Embassy Suites Kansas City - Plaza - كانزاس سيتي

My family and I only stayed two nights which was fine by me. It is not that the hotel was "dirty" and I am sure that when new, it was much grander. The parking was adequate, when the gate was working, you just needed to make sure to miss the enormous pothole next to covered parking. The carpet in two of the three elevators were loose, and dirty. They did not give off the "i'm safe" vibe. The room was outdated with a flat screen in each room. The bathroom was TINY, with a sink in the suites bedroom and one in the main room. You had to really "jimmy" the bathroom door in order for it to shut. It looked as though the hinges were rusted straight through and barely hanging on for dear life. If you leave your room, you had to ensure that the door was closed as it would not completely shut on its own. In finality, it was just much more expensive than what it was worth. I have no problem with cost as long as the accomodations match. For instance: try the Tallbot in Chicago, you will not be disapointed!! Stay at this Embassy Suites, and don't say I didn't warn you.........

Great location to access the shops and restaurants of The Plaza area and only about $10.00 cab ride to downtown party spots

My wife and I have stayed here several times over the summer and always have the same experience. It's a great place to stay, whether for business or pleasure. Highly recommended!!!

The only thing that bothered me was that it cost $10 to park in the hotel lot and this was not part of the room fee. Ethically I think that the hotel should have to let guests know this upfront.

The Hotel was 4 blocks from the plaza which is serval resturants and shops, and across the street from a nice jogging park. We had a wonderful stay the staff treated us like royality.

Thank you hotels.com for notifying the hotel of the late arrival. I am a event planner and have used Embessy suites in Ca quite often. When we arrived we were put in a room next to the elevator(two wemen) in an other wise not sold out hotel at 1pm in the morning. Coffee maker did not work asked to have it fixed or changed on our way out the next morning. Next night the mrico starting beeping and increased beeping until 7am until I got up and reset the clock.. Next day no towels or wash cloths were delivered had to ask. Sadly I make regular busniess trips to KC area. just not to them.

Chose this hotel specifically as breakfast was served early. Was supposed to start at 6 am but didn't therefore went hungry first day of conference. The manager's reception was not the finger food as advertised but stale pretzels, liquor and bad punch. The hotel is within a couple of blocks of the Plaza however, it can be a little scary after dark. Park near hotel fills up with apparently homeless people after dark. Parking garage wouldn't let me leave after checking out early one morning. Had to go all the way back into the hotel to find and attendant to manually open the barrier. Hotel is cushy but what you need to make a business trip go well is promptness and attention to detail. Hotel lacks these but, if you are not in a hurry and can wait for people to fuss around and get stuff right it is a nice place.

*Filthy pool/hot tub water and constantly no towels (plus a dangerous "fence" separating shallow and deep ends that lots of kids were jumping off) *Our room cleaning was skipped one day. We left at 8:30 a.m. and returned about 4 p.m. (I double-checked that we removed the DND sign.) The cleaning cart was next door ... and then skipped us. That was OK; I merely asked for fresh towels. However, later, we received a hotel explanation that our room wasn't cleaned because we had a DND sign on the door, which was a lie. *Valet parking (@ $15/day) started OK, but rapidly degraded. Couple times, we had to wait a loooong time for our car; once, we were parked in because 2 of the valets were talking to a friend in a vehicle. We finally had to shout, "Hey, could you let us out?!" *Manager's happy hour advertised to last until 7:30 p.m., but the one day we decided to attend - at 6:45 p.m. - it was already shut down. *TV remote only semi-functional. *Little/no hot water one evening.

Loved free drink tickets. Breakfast was excellent. Did not like paying for parking.

All and all, not a bad hotel. It is somewhat dated and the traffic flow at breakfast could be improved but the staff are very friendly and helpful. A good value for the price.

The Embassy Suites near the Country Club Plaza is in a perfect location. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast was plentiful and the bed was very comfortable. Roomy suite, too.

The hotel was very nice and very accomodating however, the parking was awful. If you don't pay the extra 5 dollars for valet then you're left to circle their one level parking garage 10 times or scour the outdoor parking lot in hopes to find a spot. They don't have enough parking to cover all of their guests. After circling the parking lot and garage many times we were told to park down the stree at the parking lot next door. I was not comfortable with this at all since the plaza westport area isn't exactly on the nicer side, with "park at your own risk" signs everywhere. On top of it we had walk back from this other parking lot in the rain. Just was not a good parking experience at all. But other than that my hotel stay was nice.

The only thing I did not like was they say balcony suites but the doors are screwed shut. I must say the staff was very friendly and accomodating.I will stay there again.

Great free breakfast great location

This Embassy Suites is very comfortable and a most pleasant place to stay. Decent complimentary hot breakfast. Walking distance to fun neighborhood for walking, shopping and eating. Only complaints are that they would not allow an early check-in because we'd booked through hotels.com rather than through the hotel directly and the price is a little steep for Kansas City.

Staff was extremely accommodating and switched rooms promptly when we found undesirable materials in the sofabed. We were given a free movie coupon, popcorn, soda and many apologies. We had an issue with room key cards and they addressed that promptly, and again with extreme apologies. It was just an unfortunate incident, and we would return to the same hotel in the future.

Hotel was great. Hotels.com booked us a smoking room with king bed even though I reserved a non- smoking room with double beds. The hotel was completely booked but when hotels.com kept hanging up on us and was no help the hotel manager worked out a non-smoking room like we reserved. The hotel took way better care of us than hotels.com.

Our brother and sister in law were delivering a baby so it was great to have someplace to wait it out in style. The babies loved swimming while we were waiting for her to call us over to view the baby. Great reception, great breakfast. The beds are small for queens, I think they are more like a big twin, but they were comfortable enough. Would stay again.

I thought it was a little dirty. Breakfast was cold and coffee out of a machine that was horrible. The bar did not have enough staff to acomadate how busy it was.

I will not recommend these rooms to any one else. As we were never notified about all the addtional costs. With hotel taxes, parking and room up grades. Also Shuttle service was slow.

I really enjoyed the hotel atmosphere and the room. Everyone was very friendly. The only complaints I have were the elevators moved slowly and we had to pay for parking. I have stayed in this hotel before and the parking used to be complimentary. In addition the parking lot was full and they told us to park in a nearby hospitals parking lot after I had already paid them to park in their lot.

Just a short 5 minute walk to the Plaza, so great location if your intent is to do some shopping/dining. The hotel was fairly full during our stay, and thus a bit noisy. I think for the size of the hotel the pool is a bit undersized.

The bathroom is different than any other embassy suites I have stayed at. It is in the bedroom with just toilet and shower private while the sinks are in the actual bedroom. Makes it difficult to get ready if others want to be uninterrupted

We were in KC for the Big 12 tournament. We both got sick from the breakfast. The were not willing to use their van to shuttle people to the games (an extra mile or two from their "zone") and in spite of all the basketball fans coming to breakfast late, they closed the buffet and drained the coffee at 9:00. The jacuzzi didn't work in the pool either. Overall the worst Embassy Suites i've ever stayed in

I love staying at this place, it's convenient to my client sites, comfortable, the food is good, the pool(s) are very nice... only one complaint: HOT WATER... seems their hot water pumps don't work very well... the shower goes from hot to luke warm to cold, then back to hot and the cycle repeats... definitely need to fix the hot water regulators!

What a great place to stay! The staff was kind, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast the next morning was superb! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking about heading to KC

Free breakfast and service was excellent!!! Close to but not easy walking distance to the Plaza. Liked the underground parking. Big indoor pool. Would stay again on my next visit to KC.

This was a great place to stay - Happy Hour started the evening off right! Breakfast Buffet - was outstanding. Only complaint were the ambulances with their sirens on that went to the hospital during the night - BIt annoying!

A friend and I were attending a conference in Kansas City and we decided that we wanted to stay at a nice hotel. After careful research and reading the reviews, I selected the Embassy Suites. We got there about 4 hours before the posted check-in time. Our early arrival did not cause a problem because they were able to get us right in our suite. So this enabled us to freshen up and relax before it was time to go to the conference. The hotel also offered a shuttle service that was an excellent perk. The driver was nice enough to point out areas of interest to us. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful. We truly intend on booking future stays at the Embassy Suites again.

We had a really great time on our little one-night staycation! The kids didn't want to leave the pool, it was nice and warm (even for our 3 year old). Cocktail hour and made-to-order breakfast buffet were definitely a bonus! Long lines for both, so be prepared and/or come early or ask when less busy times are. Keep in mind that this hotel is in an old building, so everything is not new and shiny, but rather has a nostalgic feel to it. Even though it was old, it was well cleaned and tidy. Elevators were slow and often crowded - higher floors had better luck catching a down elevator than middle floors. We were on the top (12th) floor, so we had few problems with the elevator being full, it just took a little while to get one down - esp during morning checkout. The hotel was busy, but room felt quiet. Every staff member we interacted with was a class act. Thanks a bunch, Embassy Suites!

All in all we were impressed. The hotel is near (a long walk but possible) to shopping and restaurants, it's a very nice area. Our room was very nice and comfortable. The pool was small but the kids enjoyed it. The only real "hassle" was breakfast. It was very busy so I would recommend going right when it starts or waiting about an hour. It was chaos. But, I would definitely stay here again and would have no problems reommending this hotel to others.

My 75 year old mother and I took the Amtrak to KC and stayed at this fabulous hotel. My daughter drove down from Truman State, and we had a girls getaway. This hotel has everything you need from morning to night. Awesome breakfast, large selection of food choices for everyone. The hotel shuttle took us to Crown Center, then Country Club Plaza. The driver drove us through Westport area to show us various eating establishments for our evening meal. The evening happy hour is a fun wind down in the beautiful atrium lobby. We will stay here every time we travel to Kansas City!

I had out-patient surgery and needed to rest until my post op appt the next morning. with one bathroom in the sleeping area, I didn't get much rest for the interruptions in the bathroom. room smaller than expected for a suite. seemed to be clean. breakfast was good

Great price for the location and great stay!! We enjoyed it very much! Close enough to The Plaza, very friendly staff (especially Craig, the shuttle driver) and very nice hotel!!

The hotel staff was, without exception, freindly and accomodating. It was Thanksgiving so one might think that had something to do with it, but I don't think so. They're just good folk. When you go, talk to the breakfast staff; they will smile and wish you a good morning.

my daughter, her two children and i met in kansas city for the weekend. We were able to relax, use the awsome swimming pool, eat great breakfasts, and then do sight seeing in the area. It was lots of fun, and we will plan on doing it again!! The area around the hotel ihas a lot to offer, the hallmark visitor center, and crown center were easy to find, the staff were helpful with directions to grocery stores etc. Thanks Donna B

The hotel is very nice with nice service, the only problem was that the room was out dated and only one very small bathroom. The Cattleman's bar and grill is an excellent choice, the food was better than the Cheesecake factory. We had the 12 oz sirloin and it was to die for! The breakfast, made to order omlette along with many other sides was very good too.

Great location just two blocks from Main St., which will get you to the convention center, Crown Center, Country Club Plaza and more. Close to lots of shopping and dining options. Parking is a bit limited so ask about overflow parking in case the garage or lot is full.
