Reasonable price and good location. Parking was cheaper than most other hotels.

There were 4 of us, so the price was right. Location as good as it gets in downtown Montreal. The A/C was a little overwhelmed, but fortunately we didn't hit a heat wave.

Well located in downtown Montreal. Close to many night clubs and attractions. Metro (subway) station is only 2 blocks away. Bell Centre is also very close. The iconic Bar-B Barn is almost next door on Guy. The room was very well kept and maintained. Very much liked the pillows and great duvet. Underground parking is a bit of an adventure!

Great Location....just steps from lots of bars, restaurants and shopping. Hotel gave us a free upgrade. Would stay at this hotel againf or sure.

good basic hotel well located

Our stay at Hotel Maritime Plaza was a perfect night for a romantic getaway. Very private and not hard to get to by public transportation. We didn't use much of the Hotel's services, except the TV and Pool, which were both very nice. We did pay around 10$ extra for a microwave that never came, but other than that you pay for what you get. This hotel is not "zazazoom" but very affordable.

The staff were courteous and very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Well located, 5 min walk to Crescent St. Excellent choice. Would stay there again.

The hotel room was great for us. Conveniently located near the mezzanine where the pool was. Free internet access to look up subway schedule--Hotel so close to subway station, train station and downtown. Several nice restaurants close by that were less expensive than hotel restaurant. There was also a local market and drug store nearby. Rental car service in the lobby, did not know that until we arrived to hotel. Ours was a great gal getaway and would recommend and stay there again :)

In the room, there was make-up smeared on a pillow, lipstick on the shower curtain, and some hair on the bathroom tiles. The hotel itself looked like it was showing its age (hallways smelled a little and it was very dated).

we loved almost everyting about the hotel, except the A/C . We stayed the first week of july and it was a very hot week in Montreal. The A/C in the room could not keep up.

The hotel is really nice from the outside. The room smelled of mold when you walked in. The air condition doesnt work very well. It was soo hot and stuffy in our room and you couldnt change the settings on the AC...if you opened the window it was too loud...Average room....

Only downfall were the elevators...very slow and had to wait a good 15 min before being able to fit in one during the day, late evening not so bad. And the air conditioning could have been cooler. Besides that, was very happy with our stay and would stay there again. Pool was nice, went around 8:30pm so not too busy! Love the king size bed! Close to Ste Catherine shopping and restaurants.

This hotel looks a little old on the outside but is beautifully kept on the inside. The King Suite room I was upgraded to was very clean and comfortable. The king size bed was extremely comfy. The hotel staff were all very courteous and friendly. The only thing we didn't like was the $15 parking garage underneath the hotel, it was very small and cramped, we have a Rav 4 and it was difficult coming in and out of the parking spaces and garage. The hotel is very close to the main shopping area (Rue St. Catherine's) only steps away from it. Overall I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Montreal.

Great location , but bring a fan the air conditioning needs to be upgraded !

Great location, walking distance to metro station, restaurants and shops. Room was clean but the whole hotel had a "wet carpet" odor. Buffet Breakfast for 14.00 CAD very overpriced, nothing special! Rather try the "Eggspectation" for breakfast or brunch, it is excellent place! Their fresh squeezed orange juice is great! Parking is pretty much everywhere in the city for 8 - 15 CAD. Overall the hotel is good, service was friendly, just don't expect too much glamour! ;o)

For a 3 star hotel it offers all the expected amenities for the price and rating: fairly affordable - though for $20/night more we could probably have stayed in a slightly better place. Our room was comfortable to say the least - queen size bed and small bath room. My main (and only complaint) was that our room still smelled like someone had smoked in it even though it was clearly designated a non-smoking room. This could be residual smoke from years of allowing smoking inside the room (I am guessing here). I also thought the floor carpet needs to be updated and might be one of the reasons the room smells like someone had smoked in it. In spite of this, I can say that I was fairly pleased with my accommodations. Why you should consider staying in this hotel: the location offers easy access to city amenities – it is possible to walk to favorite parts, there is a bike rental spot across the street as well as a bus stop by the doorstep. The hotel main attraction is that it has a salt-water pool that was one of the highlights of my visit.

My only complaint is about the matress. It was horrible!! I could feel all the matress's springs all over my body!!. For the price that was paid I was expecting a more confortable bed. That's what the hotels are for: to sleep and rest while you're away.

Lanaguage barrier at front desk but friendly. Didn't know about the second floor deck until my stay was just about done.

Overall very nice hotel. Very convenient to restaurants, nitelife. Only downside was trying to get coffee for 4 in the morning. No room service until 5pm, so had to go to the restaurant, get 4 styrofoam cups of coffee and try to balance them to the room on a dinner plate.

The Maritime Plaza hotel is located right in the middle of Downtown Montreal, and has been there for a long time, and it looks and feels like it. It's been rated as 3 stars on a number of websites and it lives up to its rating. If it weren't for the old TV, fritzy cable, the pervasive musty smell in the room or the 12 hour loss of Internet, it would have rated 4 stars, especially for the restaurant and it's wait staff.

I only booked this last minute because of the 48-hr special and pool. Keep in mind... Negatives: -Cleanliness: We checked in to our non-smoking room, which had the strong stench of cigarettes including what looked like a cigarette burn on the chair. I could tell the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned by the dirty walls and a hair (head) on the toilet seat cover. The rooms are not vacuumed during your stay - only in-between guests. -Parking was expensive at $15/night, but at least the underground location was safe. -They charge you even for free 800#'s (we used a phone card to call home) -Rooms were small, but it's not that big of a deal for a short stay Positives: -It's a great location in the middle of downtown. Walk just one block and you're on Rue St. Catherine -The pool was nice, not crowded This was my 2nd trip to Montreal, if I were to go back again, next time I'd spend a little bit more to get a cleaner/bigger hotel like I did the first time. For the price, including parking, you can do better.

Very satisfied with service, cleanliness, and value

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of "The action" in Montreal and just off the hustle and bustle street so noise was not a factor. The room was adequate for the price and the hotel staff were for the most part friendly and responsive. The air conditioning was needed and not quite up to my comfort level, but everyone has a different comfort level. Parking was over priced ($15 as soon as you drive in or for the whole day), and no better alternative was offered when asked for, although 200 yards away there was a much more reasonable garage ($7 each day for the weekend). I would stay there again after looking around the market once more.

This hotel is right in the heart of the city with all the tall buildings surrounding it. I had no clue this hotel would be in such a prime location. If you have a truck or large vehicle don't bother even thinking about using the underground parking garage it's tiny just for cars. Our Corolla fit just fine but was still tight to fit. Service was good from the front desk and the hotel clerks were nice and polite to my wife and I who speak no french what so ever. If you're hungry in the morning the breakfast is $18 a person so break out the savings if you want some food. Room was nice and clean along with the bathroom. A little aged looking from the age of the hotel but due to location we booked the hotel again for when we come back for our vacation. Overall would recomend this hotel to anyone just not the breakfast it's too expensive! Tim Hortons down the road cost me $10 for coffee's, breakfast sandwiches, and doughnuts!

The location is convienience, but hotel is very bad smell and the room is not clean .

Great little hotel near the Museum of Fine Arts and others. Quick hop to subway and anywhere else. Garage pretty cheap. Great pool especially in PM. Breakfast very nice-buffet. Would stay again.

I would not stay here again. The hallways smelled bad. The room was old. Beds were not comfortable.

There is no use in sugar-coating it. I stayed in 2 hotels in montreal that weekend and I was able to conclude that even if I got paid to stay there I wouldn't return to this hotel. The receptionists are rude, the bathroom is nasty, the water doesn't go down the drain freely, few TV stations on the oudated TV, the coffee maker was a joke. It looked moldy. If you demand courtesy where you spend your money then Hotel Maritime Plaza is not for you. Even if you get 99% off your stay, do not do it! The attitude of the staff WILL ruin your holiday

Good location but lack of professionalism & noisy room ... and a shame that they do not provide FOC toileteries when you happen to arrive late to the hotel (all shops closed) and with your luggage lost at the airport ... Not worth a 3 star rating.

I'm very sorry to say this, but the elevator was broken and took me 1 hour after check before I got to my room. This was a problem the whole time. My room had a very thin door into the next room, and the guests staying there were not the quitest, I could hear all they said and the noise scared my brother. Also, they charge you for local calls with a $1.00 fee (even if you don't get through) and they don't tell you this when you check in!

Well located to the subway for easy access to the city. Clean room & bathroom. Friendly staff.

I was just a guest at this hotel for 3 nights and me and my friend are left very disappointed at how awful the service was in the restaurant and bar area. They had one person working in both areas, as well as them working room service or atleast that is what i was told. We sat in the restaurant for 20 minutes without a single person working there greeting us and when she did come over she did not ask to take our drink order. After another 15 minutes we left. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience and for the amount of money we paid to stay at this hotel, the staff there should be welcoming or atleast not rude. When people book for hotels they expect to get the whole package, not just a bed to sleep on. I guess it will be something to think about next time we go to montreal and need a place to stay.

The hotel is in a nice location, quite clean, the service is good. However, the elevators don't seem to work well. And the hotel building is very high, so it's a problem.

Hotel was nice, room was clean, bed was comfortable.only 3 minute walk away from Catherine street and the Bell Centre. Staff were helpful. Only things i could complain about were at times you could be waiting up to 10 minutes for an elevator which got annoying and the code for the wireless was constantly changing.which meant you had to contact reception every day or so. but other than that it was a pleasant stay.and i would go there again!

This room has a thin doorway to what seems to be a staff break room and loud conversation will erupt at any moment of the evening. Otherwise, it's a nice place to stay!

Had a short stay but all in all everything was wonderful and the ladies at the front desk were all very helpful and provided lots of information on best places to go and the best way to get there ... will definitely stay there again when next in Montreal.
