Central location, good for exploring the surrounding streets and just next to bus central.

the bathroom is very old ,and the room are small

We had a club room, and would recommend this. we used the hotel transfer to their Golden Sands resort too. This is a good option for people who like to visit the beach but dont want to stay at the beach. Great for a short break - would certainly go back!!!! Rooms a bit on the small side, but very clean and comfortable!

Very rigid on check out times.Would not entertain a late (2 Hour) check out.

The staff are excellent and very friendly. Rooms are fine without being over large. The hotel is located next to the local bus station with a free bus around George Town. Good shopping and reasonable food courts nearby as well. Live music 6 nights a week.

Traders Club rooms are nice, and in the afternoon there is complementary food / drinks . Friendly staff Good pool area

the room was not clean. the bath mat was filthy. I tookj a picture of the bath math, so I have proof. the front desk manager went out of her way to correct this serious deficiency and I was most impressed by her. It surprised me that neither the manager nor the general manager found the problem serious enough to deal with it personally, as one would expect in a five star hotel.

We had 9 nights in the hotel. The beds were excellent and the room was clean but the cleaning was not always done properly. The staff was mainly very kind and ready to help. Specially one of the lifequards by the pool. The breakfast was good but the breakfast room was often rather noisy and full of visitors. We enjoyed our stay and the relaxing pool atmosphere.

The hotel is situated adjacent to the local bus station. We could travel cheaply to all parts of the island from there. The hotel facilities were excellent. The restaurant offered delicious foods of a good variety and quality. The swimming pool and gym areas were perfect for our needs. All the hotel staff were polite, helpful and most respectful. We were so happy with the hotel that we extended our original booking of just 3 days to stay 16 nights in total.

This hotel is located among shopping malls. The parking is right below the hotel. Our family stayed in two connecting rooms which are clean and comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly too.

This hotel is an interesting mix of luxe combined with oldish furnishings. It feels luxurious if you just don't look too closely. A nick here and a stain there. But, overall, at the price, we felt it was worth it. It's in a good location. Not absolutely in the most historic part of Georgetown but not that far either. (The E&O hotel was in the historic center if that's what you want.) Overall, in terms of location, I thought it was fine. Cheaper hotels definitely exist nearby but I can't say if they stack up to some of Traders' charms.

I have to say, you know what you get at Traders, so the bar has been set. When it is exceeded, like it was here, then it's just a really nice experience. What a nice hotel, nice staff and nice surroundings. Would stay again for sure. Brilliant.

No issue and very happy with the stay there. Perhaps, the toilet might need a little touch up.

It is an old hotel, seriously in need of an upgrade and the addition of more facilities. The hotel room needs a lot of upgrading, including the bathroom (no detachable shower hose, for e.g.) and the mattress (a bit hard). The basement carpark also needs a lot of upgrading (there is no lift to the carpark, only stairs for e.g.). There were only 2 restaurant outlets, the main cafe on the first level and a Chinese restaurant on the 2nd level. The Brassserie was closed for club members usage only. Even the pool-side cafe was closed. But, the only good thing is that it is conveniently located in the heart of town, food alleys, good shopping, etc.

Traders hotel, Georgetown, is a solid choice- not outstanding but fine for a night or two. The rooms were quite small, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We paid extra for a Club Room, and certainly got our moneys worth with free drinks between 6 and 8! The location is not ideal for a tourist; the hotel is 10-15 minute walk from the old town, and the Komtar centre next door is a 80's concrete monstrosity.

Nothing unexpected. Worn out business hotel. It was conveniently located next to shopping malls. But otherwise I think there are better hotels around.

The hotel is well maintained and the staff very well trained. It is centrally situated and a short taxi ride to most places in Georgetown. The buffet breakfast has both Western and Malaysian fare. However, the breakfast was not included in the price of the standard room which I thought was a bit cheese-spairing. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay.

this hotel provide a very clean and friendly service. the room in a very good condition, especially the bathroom. highly recommended for a comfort stay.

Excellent hotel, really good servie, helpful efficient staff; would definitely return and recommend.

Receptionist in afternoon shift have no service mind and they give me one wrong room key card, we can't open the room and come down to tell him then after he check the card he said " this is another room key" and he say nothing to apologize.

It was just a 3 days trip with my family. The location of the hotel is just perfect for our stay. It takes only 10' by taxi, we can get to heritage walk. All other activities ie. hawker center, spa, reflexology are within 10' walk from hotel. We took a cab to get to Penang Hill and the Ferringi beach to get away from the city crowd. We will definitely go back there one day.

The hotel staff are very friently and good location, will stay in again when travelling in KL.. Regards

Room is very old.badly maintained. More like a 2 to 3 star hotel.

Staff was extremely friendly and informative. Rooms were clean, tidy, and large. Gym was comprehensive and spacious. Highly recommend the hotel. Well done.

The hotel has a great reception area. It is very impressive and welcoming. The rooms were perfect for families and business travelers. The bathrooms were immaculate with all the necessary goodies one would need e.g. razors, combs etc etc. Room were really nice. The breakfast buffet was stunning. There was an enormous choice of foods and we had an absolute ball. All the foods are also halal. ***** for breakfast and service as well. The hotel is in the heart of Georgetown and right next to a big mall if you wish to eat out or do some shopping. The concierge service went out of their way to help us with securing a rental vehicle.

Hotel staff were very helpful and welcoming. Hotel is well located with many sites within walking distances.

The Traders Hotel in Penang was an absolutely beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. Modern fitness facilities and nice pool. The staff was very helpful and the location was close to shopping ad Chinatown.

My family got a surprise in receiving a birthday cake for my husband and daughter in our room on the first night during our stay. We really appreciate the thoughtfulness of the Service Duty Counter manager, who had delighted her customers. Good job!

Nothing was horrible, but nothing was great. The bathroom drain was slow and they even had a warning etched into the wall, explaining that it had to be that way, otherwise the bathroom would flood. Ick. Old soap scum stained the tub caulking. Ick. The strip of decorative bed linen that was placed towards the food of the bed (you know, that long one) had a couple dark spots on it that looked like old, smeared blood. Ick. But the actual bedding seemed clean. Bed was comfy (on the firm-side, but that seems to be all across Asia). Free water was given. There was free internet. The location wasn't great, but I guess nor was the rest of George Town. Overall, average average. If I had to pay more than I did, then I would lower this rating.

Based on a previous customer's review we booked a club room and oh was it worth every penny! All Club rooms have access to the club lounge facilities - lounge, internet access, breakfast in quiet surroundings, attentive and plentiful staff, tea/coffee etc available free any time of the day and the best feature were the cocktails and canapes 6-8 pm every night. The hotel in general was very clean and comfortable although the evening entertainment in the bar was a little dire! We used the pool and gym and both were what you would expect from a 4* hotel. Whilst touring Asia we visited a number of places and hotels and this was a memorable hotel although I am not sure it would be so if we had not taken a club room.

We 4 had a great stay here. We had 2 rooms. They are good quality - clean, cool & modern enough. We only slept there. We had Trader's club rooms so could make use of the lounge and had free drinks and canapes from 6pm daily and also entitled us to free breakfast in the main restaurant. The brekfast was OK - not the best, but reasoable. It is very busy so food turns over quickly and is fresh. Purpose of our visit was holiday and to revisit Penang after 45 years! In this sense, staying in Georgetown is essential. It has a lot of colour, culture and history and nothing is more than a rickshaw away. There are good food courts near the hotel but taxis are abundant too. The free shuttle bus to Batur Ferengghi is a great feature to use the lovely resort facilies at Shangri La and experience the night markets. Staff at hitel were very professional and obliging. I would go back there again.

Having been travelling around Malaysia for 2 weeks we decided to trewat ourselves to a hotel with swimming pool. Although not the cheapest luxury hotel available it had the best reviews so we decided to go for it. Room was very comfortable - first soft pillows we'd had in 2 weeks but sink leaked slightly and bath plug had to be pushed in manually. Pool area very nice and much appreciated in the heat! Wre checked out in the morning but the hotel let us use their shuttle bus to the golden sands resort on batu ferrenghi, also owned by shangri la. The beach isn ice but smells of petrol from all the jet skis so we stayed by the gorgeous swimming pool for the afternoon.Recommended as you have use of facilities at 3 resorts (traders and teh 2 beach resorts)when staying at one hotel!

The hotel is conveniently located near the Komtar building, which is a great landmark for finding your way back! Reception, restaurant, bar, concierge and housekeeping staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food in the Islander restaurant was good and very reasonable for a 4 star hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I didn't get a chance to use the pool (lots of interesting sightseeing in Penang!) but my friend did and was happy with it.

中规中矩的酒店，就如它的名字，比较商务的感觉。给的高层，但房间比较小，就在电梯口。酒店后面就是光大车站，去边度坐车都很方便。酒店有酒店有免费wi-fi，网速还可以。酒店每天提供两支水，也有电水壶可以自己烧水喝。

Cet hotel est bien situe,proche de la gare routiere,des shopping centres....Malgre l'agitation de la rue bruit,pollution.La chambre est un peu petite mais agreable,un seul bemol pour la salle de bain;le rideau de douche et les traces de moisissure.

10年ぶりの宿泊だったがフロントの日本語が懐かしくてチェックインはそこで頼んだ。 期限切れのゴールデンサークルメンバーカードを渡したが、対応は完璧。（日本語で） 良い気分でチェックインできた。 ホテルからジャランペナンを歩いて10分くらいの所にフードコートができていた。 味もショータイムも抜群。 今度はプライベートでラササヤンとセットで行きたい。
