We didn't realize that our anniversary weekend was the same weekend as Jazz Fest until we tried to get reservations for our first trip to New Orleans. The Chateau Bourbon was the only place left in the French Quarter and only had four rooms available. We decided that it couldn't be as special as we had hoped (it was under renovation) but we'd go and just let everything else make up for it. WOW! We were so wrong! The hotel was wonderful. From the clean, comfortable, contemporary rooms to the friendly and helpful employees everything was perfect. The down-side was that it was hard to find because the entrance was temporarily moved to accommodate the renovation but they made up for that with a perfect location. We found it by accident but we will definately return.

The room itself was fine, however, the hotel should have closed while construction was taking place. There was no room service, no pool, no exercise room. There was only one way in and out of the hotel and the noise of construction was very annoying. There were no amenities at all. The housekeeping staff assigned to our room was not competent. We had to call the manager to get our room properly serviced. This stay was NOT worth our money. Other than our actual room the rest of the hotel was TORE UP!!!

The room was huge and just perfect! Although there were renovations going on, we weren't disturbed! Only a few step to Bourbon, although we didn't hear the parties going on all night! I would stay here again!

the room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. However, the hotel was in a huge remodel. we had to park and walk with our bags quite a way. Also, the room was minimally finished. there were only beds and a table in the room, no other mirror than the one in the bathroom and it made the stay a little more challenging. Once the hotel is completely remodeled, I am certain that it will be a great place to stay, however I think we paid a little much and don't feel I got my moneys worth.

when we walked into our room, i knew we had made the BEST choice!!! the bed/bedding was over the top quality! THANK U !!!! the friendliness of the staff made our stay "cozy" !!!! we wanted to be close to bourbon street but not to close (this was t' perfect combination for us).... so being within walking distance to frenchman street, the river, trolleys, "mother's" restaurant, greyline tours, etc. is one of the reason.... we will stay here again!

Very happy with our stay. The hotel is right on Canal x Bourbon streets, on the Canal street side of the French quarter. I was looking at different hotels for several days and got this one because Hotels.com had a 1-day 50% off sale for this hotel. Since I got such a good price, we weren't too upset by the fact that the hotel turned out to be under construction, I mean really - a total construction zone, with no access to the pool or fitness center. The room itself was very comfortable and beautifully updated, the restaurant downstairs is great too. The construction will be over mid May 2012. The entrance is also on Canal street, not on Iberville like Hotels.com says.

The hotel was under extensive renovation when we arrived. At the check-in desk, they said absolutely nothing about the extent of the construction and there was nothing on hotels.com to indicate that the hotel was under going construction. When we arrived we were asked if we wanted a pool view or street view, when we requested a pool view, the receptionist failed to indicate that the pool was mostly drained and that the courtyard was a construction zone filled with rat traps. Worst of all, at 7 a.m. we were awoken by the sound of someone pounding on our wall with a hammer. The walls began to vibrate and the sound of construction was so loud it made it impossible to do anything, let alone sleep. The front desk was extremely unhelpful and when we called Wyndham, they denied owning the property despite their name being plastered all over everything. DO NOT STAY HERE WHILE THE CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES. Go stay at the Inn on Bourbon - we moved there and the hotel was lovely.

The hotel is under renovations, therefore it is noisy (also over the weekend). Extremely overpriced!!!! I was lucky and only booked one night and then moved to the Ramada which was great.

The hotel is undergoing substantial rennovations, so much so that it probably should close down until the improvements are completed.

This was such a lovely old hotel. They are renovating it and making it ultra modern. It will be beautiful I'm sure, but just not my taste. It is a mess right now so be aware of this before you book a room here. The staff is doing their best. They are very friendly and helpful and have no control over what is happening to their hotel.

Nice hotel but undergoing construction and it seemed like the room had a few things missing like an additional mirror and lamps. Great location! I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It will be extremely nice once the construction is done. Service of employees ranged from good to excellent.

This will be a lovely hotel eventually (I think). The renovation is amazing. We were there for the French quarter festival. No service. No dressers or hangers in the room. Bare walls. No carpets in the hallways. This hotel should NOT be open during the renovation. Wyndham is foolish by staying open to make a few bucks while turning people off to their brand.

We got a great deal knowing that the hotel was undergoing massive renovation. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet (although undecorated). We liked the location and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

I was eaten alive in this place.. dont go for awhile

The hotel was clean and comfortable, BUUUT this remodel is more of a demolition than remodel. Only access into the building is through the valet or restaurant. The biggest disappointment was when I asked how to get to the pool and they instructed me to go 1 block to the Hilton. It was located on the roof. How can you advertise a pool and then say it is down the street. This was nothing like the information shown on the site. The only friendly person we met in a 3 day stay was 1 of the valets. The rest could have cared less that we were there.

The hotel room was beautiful and renovated but the Customer Service was horrible. There was no manager on duty during the night shift and we had an extremely rude customer service agent that was blatantly disrepectful to us the only night we stayed here after a simple and polite inquiry was made. It made it worst experience at a hotel I've ever had by far; we spoke to the manager on duty in the morning at which she said there would be consequences but nevertheless made it an unpleasant stay.

This hotel is zero star hotel. But thanks to hotel.com they help us get another hotlel for the same price and was 100% better.

The Chateau Bourbon Wyndham Hotel was under construction the day we stayed so we got a fantastic deal on the price of the hotel. It is right around the corner from Bourbon Street with easy access to Canal Street and the Trolley. The room we stayed in was quiet (no noise from remodel) and recently updated. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. Everyone that worked there was helpful and friendly whenever we needed to interact. We had a wonderful stay.

Good location Hotel had ongoing construction but caused little interference

Hotels dot com did not disclose that the hotel was undergoing renovation when selling the room with a "nonrefundable" provision. It was necessary to enter through a service entrance, there were no services or facilities available in the hotel. No fitness center, no restaurant, no wake-up calls. There were no furnishings in the halls and common areas, which were dusty, and the only furniture in the room was the bed, a small table with two chairs. Motel 6 has better amenities. And, the no-smoking room smelled like an ash tray. Plus, construction noise beginning early in the a.m. I felt cheated.

I usually stay at W hotels when I travel, but this hotel was very nice & clean. It is under construction which is a bummer, no pool or courtyard access, but all in all - really nice!

It was under major renovation at time of our stay so the lobby and entrances were a mess; however, our room was recently renovated and very nice. It was very large and very clean. The staff were all very friendly.

The hotel was under construction so our view was of an empty pool, with buckets, ladders, and random debris scattered about the deck. When asked if they had a mini fridge for the room they told us it would be a 10$ fee per night. Only one entrance was able to be accessed, and it was tiny, and very dirty looking with filthy carpet. On top of that they did a 30 minute long test of the fire drill system which woke us up numerous times. THIS IS ONLY A TEST ******* PLEASE LEAVE THE BUILDING THROUGH THE CLOSEST EXIT. DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR, TAKE THE NEAREST STAIRWELL. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ********* THIS IS ONLY A TEST. Five minutes, or even ten would have been tolerable, but 30 minutes just seemed like torture. Only one elevator was in use too thanks to the remodeling. The ice machine was also out on our floor so we had to walk numerous flights up and down to get ice. Overall the location cant be beat, and we have stayed in some lovely rooms at this hotel but i would never go back until the remodeling is done.

Beautiful hotel. STILL under construction. Only one elevator working. Great location. I would not stay there again because of the construction. Iberville Street was closed and under construction to get to the hotel. Needed to find a different route to get there.

Stayed here Thurs - Sun in March 2012. Place was under construction which was annoying when they started the pounding outside my room early in the morning. Rooms were huge. One friend had a very large room but very little furniture, it was quite amusing. There was an area the size of a regular hotel room with nothing in it. Very strange. I think they are just remodiling the whole place. Overall would stay again considering how close it was to the Bourbon St. area and the large rooms. Though I think we got a deal considering it was under construction.

DEAR HOTEL.COM, I HAVE ALWAYS HAD GREAT EXPERIENCES ON YOUR SERVICE,BUT THIS HOTEL IS UNDER GOING MAJOR RENOVATION.THIS TIME , WAS BAD! STARTING FROM FINDING THE CKECKING LOBBY TO HALLWAYS, WATER PRESSURE IN BATH ROOM, TO POOR ROOM SERVICE! PLEASE DON'T SEND ANY ONE ELSE THERE! I HOPE YOU CAN POST THIS REVIEW THANKS

I was throughly disappointed with my stay at this hotel. I was unaware when I booked the room that the hotel was under MAJOR construction. The room itself was comfortable, although thrown together with nothing on the walls. The staff was extremely unhelpful and impossible to get in touch with unless I stood at the front desk and asked to talk with a manager. The manager was even barely helpful and hardly apologetic and I never complain about service. This place had the worst service I've ever gotten at a hotel.

Nice hotel, didnt like all the work going on within the hotel. Price for parking was too expensive.

The hotel is under going a total renovation and some floors are shut down. Had to use the entrance on Canal Street which was a little inconvenient. Room had great bed but no desk for working. Will be a really nice hotel once renovation is completed. Could not ask for a better location just off of Bourbon Street.

Terrible hotel for the price. Half of it is under construction. Woke up to construction workers hammering at 7AM. No furniture in our giant room other than the bed, a non-working TV and a small table/chairs. Door to room did not shut automatically, had to make sure we pulled it shut when leaving. One set of outlets did not work. Alarm clock buttons were broken. Location is great, staff was very friendly, but the overall condition of the hotel is just awful. I would not stay there again. None of the pictures shown on the Hotels.com website are even remotely accurate.

Hotel is undergoing a major renovation. I don't think they should even be open right now. Strong paint odor in all the halls, contruction workers all over the place, being woke up a 7:30 AM every morning by them really sucked. Nothing was open in the hotel due to renovation, No pool, No bar, No exercise room, no meeting room nothing! This looks like it will be nice when completed in May but until then they should keep the doors closed.

The hotel is still under renovation. The rooms are clean and newly redecorated but only have a bed, table, chair,and tv on a stand no dresser or drawer space. Since we were just staying a few days it was not a problem but the doorman asked me if I was upset by the lack of furniture as he was getting many complaints from people who were staying a full week, they had no place to put their clothes. The area was great. Close enough to walk to many restaurants, shops and attractions. The staff are nice but don't rely on wake up call, we asked for a 3:30a call to catch our plane and the call never came, luckily I used my cell phone as a back up. I would recommend this hotel, it was very nice and reasonably priced

The only reason I give this hotel a "3" for maintenance is because during my recent stay, the hotel was under major renovations. I did experience some minor inconveniences while there. However, the hotel staff was so incredibly courteous and helpful that I could not be too unhappy, all in all. I would definitely return as the location is great for proximity to the French Quarter, and the room rates during my stay were quite good. My room was newly renovated, and very clean. The beds were comfy, too.

The hotel was right near Bourbon St, as advertised. Also on Canal. They are changing entrance from Iberville to Canal. Too bad Airport Shuttle didn't know that.. The hotel is doing major remodeling. The staff made it as nice as possible, but there was no pool and we had strong smell of paint thinner one morning in lobby. Our room was clean, but was still in some level of remodeling. No pictures on wall and some outlet covers not on. It was clean and comfortable though. And we weren't in it very much. Still, I wish someone on Hotels.com had indicated it was being remodeled

My wife and I came to NO for the first time a. We were very disappointed in this hotel, their staff and the condition of the hotel. While we were there on 2/23-24/2012, construction was going on in the hotel. The web site we registered on for this hotel did not provide information about the large renovations going on in this hotel. Signage on the floor we stayed on was extremely poor in not having the arrows pointing in the correct directions. Finally, the hotel staff were rude. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

I wasn't told they were under remodel. Hotel was a mess paint everywhere and plastic. Dirty. was told I got a balcony room from hotel.com but didn't. Was so unhappy. They should not of booked this hotel with out informing of bad conditions. Was to late to book anther hotel after we seen the mess. How ever I'm sure its a great place when not under construction. I payed way to much for a hotel not clean and covered in paint dust. We should of been told. So unfair. This was to be a special vacation for my daughter and I.

Even though the hotel was in the middle of extensive renovation, it didn't affect us at all. Stayed at the height of Mardi Gras and loved how spacious and clean the room was. And even though its half a block from Bourbon Street, it was very quite. Ideal location for someone who wants proximity to Bourbon, but also an escape from it when you need to recover. Will definitely be back.

hotel was under massive renovations. it should be closed or part of it should have been closed off. pretty sure they didnt cause they would lose a lot of money during mardi gras. the hotel walls were bare, no small things you take for granted in most hotels - safe, business center, microwave or fridge, etc....

This is a very nice hotel it is very very very convient to everything! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel room was outstanding. It is located 1 block from boubon in the middle of everything. The room itself was the size of 2 rooms and you could walk out the patio doors directly to the pool area. Outside, this room had its own patio set just for your enjoyment. I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to have a good time. This room was the Premium King size bedroom.

We enjoyed our stay despite the construction, this hotel will be up and running some time after may 2012 and will be a prime spot to stay. Only one block from Canal street whcih was a favorite of mine. I would try to stay there again.

Hotels.com failed to advise us that the hotel will be undergoing a 4 million dollar renovation even though we booked in August for a Feb stay. Hotel was a mess. No lobby, Exercise, Pool and limited to entrance to hotel thru alley.
