful to sleep on, hard as a rock. There was also something banging outside sounded like it was by our window on and off; and the radiator was rattling on and off all night as well. Was not the best stay at a hotel I've ever had, and personally I recommend you spend just a little extra to stay somewhere else. This place was not worth the price at all, very disappointed.

This hotel had great and friendly service. I would absolutely stay here again. The only downside was that the bathroom was tiny.

So glad I found an affordable place to stay for my conference, as even the conference rate at the main hotel was much too high. The twenty-minute walk to the conference was through a delightful neighborhood of row houses and shops, safe both day and evening. My room was small but accommodating and modern, as was the very contemporary bathroom. The staff was very friendly and the modern coffee and tea maker in the lobby was a much better idea than having a small coffee pot in the room. And the room was spotless.I have recommended it some friends who are planning on visiting Boston.

Although the rooms are small, they are not exactly tiny. The room was very clean and had new appointments and furnishings. Hotel staff was very helpful.

It is convenient and quite place I really enjoyed my time.

Came across the Chandler Inn on a recent business trip. Has easy proximity to Back Bay Station, which is crucial for getting around on the Boston T. Stylish rooms with square footage on par, for boutique hotels in this category. I was really satisfied, and have already booked myself to stay there, on my next several business trips to Boston.

Really modern look of the rooms! Flat screen TVs and beautiful picture of Boston at Sunset hanging over the bed. If you are lucky you can find a parking spot on Chandler street but this is hard to come by since 1/2 of the street is handicap parking (so ready the signs and arrows carefully). They do however offer you a coupon to park in a nearby parking garage (walking distance) at a discounted rate of $19 per 24 hours which is a good deal. Hot beverages are available in the lobby. Also within reasonable walking distance of Copley Square, Newbury Street and Back Bay train station. I highly recommend this place.

Very small room and the smallest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel!! And I travel everywhere. Ok if you are single, on budget and don't want to spend ant time in room except to sleep!!

This hotel is in a great location, a cute neighborhood, within walking distance of Boston Commons and other areas to sightseeing. It was very clean, the room, lobby and halls, great coffee/tea making in lobby with a variety of free hot drinks available. Room was small, two single beds, would have liked two double beds, and bathroom is tiny, but it was too cute to worry about that, unless it creates a problem for other visitors, I liked it very much. It was a good choice for one night on New Years Eve cause we were only there to sleep and it was very convenient to Amtrak and where we wanted to visit.

I have stayed at this gem on a couple of occasions, and am never disappointed. Love the decor, everyone is always friendly, and it's just an easy, unpretentious, attractive and NICE place to stay. If I could recommend one thing, it would be softer beds. Still, though....I will book again when in town.

The Chandler Inn Hotel is really a good deal. I spent 9 days there attending a conference at Hynes Convention Centre. The walk to Hynes is about 15-20 mins, but there is also a direct bus (no. 9). Newbury street and Boston Common is only 5 mins away and so is the nearest subway station. I also walked to downtown and that was only 20 min. The hotel is open 24 hours and has a nice range of complementary coffee and hot drinks available. The staff are really welcoming, friendly and helpful. I had a lot of stuff sent to the hotel from Amazon and they were very sweet about it. I stayed in the Boutique Queen room and found the room quite nice. The bed is comfortable, there are two bed side table and a small desk, HD-TV, clothes hanger, big mirror and a nice bathroom. The downstairs bar makes great brunch and next door coffee shops has great food. The area is safe and nice. Only bad thing was that, I think there was some air in the radiator making a big noise, but it went away. I did not ask them to fix it either, so I can't complain.

I hesitate to let everyone know about this gem. It's a nice cosy hotel, unpretentious, and in a nice neighborhood. It's half the cost of hotels around Copley Square. Wi-fi coverage is good and free.

This wasn't a bad place, but it wasn't very good either. The room was the smallest that I have had in a long time. There wasn't really a desk or a place to work. The staff was indifferent at best with one exception. He was very helpful but others seemed to be annoyed that I was asking them questions.

The hotel is located in a nice quaint neighborhood, very convenient for train travel and conferences in downtown. Room was small (bathroom tiny) but cleverly organized, with a very comfortable bed. Free tee and coffee available, but no bar or breakfast. The lobby is very small and gets crowded.

The Hotel Chandler in Boston Ma. was a real delight to stay at. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were pleasant and helpfull. Would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.

The Chandler Inn has a convenient location, less than 10 minutes walk to Back Bay Station. The room was clean and everything worked. The bathroom was tiny with no space to put anything - we kept our toothbrushes in the bedroom! Light sleepers might find noise from the Massachusetts Turnpike a nuisance. Try the Perk Cafe round the corner in Berkeley Street for breakfast; has character and good food, but they don't take cards.

I enjoyed most aspects of my stay. The neighborhood is residential and there were small, inexpensive restaurants nearby. Quirks: the windows don't provide much soundproofing, there's no closet; instead, there's a clothes rack on the wall. The bathroom is compact and well-designed, except that the shower gets the floor wet by the sink. The sink is fine for the average guy, but some might call it tiny. The TV is pretuned with a lot of shopping channels, and others that you have to pay for. There is no desk, only a table that isn't at the right height or in the right place to use the chair, which forces you to sit on the bed - no back support. But the front desk personnel were always helpful and friendly. It's about one mile from Copley Plaza which is a nice distance to walk to conferences or events in that area. And the Back Bay is very pleasant. Overall thumbs up.

Overall, not a bad hotel. Great location. My only complaint was that the bathroom was not adequate. The shower stall takes up half the space and the other half contains the toilet and a very small sink. Also, there was no safe in the room to store your important documents and valuables.

During my recent stay in Boston, I was traveling by train and visiting friends who live in the South End, and the Chandler Inn is very convenient for both purposes. The hotel is a five-minute walk from the Back Bay Amtrak station, and it's located in the charming South End neighborhood. I had stayed at the Chandler several times many years ago, and I was delighted to find that the hotel had been completely redecorated since then. My room was comfortable and quiet, the bed was nicely firm, and the staff friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very nice, and conveniently located to things to do. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. Woke up every morning with a stiff neck.

The Chandler Inn is friendly clean and comfortable and ideally situated for access to all of Bostons attractions.

Tastefully decorated, good location, clean, friendly staff, all and all a great place.

Great alternative to name-brand hotels for business travelers. Comfortable, clean and new with good service. Super convenient to Back Bay train station makes it easy in and out.

Contemporary style hotel for those who don't care to spend time in a hotel and would rather be outside. Without question the best location for those who aren't "touristy" by nature.
