The Drake Hotel - شيكاغو

Very good service at every turn. From the valet to room service to dining, we received excellent service. The room was somewhat dated, having a separate tub and shower but given the history of the hotel, I found the amenities excellent. If you are seeking elegance and style or are looking for either great shopping or a romantic get-away, this is the place to be. Finally, when comparing rates for this and other upscale hotels in the area, the Drake is a bargain.

The Drake has that grand hotel charm, beautiful architecture from times gone by and yet all the modern conveniences necessary in today's world. However it was the staff that made our stay there great. Starting with the first step out of the car... everyone helpful, even to point of mentioning a lower cost carpark up the street if I thought the valet was too pricy... we went with the valet and thanked them for the alternative suggestion. The desk staff was excellent, courteously extended check out to accommodate a later than expected business meeting. The gentleman that brought our luggage to the room was most helpful. Providing detailed information of the area, and always there with a smile and a few words each time we passed through the lobby. The Concierge desk provided us with a host of pertinent information to the area including helpful shopping tips, all with a smile. While sitting in the lobby one morning conducting business with my laptop, I saw several people come and go and the Concierge was quick to smile and greet everyone, calling many people by name. Walking through the halls each day, passing the carts of the housekeeping staff, all of them cheerful with a smile and a greeting of having a good day. To sum it up, when interacting with all different members of the staff, they were as personable as I wanted them to be and as professional as I needed them to be. We will stay at the Drake again.

Great location!! My room was horrible. Needed to be gutted and redone.The hotel staff was GREAT. The Palm Court Room ,High Tea AMAZING! The manager of the Palm Court is Shaun,He runs a tight ship ,always smiling. Great Guy. I will return because of him

The bathroom had no useable mirror if you were not over 6 feet tall! If I ever stayed there again I would bring my own lighted makeup mirror because there is no other way to really see yourself given the lighting and mirrors in the room.

We booked the Drake for our wedding anniversary because it is "The Drake." I always remembered the hotel as a little child and wanted to stay there because of its history and timeless significance. Not only is it located right next to everything but you do not get that luxury and history in an everyday hotel. It is ageing? Yes, but isn't that part of the significance?

old world elegance without being stuffy. Lively bar, great views of Lake Michigan and easy access to cabs, shoppping and getting around the city.

My son and I went for a fun weekend in Chicago, and this hotel was right in the heart of everything we wanted to do. We shopped, ate at amazing restaurants on Rush St, walked to movies, museums and Second City. The staff was helpful and the condition of the hotel is very well maintained for an older hotel

My Lady and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary and looked forward to staying @ the Drake & having Tea. We were pleased beyond expectations. When we got there we were upgraded to a King Suite which was wonderful. Tea was excellent and the servers were very accomadating, upon seeing that I had a camera our server offered to take a picture of us. The concierge was very helpful multiple times. I would recommend the stay to anyone.

Great hotel, great staff, great rooms, great location! A clear choice on North Michigan Avenue. No question where I'll stay the next time I'm in Chicago.

It is always a pleasure to stay at the Drake. The rooms are big and lovely, the service is top notch, and the location right on the Magnificent Mile next to the lake is hard to beat! The bathrooms are small, but that is the only criticism I would have, and was not an issue for me. I also love the restaurants and the stores at the hotel. A great experience.

I found the hotel public areas exceptional for the age of the hotel and the personnel very cooperative and informative. I do have some small concern about the 4 Star rating. My room was not in tip top shape and the linens that usually are part of the evaluation process for ratings were average of just a little above. Overall this is not serious enough to not recommend the hotel as a very nice place to stay.

Great hotel and services. Nice gym. Perfect location for shopping. A hotel as new full of history. I loved it.

This is a nice hotel in a very good location but there isn't any wifi available in the rooms. High spend internet access is advertised but you need a device that's ethernet compatible.

A convenient location old world style hotel. Recently decorated. Reasonable sized rooms. But somewhat antiquated bathroom fixtures.

Awesome!! Restaurants in the hotel are incredible and affordable. Champagne is great too! No view of the lake but it didn't matter.

This was my first stay at The Drake. I totally fell in love with it. The entire staff was nice and helpful. The room was comfortable and extremely clean. I recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Chicago area.

for where the hotel is, and for the cost, I would have expected a lot more. hotel is need of a remodel - bad. it was terrible, but wasn't "an experience"

I don't order room service that much but there was a $17 delivery fee and a 20% tip was already included on the bill...I didn't know this so the 20% tip I instructed my son to give made room service outrageous. $64 for a pizza and plate of pasta. Other than that the stay was wonderful.

We quite enjoyed our time at the Drake. Generally we stay at other, newer, hotels in Chicago, but we tried the Drake this time. Staying on the Executive Floor and having breakfast included was a real benefit. However, we generally like the newer and better appointed rooms at other hotels like theWit better.

the only bad thing is the front disk in charge on saturday morning ignored my pphone at 6 am suppose it was an emergency ? marc 10 2012

The Drake Hotel is truly a beautiful hotel and a wonderful start to the walk shopping down Michigan Ave. You can start in your hotel with the channel store!!! The food was excellent in the hotel and the antiques amazing. The ONLY point about our stay that I did not like was that the walls between rooms are a bit thin and one can hear other rooms conversations and sometimes the adjoining rooms were up late at night talking. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay and I would go back again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at the Drake. It's absolutely sumptuous and is in a great area of the city -safe and not a lot of traffic noise. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom. Our breakfasts were beautifully served and quite delicious. The only other meal we ate there was in the bar - the best lobster role ever (and we've had plenty of them in Bar Harbor, Maine). I would stay there again without hesitation.
