The hotel was clean and convenient. That said, I called the hotel prior to booking the reservation to ensure that they had a DVD player, which was essential to our girls weekend. The gentleman I spoke with assured me that they were in the rooms and could be requested at the front desk. Not only did we not have a DVD player in the room they were unable to provide us with one when we requested at the front desk. This was highly disappointing as we would have made other arrangements had we known.

The bathroom was not clean! The venting system in the bathroom did not work, which caused moisture to linger on the walls. We had to have the cleaning staff to come and "re-clean" it! The did give us complementary self parking for the weekend. Upon checking out, we do a thorough check to make sure we're not leaving any personal items. During our search we found a pair of Puma shoes under the bed skirt, some weave near the other bed, and a belt behind the dresser/TV. This turned my stomach even more...I was left to ponder--"Just how clean was our room?" My family and I will never stay at the Crowne again!

Great location. Walking distance to all of San Antonio's major attractions. Only problem was the $10 a day fee for wifi in the room is excessive.

We found the hotel to be very old, but it was clean. The staff was friendly and the location was good. We also left our iPad by mistake and when we went back to get it, they had it ready and we had no issues with it being stolen.

Everything was fine. Thanks for a great weekend. We will be back and the thought ofstaying with you will be there. I will be looking at other prices and locations but Im completely satisfied.

It was a wonderful stay exelent staff. The only thing that was a pain is when you stay on the top floor they need an elevator that services only the top floors I waited 10 min for the elevator then had to stop on every floor on the way down. Also the hotels.com staff needs to be clear on parking this is the second hotel I have used them floor only to be suprized by an additional 20.00 dollar plus additional parking fee when I arrive.

every year my friends and I head up to San Antonio for fiesta. this hotel is convenient because it is right on the river walk and fairly priced compared to surrounding competition. My only issue is that when I checked in the gentleman who checked us in had a huge attitude like he was having a horrible day. No customer service skills what so ever. Everything else was fine but when you don't get treated like you should after spending hundreds of dollars you kind of question whether you will stay again. I am debating whether to stay here again or not for that reason.

MY STAY AT THE CROWNE WAS WORTH THE PRICE WE PAID. OVERALL GREAT EXPERIENCE, WILL TRY AGAIN. THE STAFF NICE AND HELPFUL. THE CROWNE PLAZA WAS LOCATED SLIGHTLY AT THE FAR END OF THE RIVER WALK MAYBE A 10 MIN. WALK. THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN, ROOM SPACIOUS,SERVICE WAS GREAT. NICE BAR AND RESTAURANT.

Bell hops -great. Valets-great front desk - bumbling worthless --checked in fri asked if room avail for second night --OK --later after doing things we wanted to do decided not to stay another night told them about 1100 PM turned in keys next AM --return home to find charged for second night rec go elsewhere.

Only complaint is that when trying to leave at the allotted check out time it is almost impossible to get on the lift if you are below floor 10. One elevator was down, after over a dozen elevator stops that were entirely full, I had to go up before I could go down, just to ensure that I could get a spot on the lift.

The lobby and hotel looks good but room is highly over rated. Old furniture in room and looks outdated.

The elevators were slow and kinda old looking

Nice stay.

The hotel wasn't bad.... Just old and full of kids running around screaming. When we booked this room through Hotels.com we were told we had free parking and a jacuzzi in our room. There was no jacuzzi and we were charged $23 for parking.

We have never stayed a such a wonderful hotel. My husband & teenage son had the most comfortable sleep ever! The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. I will definitely stay and this hotel again and again. The price is very well worth it! Our next vacation is in June so we will be making our reservations within the next few weeks.

We had zero water pressure in our shower. Do not eat at the breakfast Buffett. It was beyond nasty and the employees were rude.

We were looking for something very close and convenient to the river walk and downtown San Antonio because we decided not to rent a car. This hotel fit the bill. It's located right on the river walk, and it's about a 5 minute walk to most of the touristy-areas (and thus all the dining). It's also close enough to walk to downtown San Antonio and the Alamo. The hotel was nice enough, nothing fancy at all, but it was clean. It could use an update, the furnishings were dated looking. The TV was great though, very new and nice, and the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. Compared to the price of the other river walk hotels, it was a good trade-off. The food was also reasonably priced for notoriously expensive hotel food.

Our recent stay at Crowne Plaza on Riverwalk was highly disappointing. The room service was horrible, there was no ice on our floor, and when we asked for ice to be delivered, it was extrmely delayed. Secondly, the location, although it's tail-end of the Riverwalk, the location is far away from the restaurants and the Alamo/Tower of Americas. We had to walk miles to get there. Check-in and Check-out was stressful too, not enough front lobby personnel, so took forever to get going. Lastly, the walkway from the parking garage to get to the front lobby & hotel, was via a long underground walkway, due to the fact that the hotel and parking garage are on opposite streets. Overall, not a pleasant experience. Next time, we're sticking to Grand Hyatt, better rates and definitely better service!!!

this hotel might have been good some years ago, but its super dirty now. the location is on the riverwalk but not near the attractions and next to a bus station filled with homeless.

The hotel is run down and needs some updating. Friendly staff, good location if you want to be out of the craziness of the river walk.Elevators took as long as 20 minutes to come to the floor at times.Had to take the stairs to the 17th floor twice.No hot water for morning showers.

Very disappointed. This appeared to be a nice hotel, but quite frankly I will never stay at the Crowne Plaza again. Air conditioning was poor, no exhaust fans in the bathroom, of the 6 elevators only 2 were operational (we waited for 10 mins before finally walking down 10 flights of stairs with the front desk not aware of a problem). The breakfast buffet was "adequate". If you plan for two couples in one room (two queens) expect only complementary breakfast for only one couple. Very disappointed.

Elevators were broken and when I tried to register the complaint Antoinette decided to call me a liar. Not happy with the stay, service or employees. I was literally trapped on the elevator with an employee and guest of the hotel then to be called names talk about adding insult to injury

Disappointed by the noise (loud banging around 11 p.m. that sounded like trash dumpsters slamming around; then a loud family walked down the hall after midnight. There is NO sound proofing.) Our room didn't have a room service card so the front desk had to send one up. After it hadn't arrived in 15 minutes, I called again and got no answer. Another 5 or so minutes, I called again and was told that "the guy is on his way. He had a few stops and he's only one person." As I stood at the door watching for "the guy", a door across from me eventually opened that had a "staff only" sign and "the guy" handed me two room service cards. It took at least 30+ minutes for this "delivery" across the hall. After all that, the room service info in the room listed an earlier delivery time (6 am) than on the card (6:30), which is when we were leaving. Had the front desk told me this when I first called and specifically asked to have a 6 a.m. breakfast delivery, it would have saved a lot of hassle. For the price, it was NOT worth the cost. In addition to the room rate, we paid around $25 to park in the garage across the street. We travel a LOT with our kid for sports, and the less expensive hotels we've stayed in lately (Courtyard by Marriott, Comfort Inn, among others) have all been quieter and more comfortable than this hote (the restroom is VERY tight for even one person.) I'll definitely make another choice for our next SA stay.

The health club was wonderful - high quality, new treadmills and wonderful view outside. Loud guests in the middle of the night in the hallways was the only downside.

If you like cold showers then you're in luck. We stayed here an entire weekend with no hot water. The front desk staff treated us like the problem and maintenance never did get the water fixed while we were there. Even speaking to a manager did no good, we left frustrated with no resolution to our issue. Their customer service is seriously lacking. Parking is also really inconvenient. If you don't use valet then parking is across the street and getting to the lobby is an ordeal. The elevators take forever so prepare to stand, or take the stairs. This hotel doesn't even offer free wifi either. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable, but that's not enough to ever bring us back. We will be avoiding this hotel chain in the future.

The hotel charged for any and everything! The service was poor and I had to pay for public parking because the hotel did not want to park my pickup in the hotel parking. they charged for wifi and the experience was horrible!!!!!!!!!!!

When I think of a Crowne Plaza I think of above average hotels. This was just average at a decent rate.

The rooms are quite small with minimal amenities (no microwave or refrigerator) for what is expected in a high-rise downtown hotel on the Riverwalk. The boiler went out during our stay, causing us to have one 1 cold shower, and a cold "hot" tub. The front desk was very pleasant and ended up giving us our valet parking for free because of the experience. It was nice to be able to walk to the Riverwalk, downtown, and Alamo Plaza.

I loved the overall ambiance of the hotel and room. The staff was very friendly and helpful...thanks so much to Mr. Westbrook who helped to make the start of my birthday weekend very pleasant. There was one drawback; we called for towels at the front desk and no one ever picked up the phone. We let it ring for at least 10 minutes non-stop. Also, we had leftover food from our dinner but couldn't bring it back with us because there is no fridge or microwave in the rooms. I did bring back my birthday cheesecake but eventually threw it out because it was off temperature, too long. The hotel was packed with a cheerleading competition and we got ready to leave, we had to wait over 6 minutes for an elevator and even longer for a bell hop. We eventually took our own bags down and loaded them ourselves.

Hotel may be located a bit of a walk away from the main riverwalk attractions, but this gives it the bonus of being quiet at night. It is about a 15 minute walk from here to the convention center (and I walk fast). I don't mind a bit of a walk, though, so I don't consider this much of a minus. Room was clean, and well-tended. I read some other review that complained about the rooms being cold, but the first thing I saw upon entering my room was the thermostat, and it functioned perfectly. Not sure what the issue was for that other person. I didn't use many hotel services other than the concierge upon checking in and out, but service was perfect. Be aware that parking is at the end of the block, and that you have to pay for it, as you do for any of the hotels like this. I've stayed at a lot of the riverwalk hotels. Parking is at a premium. Overall, wonderful stay. Comfortable rooms. Just great!
