Paramount Plaza Hotel & Suites - جينزفيل

We visit my daughter in Gainesville often and we always stay here. It is a convenient location for everything we do and you can't get a better value. Every king room has it's own balcony and our last trip we got a free upgrade to a suite overlooking bivens arm! always clean and quiet. We didn't want to leave this last time!

Quiet with adequate rooms. Great value. Would stay again.

This was our first stay in Gainesville while exploring UF as a potential college for our daughter. The plus side-- lakeside room provided a great view--you must like nature to stay at this hotel. The location is 5 minutes from UF. The wait staff in the restaurant were very pleasant eventhough clearly understaffed. The down side -- the hotel is very old, the menus in the room are not updated and there is less of a selection in the restaruant than indicated. Starbucks is no longer on premises as the pictures indicated. The pool was closed twice for "functions". It appears that the hotel is more interested in weddings and small conference events that the individual traveler. The housekeeping staff were rude, unprofessional and many times were just sitting around and talking in the hallways.

Older but clean, preferred stairway to elevator and the not so pleasant smell in the the elevator. Busy place with the University close by. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

VERY CLEAN, THIS WAS OUR SECOND STAY AND WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE HOTEL. EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN ONE PLACE.THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. LOCATION WAS GREAT FOR OUR NEEDS. THE FIRST STAY WAS WITH MY DAUGHTER AND I FELT VERY SAFE. THANKS

We stayed in Gainesville for the AHDRA nitro nationals. The hotel was ok, but the room smelled moldy. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and so were the pillows. The website says they offer Starbucks coffee, but there is not an actual Starbucks in the hotel. THE ELEVATOR WAS AWFUL, if you were going up to floor 3, you would end up on 1 first. One time, the elevator stopped and the doors did not open. When we checked in, the desk clerk did not give us any info about the hotel such as parking and floors. Ground level is actually the 3rd floor, so it was a little confusing at first. Not a bad stay, but next time we are in Gainesville, we will stay at another hotel.

Nice place, but be aware of the "amenitites fee" they charge when you check in, even if you prepaid with an online booking service.

The fan in the bathroom didn't work so when someone went #2 the whole bedroom/bathroom stunk forever. The elevators did not work and went to random floors and were kind of scary. The elevator inspection certificate expired almost a year ago. They offered the latest Nintendo 64 games! Man I've waiting 16 years to be able to play that system! The hallways of the hotel were not air conditioned or maybe they just didn't turn the AC on to save money. The La Quinta in Gainesville was so much better when I had to stay a few years ago and it was rated the same or a little bit lower than this awful hotel. Strange.

Very nice part of Gainsville. Huge facility - seemed a little pass it's prime. it might Not many people but it may have just been because it was a Monday night and not much was going on. Looked like it could be a lovely place for an "event" - wedding, large meeting, etc. Room was comfortable - shower was excellent!.

Everything is close by.. nice location and view. great and friendly staff. no free continental breakfast option, but the restaurant inhouse had a good deal. very clean environments and good overall experience. would have loved to extend my stay, but they were full over the weekend.

I stayed at the Paramount while my family member was at Shands Hospital. Very convenient to the hospital - less than a mile away. I was thrilled by the serene view off my balcony. There was nice breeze off the lake, Spanish moss covered trees and a lot of huge birds and alligators on the lake (safely behind a fence, fun for viewing!!!). The pool was big and clean, also a very nice breeze off the lake.

This was my 2nd visit and this time was a definite improvement over the first. Nice room. Staff exceedingly nice & professional, not to mention efficient. I didn't care for the position of my room (next to vending, elevator and housekeeping closet) so I could hear too much but overall it was tolerable. I was able to work in the hotel during the day and was able to stand it so it wasn't bad. Housekeeping was a bit loud in the halls, but friendly and helpful.

Never heard of this hotel before and was a little uneasy, but was very pleased with what we found. Great location for UF, very clean and loved the convenience of the restaurant.

We were given the first room as you come in the door of the building. The sliding door on the other side of the room faced the parking lot. All night long we heard everyone who came in and out of the building as the door slams shut. We also had to hear everyone who has a horn honk when they activate the alarm system on their car. Needless to say we did not get much sleep. This room should not be given to a guest unless the entire hotel is full. Another big issue is parking. Since they have events there also, those guests take the parking closer to the hotel area and then the hotel guests are stuck parking in the lot on the other side of the hotel and walking all the way around the buildings to get to their rooms. It would help if they posted signs for the event guests to park on the right side of the lobby as it would not be a far walk for them to go the area they need to go to and it would open up parking spots on the hotel side for the people who are staying there. All in all it is a good hotel for the money. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable and it is minutes from the University of Florida. Luckily, we have stayed there before or the room location this time would have turned me off from booking this hotel in the future. If we stay there again, I will make sure we put in a request to not be by the door again.

The beds were hard and every time you moved they sounded like you were sleeping on top of plastic and made that annoying wrestling noise. The hotel needs updating, especially the bathrooms . Very small and basic. I would not stay here again

The hotel room was very clean, comfortable bed, good tv and a somewhat private patio. The staff was great. Only thing that I would have liked was a mini-fridge. I suspected that there would not be a fridge so we took a cooler to keep drinks and snacks cold. Overall, it was a great value.

Even though it was a non-smoking room, the hallway smelled of cigarette smoke. The room had had water damage at some time, because the carpet was water stained around the edges and further out.

We were more than impressed with this hotel. It was clean, updated, and secure. They have a great restaurant with excellent, moderately priced food and drinks, and really friendly and accommodating staff. All the rooms have inner doors and require a key card to even get in the hallway, and there are balconies on all the rooms and it sits on a very nice little lake. Great location for UF functions...only about a mile down the street. We only had two issues with our stay and both were rectified immediately. The in-room coffee maker was broken (but how would they know if no one told them) and was replaced within 15 minutes, and the hair dryer died and was replaced with a brand new one that worked perfectly. We've stayed at other hotels in Gainesville before for the same price and the Paramount is BY FAR the best you'll find!!

I stayed in a Standard King Non-Smoking. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only negative aspect of the hotel was the corridors and elevator had an foul odor to them.

The only problem i had was that the room didnt have a microwave and most important a refrigerator. But this hotel is one of the best hotels ive stayed in. :)

Great location, must see beautiful natural scenery and lake in early am and sunsets, convenient, affordable, very active area and events, close to all resturaunts, prefer to eat out due to activities....on line pricing is the best...

This could be a really great hotel except for the service. The view from the suite window was great. We looked out on a lake with all kinds of wildlife. The suite was large and, although a little dated, well done. It was pretty convenient to everything we needed to get to and the restaurant had good food. The restaurant staff was top notch and very helpful. The problem was that we left early one morning and the room was never done the whole day. We came back around 9:00 PM to find the bed unmade and wet towels still on the floor in the bathroom. Not a big deal! We call the desk and they send someone with fresh towels and an offer to clean up the room. We took the towels, showed him the room and declined his offer to make the beds. He was a very nice guy and we appreciated his attitude. The next day we again leave early and get back around 3:00 PM and again find the room a mess. We are both dead tired and want to take a quick shower and lie down for a while before we take off for an evening dinner date. I end up calling the desk a total of four times before I finally go find a member of the housekeeping staff to clean up the room. I talked to a very condescending Individual by the name of Jason who kept telling me that he completely understood the problem and would take care of it. He stated that there was a member of the housekeeping staff in the building and they would eventually get around to taking care of us. I didn't pay for a suite so that I could NOT enjoy all of the amenities that come with it. If I had someone with Jason's people skills working for me he would not be working for me very long. The situation could have been handled very well by sending someone over with a few dry towels and we could have managed until someone came to clean. However, two days in a row is a bit much at the price you pay. There was a sorority reunion going on also, but knowing this was the case they should have had extra staff to provide a reasonable level of service. While this

very clean and the beds were soooo comfortable! the waitress in the morning at the restaurant obviously didnt want to be there and was a bit short to us,,,but other than that and that the coke machine was empty (lol) it was terrific,,,coffee in the balcony looking at the lake was nice,,our brother is in Shands nuro ICU so the calmness and the convenience of the shuttle to and from the hospital was a great help.the price was great. l will be staying there each weekend i have to be there,,,God Bless!

The room was clean and spacious, the wifi worked well, but the fitness room consisted largely of broken-down equipment and that was a primary reason we chose this hotel. It's a very old-style conference center that appears to be struggling to keep an aging facility going. Elevator in building 1000 was seedy and slow. If you are like we are and prefer to pay less and not be too concerned about spiffy accommodations, though clean and comfortable and spacious rooms, then this is a good value place. It is well situated near downtown Gainesville (very pleasant) and the U of FL also of interest.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Was super comfortable and relaxing, nice garden patio. Very clean, staff extremely helpful. would stay again - longer!
