Hilton Nairobi - نيروبي

I booked this hotel thinking the Hilton would be high end and at least the standard of the hotels in the Americas as the Hilton is a Brand. WHAT a DISSAPPOINTMENT!!!! I could NOT believe that I was at the Hilton, (The Crown Plaza was 300% better than the Hilton Hotel.) Quite frankly the rooms need to be upgraded as the TV sat on a stand that looks like it was made in 1960 everything about it was old. The towels and wash cloth were off white and turned black once it got wet with water and dingy. The bathroom needs to be grouted, the bed was hard, the linen were brown and dingy, the carpets in the hallway smelt. HONESTLY, DO NOT waste your money. Book the Inter-continental hotel or the Crown Plaza as all the Hilton has going for it is the Name and Location otherwise I don't think any of the American's would stay there as it was worst than the local hotels I stayed at while I was there. One positive thing was the breakfast buffet selection was very good BUT they stick you with the price of $2250 KS (equals about $29-30USD) which is ridiculously overpriced for Kenya (Rip off) so try to pay in local currency if you must dine there as you have to pay the bank fee exchange rate in addition to the $30USD cost. All in all, this was very disappointing so don't waste your money.

The staff were courteous and helpful. The room tarriffs are extremely high and prices for goods in the hotel are also high. Generally the hotel was quiet and is conveniently located to explore Nairobi.

Front Desk staffs were very rude. They never ever put a smile on their face, didn't apreciate their job. Bell men pretended to be nice with you. But once you started conversation, all they want is selling a safari that they could get a commission to you. Services were very slow, whevenever we needed something to the room. It took forever. It had a very stinky smell in the room. The hotel must have done remolding in order to keep its business.

We had a strange experience at this hotel. We had a guy that approched us wanting us to come to his room and visit but we told him no and he refused except it. Then he followed us to our room and waited outside of our room for 30 minutes. We called the front desk to get help and security never called back. After calling the front desk for the third time they finally sent the manager and head of security to our room and the giy took off. I guess he didnt think they were coming to our room so he came back up the elevator. The manager upgraded our room and put security outside of our door and had a dog come through to check for anything unsual. We didnt stay to long after that. We felt secuity should have acted faster I think security was asleep. The location was great, very clean, and staff was nice exspecialy at the bar! Great coversation! Didnt rush us out when there were closing. I would stay again only because the bar staff!

Hotel ok, just a bit run down for a 5 star

The hotel has a great downtown location and if you time everything PERFECTLY you can avoid most of Nairobi's insane traffic. However, the best thing about the hotel was the Assistant Manager, Mr. Yanga and the staff. They were always willing and able to make things better if they had the ability. While my room was a bit smaller than expected it was still great. Also, safety was a top concern of mine and the hotel really took it seriously. While guards at every entrance and metal detectors may make it seem scary, it made me feel much better considering my tredpidation of going to the city.

The hotel is a bit too old maybe it's time to refurbish and change a lot of things if it's to keep up with it's competitors like the Crown Plaza

Staff very welcoming and friendly, and arrived with complementary 50 red roses, chocolates and wine in honour of our honeymoon. The Executive lounge was well-stocked with food and drink, although because their computer systems were down they were unable to confirm whether we were allowed to enter (we did!). The heated outdoor pool was a treat after our long journey, and the spa prices reasonable (although everything was fully booked so we couldn't sample them during our short stay). Breakfast was excellent and varied.

As a vegetarian I was extremely dissatisfied with the choice at the restaurant - there were very few choices on the menu and if you wanted to use the buffet it wasn't possible to have a full meal, only the vegetables that were meant as an accompaniment. Staying at the hotel for 2 nights meant that my meal on the second night was disappointing. Luckily I wasn't there for any longer!

This is as close as any to the main airport. The hotel can provide a shuttle bus service on request - reassuring to be met after the long flight to Kenya. Generally the hotel was everything expected of a Hilton, the restaurant was a little disappointing though - very poor selection for the vegetarian in my party.

A very comfortable hotel right in the centre of Nairobi. the staff look after you very well, but the building is starting to look a little tired.

Beautiful hotel with old world charm. Staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Friendly, helpful and always greeted with a smile. They organised transfers, drivers, the lot. Room was comfortable and clean and service was quick and courteous. Had a great stay - thank you so much. Jenny

Stayed here for one night at the end of a 10 day safari. The hotel is located bang in the city centre, but probably not the nice part of town. Although we didnt spend too much time at the hotel as we arrived at about 7 in the evening, checkedin and went to the nicer westlands area for dinner. Then had an early flight to catch the next morning. Hotel lobby and resturant looked nice and made a good impression on entry. The lobby areas outside the rooms were a complete contrast compared to the main lobby, looked very sterile and dated. The room was a decent size with a comfertable bed but could surly do with an upgrade. The most disappointing thing was goin for an early shower at 5am the next morning only to find the towel had long ugly hair stuck to it. To make things worse the room phone wasnt working at all so couldnt ask for a replacement. Also, filled out the breakfast card the night before in the hope that we could have a good breakfast before leaving for the airport to catch an early flight. But, somehow the kitchen managed to miss out the fact that we had ordered eggs and instead gave us a plate of tasteless mushrooms and tomatos. Also the coffee was disgusting so we pretty much left the hotel without anything to eat or drink. Althought it is probably worth mentioning that the breakfast did arrive before time. I am sure for the price hilton charge you could find much better hotels in nairobi that care about service.

The room was very small. There was hardly any room to move around. In addition, they overcharged the WiFi. I have an ipad and an laptop, they charged me double for every day I stayed. I explained to them it never happened to me in other Hilton and I also indicated that there was no warning. They only offered 20% discount for the internet charges. I would never stay in that hotel again. If I want to stay in that area in Nairobi, I would choose Sarova Stanley which is only one block away and has free WiFi.

Eventhough the Hilton you may know is quite different then this African standard, still I recommend this Hilton. Overall is a good hotel, the one thing I like the most is the food, cleaness, service of their restaurant. And, the one thing I didn't like is the constant theft opportunity that could happen in the hotel.. That worry me the most.

We enjoyed our stay, great location, friendly helpful service, great food. Rooms a little dated but comfortable and clean. Would happily recommend this hotel.

Used the hotel twice on seperate occasions. Arrival, Check in on both visits flawless and as expected. Front Desk Staff (kudos to Moses) were excellent and accomodating. They worked well under pressure as we watched some Indian Diplomats make an axx of themselves at check in and yell at the staff..good training. Hotel is a bit dated and well used for sure but everything worked. Staff very accomodating and the breakfast was definitely excellent indeed. Forget about the internet if you need it at $20.00 for 24 hours...Location convenient and the staff knew the schedules of the shuttles to Tanzania once we mentioned the name. They know their clientele. One thing of note: There is hotel 'security' and scanning as you enter for metal etc...this appeared to be a bit of a joke and window dressing. They scan the person and a cursory glance at your carry on, but NO look at the luggage. With whats happening in the world, they might want to have a look at that aspect. The staff and service were outstanding. They were very polite and attentive. The only downside to the visit was that the rooms (as many other reviews reported) were terribly old and outdated. The room was functional but not what you expect from a Hilton in terms of design and upkeep. For a few dollars more, you can stay at the Crowne Plaza and have a brand new room.

I was only there for a short one night stop but found the hotel to be modern and in good condition. The staff were helpful except for a very slow check out early in the morning.

Excellent security on arrival, efficient check in, good rooms, nice bar, excellent selection of food on buffet for both evening meal and breakfast. Hotels in Nairobi can be rather expensive but the Hilton offers good value nonetheless. Recommended.

This hotel definitely does not live up to the global Hilton name a traveller expects. The hotel is in desparate need of modernisation - especially in the guest rooms. The location is very central and fairly safe during the day time. However, in the hours of darkness it is not a safe area. There are plenty of other modern hotels in Upper Hill and Westlands that offer a much better quality and value for your money. I would not stay at this hotel during my future visits!

The room was quite old and so small. It's like an old 3 stars hotel. Really I only paid for the name of the hotel.

In city center.Public areas fine in Hotel. First night we had 3-4 mosquitos in room. Room price was very high in this level hotel in Kenya ! In Europe this kind Hotel cost half of this.Also food and drinks were very expencive. Pool was under construction-hotel did not announce that us beforehand. Otherwise we liked Kenya and will come back but not stay in this heavely overpriced Hotel.

Overall a very good experience. Hotel staff was very helpful in geting me checked in quickly and had a taxi waiting fo rme on my morning of departure as requested. Hotel interior a little dated but bed was very comfortable. Internet fees anr very expensive though.

娘7歳とクイーンサイズのベットを利用しました。朝食はアメリカンブレックファースト式で、種類多く、味もおいしくとても満足できるものでした。中2階に宿泊者専用のラウンジがあり、静かにそこで過ごせます。ただ、ケニア全体に言えることですが、飲み物を頼むと時間がかかるのが難点。あと、プールは温水で快適でしたが、夜7時までしか使えなかったです。また、ホテルを一歩出ると、ダウンタウンに面しているので、治安的にはあまり良くなく、バスターミナルもそばなので、少しうるさい時もあります。ホテルの中は快適でした。

建物は古いが、よく整備されていた。ケニアッタ国際会議場には徒歩で7-8分と便利。ホテルのレストランは、おいしいが値段が高め。入り口でのセキュリティチェックが厳しいので、ホテルの中は安心できる。クーラーが効きすぎるので止めて寝た。テレビのCNNチャンネルがノイズで見にくい。無線LANは1週間で8000円程度。屋外プールがあったが、水を飲むなとか、蚊に刺されるな、などと旅行ガイドに注意があるので入れない。コンサージュでサファリ動物公園へのツアーを予約したが、楽しかった。空港へのマイクロバスやタクシーは、何人乗っても一人ずつ定額なので割高。1台でいくらにしてほしい。

très bon hôtel, accueil et cadre de vie très agréable, les 2 seuls problèmes c'est le choix des meubles qui me font penser à mes week-end chez ma grand mère , d'un autre temps, ainsi que l'obligation de parler l'anglais sinon c'est du suicide. J'en garde un très bon souvenir.

Good hotel, situated right in the middle of Nairobi. Very friendly staff, good service, nice restaurants. I have only good things to say about this hotel. Transport to and from Airport was never a problem. Highly recommended!

OK standards, but not a four star hotel, and as such extremely overpriced fares when considering the outrageous payment for internet and breakfast in addition. The swimming pool, business center and the gym facilities somewhat made up for a bit of what was lost in terms of room comfort and excessive price.
