Wonderful !

The location was great, the room was very nice. The walls were too thin, I could hear everyone in the hall and everything that happened outside. It had to be one of the loudest rooms I have ever stayed in. Sleeping was hard to come by...

Clean room, nice and helpful staff and excellent service! We just stayed two nights, but since the location is so good and the hotel is very close to the National Mall we could walk to all the important places!

Great location just two blocks north of The White House. Definitely an old-style hotel but that's to be expected in historic D.C. Soundproofing isn't great, so the farther from the elevator the better. Fortunately we did not spend enough time in the hotel for this to be a bother. Could have used one more trash can for the vanity area. While the room rates are very competitive for the location (especially after a hotels.com coupon) be prepared to spend a pretty penny on valet parking and breakfast buffet.

The hotel staff was great. The rooms were spacious and clean.

The hotel was wonderful. The room was spacious, clean. Beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was modern. The kids loved the flat screen tv! The only thing I didnt like was parking was 42$/day. I may have missed that in the fine print but it would have been nice to have the info clearly stated.

Within walking distance to all the sites. Be prepared to be nickel and dimed for everything, but probably no different than any other downtown hotel. Great breakfast!

The overall experience was very good. We would like to have had an additional hour for checkout at 2PM, because we were attending an event that required us to stay beyond the customary check out time. I wish the exercise room would have been open later than 8 PM since we didn't return to our room until about 7:30PM.

Just a great place, and service was excellent. you can not find a better location!!!

My bathroom mirror was broken, the phone wasn't working, the coffee creamers were expired... there was noisy construction downstairs. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but these little details really surprised me.

Loong checkin line even at early evening arrival. Long checkout line. Parking more expensive than a day's car rental; &15 charge for the fitness center. Won't be back.

Nice hotel and clean. Only negative was that hotel was under construction. Looking forward to coming back after remodel.

The hotel was great. The only reason that I placed a lower score for condition of the hotel was because they were doing construction in the lobby. The staff was very outgoing, and always wanting to help. It is only two blocks from Farragut North Metro stop that really made getting around D.C. easier. I would definitely stay their in the future.

My family and I had a 0715 am appointment to tour the White House on 12/23/2011, so we took a chance and booked this hotel. Wow, we pleasantly surprised! You could see the White House from the front of the hotel.It was a 10-15 minute walk from hotel to White House. We weren't too thrilled with having to pay $42.00 to park our vehicle, but you have to just do it sometimes! From the valet attendants to the front desk, all were friendly. We were given a very nice corner room that was clean and well furnished. Nothing seemed worn as well. The hot water could have been a little hotter for our taste, though. The hotel restaurant does need to add a few things to their dinner menu if you have have teens. We ended up eating outside of the hotel for this reason. The concierge was really helpful with this . The next morning when we checked out, the concierge checked our suitcases for us as would be not leaving right away due to our tours( we did the U.S. Capitol as well) This was a big help to us. All in All , this is a very nice clean, safe hotel that I would highly recommend if you are visiting Washington, D.C.

You will notice that the hotel rooms are small and dated, but you cannot beat the location (few blocks from the white house). The room was not as clean as we had hoped, but we were only there for one night. I would recommend this hotel for the price, but if you find a better deal and good location, then take it.

We had an Executive King suite for NYE and it was very comfortable. The bathrooms and bedroom were very clean. We will definitely come back to this hotel.

The hotel was great. Stayed there for NYE, everything was awesome about it. A few days later, however, a temporary authorized charge for 75 dollars appeared on my credit card statement. Tried contacting the hotel to find out the reason. No one there was able to explain the charge and they kept sending me in loops from department to department, most of which never picked up the first or second time I contacted them. Issue is still unresolved. I checked out on time, left the room in decent conditions. Yeah, I didn't make the beds, but I wouldn't think that is the reason for the charge. A little annoyed. Maybe the charge will disappear as quietly as it appeared on my card statement. Maybe someone at the Hilton will finally be able to answer my question as to why it appeared. Until then, I'm certainly going to think twice before reserving a room there again.

the spa closed way too early n you would think they would of had a pool or a hot tub seeing how nice the hotel was but unfortunetly they didnt not have a pool nor a hot tub

This was my first time staying at the Capital Hilton in DC and it was great! The hotel staff was very nice and the location was perfect. My room was clean and I had the best angus burger I have ever had!

Room was reasonably clean, but could have been a little cleaner. One bathroom light was out our entire 3-day stay, and we did not get a bath mat after the first day. Pillows were also too mushy, but bet was comfortable. Hotel's rented parking garage had operational problems, but hotel valet staff were as accommodating as they could be. Overall not bad, but overpriced for what you get. Also, I've stayed in much nicer Hiltons.

A great location to visit all the sights. Metro station on the doorstep. an amazing breakfast. Great hotel but we got a very good deal because it was Labour Day weekend and Washington was quiet. Hotel was 5 star and could not fault it for anything.

I didn't check into the hotel until 11:00 pm but felt perfectly safe to walk the 2 1/2 blocks to the White House. Washington is a fun place to walk around at night, especially the monuments on the mall. This is a perfect hotel for that as well as day time travels. I was only in the hotel for 8 hours and left at 9:00 the next morning.

The staff were extremely nice, made me feel like I was a regular. Definitely a recommended hotel, I'll visit it again in less than a month.

Good Service. The conceirege was very good in guiding me to the right places and provided good insight. The Rooms were big and clean. Breakfast was excellent

Spent one night, Labor Day weekend. Staff was courteous and helpful. Restaurant being renovated but breakfast available in lobby lounge. Close to White House and able to walk to museums and monuments.

Amazing location for downtown sightseeing. Closest Metro stop is McPherson Square. Recent renovation accounted for nice interior. Bed comfort wasn't awesome. Bath fan was dirty. Service was par excellance.

Chose this Hilton for its location, although it is not as close to the White House as its map indicates. The location ended up being not a perfect fit for us as we did a lot of touring on buses, all of which picked up people closer to the White House, which was about 7 blocks away - and we made numerous trips there in 100-degree heat :-) Hotel was a bit tired looking, but clean. Room spacious, quiet, very comfortable. Great price. Staff very accommodating - when our Internet code to access free WI-FI in the public area didn't work, they gave us free Internet for our stay. When they had to shoo us along from the continental breakfast that came with our room, they gave us a coupon for a free breakfast in the main lobby restaurant. Friendly staff, although concierge was not very knowledgeable about places to eat - we were looking for a "local's" opinion, but he kept steering us to a list of restaurants the hotel hands out. Would recommend to others, but if we visit DC and want to be closer to the memorials and tour bus stops, we'd choose another location.

Very updated rooms and baths. Restaurant is delicisous with some of the best food and service we have had!

My husband, son and I stayed at the Capital Hilton for an overnight weekend visit and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. We had asked for a room with 2 queen beds but we didn't arrive to check in until well after check in time so they didn't have any queen beds left, but they upgraded us to an executive suite with 2 double beds and it was actually a better deal, so we were very happy. A very comfortable room and the staff could not have been nicer. Not to mention the breakfast buffet included in the cost of the room. A definite must for any visit to our nation's capital.

Everythis was great we had a nice room and experience at this hotel. The staff was helpful and polite the we truly professional.

Our overall experience was wonderful. Only negative was the drink prices at the hotel lounge. We stopped for drinks after the Nationals- Mets game & the bill was $150! But the hotel itself was great. Good locations for sight-seeing & to the Metro. Service was top notch & our room was beautiful, clean, comfortable & spacious. Our 14 year old grandson walked into our room & said "Wow, this is the nicest hotel room I have ever seen, I could live here". Thanks for a great stay & keep up the good job.

We had a great stay at the Capitol Hilton July 16 - 18th. Check-in went smoothly and we received a room on a higher floor at the end of a hall that was perfect. The hotel location was within a short walking distance to all the tourist sights. Hotel registration staff did not give us our breakfast vouchers that were to be included until the second day so they gave us a credit for one nights parking. We were very satisfied with this! We had dinner at a local Italian restaurant, Luigi's, as recommeded by concierge that had great food. My husband said it was the best fettucini ever. Overall, it was a great experience and I would stay at this hotel again.

The Capital Hilton is very close to the historic sites. The hotel is quiet and comfortable.

I'm pleased with our recent stay at the Capitol Hilton -- very comfortable, commodious, even elegant. Location is okay -- about a $10 cab ride from almost anywhere on the tourist map, except the White House, which is pratically across the street. Other locations are walkable, but not int he searing heat of summer. I wish the health club were free to guets -- that irked me a bit. But at least they had one on the premises!

We had paid in advance, but a room was not "turned over" for us until after 9:30 pm. --An hour and a half wait! We were offered free internet and free breakfast for "our inconvenience." --But we were told when we made our reservation that those were included anyway. The staff in the dining room then told us the free breakfast didn't count for our children!! We were also not allowed late checkout despite the fact that we were told the night before that "lots of people must have checked out late!!!- Overall not a good experience- it was difficult with young children.to wait until after 9:30 to get our room.

Check in found that our room was not ready--- tho we had paid in advance, our room would not be done by housekeeping until after 9:30pm---leaving travel weary people waiting in the lobby!! The next day we asked for a late check-out and were told they didn't have one. We were given free breakfast and free internet for our inconvenience---- both are given free to all customers! At breakfast the waitress told us oh no, the free breakfast did not cover the children --- we would need to pay for them. No iron in the room tho there was an ironing board.
