The hotel is situated far away from everything. The almost free shuttle bus leaves once an hour, but is often full, and returning latest at 2220. So be prepared to take taxis from Rome center. The hotel is not very stylish, with old russian/sovjetian look in style and in reception, and receptionists are but to the point, but not very friendly. You don`t feel at home here... Old carpets in the rooms. Many small things are in bad shape, somethings even broke, and you can`t help wonder if the economic crisis hit this hotel worse than others. For instance, one of the shuttle buses broke down with brakes that were entirely wore down. We had to change bus!The pool is closed until mid-summer. So: I would not stay here unless I had a car, some children that need a pool, and the pool is open! By the way. Nice spa, but Why does it cost a fortune to use it. This should definately be included in the room rent!!!

I found the staff to be very helpful. I had my credit card stolen while riding the metro and hurried back to the hotel so I could report it as soon as possible. . When I told the person at reception they looked up the mastercard phone number for me, made the call and got me to an english speaking person, with no charge. They were great, would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel with clean room, but with very thin wall, noisy at times. You could hear every words your neighbor was saying. Free good breakfast but remain the same all four days we were there. Located in the park away from city center, hotel provided shuttle service every hour on the hour to the city where you could catch a subway with a 8 minutes walk. The front desk is snob, didn't want to make the phone call for me and force me to make call from the room. Lucky I used google to make all my calls so that are no charges. Internet is free but limit to 2 hours per day. Hotel has buffet at 28 Euro which is not bad consider the high cost of food outside. Expect the restaurants charges 3 times more than what we paid in the USA. And you must order drinks including water.

Excellent service and facilities. Top quality food at a reasonable price. The hotel is situated in the middle of the bigest park in Rome. Although it's slightly outside of the city, there is a free hourly shuttle bus service to the Vatican.

The staff is very attentive even if things get hectic in the breakfast room. The minibus service to the Vatican is great but make sure to book a day ahead as the bus is always full during peak times in the morning and afternoon. Breakfast buffet is above average for Italian standards. The rooms are starting to get a little bit tarnished but are still very comfortable. A turn-off is that the use of the gym and the spa are subject to a very high daily extra charge. Also the dining options at night are limited to an average buffet or room service, so eat in the city.

The hotel itself is not bad. Guest corridors and carpet is very dated and unkept. Our room was super dated and no heat. When asked about heat, we were told they do not turn it on until November. Hunh? But we're freezing!

The staff was nice and the distance from the center of Rome was tolerable, given the price. The condition of the room and the hallways was not good, however. There were holes in the drapery, stains in the carpet, and the balcony was filthy. We had two rooms and this goes for both. If they renovated the place it would be great but for now the deteriorated condition puts it in the 2 star range.

Food very expensive. Spa expensive. Reception staff very rude.

The hotel was about 5 miles outside Rome this was not a problem due to the free shuttle bus service provided by the hotel. The staff were friendly people to deal with and the room was clean. The breakfast`s had plenty of food choices and you could eat as much as you wanted, The outside pool area was quite and relaxed and very clean, with clean towels and swimming caps provided. We had a fabulous time in Rome and having a nice hotel to retire to when your day end guaranteed our break was one to remember

Las Vegas style large rooms and pool! Away from the bustle of Rome. Approximately 1 kilometer walk to a tram that takes you into town. Beautiful hotel with an amazing breakfast!!!

We stayed in Rome for three nights. What a wonderful experience this was to arrive at this beautiful hotel. The staff was pleasant. Roberto, who was most helpful, checked us in earlier than expected after he saw how worn out we were from travel. The room was extremely comfortable after a minor glitch with the air conditioning. The location was convenient to Vatican City and the shuttle service was a plus. The only negative is there is not much within walking distance but I knew that when booking. However, if travelling in conjunction with the shuttle service then it is easy to navigate around the center of Rome with the Metro. Would love to return to this hotel if ever in Rome again.

If you like to mix one of the great cities of the world and a beautiful resort experience, this is for you. This hotel is a ten minute taxi ride from the center of Rome, but for this inconvenience you get luxury at a bargain price, quiet and beautiful surroundings, a gorgeous pool, spa facilities, a playground for small kids, and even excellent clay court tennis for free at the neighboring tennis club. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the Vatican every hour on the our that you must make advance reservations to go on. We found the taxis more convenient and the cost of those well within the savings on our two rooms.

Very nice hotel just outside centre of Rome. Free parking, lovely location. Nice spacious rooms with balconies. Large outdoor pool and sun-deck area. Breakfast, included in our room rate, was excellent - very wide choice, good quality produce and plentiful. Hotel restaurant was expensive, with poor choice for non-meat/fish eaters. Very friendly and extremely helpful staff (except the extremely grumpy and decidely unhelpful head breakfast man who decided he didn't want us to sit outside at the tables on the terrace). Room air con very quiet and did not turn room into icebox. Hourly free shuttle bus to and from centre. Seats are limited because of the size of the bus and therefore it is almost essential that you book them in advance.........the day before if you want to use it at peak times. Would recommend unreservedly.

Nice hotel, but far from the city, but there is a free shuttle to and from the city, it's about a 15min ride only. The shuttle takes you to the Vatican, and you can take the metro/subway from there to other areas of Rome. Rooms are nice and clean. The shuttle last runs at 10pm from the hotel, and 10:20pm from the Vatican back to the hotel.

This is a very good hotel. staff very friendly, rooms very clean, and top service. The only thing is it is a little difficult to find. Apart from that there is nothing at all wrong I can say. Will always book this hotel when I go to Rome.

A perfect location for getting away from central Rome in the heat of July and August. A curtesy bus took us into Rome each morning and returned us to the hotel after lunch. We lazed by the large outdoor pool, and returned to Rome in the evening, again free bus for hotel guests. I believe it's the perfect location for visiting Rome but only with the free bus travel which takes 15 mins from hotel to Rome (Vatican). Rooms were lovely and the air conditioning worked perfectly. I'll use the same hotel again.

I stayed in atahotel pamphili for 3 nights with my wife for our anniversary .. the service was great and the room was clean and good with balcony .. we had a free breakfast entree , the buffet was ok .. we visited the spa it looked very nice and clean but we didn't have the chance to try it .. thefree bus service was very useful and it was on time .. I would stay in atahotel if i visited rome again

If you want to get away from the city and all the tourists this is a great alternative. The room was well kept and clean, the balcony ok, bathroom nice and clean, breakfast typical mediterranean, lunch and dinner too expensive (28 euro p.p), instead go to old town (over the bridge from the Vatican) and try the seafood or lamb instead.

This was our first visit to Rome and the Atahotel provided an excellent base for our 4 day sightseeing holiday. The free shuttle bus to the Vatican was a real plus and we used it every day - obviously at peak times its advisable to prebook. We also made plenty of use of the outdoor pool, sun terrace and gym. The hotel was clean and airy with a modern feel and the staff were extremely courteous and efficient. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and have already recommended it to friends. We would definitely stay there again.

Rome is beautiful and stressy at the same time. The best thing to combine both is to stay in a place where you have everything to relax and gain the power to enjoy the next day in a overcrowded, beutiful historic city: Hotel Pamphili with great comfort, good food, phantastic pool and a very friendly and free transport system to the Vatican every 20 Minutes. We will be back

Having read reviews i had mixed feelings about this hotel but can say from our experience at what i would consider busy time of year (july) that it was almost perfect. Room was lovely, very comfortable and had lovely pool view. Shuttle service was great - we had no problems booking and getting on -- we never used it late in evening so maybe depends on time- we found it easier to get around from busstop near vatican - could walk to the metro easily. Others reviews have critiscised that only one drop off but i suspect thats out of hotels control as they use a dedicated tourist drop off bustop. Reception was always helpful and friendly. We had 4 towels for 4 of us so had no problems with that. Pool staff were friendly and provided towels and swimming hats for the guests - so no wet towels in the bedroom. With the heat of rome pool was a bonus when you got back. There is nothing nearby to walk to so you would have to go back to rome to eatt - shuttle bus runs till about 10pm - but as only 15 mins away - could easily get taxi back if wanted to stay out late. We ate in the hotel one evening - it was OK but feklt it was a little overpriced for what it was - they did a buffet but compared to lots of other hotels which we've stayed that do buffet there wasn't loads of choice. Lots of salads, one bowl bread on each table, 4 hot main course choices - 2 pasta, one fish, one meat and potatoes, dessert was fruit and mousse only. Didn't really fancy going back - would have done - if had more hot and dessert choices or option to choose of a menu. Breakfast was reasonable - lots of fresh fruit which was nice. Little niggle - We weren't asked if we wanted coffee the first day but decided we didn't ant so didn't ask, the second day we asked for coffee as looked like other people had got it served and was told it was from machine - it was absolutely foul and on the last day we were asked and served lovely coffee. All in all - would go back as we really liked it.

Beautiful Hotel. One of the best in Italy especially for the price. Hotel shuttle runs every hour, all day to St. Peters. Extremely convenient for sight seeing. Room was excellent, good size and so was the bathroom. Absolutely no complaints. Wish we had more time to relax at the beautiful pool. Hotel clerks were very helpful with directions and questions. Room internet was not working but there was free internet in the lobby.

I will be completely truthful about this review since I have no conflicts of interest. The hotel is great in terms of cleanliness, free breakfast, nice dinner buffet (28 euros), swimming pool, shuttle service to downtown region. HOWEVER, the one caveat is the terrible service at the front desk...these people get SOOO annoyed anytime you ask a question or need some assistance with something. They just want to get rid of you everytime you either call them or try to talk to them as if they have no time for you. Even though the hotel services were good, I just cant be stuck at a hotel where I dont feel comfortable enough to walk up and ask the reception desk a question. If you are very familiar with Italy and will not need to ask any questions, this hotel is good although the shuttle bus gets FULL very quickly and you always have to wait. There are no restaurants in the area so your stuck eating at the hotel if you are not out and about. Otherwise, its an okay hotel, nothing fancy. Personally, I will not go back to this hotel ever!!!

Atahotel Villa Pamphili is a lovely hotel but note that it is located 20 minutes drive from the center of Rome. The hotel does provide a shuttle bus service to and from St Peter's square but note that it needs to be reserved in advance. The biggest drawback of the hotel was the food prices which are very expensive. The hotel bar is also expensice for drinks. And as the hotel is a little bit remote, you don't have much choice if you want to eat locally. Overall I wouldn't stay here again because of its proximity to the city center but mainly because of the prices for meals.

This Hotel is just 20 min. outside of Rome, beautiful country setting, quiet. Shuttle bus every hour to Rome, ver easy & convenient. Drops you at St.peters Bascilica. Lots of shopping & great restaurants close by. Breakfast is great. Eggs,bacon,fruit, cereal. toast, cold meats,cheese,& muffins & all kinds of sweet cakes. Dinner is expensive, so we went into town. No rest, close for walking.

We were given a room which was very nice when we first arrived. Two hours after our arrival, having unpacked and gotten comfortable, we received a call telling us there was a "serious problem with the water and we would have to move". There was NO problem with the water and no one else in our hallway moved from their room. The manager at the desk was rude and condescending. I will tell all my friends to avoid this hotel.

The accommodations were beautiful and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was the best we had in Italy. However, it was difficult to find the hotel, and we took the Metro, then a bus, and walked the last, not aware that we'd be climbing a hill on a narrow street. Once there, there was a shuttle to get into the city center, but it only went to the Vatican, and only ran once an hour, and you had to make reservations and plan well to get back on time for the trip back. If I'd been more familiar with the area I'd have been better able to plan, but that did not help with this trip. Also, there were no nearby restaurants, and the hotel bar and restaurant were expensive.

We really liked our stay in the hotel. It is a good value for money. Built in green lush surroundings it is far from hustle of Rome. But not too far. Hotel has an effiecient bus service. Even if u miss the miss bus taxis and public transport not far away. Hotel has good recreational facilities too. Breakfast is very delicious and bacons are highly recommended. Staff is very nice and friendly. And everything in hotel is well organized.

Nice hotel, helpful staff. Courtesy bus excellent but always book the day before. Spa, worth the 20 euros each for a special treat. Breakfast excellent - lots of choices. On the downside its too far to walk in and out of the town centre. Get the hotel staff to book your taxi to the airport - its cheaper! Bed was sooo comfortable!

Good service, appreciated shuttle to city center, desk clerks arranged medical assistance. Very pleasant bartender. Nice balcony and surrounding park. Enjoyed breakfast and buffet.

Nice hotel, decent size rooms (considering it is in Rome), free Shuttle and free parking (very rare in Rome), and clean. I cannot say anything about breakfast or anything else because we stayed only one night and we left th next day very early in the morning. For the price, this is one of the better choices to stay in Rome. The shuttle times are every hour and it is not easy to walk from the hotel anywhere else. So, consider this before you book. If you don't have a problem waiting for the Shuttle, this is the right choice.

I loved the pool ! - great location to go for a morning run too. OK hotel, OK value for money Out of Town slightly, but shuttle bus Quick access from airport OK wi-fi, breakfast, bar, etc..

A hotel to recommend.. lovely pool and breakfast excellent. The staff friendly and helpful and no problem with it's location... a 10 minute courtesy bus ride to The Vatican. With an alternative payable bus on offer to The Forum we really had no problems with transport and a late taxi back from the centre in the evening costs about EUR15. Our only problem sometimes - no snack foods available in the hotel and the room service is expensive. We would use it again.

The hotel is excellent. It is in the middle of a place with trees, water, lanscape and quiet!!! The breakfast is great. Everything is clean and shiny. Large rooms with Landscape. About 20 minutes drive to the center of rome and all tourist attractions. Most recommended for families with Children and a car! Very close to the Leonardo DaVinchi airport - about 15 minute drive

Do not try to walk to this hotel from the bus station, especially in the summer. You should probably catch a cab from the train station.

Very hard to find hotel. Internet in room is on the room TV which cost 6 Euro at the time we stayed did not work and was told to use the wi-fi for our own computer which cost 22 euro at the time we stayed. The evening front desk guy, I didnt get his name (unfortunately he didnt where his name tag) was not helpful nore very friendly, Also, be careful if you take their shuttle bus to the Vatican because on the way back they dont adhere to there own schedule and sometimes dont wait and you may miss it.

The hotel is being refurbished and we booked it really cheaply you can see the price will go up but we loved the hotel and the breakfast was included.Tthe swimming pool is great lovely sun beds and towels .THe shuttle bus into the vatican is great and saves a lot of travelling time . THere are no restauarants near but with the free bus it doesnt matter.The bus is every hour and last one back 10.15pm but a taxi is only about 10euros. Really enjoyed my time there

This hotel is on the outskirts of Rome. There is nothing within walking distance-NOTHING. The only way in or out is by expensive cab or the hotel shuttle. The shuttle runs once an hour and if it fills up you have to wait another hour. It is a HUGE hotel with only a 20 person shuttle. Twice we were unable to ride the shuttle and had to fork over a large sum of cash for a cab. The room was great with a large bath, balcony and nice view. Air conditioning was a plus as well as we were there in July. The hotel also has a beautiful large pool which was quite a treat. They were in the midst of construction and there was a sign that in a few months(October 2010?) there would be a fee for use of the pool. The breakfast buffet is free and you can get 1 dinner plate for only 11 Euros.

Clean well run hotel. All staff spoke excellent english. Excellent pool. Wonderful common area decks and patios. Room had very nice patio with table and chairs. Free daily shuttles are offered to the nearest Metro station (ending at @ 10PM) Concierge service was very couteous and prompt The continental breakfast choices were varied and very good for the complimentary breakfast. The ONLY negative was the distance to sites when taking the Metro was not convenient. Taxi fare to central sites was reasonable, but the ability to obtain taxi service when out in Rome is uneven. Late nights in the central Rome area could present problems unless return transpotation was pre-arranged. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Friendly staff, a really nice swimming pool and the evening buffet in the restaraunt was very good. Its away from the major attractions but an hourly shuttle bus to the local metro station meant it was easy to get into the city centre. I would happily go back

The hotel is great and most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable and the restaurant had a nice menu...a little pricey, but good. The breakfast that was included with our room was wonderful. It started our day out great. We also took advantage of the shuttle everyday; it left us off close to the Vatican, which allowed us to take our tours. The hotel is nestled on a hilltop with beautiful views. I would recommend Atahotel Villa Pamphili to other travelers.
